The location was a little out of Kunming Shopping town.but besides Wanda Mall that have many good eateries. The room is very comfortable but a little dim in terms of lighting, however please note. All five start hotel is like that ... The only regret is was not able to use the pool because only have two days in Kunming, I would stay at this hotel again. If visit Kunming. The toilets is very comfortable, however I noticed the chair at study take is not up to standard due to some parts being worn off .. however .many thks to Wanda to provide this kind of accomodations to tourists...thkss

Some silicon at bathing area is worn out and study table chair is worn out too...can be improved. So I rate 9/10

Hotel staff stated that only one breakfast was included for my twin-room booking and chose to clarify this with the guest instead of Booking.com. Spoilt the start of our day. The location is mainly suited for locals and domestic tourists, and may not be ideal for international visitors.

Tolles Luxushotel sehr zu empfehlen. Das Frühstück ist perfekt. Sehr viel Auswahl an kalten und warmen Speisen. Die Qualität ist ausgezeichnet. der Wellness Spa Bereich mit Sauna, Swimmingpool etc. auf der 6.Etage ist ebenfalls super zum entspannen. Die Zimmer sind groß und man fühlt sich wohl.

Ms. Audrey Su from customer service made our stay truly memorable and comfortable. She kindly shared helpful information about room upgrades, and her recommendation turned out to be an excellent choice. She even went the extra mile to assist us in getting a taxi from the convention center when we were stuck due to a roadblock. When I informed her that we might not make it back in time for checkout, she thoughtfully extended our checkout time by 30 minutes instead of charging an extra day’s rate, which we really appreciated.

My experience at the Kunming Wanda Vista Hotel was absolutely fantastic. The hotel's location is excellent, near by shopping mall, which was incredibly convenient. The room was spacious, modern, and the bed was very comfortable with beautiful city views. Audrey were professional and very helpful. The breakfast offered a wide and delicious variety. I highly recommend this hotel for both business and leisure travel.

Excellent service from the front desk staff. They were helpful and accommodating.

The location is superb with a huge Wanda shopping mall just next to it. Kunming Train station is also just minutes away. The breakfast was sumptuous. The service provided by the check-in staff Daisy Xie was exceptional. She ensured the room was changed immediately when we told her there was a residual smoke smell. She came to our room personally to assist in the change. We got an upgrade, which was unexpected. This gesture speaks volumes about quality customer service and personalised human touch. Enjoyed our stay very much and highly recommend the hotel.

It was my 2nd stay during this trip because i had to head back to Kunming. We liked the hotel and location so we decided to choose it again. The staff was exceptionally helpful in retrieving my taobao packages and delivering them to my room. Truly appreciated that as i was still making my way back from Guizhou. They are very responsive if you need to commincate with them. Room was big and spacious. Super comfortable and clean! Located right next to wanda mall, which had loads of food offerings. The hotel breakfast and dinner options were delightful too.

Very comfortable hotel. Front desk was friendly. There were many restaurants and a mall in the area. The view was also great. The decorations were fancy. We got the breakfast as part of the deal and it was convenient and tasty. Overall a great experience.

The hotel is a little 'blingy' but very well done and of high quality! Room was extremely comfortable and the breakfast was your classic hotel buffet- more than reasonable but not exceptional

Wanda Vista is a truly beautiful hotel. The lobby is breathtaking and the decor is really nice. Some reviewers have noted that they think the decor needs to be updated. I have to disagree. The decor is modern Chinese decor and befitting of the destination! My father and I stayed here for 3 nights. We had executive room, executive lounge access and enjoyed the buffet breakfast each morning during our stay. The executive lounge is one of the best we have ever been to, with more than ample food options and a huge array of beverages. The view on the 22nd floor (the executive lounge) is also spectacular at night. The buffet breakfast is lovely and had items that my father and I like to eat in the morning. The breakfast does cater more to the hotel’s Chinese customers but we were happy with our options. On the first night we smelt smoke in our room despite booking a non-smoking room. We told one of the staff members, Jack Chai, in the morning. He was extremely accomodating and offered to change our room and even offered to upgrade our room when we feared the next room would smell similarly. We refused the offer of the suite and waited until the checkout time of that day to inspect a similar room to ours. The room wasn’t an executive room but we were much happier as it didn’t have any smell of smoke. From then on in our stay at Wanda Vista was wonderful! On our last night I needed to see a doctor and the staff were incredibly helpful and obliging despite the significant language barrier. We cannot thank Caroline He enough for her efforts to help us. She was kind and patient and came to our room with an English speaking doctor on her personal phone. We were shocked when she refused the small tip we offered to thank her for everything... She is a special employee and we hope the company rewards her for her efforts. The staff at Wanda Vista are fabulous! The company should be extremely proud of them all, particularly Jack Chai and Caroline He. Jack was so friendly and helpful and made our stay at Wanda Vista great!

My first impression when I walked into the reception area of the Wanda Vista hotel was Wow! It’s vast splendour and eye catching wall to wall tableau (in actual jade) is stunning. Also on entering my room I was very pleased with the decor and furnishings, it immediately had the feeling of class and quality. The large bed was so comfortable and coupled with high quality bed linen made for a most comfortable nights sleep. All the details have been well thought out and I was very happy with my room and the way it was serviced daily. If by any chance there is something you need or have a special request then the hotel manager Mr Robert Williams will do his best to make it possible. This kind man made our stay at the Wanda Vista an absolute pleasure and took special attention to what he was hearing from us all and went to great lengths where possible to meet our needs. I have stayed in many lovely hotels while touring China but Mr Williams personal touch definitely gives The Wanda Vista hotel the edge. The huge dining area is splendid and at breakfast they cater for all tastes. The food was of good quality and the staff are more than happy to help in any way they can. In the evening they do a buffet dinner which specialises in seafood which is so good that it attracts business from beyond the hotel. There is also a good sized swimming pool and gym. You are close to lots of small restaurants and there is a very impressive shopping mall which houses a supermarket and an imax cinema. So I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kunming and as I said earlier the hotel manager gives it that personal touch. I have observed him working with his staff on more than one occasion and he seems to have a very good rap-pour with them and they seem pleased to help, and like himself be of good service.

The Wanda Vista in Kumming is quite simply a brilliant hotel. On arrival, the ambiance of the public areas oozes opulence and sophistication. You are at once made to feel completely welcome and at ease by the wonderfully friendly staff who take the time to make sure that all your needs are met. The opulence continued in my room. Incredibly spacious and wonderfully well-appointed with every necessity having been thought of. The enormous bed was extraordinarily comfortable with top quality bed linen making for a wonderful nights sleep. My room was exceptionally clean and always well serviced - a theme that runs throughout this hotel. Breakfast offers an amazing array of choice ranging from western to more local fare, all brilliantly executed. I dined one evening at the hotel restaurant which provides what can only be described as a lavish buffet, catering for all different tastes, highly recommended. Special mention must be made of the incredible general manager Robert, who went completely out of his way to make sure that our stay was totally memorable going well beyond the call of duty. He and his staff are totally focused on providing a level of comfort and customer service that other hotels can only hope to emulate.

Such a gorgeous hotel, starting with the decor of the lobby. You cannot fault the hotel at all, the rooms are stunning, there is a great gym and swimming pool, the breakfast buffet has everything you could want and the evening buffet is out of this world! The best food I have had in China. However, it is the service that makes it so special, the staff are all lovely and welcoming and the Hotel Manager Robert goes above and beyond in all cases! So thankful for having such great service, will definitely be remembered! Thankyou!

What an absolutely amazing time I had at this hotel. The rooms are beautiful, the staff are extremely helpful and will always go above and beyond what you ask! Robert the Hotel Manager was extremely kind, friendly and always willing to help me. There is a mall with a supermarket, Starbucks and everything you could need three minutes away. They had a lovely restaurant and gym! The evening buffet is especially a highlight, with seafood, sushi, meat, salad, basically everything you could want in a buffet! Overall, one of the better hotels I have EVER stayed at. Highly recommend.

I stayed here for 2 weeks with my partner whilst working in Kunming. From the moment we arrived, being met at the front door by Robert, the general manager, and his team with tea and cool towels, we could not have been more spoiled for our whole stay. Our room was out of this world, with little extra touches like chocolates and local gifts and a Welcome in flower petals on our bed. To say that Robert and his immaculate staff bent over backwards for our whole company would be an understatement! The constant offer of car drop offs, the use of the hotel shuttle bus, treats and presents....even a full day excursion to Shilin Stone Forest for 14 of us - nothing was too much bother. Breakfast was extended by half and hour for our convenience and there was a great choice of breakfast options. A group of us took advantage one night of the all-you-can-eat buffet one night which was incredible. An amazing array of food - the seafood bar was to die for, with excellent sashimi prepared for you, crab, prawns, mussels, etc. The staff at the Wanda Vista are so friendly and helpful and although not all speak English well, they are well trained to cope with all requests. Daily request for ice in our room was speedy. After a trip to the Dounan night flower market we asked for a vase and some scissors - when the lady arrived, she insisted on preparing the roses we had bought for us herself - stripping the thorns, cutting and arranging the flowers beautifully. Just another example of the extra length the staff go to to accommodate. There is so much to do in Kunming, the climate is temperate all your round - a relief from the humidity we’d experienced in other cities. Wanda Vista is in a perfect location to get to most things and cabs are so cheap and the staff will always order or hail one for you. We didn’t want to leave the hotel, we had such an incredible time here. Although we were working, the way we were treated made us feel as if we were on holiday. Thank you Robert and staff for making our stay more than memorable. We arrived as strangers, but we left as friends.

We stayed here for 2 nights as a family, it’s a fabulous place, very spectacular hotel and great location. Very nice restaurants and a huge Mall and loads of other shops just next door. Nice pool with baths and sauna. Staff were wonderful and so helpful, we left something in our room and one of them rushed it all the way out to the airport, lifesaver! Thanks so much!!

Very nice hotel with fantastic food, customer service, features, gym, friendly staff, clean rooms etc. The staff go out of their way to help our group and we’re very friendly. A negative is they let too many people smoke within the hotel resulting in the building smelling like an stale cigarette smoke. The other negative is there are many mosquitoes in the bar area at night time. I’m sure this can be easily fixed. Overall, the positives far outweigh the negatives and I would recommend staying here for a business trip.

I was booked at his hotel by business partner for an overnight visit. It was situated in a big commercial complex by the same developer, and about 30 min by taxi from airport and shorter from the real city centre. Rather new property with a grand lobby area, front counter staff was friendly and check-in process was a bliss in that I was also upgraded to the club floor rooms. Very spacious room with big bed and high quality amenities. Free wifi with reasonable speed, flat panel TV and small pantry offering tea, coffee of different kinds and makes. Bathroom was clean and equipped with enclosed partition for the toilet to enhance privacy. Very quiet in room although it was adjacent to a big shopping mall with shops and restaurants. Lights and utilities switches were clearly marked so that you wouldn't have to spend an hour of trial and error to figure out which was which. Pillow and mattress were of very high quality and of the right firmness for me which made for excellent sleeping quality. Didn't try their restaurant except the cafe for breakfast. Good spread of food choices and forthcoming and eager wait staff. What could make the experience better seemed to be more professional training to the restaurant staff for soft skills of service. Overall a very pleasant stay, and will definitely return the next time.

All has been great / room clear and clean / great wifi / excellent breakfast . English is a problem but you can always manage to find your way with somebody who speaks a bit. Overall very good value for money.

We had a great experience at the Wan da hotel. It started with the front desk, they were very courteous and helpful...even walked us over to the elevators. WE found the room very clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable...something that is hard to find in China. we ate at the mall next to the hotel and then had the breakfast buffet at the hotel. It was a very nice breakfast. They had western foods... eggs, pancakes, waffles and the best donuts I have had in Kunming. The also had fruit, noodles and Chinese food for breakfast. when we checked out the staff offered to help us get a taxi. overall we had a very pleasant experience and are very likely to go again.

Stayed at Wanda Vista for a total of 4 nights (2 stays) in April. Our room on higher floor is huge and comfortable. Hotel restaurants (3, including buffet breakfast) are quite good. There're a good selections for buffet breakfast - continental, traditional Chinese/Local (Kunming) and western style. Hotel staffs are professional and friendly. Service is good. There is shopping mall with a super market near by.

Stayed for one night before going home. Booked a superior deluxe room and was upgraded. All staff were efficient, polite, friendly, responsible and helpful, even the hotel housekeeping and the health centre staff. Room was bigger than expected, clean and well equipped . The hotel had no odor of cigarette smoke and grease which lots of mainland hotels have. The Chinese restaurant is really a gem with great Chinese food, though pricey but it’s all worth it. A plus point is that it is also smoke free. Buffet is really good with great soya milk and fried dough. The gym is also well equipped with a 25 meter swimming pool, jacuzzi and steam room.

I have been in the Wanda Vista Kunming for two nights during a business trip in China. The staff at the reception was very good and communication in English was not a problem. The Hotel is located very close to the Wanda shopping mall, a great place for foreigners.

Our room is clean and nice. Wifi speed was acceptable. There was a mall next to the hotel which you can do some shopping. Food was up to standard. There was mosquitoes near the corner at the lobby while we were having a chat on the couch. We did inform the front desk about it but we were informed they have not dealt with the situation before hence they did not know what to do.

Room is clean and staff are friendly. There is a great shopping mall next to hotel and it has several eating outlets just round the corner. Overall, I like the friendly staff and ambience. It is just on the edge of town center and quite convenient to move around whether for business or leisure. Good stay and I'll go back again when going to Kunming.

Location is not bad, right next to a mall with international brands in there. Rooms are spacious but with weird restrictions like the fact that aircon couldn't be adjusted to desired temperature. The technician came twice and both times said that it's centrally controlled, but it was really warm in the room and we couldn't do anything about it. In room dining service: maybe we went on a busy day but our food took 2 hours to come. It was way ridiculous and we had called way in advance to order. After many calls to chase and even offering to go collect cutleries and food ourselves, the food came, but 2hrs late. Service was slow, each time we requested for extra water or something from housekeeping, waiting time was at least 15min. Overall you can tell it wants to be like an international 5-star hotel but really, there's still a long way to go.

My wife and I stayed there for almost a week before going out to the countryside to explore. I'm a tough reviewer and tell it like it is for better or worse. In a nutshell, this Wanda Vista is top notch! Every department was on the ball. ok, some details - to start with, the gym and facilities were second to none. Their steam room and sauna are clean, super hot and easy to operate. They have a cold and hot tub as well. Lockers are spacious and the indoor pool is a comfortable 28 degrees. (29 is better, but one degree is ok) The gym has a full compliment of modern equipment with towels, water and even sterilized headphones. Each day was like a spa day spending time in their great facilities! The rooms are modern, well lit and 5 star all the way. Breakfast has all the extras like many other 5 star hotels: made-to-order Omelets, made-to-order noodles and a healthy selection of veggies for a salad as well as all the 'dinner food' common in Chinese culture. There's also many other dishes that I don't even know. They bake their own breads and pastries as well so all very fresh. Even the woman that clean the rooms are super efficient (like robots!) and friendly. Being just a few seconds away from a large, modern mall makes it easy to find any type of restaurant. Perhaps being too far to walk to the subway may be a negative, but a taxi will be less than 15rmb and a 3-wheeled taxi is 10rmb. Less than 10 minutes away. The only glitch occurred when an unfamiliar charge from the Hotel appeared on my bank statement. After contacting them, it was removed. It's a good sign when a Hotel can fix the occasional problem as well. They did not drop the ball or pass it on. If I could assign 6 stars to this property, I would as they are well deserved. Looking forward to staying there again in the future. Howard S.
