The Claremont

Loved the location as my son lives n First Avenue so location perfect for my trip. Also he had his daughter’s christening n the Claremont on Sunday July 29.

De tuin was achter het huis gelegen.

De voordeur klemde. Wij hebben geslapen op de zolderkamer. Hier waren kleine ramen en te weinig ventilatie. Het was ontzettend warm. Het bed maakte veel geluid. De deur van de kamer was heel laag. De prijs voor deze kamer is erg hoog. Wij hadden gekozen voor dit verblijf, vanwege de hoge reviews. Deze zijn naar onze mening niet terecht.

Sympathisches, angenehmes, typisch englisches B&B. Einzelzimmer gross genug. Schöner Garten. Nähe zum Strand.

Hoher Preis für ein Einzelzimmer mit Frühstück. (Hochsaison, Brighton war schon Monate vor meinem Aufenthalt ziemlich ausgebucht...)

The hotel was beautiful .

Breakfast was a bit too late for me

Very good breakfast. The staff was very helpful and kind. The Claremont is very cosy and with a good location.

The price was a litle bit too much… increased by the several local events. The Nick Cave concert and Pride Parade.

Room very small, quite hot. Could do with an iron & ironing board actually in the room.

the hotel was in a great location with plenty of parking available close to the hotel and at a reasonable cost.

Cosy place close to Brighton & Hove beach

Spotlessly clean property! Super friendly staff as well. Definitely recommend this place if you intend om visiting Brighton! I will definitely stay here again if I come back to Brighton.

Staff super-friendly. Nice room. I have stayed here 3 or 4 times and I always come back when I am working in Brighton.

Parking would be hard if you brought a car (I didn't).

Location, features, art!

Can be a bit noisy at night because of the great location but thoughtfully ear plugs were provided as was a fan for the room during the recent hot weather.

Fabulous location in Hove close to restaurants, cafes, shops and the beach. Lovely Victorian features in the hotel and great choice of local artwork for sale. My room was huge and the bed was very comfortable and a good ensuite shower.

Nothing really - it was a hot stay but not much the hotel could do apart from provide a fan which they did. Lighting in the room was rather dim - perhaps needed lighter coloured lampshades.

An airconditioner would really make a difference on hot nights.

Perfect location for me with quick and easy access to the cricket ground, the sea and Hove's central street with cafes, etc. It's also only roughly a 20-minute walk into Brighton. Really enjoyed the 5 nights I stayed. The building is well-maintained and quiet. The room is a good size, welcoming, and comfortable with a well-stocked tea tray. I would recommend and would be very happy to return.

I have stayed at The Claremont on several occasions before but , this time, they upgraded me to a beautiful large room with a four poster bed. It was a delight and so was the stylish bathroom. I had gone for the weekend to attend my best Friends daughter's Wedding and honestly , the room made me feel so special on such a special weekend.

There was a slight problem with the toilet on the last day not flushing properly. It is what can be expected in these older featured properties but it didn't hinder my stay. I obviously reported it on check-out .

Interesting hotel, with a bit of the building's history in the info pack. Welcome was warm. Breakfast range had lots of choice.

The information on Booking.com about parking and the Booking.com email which told me less than 24 hours before our stay that we needed to give 24 hours notice that we required breakfast - hotel accommodated with less notice thankfully.

We love the Claremont. We had a smaller room than usual this time but it was still great. The location is perfect and we had a look in the garden this time too.

Very clean, safe and comfortable. It’s very hard to find clean and safe accommodation in Brighton, so this is a good find. It’s spotlessly clean. Very quiet too, no loud partying groups like in central Brighton Beautiful crisp clean linen Like the ‘room only’ rate as most work trips / expenses are now heavily scrutinised / capped with the economic insecurity so it helps to reduce costs

Low water pressure Quite expensive for one night but that said all accommodation in Brighton (and the UK) is now VERY expensive and generally over priced. That’s the rise in costs of everything and not the providers fault

Loved the decor. I felt very relaxed. Beautiful Victorian architecture. Fun walking up the creaky stairs. It certainly had a lot of charm and character. Bedroom was lovely overlooking the pretty gardens. Breakfast choices were excellent. Just enough too choose from the menu.

The room was very warm, trying to work out how to turn the thermostat down was difficult. I had the window open up all night ( safe& secure) .

Staff were all lovely and friendly Room was very clean and good selection of teas, coffee biscuits etc. Bed was comfy and sheets felt good quality. Breakfast was tasty.

Felt a bit dated and could do with a lick of paint. Water pressure poor and hot water kept going cold in shower. Room (12) smelt strange and the bottle of water tasted clinical. Quite expensive for just two nights.

I loved the uniqueness and style of the property. It was cozy, and felt like home away from home. I LOVED the location, maybe best location I’ve ever had from a hotel. So close to so many fantastic restaurants, shops, and not to mention 5 minutes from the beach! Also a great pick for solo travel! The single room was perfect.

The walls are very thin so you can hear neighbor’s conversations, but the staff can’t really help that it is an old building. Just something to keep in mind.

A very warm and friendly welcome is top of my list. The room was comfortable and very clean. A huge bed which was also very comfortable with lovely bedding. I liked that they provide everything you could possibly need…even down to black makeup flannels so that you don’t have to worry about ruining the white towels.

Location was perfect for me. A little noisy outside early in the evening but quietened right down by bedtime. I got upgraded to a bigger room for my stay which was lovely and the room was really pretty and comfortable.

Needed a bit of extra loo roll left in the bathroom - I had to conserve the little I had until morning!!

Staff were lovely and very accommodating. Room was clean with nice facilities. Location was ideal, close to the beach and local bars, restaurants, independent businesses.

Pillows were slightly too firm, but that is just personal preference.

Traveling alone, I found the single room ideal for one night and conveniently situated for the Brighton half marathon. The single bed was amazing and comfortable.

The staff were unfailingly cheerful, willing and helpful - even suggesting we moved to a different room so we didn't have to manage so many stairs. The food was excellent and we were offered tea and scones when we arrived.

A loo seat that didn't fit the loo and wobbled - but a minor quibble in an otherwise wonderful stay.

The breakfast was delicious. I had to arrive quite late in the evening (when no one was on duty) but the staff provided very clear instructions and a lovely welcoming letter.

Being November near the sea the rooms were cold and difficult to warm. The shower water in the morning was also tepid.

Rooms are spacious and comfortable with friendly staff. Definitely recommend.
