location was excellent. They even gave me a free room upgrade.

My phone did not recognize the taxis no. Had to ring manager at 6am for a taxi which i might add he did. But there was another phone in lobby which was not connected maybe have that available for early morning departures.

Clean

Reception desk staff extremely helpful and courteous. Location perfect for me as I was utilizing Via Rail and BC Ferries. Clean, comfortable, and quiet.

There really wasn’t anything to not like.

Quieter residential area, modern amenities.

Not at all soundproof nor ideal for privacy. Nearby local in town for medical reasons-- requested quiet quarters. Was given a room in 4 bedroom unit, directly next to kitchen, common area, and laundry machines. Loud European guests doing laundry right next to my room past 10pm, occupying common area noisily nearly all day, and loudly (above my room) preparing for their departure at 430 am. Stayed many times in the past, likely never again. High price for lack of peace and privacy.

Geräumig, sauber. Ausstattung, Gebäude und Mobiliar etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber alles funktional und nicht schäbig und zu abgenutzt. Zwei separate Schlafzimmer, perfekt für 4 Erwachsene. Es gab alles, was man brauchte, auch in der Küche.

Bad etwas sehr klein. Geschirrtuch und Spülmittel haben wir keines vorgefunden oder wir waren blind. Parkplätze sind nicht so viele vorhanden. Wenn nachts alle mit der Fähre kommen, kann es sein, dass man schauen muss, wo man sein Auto noch unterbringt. Der Betreiber war aber sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Wir hatten ein neues oder neu renoviertes Zimmer, zwar relativ klein für zwei Personen, aber als Teil eines Appartementes war auch ein grosses Wohnzimmer mit Küche dabei. Alles sehr sauber und das Personal sehr hilfsbereit (der Herr am Empfang scheint nie zu schlafen).

Es hat keinen öffentlichen Verkehr zum Fährhafen und zum Bahnhof, also immer Taxi

Good clean bright rooms

We booked a queen bed. The room had it's own bathroom but you share kitchen and living room with 3 others. You hear.nsise from common areas in your room.

Les chambres sont propres . L'espace cuisine et la salle à manger collective permettent des rencontres et discussions avec d'autres visiteurs.

Accueil assez impersonnel, dans un hôtel l'accueil est parfois plus chaleureux .

No breakfast was provided? The location was convenient. I enjoyed the apartment style accommodation for common space to spend time together.

Staff was decently helpful, but we had to move rooms and had to wait for check in which was inconvenient. The room we moved into had a bed that wasn’t as comfy and the bathroom was not as clean.

Empfang war jedoch freundlich. Für 1 Nacht erträglich. Lage gut, da in der Nähe der Fähre.

Wir bekamen ein anders aussehendes Zimmer und zwar im Nebengebäude und nicht wie in der Abbildung bei der Buchung ersichtlich war im Hauptgebäude. Der gemeinsame Zimmereingang führte zuerst durch eine gemeinsame Küche und von dort in 2 separate Zimmer, d.h. das Nebenzimmer wurde von einem anderen Gast bewohnt - speziell! Der ganze Boden im ganzen Nebengebäude war total schräg und die Aussenfassade war ringsum in Metall gehüllt.

Great location pet friendly

I picked this place because of the location. It was within walking distance for what I needed. Also a short drive to the ferry. The mattress was firm and the bedding was inviting.

I have blackout curtains in my room at home, I missed not having the same here.

The exterior of the building looks nice. The location really is the best part of the experience.

We were staying in a shared suite room. Which was odd that it even existed, I was surprised to learn it was shared. I booked through bookings.com and it was not clear I was booking a shared room, until I arrived on site. The lobby office was messy and unprofessional. The front office staff were not the most personable or welcoming. The shared space in the unit was clean and but to be honest I didn’t even go in there except to get into my room, the room itself was mostly clean in the most important areas (sheets were clean, tub was clean) but the areas where it was just for aesthetics…. Was disgusting. A weird splatter on the tv, a gross film of grime build up with items that you would occasionally come in contact with, outdated and significantly damaged furnishings which included a tv that was on its last legs, and appliances within the room that looked Temu fresh… the renovations were clearly done by someone in house and likely by someone who was given limited tools and budget. The chain to support locking the door was hidden in a drawer. I ended up installing the chain myself. I would most likely recommend this unit to someone who has slighted me in the past.

Sehr schönes Zimmer mit Balkon Untern befindet sich ein grosser Aufenthaltsraum mit einer gut eingerichteten Küche.

Alles war super. Der Rezeptionist hat uns für den morgigen Tag sogar ein Taxi 🚕 organisiert. Besten Dank. Lg.Christoph

Saubere und geräumige Unterkunft, nettes Personal, die Küche ist gut ausgestattet und ein Plus. Für einen Zwischenstopp in Prince Rupert eine gute Wahl.

Comfy bed

Not sure sharing à kitchen / lounge is my thing . I should have paid more not to share with à stranger. My fault I guess .

I enjoy the residential setting of Black Rooster Guesthouse. It is close to downtown Prince Rupert, allowing easy exploring of the area. But it is far enough away that you feel like you are at home, once you return to the guesthouse.

I don't know how the shared kitchen rules would work. I was the only person in the shared apartment the first night. The second night, there was another couple, who arrived and used the kitchen. If I didn't use the kitchen, but the other guests leave it in a state that requires the penalty payment, would this be applied to me??

Sehr einfach. Zimmer in 2 Zimmer-Appartement. Kaffeegeruch schon früh am Morgen von 2. Bewohner. Sehr einfach. An großer Straße gelegen!

Very stylish guesthouse. Shared kitchen had lots of fridge room room for overnight food storage. 6th ave west is a very busy street (noisy) for street facing rooms.

Don't think there is any insulation between adjoining walls. Almost felt like neighbors were talking in our room. Concept here is designed like a b+b without the breakfast. Prince Rupert accommodation is ridiculously expensive for what you get. At least this place was quality for the price. We would stay here next year.

Les informations erronées du gérant au sujet des musées qui nous ont fait ajouter une nuit alors qu'il n'y a rien d'ouvert le lundi, la propreté moyenne, les souris dans le salon et la salle de bain, l'aspect vieillot du mobilier, le parking devant la fenêtre de la chambre et le bruit de la rue.

Nice to have a space for 4 adults to share and use the kitchen.

A little out of the way …

We were a group of 4 ladies on a girls night out. The 2 bedroom apartment with a pullout couch in the living room was appealing to us.

The property has a lot of potential and good set up with ease in checking in and out. However, we were very disappointed with the cleanliness of the room as it was very apparent it is in need of a deep clean. A lot of dust and grime on surfaces, as well as handprints on walls. The base of the toilet was very dirty as well as the floor area in the bathroom. We watched a movie and prepared for bed at 11 pm when we noticed there was no bedding for the pullout couch. When we pulled out the couch I noticed there were sheets on the bed, but so much dirt was visible in exposed areas, i definitely didn’t trust the condition of the sheets and closed it up and just slept on top of the couch. I tried messaging to ask for pillows and bedding but it was too late and never got a reply till the morning. I would expect those items to be available in the room, never noticed there were no closets till it was too late. It was nice that they had filtered water available in the main lobby..however, the kitchen area down there was quite dirty as well.

It's a different vibe than a hotel and it is unique and clean. It's like an airBNB but bettwr!

Wifi was a little weak which was hard for laptop work, but is that really the wrost thing in our world??

We stayed in 1 of three buildings that make up this property. It had a nice kitchen at ground level and 4 bedrooms ( with baths) upstairs. This would be great for four couples traveling together.

People off the late ferry from Port Hardy arrived around 1 am which was noisy. The street out front was also a bit noisy. There was a boil water advisory for the city and the property did not supply any drinking water but suggested and we should boil our own. They should at least have a bottle or two of water for arriving guests.This seems very cheap .

We were warmly welcomed even arriving quite late, the gentleman mentioned that he is used to it as he waits for guests arriving from the ferry. He was very helpful, kind. We had a room in one of the houses, on the first floor. Large roome, very comfortable bed, large bathroom. Besides, if you stay enough time, you have the use of the full ground floor as if you were at home ! Super nice experience, would definitely recommend this place for anyone who stay at Prince Rupert for a night or more.
