Personnel pas du tout sympathique et serviable. Sauf à l'accueil. Les espaces extérieurs et l'entrée de l'hôtel ne sont pas entretenus. La présentation des aliments au petit déjeuner n'est pas avenante. Impossibilité de dîner au restaurant le soir. Nous avons dû manger au bar, nous n'étions pas bien installés et le repas était servi froid.

The staff at the desk were all very pleasant and hospitable. The breakfast staff were very kind and helpful, polite and friendly.

The place needs to be updated. The rooms need refurbishing and the bathrooms need to be renovated. The carpets throughout the hotel and staircase need to be replaced or removed. The breakfast was sad but thankfully the staff at breakfast were very kind, helpful and friendly.

The building was nice

The line to dial the number to reception was not working no light in toilet in one of bed room .. no water in the room no glass to drink water no one came for make sure we need anything overall not happy with the stay not value to money It was a damp stem

The rooms were very spacious, and the parking was excellent. We also received a warm welcome from one of the staff members when we arrived.

Unfortunately, the hotel felt quite dated and some areas could use a bit more attention and updating. Overall, it just didn’t quite live up to our expectations.

The property is a little run down in places (bathrooms and carpets). Booked for dinner in restaurant but it was closed when we came down. We were told we could eat in the bar but it was very rowdy and the only table available was not clean. We ate elsewhere.

big hotel, dated, but very comfy. Rooms are huge breakfast is very good for the scottish standard definitely value for money 24hrs concierge, you can check-in at any time and that is definitely convenient if you are coming from Inverness or the glencoe area

they could do a little bit more in terms of contacts with the distilleries in the area, which are the to go destinations. once renewed/refurbished, the rooms will be amazing

Das Zimmer und die Toiletten waren sehr sauber. Etwas in die Jahre gekommenes Hotel. Für gehbehinderte Personen nicht empfehlenswert, da es sehr viele Treppen hat.

Wir mussten einige Zeit an der Rezeption warten bis uns jemand den Zimmerschlüssel aushändigte.Die Koffer musste man selber ziemlich weit die Treppen hoch tragen.

The location was within reach of many iconic tourist sites, the room spacious & staff very attentive, especially at breakfast.

Floors a little creaky, though that is to be expected due to the charming historic heritage of the old coaching house section!

The hotel and staff are very good. Breakfast had a lot of choice and quality of food was great. Our room was large and had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend and we would definitely return.

Unfortunately we didn’t think the evening meals were nearly as good as the last time we visited. All frozen foods quickly cooked and very poor quality. Would return but I would have to look somewhere else in the village for my evening meal. 🙁🙁

Der Blickazs dem Fenster des Zimmers auf die Umgebung war sehr schön. Das Zimmer war sehr groß.

Die Badewanne konnte nicht genutzt werden, da der Einlauf nur über den festmontierten Duschkopf möglich gewesen wäre. Die schweren Koffer mussten die letzte Etage über eine gewendelte Treppe geschleppt werden. Das Frühstück war nicht soo lecker, nix frisches.

The room was comfortable although the hotel is very old and creaky. I guess that adds character but the extent of the creaky limited the value. Bed was comfortable although a bit short for me, towels soft, bathroom water pressure and temperature excellent. It is a small and quiet town. Breakfast the first day was not so great as we regular guests were competing with bus loads that were being served in another dining room. Perhaps their resources were extended and their personnel were understaffed. But the second morning, breakfast was very good and I noted no bus loads in the other dining area -- so a connection. The florescent lights in the room did not work. Parking great and Wi-Fi good. All the staff, including the sassy breakfast worker, were friendly and helpful.

The room was okay it felt a little dated but was comfortable and clean and had everything we needed. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Not much on offer for gluten free breakfast just had fried eggs and bacon as the scrambled eggs had bits of haggis in from the shared spoons so I didn't risk it. The coffee was not good at all!

Nice location, very quiet and near the castle

An old “grand hotel” in the middle of the Highlands. Room was airy and comfortable and it had all the facilities it needed. Reasonable price for high-season.

It was a little dated in places - but overall the positives outshone the negatives.

Staff member Katerina was only really the decent part of this stay.

Being told we couldn't stay for our full 3 nights and had to be moved out on the 3rd night to another location. On the first night being put directly above a disco and the room was vibrating. Majority of staff were rude/disinterested about my needs and only really cared for tour groups. The walls and carpets were worn and very old.

Frühstück war okay, aber der Kaffee war mit Sicherheit aus Pulverkaffee und richtig schlecht. Das Fenster im Zimmer war nur zu kippen, nicht zu öffnen, das andere gar nicht zu öffnen. Die Teppiche sind uralt, und nicht mehr so richtig sauber.

This hotel is in desperate need of a full renovation—it feels like stepping back into the 1800s. The carpet has an unpleasant smell and everything seems frozen in time a century ago. On the positive side, the breakfast was good and the parking was very convenient. It worked fine for us as a quick stopover on our way to Edinburgh."

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Good location, close to shops, restaurants and train station.

Our room could do with a bit of TLC, Curtains hanging off some of the hooks, and holes in the backing lining. The shower head had quite thick limescale and the bath could do with re-enamelling.

L'hotel aveva delle zone comuni veramente retrò, buie, terre, con una moquette vecchissima e e sporca. La colazione è stata mediocre con poca scelta di alimenti dolci.

La ubicación, el ambiente y el personal son sus puntos fuertes, hablamos con 3 húngaros muy pero muy amables y Rami un escocés que nos servia el desayuno. Es un hotel antiguo y tradicional, con mucho encanto, y está muy bien situado para recorrer las Highlands.

La grifería necesitaba un poco de atención, ya que había que apretar bastante el grifo para evitar que siguiera goteando. Me esperaba un poco más del desayuno : por ejemplo frutos secos y pancakes y algo de nutella.

Friendly staff. Big rooms. Lots of lounge space with loads of board games for a rainy day . Barman very fun and really good choice of beer.

Breakfast coffee was instant coffee and was pretty awful. A change to a nice fresh filtered coffee would be a massive improvement to the breakfast (which was otherwise good). The bar was great, but the food for dinner wasn't.

We liked the ambience of the hotel,lovely pictures displayed. Also a very efficient receptionist. Meals were yummy. The hotel was an excellent stop over on our way home.

Stunning, authentic vibes, old timey feel, big rooms, comfy beds, gorgeous views from window, the staff were SO lovely. I arrived early and the receptionist went to go find the cleaner and grab my key and let me check in an hour before I was supposed to I really appreciated that.

Could use a fridge in the room that’s about it.

The hotel is quite dated and in need of some modernisation. The décor is a little shabby and honestly really dusty. The bathroom sink and bath were both chipped.

Requested twin beds were a large size, room was large and clean. There was playoff free parking and views from room were lovely. Breakfast had a good selection and was good.

Decor in room was dated, as was bed linen. Bathroom needed somewhere to hang towels next to shower and somewhere to put things in the shower like a shelf.

All show and very little substance. No bar snacks available, no decaffeinated coffee in lounge bar, too heavy duvet for a summer night, curtains ineffective, breakfast appeared to be the tepid leftovers from coach parties.

The staff were friendly and did everything they could to make us happy. The rooms though not particularly spacious have everything you need. Breakfast included, tho small variety, very tasty.

Some rooms need a bit of tlc. Loose shelves wardrobe upgrade to match doors or vice versa. Food wasn't the best quality but tasty and filled the hole.

The public area of the hotel were very tired looking and obviously not getting cleaned or dusted. Carpets on stairs very worn.

Parking, clean and breakfast was ok

Everything was great, dining room fantastic and food great and great value. The only downside was that the decor in the room was very worn tired and dated, but clean, but but the floor in the bathroom creaked and groaned with everystep! The bath and basin had bits missing, chips in the enamel in the bath and chips in the porcelain of the basin. The shower was fixed so could not wash hair without getting under the shower! A bit disappointing compared to the rest of the hotel.

Der Empfang war freundlich und wir konnten früher einchecken, weil das Zimmer bereit war. Die Grösse des Zimmers war super und auch die Lage 5 min. vom Bahnhof. Beim Frühstücksbuffet gab es Früchte, Vollkorn Cerealien und Joghurt- nebst Full Scottish.

Das Hotel ist bereits älter und wirkt auch wie aus früheren Zeiten. Einiges müsste renoviert werden, wie z. B. die Verkleidung der Badewanne. Der Duschkopf war total verkalt und beim Radiator im Bad lugte ein Elektrokabel aus der Wand.

Good Location, near highlands and good food options nearby. (The photos are a bit misleading.) We especially enjoyed the Royal Tandori restaurant -just a short walk away. The Hotel breakfast was quite adequate and met expectations. We found delight in one staff member who bordered on being a comedian -and could easily see that some might not appreciate his humor and candor. But all staff were kind and trying to help.

The property has long seen its prime -more than just a bit dated, though clean and tidy. The rooms assigned to Booking guests are 'off the beaten path', and didn't provide a lift.

the hotel "ticked" all the boxes that i required for a 1 x night stay .....and was value for money... you get what you pay for.....

The staff member helping serve breakfast was more than a little "untidy " and although initially he verged on a little "abrasive " i'm giving him the benefit of the doubt and assuming it was just his style ... perhaps a little "guidance " from management re his approach and tidyness would help both him and customer perception .

An old building with what could be some beautiful original features. However it’s tired and in dire need of repair/renovation. Wall coverings peeling, plaster/walls/architraves cracking, black mold around en-suite sanitary fittings and windowsills distorted with possible water ingress. There was what we suspect to be faecal matter on a tile above the toilet. Overall very run down. Breakfast was underwhelming although hot. That said we’d have needed a jack hammer to get the porridge out of the chafer…not pleasant.

Das Hotel ist mit seiner Gesamtperformance insgesamt nicht mehr zeitgemäß und dem Preis nicht angemessen. Es lässt Pflege vermissen; z. B. lagen im Gastraum die Sonnenschirme herum, an der Beschriftung war ein Buchstabe herunter gefallen, Fenster im Gastraum nicht geputzt. Das Hotel ist anscheinend auf Busreisen für eine Nacht fokussiert.

Ideal location for where I was working the next day. Close to a shop.

I needed to leave at 7am but was bluntly told that breakfast is at 730. Or I could squeeze in with a coach party at 7am. I said all I want is some cereal. But they could not accommodate this and made no effort to be helpful. For example - could have told me there is a coop across the road open at 6am. (Which surprisingly provided a far warmer welcome than the hotel). I'd arrived just before 10pm after a long drive and went to the bar. Was snapped at by the bar maid that if I am having a drink at this time it must be card and not cash. beer was coming out like foam, so I sat down while they fixed it. Eventually they just left the beer on the bar, I know walking it to my table is a lot to ask, but could have at least called me over and said it was ready. Then while enjoying my pint, they cleared up the tables noisily around me, making it clear they were finished and snatched the candle from my table. Lovely. On way back to the room I asked reception if I can get my invoice early, to save time in the morning. She said "no need, reception is 24hrs" - The next morning I asked reception for my invoice only to be told "I'm just a night porter". and didn't ask how my stay was. I ended up having to drive back in the afternoon for the invoice and again - did not ask how my stay was. Very rude!!! Room was very dark and dated - bare wires and mould in the bathroom. I think they were maybe keeping a lion or tiger in the room next door as it was climbing the walls all night, Presumably as I said I was staying for work, I imagine I was put in one of the lesser rooms. Unfortunately when I am arranging accommodation for a large work team later in the year I will need to find somewhere else nearby. If you aren't a coach party - this hotel doesn't want you.

Staff were excellent and friendly.

Stayed on 3rd floor but lift only goes to 2nd floor resulting in lugging luggage up a steep stair. No help offered by reception on arrival. Very creaky floors but only to be expected I suppose in such an old building.

Great location and Saturday evening entertainment was excellent. (Michael Lewis).

The bar was closed early by Colin on Saturday at 9.30pm. There were six of us in the ballroom listening to the act and at least four people in the bar. Also, we were told by reception on Saturday evening that Sunday breakfast would be 8am till 9am rather than the advertised 8am till 10am. Not happy with these two issues.

The Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast buffet was well stocked and plenty variety to suit everyone.

Unfortunately due to ongoung renovation work we were without water on arrival and also in the morning. A minor inconvenience but a wee bit of notice regarding this wouldn't have gone amiss

Breakfast was really good a really good mixed selection of hot food not so much if you preferred a continental breakfast and the fact it was buffet style you could choose what you liked and how much.

The hotel itself is in a prime position and is need of a bit of an upgrade it is an old building. When we were there they were in fact refurbishing 6 bathrooms on the floor above us. It was a bit noisy at times but as we were out all day did not really bother us all that much.

Für eine Nacht akzeptabel. Es ist sauber. Frühstück als Buffet ist in Ordnung. Nichts Besonderes. Uns wurde ein Abendmenu angeboten- ohne Preisangabe - vermutlich das, was die Reisegruppen erhalten. Haben uns lieber für Fish & Chips bei Joe's entschieden. War super. Betten sind bequem.

Wird von Reisegruppen gebucht. Wir waren umgeben von Senioren. Die Flure waren gesäumt mit Rollstühlen. Personal ist anders als sonst auf unserer Rundreise auf das Minimum beschränkt freundlich. Unser Zimmer war düster, schlecht ausgeleuchtet. Es gibt so viel schönere und herzlicher geführte Hotels in Schottland. Wir empfehlen dieses hier nicht.

It was really comfortable and well maintained

The food. The hotel’s main business appears to be catering for coach parties and that was reflected in the food. The dinner menu offered very few options and in my opinion the cooked breakfast was tasteless. Private guests will be paying a great deal more for their stay and consequently should be offered a different menu to those travelling in coach groups.

Nice hotel, lovely stuff and good breakfast but it needs updating.

Location was good, first stop on your NC500 journey. Enough amenities in the local town Great Indian restaurant in the town, Royal Tandoori highly recommend

Very dated in decor, huge cracks in the walls, wallpaper coming off. Window sills swollen with damp and cracking, mould round the bath and a very limescale covered shower head. Ripped beside table lamps. Small kettle with coffee and sugar in the corner, we didn’t use it as the teaspoon were not clean. Breakfast - food was perfectly fine, good amount of choice. Odd waiting staff - my partner was referred to as “boss” as the waiter tried to take his plate, that he was still eating from… Very expensive for what you get.

Nettes Hotel mitten im Cairngorm Nationalpark. Wir haben, ohne zu fragen ein tolles Upgrade bekommen. Im Hotel kann man sehr gut zu Abend essen und in der Bar noch einen Schlaftrunk nehmen.

Die Treppen zum 1. Stock sind sehr steil und mit schweren Koffern sehr mühsam.

The location in the lovely village Kingussie and that you could just slid out the back door and enter the mountin trail!😃 And an extra 👏 for the breakfast, rich and well composed😋
