The bed was comfortable. The water was hot in the shower.

It’s apparent very little money has been put back into the property: chipped and peeling paint inside and out of the rooms, the wood deck outside the rooms. The toilet was so low it was difficult to get up off of it. No amenities on the property: bar or dining facilities. Parking in the upper lot last parking spot is a dangerous liability. I had to plead for extra towels!

Location

Property is drastically in need of updating. It’s well past its prime. Bathroom sink leaked and fixtures were well worn. The mattress was well used and not comfortable. The furniture was scratched and needed replacing.

The view from the upper deck was amazing

Close to everything. Management was very friendly.

Rooms had a musty smell, and floors were uneven. Breakfast was only fair. Bacon was undercooked. No fruit or yogurt. Very little choice.

The room had a wonderful view of the area and the bed was super comfortable.

I think the person in charge of the breakfast area could have been more welcoming and chatty to give visitors a better impression of such a wonderful place.

Great location. Gave us opportunity to ride the Cabiot Trail and get back for diner. Breakfast was good. Grounds and view were great!

Location was great - overlooking the lake and walkable to downtown area! Outdoor garden and areas were very nice with chairs to sit on and enjoy the views!

The place needs renovation! It was very outdated with tired looking furniture and floors. Bathroom was old! I thought the AC was about to explode! It rumbled and roared all night making sleeping very difficult. We eventually turned it off! The included breakfast was terrible and meagre. Second day we just skipped it and went elsewhere.

Our bathroom had black mold on the shower tiles. Breakfast buffet had breads and cereals plus hot eggs and either bacon or sausage patties but would have been nice to have had yogurt and/or fruit.

The bedroom floor was sloped so that the foot of the bed was higher than then head of the bed making it impossible to sleep comfortably.

The temperature in the shower was totally unpredictable and uncontrollable. In a very short space of time it could go from warm to scalding hot to freezing cold. The scalding part was quite dangerous. The room was very tired for the price paid

Parle pas Français, donc on a eu de la difficulté à se comprendre. Manque de fane dans la salle de bain. mais somme toute nous avons apprécié notre séjour.

Anything that you want in on accommodation this place give to you I recommend this place to anyone that is planing a trip to Baddeck Nova Scotia

Les chambres sont propres. L’hôtel est bien situé, il est facile de se promener à pied dans Baddeck. Le site est joli.

Absence de fruits au petit déjeuner. Aucun tri des déchets (recyclage, compost).

The location

The beds are very old, the air conditioners don’t work well, the rooms are dated and dirty, and the building is loud with thin walls and ceilings.

Breakfast could have been better. The bacon should have been done better, could have added potatoes and some muffins to the breakfast.

Did not like that there was not a microwave in the room.

Great location. Lodge is dated, but very clean. Bed was great. Breakfast was adequate, but could have been a bit more - Gluten free bread and bagels as well as fresh fruit would have been appreciated. I would rate our stay 7.5 out of 10.

Air conditioners were a bit noisy.

Bathroom especially very tired and dated. Very frustrated to be told the hairdryer works fine if you have the bathroom light on! No signage or mention of it at all!! Just assumed it was broken.

The beds were comfortable. The room was clean. It was quiet except every time people walked up the stairs we felt it on the other side of the wall. The food was okay. The grounds and buildings were very pretty. It was close to restaurants and the ceilidh.

The floor was uneven. The shower was scary. It creaks loudly to turn off and on or if they were using it on the floor above us. Suddenly the water went cold and I had to turn it off to get it right again.

Excellent location out of the main flow of town and quiet but still very accessible to all town facilities. Primary structure is historic, and multiple additional housing units supplement it on the property. Rooms are clean and quiet. Breakfast was adequate and efficient.

Limited hot breakfast selection (only precooked flat scramble eggs and bacon). Lots of slice toast available to make your own breakfast sandwich but no other ‘hot’ options. The bathroom looked & felt extremely run down (we stayed in the Skyline lodge ) and though we had made reservations for 4 ppl only 2 towels were provided and 1 small bottle of shampoo. We had to go to the main house/lobby to request for basic necessities. Room did not feel clean.

Established property being allowed to run down. Paint chipped in rooms and public areas. Landscaping is not kept up, garden walks not edged, moss on sidewalks. Hard to watch such a lovely property being used to extract cash but not being maintained.

It is in a good location, close to restaurants and other services. The breakfast was actually good for me. Sausage and eggs. coffee and orange juice.

I found the bed mattress very hard.

It definitely needs an update. When we plugged anything in to any of the sockets, they would fall out because the sockets are just old. The bed was comfortable, however we slept on top of the comforter because we seen 2 small blood specks on the fitted sheet.

This is a fairly basic motel, but so are most of the other places to stay in Baddeck. The rooms were fine, the breakfast was adequate, and it was convenient for nearby restaurants. My one major bugbear was that the TV didn't receive any of the channels showing the World Cup! Staff were very helpful.

It was really old and dirty. I wouldn’t stay there again and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone!

Emplacement, personnels, bon petit déjeuner; Œufs, saucisses, bacon, céréales, roti pain blanc et ou brun.. café jus d'orange... confiture, beurre d'arachide.. marmelade... Cafetière dans chambre. etc..

TV seulement 2 postes, Il y a eu bruit sourd provenant du 2 ième étage, sûrement émanant de l'air climatisé ( 1ière nuit sur 3). Le ventilateur de la chambre de bain fait un bruit très fort.. :-( La porte d'entrée de la chambre a besoin de réparation.. ne ferme pas bien..

It was rundown and not maintained. We had bugs in the bathroom and a broken window. The staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. We had to leave early.

The location is great.

The sheets on the beds were clean. But the top comforter was stained on both beds. Shower head in bathroom was like a power washer and not at all enjoyable. Bathroom fixtures need updating. Would not return to this lodging.

Awesome central location to see everything. Super friendly and helpful staff.

Super minor but I would have liked usb ports and the tv was the size of a small desktop computer screen.

Good comfortable motel on edge of Baddeck

The rooms are badly in need of an upgrade. The bed was comfortable, but the furniture is from the 1960's. Hole in the wall where the door handle went through it. Their fix was 2 - 2X4's nailed to the baseboard as a door stop. We had a room with a king bed and there was barely enough room to squeeze between the bed and the old TV cabinet. The tv was a 24" monitor. The front deck is badly in need of paint. We paid for a room with a continental breakfast, but they didn't provide the breakfast as they didn't have many guests. No refund or discount was available either. Stay somewhere else.

Was outdated, smelled musty, tight quarters, outdated furnishings, and tv.

The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The motel was very good value for the price. The quality was as good as any of the economy motels on the Cabot Trail. This was my second stay in the last year and I will stay again. the included breakfast was good and more than adequate to start the day.

Some finish like the bathroom vinyl was dated and worn, but clean. The shower was quite powerful and could probably use a lower flow shower head.

Beautiful view of lake with large windows and Adirondack chairs on deck. Very relaxing. Room was very clean with no hint of smoke smell. Excellent value for the price. Manager and staff were very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was high quality for complimentary (real fried eggs, although no fruit). Short walk into town as well as bar/restaurant right across street. We will definitely stay here again if we are in Baddeck.

Very old furniture. There was hair in the bed, not very nice

No breakfast...location was excellent.....room was clean....shower strong....excellent view of the Big Lake.....having the chairs outside the room offered a excellent place to view the beauty of the area.....with a glass of evening wine and a coffee in the morning 🌄

I had booked 4 rooms....and had no major complaints.....except several of my travel companions said their room was too warm??Also they were looking for to the Continental Breakfast

Nice and quiet. Right in the centre. One of the few places open in low season. Very good value.

The heating is a Bit loud.

Comfortable bed. Good value. Scent free bedding was appreciated. Clean rooms. Friendly staff. Located not far from the Co Op grocery store, and Needs convenience store. Tom’s pizza is close by and highly recommended.

Small tv. Plumbing had air in the pipes and was quite noisy at times. The rooms were small, not much room to move around. But the comfortable beds and reasonable price made up for all the negative aspects. I do recommend this motel.

The Continental breakfast was served in a nice space, food was the typical such as eggs, bacon, sausage, cereal, coffee and tea. Good central location with restaurants at walking distance.

The room had a smell that didn't really go away, even after opening the door and window. Bathroom fixtures were old.

Not so much a dislike , more a suggestion …marks and scratches on some furniture pieces could use a bit of touch up stain…how much work is that really .. A little bit of touch ups with paint where ceiling meets wall in the bathroom .. Nothing serious…just optics
