Rooms not as luxurious as the pictures portray. Very limited menu and expensive. Ran out of certain food /beer/ cider/ wine on a Saturday night!! Breakfast mediocre
Rooms and friendly atmosphere
Food seam to be expensive
Great location. Lovely self serve breakfast. Good bar.
We weren't informed ahead of our stay that the restaurant was closed due to a private function.
Not bad
Couldn't get in to book in. There was nobody around for information.
Breakfast was lovely also had dinner when we arrived which was also lovely. Staff were very helpful also the owners we’re outstanding and accommodating as they let me use another bathroom as our room was a wet room.
The room I booked was nice and spacious, very clean and the bed was comfy.
Whilst making a telephone enquiry about an early check in, I was greeted with a very rude and abrupt Irish woman. I wish I never asked the question! I was made to feel terrible about booking via booking.com - “with all due respect you didn’t even book direct with us and there would be no early check in fee if you did!” I was nervous about attending the property following the reception I received over the phone. The breakfast is okay but I recommend adding mushrooms and hash browns to the menu. I don’t eat pork and I don’t like beans so the only hot option I had was eggs. The usual breads and cereals are included also.
Cosy accommodation , quiet location and great breakfast. Very friendly and welcoming hosts . We have had a lovely night away.
Nothing to dislike
The pub is lovely we were attending an early wedding so just stayed one night. The staff was friendly, Breakfast was good. Plenty of sockets in the room.
The £20 early check in fee as we needed to change for the wedding and it was very hot . The shower in the room was a rain shower with no hand wand which I would have preferred but that's just me.
Rooms nicely decorated and clean. Comfy bed . Meals to a good standard
Breakfast choice was minimal but nicely cooked

We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this hotel. The atmosphere is so friendly and relaxing, and you can really feel the warm, welcoming environment created by both the owners and staff. Everyone went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and looked after. We originally booked this hotel because it was the closest to the wedding venue we were attending, but we ended up discovering a real hidden gem. This is genuinely one of the nicest places we have stayed. The hotel has such a lovely feel to it, and the views are absolutely incredible. We will definitely be staying here again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others.
Excellent breakfast Good quality produce
Nothing. Lovely room Great food Lovely outside space
Couldn't have asked for better hosts, had a great time, we'll be back.
The rooms are tastefully decorated and the bed comfy. Tea& coffee facilities in each room, breakfast good variety and tasty. Staff very friendly and bar food good. We stayed as we were attending a wedding nearby at the Outbarn. Would recommend this for a relaxing stay in the country , very quiet at night
Great owners Nice staff good pub
We stayed in the shepherds huts to celebrate joint birthdays. The huts weee beautiful - very clean, pretty and well furnished. We had our evening meal in the pub and it was absolutely excellent. All to a very high quality with a great selection of wine. We were made very welcome. Highly recommend.
Warm welcome and very attentive. Rooms were comfy and well equipped. Breakfast were great and plentiful.

Fran and her staff went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful 16 guests for my husbands surprise birthday.
Really quaint, well looked after accommodation. Staff were very helpful
Wonderful stay at the red pump, the inn was so homely and we were so well looked after by the wonderful staff, we are already planning our next stay.
Nothing, cannot recommend enough
A cosy pub with lovely rooms and very friendly hosts! Breakfast was also great 😊

Lovely comfortably bedroom
Everything was very nice
Really lovely night at this inn with rooms, everything very clean and nicely decorated. The staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was simple but good.
We booked a last-minute night away at The Red Pump Inn in Bashall Eaves, and it completely surpassed our expectations. The pub and accommodation are absolutely charming, with beautiful rooms, perfect location, and wonderful ambiance. However, this 275-year-old establishment had a few surprises up its sleeve! Not only was the food superb, but the 'spirits' were surprisingly friendly. Our room had a distinct energy that genuinely surprised a complete non-believer, and the wonderful hosts later confirmed the inn’s history of friendly paranormal activity. A truly unique and unforgettable stay—we will definitely be back!
This was the first time we'd stayed in a shepherd's hut. We were really surprised at how spacious it was, with everything you need. My husband's battling a serious health condition & needed to sleep as soon as we checked in. The bed & mattress which I think was memory foam, was really comfortable and he was asleep in no time. I loved the decor - a lot of thought had gone into the colour schemes, fabrics & co-ordinating soft furnishings. There's a fridge, full kitchen facilities and even a hairdryer & iron. The shepherd's hut was very clean as well. We liked just hearing birdsong and enjoying the peace & quiet. We had continental breakfast which was really nice including fresh berries, croissants, yogurts, cereals. Staff in the pub were really pleasant. Fran, the lady owner I booked with was incredibly helpful. Thank you for a lovely stay 😊
Lovely pub. Friendly welcome. Pubs interior is, cosy and in keeping with it's 200 year old age. The landlords are doing a great job with glamping yurts and shepherds huts that could host wedding guests. Our room was gorgeous and quiet overlooking the garden. The view surrounding the pub are amazing. We ate there and tge food was really good. Friendly locals. Breakfast served by a lovely lady. Would definitely stay again and would bring family to stay in the yurts. Also the number 11 from Clitheroe brought me to the door!
Fran was extremely accommodating . Lovely property . Lovely room and breakfast .

The venue and location is stunning, the food and service very poor. The menu was very mediocre and expensive. We ordered a sharing platter which when it arrived part of it was wrong so we had to wait for the correct item. I had the beef bourguignon chewy meat and tasteless,my dinner guest had the cheese and onion pie,.the pie is produced by Roy Porter butcher of Chatburn his pies are delicious but when it lands at the table looking like its just been taken out of the foil tray accompanied by chips and mushy peas at a price of £18 I think this is extortionate! They don’t have a wine list so it was pot luck what we had 2 bottles of French Fizz not the best and then we were overcharged on the bill.We normally go to the Inn at Whitewell but we thought we’d give this a chance but we won’t be going back. The whole set up is very unprofessional even down to the owners dog running around the restaurant!
Location excellent for where we was attending the wedding....nice cosy room looked like it could be a cosy drinking pub (sadly bar was not open)
sadly the bar was closed and no food serving for a evening meal. we was informed of this the evening before our stay. how ever would have be nice to have been informed at a early date
Fantastic place to stay. As soon as you walk in you know you have hit the jackpot with a cosy stay. Staff are so friendly and the food was incredible.

The owners were lovely and very friendly. The room was spotless and beautifully styled. The location was perfect for our needs. Breakfast was delicious. I would definitely recommend to others and would stay here again without hesitation
First impression not great, was stood at the bar whilst the barmaid had a very long chat with her friend, not even a hello to acknowledge our presence. The place was empty at this point so it wasn't as if she couldn't see us. However, the room was nice, the hotel has a cosy feel and breakfast was very nice. Breakfast is buffet style so its scrambled eggs but all very tasty, help yourself to toast etc. Large free car park and nice views from the rooms over fields (its very remote). Cleaning lady was lovely when I happened to say we were going to a wedding and it was a long time to the meal after breakfast and she gave me a few packs of biscuits to tide us over.
We had a lovely stay, on arrival staff were very welcoming !!! The room was lovely, and breakfast was amazing. Plenty of parking !! The main thing is we had a good night sleep, and had everything we needed, perfect !!!
Everything was perfect!!!
From checking in the staff are friendly, parking onsite, Breakfast was amazing, hot and everything you need. The only thing for me was the bathroom wasn't in the room, when I booked it did say private bathroom so presumed it was in the room. Would definitely stay again.
Breakfast was very fresh hotel was dog friendly
Breakfast was lovely and good quality produce
Got back from the event and would have liked a drink in the bar but bar was closed.
All the staff were very friendly and helpful, and very understanding about the problem on arrival of there being no running water due to a burst water main locally. The service was excellent throughout or stay. We both agreed that we would go again if we wanted a night away from home, for a break. Well Done to all.

Lovely room. Buffet breakfast including the hot food which meant soggy bacon and eggs. I'd have loved a freshly cooked option. Staff were rude while picking up room key so won't be staying again
We hired all the accommodation at the Red Pump for a 2 day family wedding in August 2025. It is fair to say that when we hired the rooms (including glamping facilities) we had absolutely no idea just how good the venue would be. Jonathan and Fran could not have done more to make our stay a success, including the fantastic band and Fran’s beautiful singing voice. Guests were all agreed that it would be impossible to beat this fantastic venue, which include outstanding breakfasts.
I was best man at a wedding held at the Red Pump Inn ... needless to say my best man's speech required some last minute tweaking ... Frances & Jonathan could not have been more helpful letting me borrow their PC and printer. The whole wedding stay was a huge success ... all the staff were very welcoming and friendly. We loved the beautiful Ribble valley setting and period building
Perfect stay. Jonathan and Fran were brilliant and so welcoming! We will be back to this lovely hotel xx
Everything from the people the views the comfy beds the amazing people that run that place, the food was lovely and honestly I would stay again plus their little dog
Nothing I didn’t like
A lovely little country hotel with comfortable rooms and great views. Good range on offer for breakfast.
Friendly staff, original features, great breakfast.
Lovely old pub with character, lovely surroundings. Bed was comfortable, Wet room to high standard, Breakfast was very good, self service in an unique setting!
No complaints
Loved the decor of the room and public spaces, the friendly staff and location.
Nothing. It was perfect.
Friendly staff cosy atmosphere throughout. Comfy beds and lovely selection for breakfast xxx
All good
What a little gem of a place this is. Friendly welcome from the owner before being shown to our really quite large bedroom with very comfy bed. We were attending a near-by wedding so didn’t eat here in the evening, but the breakfast the next day was possibly one of the nicest hotel breakfasts I’ve had in a long time. The public rooms have a quaint old-worldy feel to them. Thoroughly recommend this place.
Fran and johnathon were very welcoming we stayed here for a wedding, room was very clean and comfortable breakfast was amazing plenty of choice and excellent sausages 😋 thankyou both
Stay for a wedding nearby Had a fantastic evening back at The Red Pump after the Wedding. Great set of staff and customers had a great sing along. And was made welcome by all. Breakfast was plentiful good choices and hot Definitely go back
Great place in a greay area, my first time up in Clitheroe, amazing.
Fran was welcoming and accommodating and upgraded us to a bigger room free of charge. The bed was huge and had a great view from our window.
It was a little difficult to get the shower to a comfortable temp in the morning but assumed that it was just us / because others may have been showering at the same time, it was really no big deal.
Very nice comfortable accommodation hosts very nice would recommend again.
It was cute beautiful views and setting
Would of been nice for bar to be open before half 5 we were a group of family and friends 10 of us staying to go to a wedding arrived at 2.30 checked in great but then doors were locked to bars given a key to room and front door and had to go 3 miles to a shop to buy water etc as no bar open or staff around till 5.30 not great when temperatures were 27 plus and no refreshments unless you found a shop
We stayed at the inn for the night, with breakfast in the morning. This place was literally perfect, I could not fault it at all. The room was lovely, clean and had a kettle for drinks. The bathroom was also clean. The breakfast was amazing, with a selection of croissants, yoghurt, fruit, Pancakes, and full English style. Coffee was also in a cafetiere and they had decaf tea. I would 100% recommend staying here.
Cosy farmhouse stay, excellent staff who were very friendly and always on hand with advice and suggestions, highly recommend this for a base to explore the lovely surrounds.
