Clean modern and perfect location
A little noisy which we were informed about. However walls a little thin, could hear people in hallway as if they were in the room
Location ,friendly staff ,everything in one place ! Breakfast lovely, very relaxing.
Nice large room; good bathroom
no immediate parking
Location and clean. Nice quality rooms.
Minimal parking spaces and quiet expensive for an overnight stay. The location around the hotel is very busy with weddings and parties so could be very crowded and noisy in the evening.
Minor issues, the choice of breakfast items could have been better and we had problems with the service, i.e granola pot arrived after hot food. Also never been asked to pay for extra coffee when paying for bed and breakfast
Excellent spotlessly clean quiet hotel with spacious modern rooms, bathrooms, corridors and breakfast-area. Large comfy beds. Wonderful staff. Very smooth efficient check in check out. Impressive conversion of old mill buildings. Good standard well-cooked breakfasts. Overall very good value.
Just a few minor grumbles: no comfortable chairs in bedroom (plenty of room for them; but only one hard chair & small table, no proper desk); no grab rail in shower or bathroom area?(no excuse!) ; bistro was only open for breakfasts (except for weddings!); had to stand on a chair (not recommended for safety) to reach 3m high windows to open them.
Staff were very pleasant and very helpful. Everywhere is beautifully decorated including the communal areas which has a lift. The room was very clean with a comfortable bed. We ate at the café next door and the food was really good. Next to the cafe is the brewery with an amazing choice of beers/ciders/ales. We also ate an evening meal here which was good. Next door is a place for bowling which we didn’t use but we did go to the cinema next to that.
No surface to put our toiletries on except the tiniest glass shelf
The hotel and surrounding venues were excellent for our wedding stay. Lovely, classy accommodation with no complaints at all. I would happily return to stay should I ever be local again.
I didn't dislike anything. A shame we had to park off-site on a side street, but it was no issue to park, and totally acceptable given the hotel is in a converted mill with no parking.
Very well located to Bowland Hall, Brewery and Everyman. Family room had large double bed and two single beds, two TV's, coffee making facilities and a great bathroom. Lovely place
Parking is hit and miss, not part of the hotel but a small 24hr car park very close. If you get a spot you done well.
Lovely room, clean & fresh with lovely big bathroom. Would stay again.
No dedicated parking for hotel guests & entrance to hotel not obvious when coming from car park. It is attached to a pub, cinema & venue centre so lots of revellers. These are not negatives just observations.
The magnificent restoration and refurbishment of Homes Mill has made for a superb hospitality complex - bars, restaurants, cinema and an exceptionally striking landmark hotel in 1823 Spinning Block. The room was elegant, clean, and comfortable, and the simple uncluttered decor and amenities made for a restful stay. Breakfast in the superb Banquesting Hall was delicious and the staff friendly and efficient. The convenient location makes it a great starting point for a tour of the town
Loved the area & all the stuff on offer.
Loved the room and that it catered for the 5 of us to stay in the one room. They emailed to check about a crib too same day I booked, very accommodating. Was a lovely room and comfortable bed. Staff let us have some apple juice for the kiddo free of charge with our breakfasts, really accommodating staff.
The parking is a bit of a shame but we managed to park on the road so worked out in the end. Would be useful to have some disabled bays as part of the property.
Location and facilities. Bowland beer hall on site is great for food and extensive range of beers
That an old stone building has loving and gently restored to create a comfortable modern hotel
Nothing
Faboulous place to stay, everything was great.

Perfect
Lights on outside in alleyway
Location really good, the verity on sight was was excellent overall and central for the town
Nice space for overnight stay. Great shower
A bit dark
We all loved the way the mill had been changed into a hotel but kept a lot of its original features. The family room was very spacious and comfortable
Nothing
We had a beautiful room and the hotel is in a great location. Dawn on reception was wonderful. Very friendly and knowledgeable about the area.
Lovely old building with lots of character. Decor was bold but tasteful. Rooms had everything you needed.
Nothing.
Clean and tidy
Noise from the wedding
Lovely hotel and lovely area.
Staff are very friendly
Not very good for parking
The location was great. The food in the bistro was lovely.
The reception is very underwhelming.
We stayed here as we had a wedding in Clitheroe. Room was lovely and staff were very accommodating.
NA
Location,breakfast and the building
No black out curtains and only one chair in room
Hugh room, very comfortable. Good location. Good breakfast with varied choices.
Our room was.atbthe back, over the brewery quite noisy, but it was ok overnight.
Superb, if costly penthouse suite - very well equipped, very quiet and very comfortable. We have stayed here many times in a standard room, but this was on another level.
Nothing.
Every thing
Breakfast choices were many & food was very good. The staff were friendly, courteous & informative.
There was no facility in the room to hang coats & toiletry bags. Insufficient coat hangers in the wardrobe.
Breakfast average and over priced. Towel in bathroom dirty . Only 1 coat hanger in the very small wardrobe
Brilliant location
No aircon in the room
Location great. Bed comfortable. Staff helpful.
Decor in reception could do with an update.
Great mix of social bars onsite
Room was too hot. Fans were provided but they just circulated warm air. It was very very uncomfortable on the first night. Cooled down the second night.
The hotel bedroom was very nice, well decorated with a big comfortable bed. The hotel staff were excellent, friendly and polite. The breakfast was very good.
The bathroom needs a deep clean. There is a heavy build up of black mould around the shower tray and skirting and on the tile grout.
Very unique
Nothing
Good hotel. Good breakfast. Generally a fairly young staff but ALL excellent, in reception, cleaning staff, bar staff and restaurant Have stayed here many times and there is no doubt it is very good. If you happen to book last minute it is exceptional value.
If you book a room just check there isn’t an event. I.e. like a wedding with a very loud disco until midnight. I guarantee you will not sleep until events finish. Some guests were relocated to other James Places hotels. We were relocated to the top floor which was just about OK.
Beautiful spotless room. Been comfy bed. Staff lovely. Got me a fan went the extra mile
Late night noise from another room. Not the fault of staff but concerning
The position of the hotel and the general enjoyment of the facilities.
Having to pay extra for parking and the festival on Saturday which was very noisy.
Amazing building! Fascinating history and beautifully conserved areas like the engine room of the former mill in the adjoining beer hall. Great breakfast in the stylish bistro area. Lovely friendly staff. Spacious, stylish, clean and comfortable rooms. Great location in the Holmes Mill complex in the centre of Clitheroe.
Central Clitheroe..the Holmes mill complex is an excellent venue…
Holmes mill is an excellent venue in the centre of Clitheroe
Location was perfect
The room was very hot and the fan was not very effective .
excellent stay food accomodation
Very friendly staff. Good location close to a lovely brewery. very comfortable
didn’t have any breakfast but the place next door was amazing and great value for money, the location was great - lots of hikes and amazing neighbouring towns
nothing all was good !
Great room , comfortable bed and pillows
The mould on the shower silicon really needs removing urgently. It's bad.
Fantastic location. Very helpful staff. Loved the rain shower
Could do with a fridge in the room
Very friendly,great location
Room was very hot.
Great location, decor, facilities
Lovely room and bathroom great location
Nothing
Hotel still pleasant to be in. Rooms spacious and nicely decorated. Staff friendly. Housekeeping service excellent. Food Hall next door excellent. Photos are of the Food Hall.
Breakfast disappointing so only went once in five nights stay. Just dull and coffee weak. Room a little tired compared to two earlier visits. Would appreciate a small fridge in the room, especially in hot weather to keep water cold in.
We loved our stay here, the hotel is close to the town and Bowland brewery next door! The room has everything you need for your stay. The staff were friendly and welcoming, we will definitely stay again.
Great location, great breakfast, spotlessly clean and next door to a brewery. Perfect!
We attended for a wedding and everything was acceptable, the room was nice, breakfast was good. Parking was a bit busy, but we managed to get a space after waiting a short while. It looks a nice area to visit and I would certainly stay again.
Everything was fine
Paid Parking nearby, breakfast was exceptional and the room's nicely decorated. Fantastic central location.
2 grade listed building it was a beautiful place Ideally located
None
Great location, good staff and clean and airy room.
Nothing
Staff - all lovely, friendly, helpful and professional. Beer Festival - well organised, enjoyed the range and variety of beers available. Eating - we ate in the onsite Bar one evening and the the Emporium on another evening. Good food and service in both. Room - bed was comfortable, plenty of space in the room and the ensuite.
In the room - I would have liked (1) a more comfortable chair and (2) for oldies like me a shower mat or grab rail in the shower would have been safer as the floor did get slippy.
The hotel is next to the wonderful bar, cinema and various other facilities. The staff are always friendly and we have stayed here 3 times now. If there is a wedding taking place, room 37 is not disturbed by the celebrations below.
Nothing
Excellent location and the breakfast was top notch.
Could have done with a second chair in the room or a small sofa
Staff were very friendly and helpful, room was nice and clean
Great location with excellent eating & drinking options
No air con
Everything is on site. Bars and food etc.
Nothing.
Clean comfortable room great shower. Very pleasant staff Great central location
Really needs air Con in summer. And duvets heavy for summer. Lighter duvet wirh maybe a light throw more Comfortable
Nothing
Great location, beautifully furnished rooms. Friendly, welcoming staff. Would look forward to staying again.
Nothing
Fabulous as usual
The facilities are very clean and well kept. The food is excellent and the service at the adjoining restaurant/brewery is top notch. This place takes all the details into account. The cups and cutlery are nice, the service is great.
Great location, lovely hotel, close to many leisure facilities, terrific breakfast. Will definitely be back
Near everything
That breakfast was satisfactory
Unfortunately I thought it was a little over price.
Came for a wedding, the staff couldn't do more for us they were so friendly and helpful. Lovely clean room.
A lovely welcoming place to stay in the heart of Clitheroe.
Nothing
Lovely comfy bed
Central location, close to many facilities
Awesome as always.
The noise from the wedding. We were informed ahead of our stay that there would be noise and we were offered to change dates. The music was much louder than expected.
Loved the breakfast area very quirky,
Whilst no one can control the heat we’ve had, no a/c and the “grab a fan from the corridor if there is one” wasn’t ideal especially as we had an elderly couple with us. Had to climb on a chair then the windowsill to reach the windows so we could open them. No phone in the room so if we had an issue we had to trail back down 2 floors. Stains on the carpet in the room which was very basic. The service at breakfast was slow, no decaf coffee the first morning and the second seemed chaotic but the service staff were lovely and apologetic
Clean and very spacious
Needs aircon
Great location, good breakfast
Noisy when events are on downstairs
Lovely, friendly & incredibly helpful staff. Great location with a very good vibe about the whole Holmes Mill complex. Rooms were comfortable & clean.
As the weather was very hot when we stayed the rooms were uncomfortably warm, with not enough fans for one for every room. Might want to think about investing in some more powerful fans please. But this in no way detracted from a lovely stay & we would definitely come back.
Where it was
No free car park and no lounge are the only place to sit at the hotel was in your room
Only an 8-minute walk from the station Large room and bathroom Great staff and a fantastic breakfast
Management inflexible and no empathy
parking was a bit difficult but we managed it.
Breakfast was great. Decor was super. Room was lovely and light
Not having a fridge in the room during the heatwave
We were on a walk so did not use the car park, but there was one at the Spinning Block. The room was clean and well equipped and comfortable, with a large bed. Portion sizes for breakfast were quite large! Seeing the Victorian staircase to the rooms, machinery etc is very interesting and makes for a hotel with a difference.
There was only a choice of orange juice or water at breakfast, so another juice would be nice.
The staff went above and beyond to be helpful. The hotel is situated in a perfect spot close to restaurants and cinema. I will definitely be back and would recommend to couples, singles and families alike. The breakfast was amazing also.
Nothing
Great location for the town center with lively bars and restaurants right next door, as well as a cinema. Handy paid parking close by. Friendly and helpful staff on check-in and out - quick and efficient. Everything works and a lovely spacious room with a large comfortable bed. Nice big bathroom with a large walk-in shower - very powerful. Impressive place all round.
Fab position, have stayed previously but it lost a few stars on this stay
Could have been cleaner, breakfast not the best (was previously exceptional)
Clean very well presented room comfortable bed and good show
Tricky to find parking problematic Breakfast was mediocre and the quality of food poor
Lively atmosphere, comfy room , good breakfast and friendly staff
Parking was a bit difficult but eventually got a spot
Clean and comfortable
I had a very enjoyable time there and there was nothing i didn’t like …..the food and the beer were excellent.I would definitely stay there again. The staff were very friendly and i was sad to leave.
The weather but i guess that’s outwith your control.ì
Very comfortable bed and spacious room. Good location and friendly staff.
Room was a little warm, but fans were available for our use. Just as a suggestion, would be nice to have a mini fridge in the room.
Great breakfast , helpful staff , lovely spacious room and large shower . Very clean . Gorgeous dining room and loved the outside eating / drinks area .
Pillows too soft for me but its a personal choice and not a negative. Still a 10/10 stay . Parking is £10 per night which could get pricey for longer stays .
I stayed for one night and really appreciated how friendly and informative the reception staff were. They made the check-in process simple and efficient, which was a great start to the stay.
The only downside was the lack of on-site parking, which was a little frustrating. While this isn’t entirely the location’s fault as it services other facilities, both remote car parks were full on a busy Saturday, meaning we had to drive around waiting for a space
