Appreciated the access to the kitchen 24/7. Breakfast was hot and fruit was fresh. Lots of drink options

Everything was wonderful at the Sonata Inn! We much enjoyed the character of this lovely Inn. The breakfasts and service was exceptional and the location was fantastic, walkable to restaurants and amenities.

The location was excellent. We walked to the downtown area and the water front. The staff that greeted us were very welcoming and kind. He gave us lots of tips for places to eat. He carried our suitcases upstairs and made sure that we were comfortable and were aware of all the amenities at the Inn. Our breakfast was excellent. We were expecting a continental breakfast but were served a hot breakfast that was excellent. The Inn is beautifully restored.

Nothing but good things to say! Wonderful and welcoming owner who insisted on carrying our luggage up to our room and made sure we had everything we needed. Beautiful comfortable and clean room, delicious breakfast, laundry facilities for guests, easy walking distance to restaurants, shops and boardwalk. Parking on site. It was a wonderful stay!

The room was very large. The breakfast was good and there were lots of options. The staff was very kind. It was nice to stay in an old house in Charlottetown and it was good value.

The bathroom could use a bit of an update.

Beautiful inside and out. Chris was lovely to deal with and showed so much care and kindness ensuring our stay was perfect! The location is in walking distance to the downtown core and we felt very safe even at night. Breakfast was excellent and different both days we stayed there. Highly recommend!! Thank you Chris for helping make our visit a 10/10!!

The property is great! The location is amazing! The staff is phenomenal! It is our second time staying there for about a week and obviously if it wasn’t great, we wouldn’t go back!

I find that it kind of needs some upgrading! The room smelled, a little old/mouldy, the carpets need some cleaning, and a good painting will go a long way! Breakfast was good but a lot better when we previously there!

The beds were comfortable and location good. Staff were helpful in providing food when we needed to check out before their regular breakfast time

At check in I advised we could not stay for the 2nd night due to need to travel home sooner. They said would reimburse 2nd night if able to fill with someone else but I was advised today that this had not been possible. I guess I am just noting as advice to others to look at cancellation policies carefully.

This was a beautiful and comfortable inn. The room was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and offered little extras like all day tea and coffee, beach towels and umbrellas for rain.

Location is wonderful. Access to coffee and tea and snacks is lovely. Room was clean, but a little outdated.

We were told to press buzzer for assistance and someone would come when necessary....after about 45 minutes of various button pushing, a note left on front counter, I finally was able to snag a person in the hallway to help. Our TV wasn't set up in such a way to view, and for $300 if we want to watch TV then we should be able to. But the lack of assistance was the real issue. The rooms are not very soundproof...as in an old building sort of way. And the pillows are like little flat pieces of stiff foam...very strange.

The location was awesome and the extras were pretty amazing. Laundry (free wash with laundry soap and only $1 for the dryer) All day snacks available, $1 for ice cold water, pops, etc. Hot breakfast which was included was very good. Clean and well maintained.

The family who owns the BnB were lovely. They were helpful, professional, and cared about maintaining their property and caring for their guests. They cooked different breakfast specials each morning, as well as providing continental breakfast options. They had onsite laundry you could use, and the rooms were clean and had everything you would need (TV, fridge, full bathroom). Location is very walkable to downtown Charlottetown. The building is old but has been maintained.

Staff members were outstanding in their professionalism, hospitality and customer service!! The cleanliness was 10/10 and so was the location. The breakfast was amazing (they even have a separate toaster to safely accommodate Celiac) and the bed was super comfortable. What more can be said?!! I highly recommend this property.

A lovely Inn in a quiet location with a nice, spacious room, a good breakfast and friendly staff. A lovely reading room with lots of plants in this Inn as well. We also liked the set up regarding food availibilty during off hours. Would stay here again!

This is a very nicely presented, clean and comfortable property in a central location. The kitchenettes with drinks for purchase and small fridges in the room add to its convenience.

Even though we ended up coming in really late, the staff was fantastic. Welcomed us, checked us in and helped take our luggage to our room. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was amazing , all the staff were friendly and helpful.

The house/inn had seen its better days and seemed a little run down. Our room was in a B&B but looked like any old hotel room, nothing special about it.

My family and I can’t say enough good things about this quiet, cozy, and exceptionally clean bed and breakfast. The location was perfect, and the recommendations from our amazing host, Chris, helped make our holiday truly unforgettable. Breakfast, made fresh to order each morning (selected upon arrival), was the perfect way to start each day. Our room was cleaned daily and always fully stocked with fresh towels and everything we needed. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful. We always felt comfortable asking questions or requesting anything extra, such as soap or towels, and they were happy to help. If you’re looking for a wonderful place to stay in Charlottetown, PEI—whether you’re traveling as a couple or with your family—this is the place. We would absolutely stay here again!

Exceptionally professional staff at every level. This is not a new property but it is well-maintained. The breakfast area is lovely and the breakfast offerings were varied. The hot breakfast offering each day was a nice surprise. The Inn is an easy walk to shops, pubs and restaurants, and a short drive to access the Confederation Trail if you want to hike or cycle. Despite being fully booked, it felt very private and quiet. We were able to do a load of laundry - also a nice surprise.

The location was excellent! We arrived early in Charlottetown so did a walking tour around town to fill our time, when we located the Inn we realized we had walked past it. It's a beautiful building with lots of character. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was excellent, not only a continental selection, they served a lovely quiche as well. Would not hesitate staying again, but for longer next time.

The door was very hard to open and close although they were waiting for it to be maintained, it was difficult while we were there.

Location was the only plus I will give for this property!

We were very disappointed with the condition of this house, the insulting choice of breakfast served - untoasted English muffin with American cheese slice and overly poached egg that was microwaved to serve with a small dish of cold, wilted French fries?!! Insulting is the fact that one of their past guests who stayed less than a year ago complained of the same poor conditions and attached photos that matched all that we saw and experienced! Worn entry with paint and wood chips, bathroom faucet loose without a sink stopper, poor quality towels with a laundry basket in place to fill for dirty towels, poor quality decor needing updating (Christmas bows on the woodwork?!) Poor placement and quality of loud air conditioning units aimed at the head of our bed. They made no effort to improve or even repair these things that were clearly brought to their attention.

The listing for this Inn said it was a hotel, but in fact, it is a B&B. The hosts were very nice, concerned for their guests comfort, and were prompt in responding to any inquiries. The location was in a neighborhood of Victorian homes (many also operating as B&Bs). It has it's own parking lot, unlike many which required you to park on the street. Breakfast was plentiful with accommodations for dietary concerns. I would highly recommend.

Walls were a little thin so any loud guests could be heard. Not sure if owners live on the property and could have addressed the noise.

We stayed here for three nights, and every morning we were served a different homemade breakfast. The food was excellent, and we enjoyed it much more than the typical hotel breakfast where the same dishes are served every day. The 24-hour snack bar was another great feature that we really appreciated. Beach towels were also provided, so we didn't have to pack our own. The location was perfect. Everything in town was within walking distance, making it very convenient. The area was quiet and felt safe, so we were comfortable walking around even at night. The staff were warm and welcoming, always greeting us with a smile each day. We had a wonderful stay and would happily recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

The property was clean and well maintained, but it is an older house that has been converted into a guesthouse. The floors were carpeted, and the carpet had the typical musty smell often found in older homes. One small concern was the bathroom window. Since the property is located in a residential neighborhood, there is another house nearby. The bathroom window had only a partial curtain instead of a full one, leaving a small gap at the top. Although it wasn't directly facing the neighboring house, it still felt a little uncomfortable from a privacy standpoint.

The facility is a little in need of updating but it is fabulous nonetheless. Our room was great, the bed very comfortable and breakfast was excellent.

The faucet in our bathroom was loose. Meant to mention it to the staff.

My room was on second floor which is great but requested a quiet room and was above the front door below which other guests seem to bang it closed frequently (door needs fixing). Also, I think some upgrades could be made within the rooms & building itself (ie remove carpet from rooms, fix cracks in walls, newer shower in general).

Awesome hospitality and they always keep food on their dining

The Sonata Inn is in a perfect location to explore the harborfront and downtown Charlottetown. We were able to go everywhere on foot. There was enough free parking that we always had a spot, and we enjoyed taking day trips out of Charlottetown. Chris and his staff are welcoming and accommodating. The laundry is coin operated but the detergent is free and the machines were effective and handy to use during our stay. The food was fresh with good variety. Our family enjoyed the juices, teas, water and coffee which are available throughout the day. We also enjoyed the first floor kitchenetter which is much more convenient than walking upstairs.

The Inn is old and while the common areas are quite charming, many of the room furnishings are dated (and not in a quaint way). Chris is a newer owner of the Inn and has mentioned maintaining an updating features such as carpeting and heating. My personal opinion is that some updates to the rooms would add significantly to the vibe of what is already a cute bed and breakfast.

It would be great to have coffee available 24/7 using sachets perhaps just like the tea.

Beautiful heritage house really close to downtown and the waterfront park. Lovely well equipped room. Staff attentive and very helpful. Excellent breakfast with fruit, pastries, and hot food.

A kettle in the room would be useful

The staff anticipated every possible need, making helpful suggestions and providing umbrellas and beach towels. The room was pleasant and the location was excellent. The 24-hour fruit and beverages and the superior breakfast were a treat!

The room was clean and confortable, with functionning AC and was able to open the window, which was nice.

The whole point of staying in an independant inn/B&B is for a HOME MADE breakfast, which was far from true here; frozen grocery store quiches (which they make you pick the night before!!?), muffins and apple turnovers from Costco. They could not even get the coffee right! This is plain insulting because that is more than 50% of the reason for a B&B. They did have a good selection of regular and nut milks with yogurts and juices, store bought but of good quality there but overall very disappointed on the "breakfast" front.

We had everything at our disposal. i.e. kettle, kitchen washer and dryer for $1 and they supplied the soap. Breakfast was superb.

parking was a bit tight…we had to park on the grass as it was a full house.

Isolation phonique entre chambre du rez de chaussée et celle au-dessus, situées à l'arrière.

Ça ne valait pas le prix exorbitant que j'ai payé pour une nuit (281$). D'autant plus que la chambre n'était pas chauffée adéquatement. Le système de chauffage (radiateurs muraux) ne fonctionnait pas. On m'a fourni un petit radiateur électrique d'appoint pour réchauffer la chambre et la salle de bain.

The bed was very comfortable. The location is SUPERB. The staff were extremely helpful. Breakfast was delicious. and the entire experience was an 11 out of 10. Way above 5 star! We couldn't have been more pleased and will absolutely choose the Sonata Inn as our first choice when we come back to Charlottetown. The Inn is exquisitely beautiful and captures the elegance and sophistication of the original home, but without feeling old or dated. It is obvious that the owners have put a lot of care and attention into making certain the "Old World" flavour remains, while also upgrading to be modern and sophisticated. I felt like I stepped back in time, but without having to give up any of my modern conveniences. And the quiet reading room with a comfortable swing chair and all the lovely plants was an absolute oasis. I also appreciated having 24/7 access to tea and juice and apples & bananas and the like. I especially loved that the very first thing Chris told us was where and how to see the evening sunset. (super close to the Inn and not to be missed!. The Inn is in a spectacular location). We followed his advice and saw the sun setting behind a lighthouse, and captured a moment that rivalled any picture postcard I've ever seen. (We also appreciated how responsive Chris was for communication. He answered all our queries very quickly) The Inn is an easy 5 minute walk to downtown Charlottetown so we could walk right to Victoria Row; The Confederation Centre (to see Anne of Green Gables or Come From Away); St Dunstan's Cathedral; ALL the best restaurants!! It was so lovely to have our hot breakfast cooked fresh and delivered to us at our table (this is NOT a place that cooks in bulk and leaves sausage and eggs sitting in a steel warmer for hours...). The presentation on the plate was beautiful. And the selection of pastries was also a nice treat.

The only thing that could have been better was our timing. We were very sad to have to leave the Sonata Inn after a single evening and wish we had been able to stay at least a few more nights!

The location is fantastic! It’s very walkable distance to the harbour, restaurants & shopping. The room was spacious with large windows that opened.

It wasn’t the coziest stay. The bed was awful—it was super soft, squeaky & dipped in the middle. The bedding was not 100% cotton & it needed to be. The quilt was too heavy & warm. The breakfast served was rarely hot. The coffee was not good. The building noise was loud & constant with lots of squeaky doors. The staff argued in the parking lot below the windows.

Welcoming host; close walk to waterside boardwalk and to downtown. Most comfortable mattress and pillow ever. Despite good effort for presentation site needs work : towel rack fell apart with slightest bump; toilet very low (too low for seniors); bathroom too cramped - always bumping into something. Room for stay was large, but generally needed a little re-energizing.

Location is perfect - close to all attractions of the city, host is very kind and helpful. All facilities available. Good, fresh and healthy breakfast. Cereal, tea, coffee, juices, fruits and yogurts all day available for refreshments.
