The location. Staff was nice. Hemingway restaurant really good.Pool was huge. Nice indoor pool. Chairs on the beach.

Bathroom needs to be updated. No fans . Shower curtains cheap. Old hair dryers. .Very old air conditioning system in the room.

I like that the facility was very new and modern. The room was exceptionally clean. It was spacious. It had a fridge. It was very nice and kept clean.

I did not like the lady at the front desk who greeted me when I checked in. I also went back there to speak to someone about getting a leader checkout and she came out and like started being nasty again she’s very rude and she’s not a nice person so if you don’t have to deal with her then it’s fine but she is definitely a bitch.

The room we received paled in comparison to the one we booked on booking.com. Cramped with uncomfortable beds and only one sofa. The listing had 2 sofas and bubble lens images depicted a room that was listed to sleep 6. That would have been impossible. Our listing showed a King Henry room and we did not receive that.

Everything was great. The staff, the room, the pool, the restaurant. My wife and I stay here for 2 nights every summer. We love the location too.

The rooms were outdated and beds were awful uncomfortable. I paid for a suite too and I was disappointed. Hated that the outdoor pool was smack in the middle of their parking lot.

Beautiful hotel, great service, rooms were big with comfortable beds. Glad they had indoor and outdoor pool, especially on cloudy days. Right outside is the beginning of the promenade to have a romantic stroll. Harry's is a short walk to hear live music and great drinks after 930pm. The porch area in front of the room is adorable. I was very pleased with the decor, amenities and service. Definitely search for restaurants nearby and book reservations in advance. The "Mall" was a short 15 min walk but worth exploring and viewing the Congress Hall. The Brown Room and outside area was scenic, drinks were amazing, friendly people and wonderful way to spend an afternoon. Will return & recommend.

The floors of the room should be swepted and mopped per stay. After getting out the shower, definitely cannot walk bare footed in the room. They need more then 2 hangers per double bed rooms for 4 people. Also need to provide 4 pillows on each bed not just 2.

Having the outdoor pool and ability to walk straight across to the beach with chairs and umbrella provided was wonderful. The room was roomy and nice and beds were very comfortable. It’s also nice that there is a restaurant on premises.

The only downside that I did not like was that there is no hot water and coffee provided in the morning. There is a keurig in the room,but as a tea drinker, the taste of water out of a keurig that has had lots of coffee run through it, is not a great option. There are places around, but I am up so early that they were not open yet.

upon check in the floor in our room with sandy and remained that way through the entire stay. I’ve stayed there multiple times over the last several years. This is the first time that I’ve been given a room that I probably should’ve requested a change, but I knew the hotel was booked. Above our room was an open area on the third floor with an elevator, ice machine, soda machine machines where people would enter to and from the hotel. From 5 AM throughout the entire morning all you would hear with people, thumping and running and moving throughout the entirety of the area above our room. Had to put on white noise to drown it out at some points.

Amenities and proximity to beach/Washington Street

Beach towels provided were thin with holes in them. They use better rags at car washes. The room was in a dire need of updating. The shower head was hanging out of the wall. There were no plugs to charge a phone on one side of the bed. The floor in the room look filthy. I wore my shoes the whole time in the room. Corner in the bathroom showed signs of mold.

The property needs a major renovation. The outdoor pool is very big. The location is perfect. Close to the beach and easy access to both outdoor and indoor pools.

Needs upgrade, it’s an old motel. After three times I asked for a phone in the room I was told the line didn’t work in that specific room. One afternoon there were no towels available at the pool. The shower head in the bathroom had mold.

Air conditioning is loud and bathroom toilets are very low. Look to be child size.

The decor was nice.

Air condition was too loud. A fan near the bed would hve helped with the AC, which was in a separate room. The reading lights near bed did not work. Vending machine did not work. The check in process was inefficient, especially with regard to parking and beach tags. I suggest you collect parking info in advance rather than writing it up each time and don't make the Associate go in back to get beach tags every time. Parking could be better organized and specified in advance.

Location was great, It didn't seem like the staff was ready to seat at 10:50AM, as with my Birthday Dinner Saturday night at Hemmingway's with my family, I received the wrong meal , my brother-in-law's chef Nicholas's homemade lasagna was still frozen in the middle not to mention 2 cups of coffee with coffee grinds in them and me waiting for my dinner. The ribeye that was overcooked for another 25 minutes. Needless to say I won't be dining there anymore and will not give any positive recommendations. It seemed like our server really didn't know what she was supposed to be doing as a server, but she's got a great tan.

Everything did not see a senior manager while I was there for two hours, not to mention the waitress was very unattended.

The bathroom in our room was extremely small and inconvenient. One small shelf was above the toilet but it was slanted so you couldn't put any toiletries on it as they might fall into the toilet! No space on sink vanity either. For a very small investment, they could add some nice shelving and hooks. For the high price and resort fees, I would have expected much better! The restaurant there was nice though. Also, the two table chairs provided were very uncomfortable and very heavy to move. We are senior citizens so not as strong and mobile perhaps as younger people.

Always a fantastic hotel to stay at in Cape May. It’s clean, on the beach, great pools and Hemingways is a great place for dinner. Look forward to staying again next summer.

The description of the room online didn’t match exactly to the room we booked so we were a little disappointed to find one less bed than what we thought we booked. The hotel staff was great and rectified the situation by giving us a cot at no charge.

I recently stayed at the Grand Hotel from July 15–19, and I have to say I was very disappointed with my room this year. When I first entered the room, the temperature was 78 degrees. I was also disappointed to find that the air conditioning appears to be controlled by an occupancy sensor that turns the AC off when the room is unoccupied. As a result, every time we returned from being out, the room was hot and humid. I understand the desire to conserve energy, but this significantly affected our comfort throughout the stay. The second issue was that the mini refrigerator was not operating when we arrived. After troubleshooting, I moved the plug to a different outlet, and the refrigerator immediately turned on. Unfortunately, this meant that the items I needed to keep cold had already been placed in a warm refrigerator. I have stayed at the Grand Hotel in the past and have always had positive experiences, which is why these issues were especially disappointing. In addition, I would encourage someone to stand in the shower with the curtain closed to experience how inadequate the lighting is. The overall workmanship in the bathroom also fell below the standard I have come to expect from your property. I understand that operating costs continue to rise, and I recognize that adjustments are necessary. That said, I want to commend Hemingway's, which once again provided exceptional service and value. The staff at the pool bar were also outstanding and were a highlight of our stay. Unfortunately, I was disappointed by the condition of the room and the apparent lack of attention to detail in its preparation and maintenance. Given the quality I have experienced during previous visits, I expected much better. Thank you for taking the time to review my feedback. The hotel where we stayed for two nights was in a great location. The rooms were spotless and well-equipped. The staff were friendly and welcoming. It was raining when we visited, so we made use of the indoor pool for free; we were very pleased with the experience, and the price was excellent. I would definitely like to go back.

We booked through booking .com..it was are first mistake. We asked for two queen beds in each room with a balcony. We got to hotels it was on the first floor with full size beds no balcony. Try to reach booking. Com..Couldn't...went to front desk no help but they said i payed for that rm. The rm we were in needed a up grade on the bath rm . The hotel differently isn't a 4 star.

Inconsistent times for the cleaning staff to clean your room. The bed in the king room is way too close to the wall! The main entrance to the hotel was not handicap/wheelchair friendly.

Great experience! Very clean rooms and recently updated. Good services on site including bar and restaurant. Easy access to the beach and great beach services. We brough chair, umbrella and beach towels. We left them in the car and did not need them. Short walk to the downtown area. Will consider the Grand Hotel or Cape May for our next trip to Cape May.

The room was not up to par. Mold under the air conditioning unit. The toilet seat kept coming loose and pinching my skin. I tried tightening it several times but it wouldn’t tighten enough due to the nut having an extended piece hitting the toilet and keeping it from tightening all the way

We were on the second floor and townhouses were above us and the people had children that ran around from 8 in the morning til 1:00 am. I reported it to the front desk but it still continued.

We had an absolutely incredible experience at The Grand Hotel and truly cannot say enough good things about it. From start to finish, the wedding coordinator and her assistants went above and beyond to ensure every detail of our day was perfect. Katlyn was especially outstanding. She was extremely responsive (often replying within the hour), very knowledgeable, and always one step ahead in helping us navigate planning decisions. The entire staff was fantastic. They were consistently accommodating, no matter how small the request, and made it easy for us to customize details and last-minute changes without stress. The food and drinks were phenomenal as well, and we are still receiving compliments from our guests about how much they enjoyed everything. We had our ceremony on the sundeck and our reception in the newly renovated penthouse ballroom, and both spaces were breathtaking. The views and sunset created an unforgettable backdrop that made the entire day feel magical. We would absolutely recommend this venue to anyone considering it. We also highly recommend attending the tasting and planning meeting about six months prior. It was incredibly helpful, gave us a chance to try nearly everything on the menu, and answered all of our questions in advance. Overall, this was truly a 12/10 experience. We honestly wish we could give more than five stars.

This was a great weekend away. The amenities were spot on. Beautiful indoor outdoor pools and a walk away from everything. The room was ok, beautiful view, but water stains on ceiling tiles and broken curtains. Otherwise the room was good.

Everything was seamless and amazing related to our wedding planning and the wedding itself, all the way from setting up the first tour of the venue to every single detail on the day of. I was not stressed at all because I knew anything I hadn't thought of, Katlyn would. We had no complaints from our guests and multiple people told us it was the best wedding they had ever been to. Thank you so much to Katlyn and the Grand Hotel for helping us have such a stunning wedding experience.

The parking situation. Not sure if there was a spot for every room. We found the last spot in garage and it was extremely tight. We were afraid to move the car during our stay as we would lose our spot. We watched other guests circle the parking lot at night looking for a space. Also the smell of marijuana in the hallways was unpleasant.

My teen daughter was in our party. I entered her age as over 12 with the booking but when we arrived the hotel staff person gave us a child’s under-12 beach tag & staff gave me a bit of grief about children over 12 needing an « adult «  beach tag. There’s a disconnect between the age I entered with the third-party booking and the info the hotel received about the age of children that should be resolved. I did not indicate my child was under 12.; I entered 17. We had breakfast at the hotel all but the last day of our stay. The servers were good and attentive except the one we had on Saturday morning. She was terrible. I mentioned this lackadaisical « service » to the man at the restaurant reception desk on Sunday morning & told him how dissatisfied I was and that we were eating somewhere else that morning. While the man acknowledged that there had been other complaints about this particular server and she had been talked to, he should have started with an apology for our experience. He never did apologize & kind of cut me off as I was expressing my displeasure.

My daughter and I came from Rochester, New York, for a mom-daughter get away. The hotel was really nice, perfect and comfortable. The staff couldn't have been nicer, and they have everything you need. Cape May is beautiful. Unfortunately, the weather was uncooperative, but we made the most of it and took a trolly tour and shopped. We had a nice dinner in the hotel restaurant too. We want to come back next year if the weather forecast looks good. Ciao.

My husband and I had a nice experience staying at the Grand Hotel of Cape May. It was our first time ever in Cape May - and this hotel had great reviews, so we chose this one. Great price for right after Memorial Day. The hotel itself on the outside and inside is beautiful. I will say, their outdoor sign could be updated or painted - was hard to see when we arrived at night. ROOM: Clean, updated, spacious. Perfect for two people. We booked the king, partial ocean view and were on the 3rd floor. The balcony is nice with rocking chairs. We did have an issue with our room (AC did not work - stuck at 73) but it was fixed that same day. STAFF: Friendly and helpful. We had many questions when we first got there, and arrived at night, quite hungry. Jessica at the front recommended Blue Moon Pizza - which did not disappoint as the perfect late night snack delivered right to our room. PARKING: Parking is limited - but we honestly did not drive around much, we walked everywhere. Only moved our car a few times, and always found some type of spot close-enough to get to our room. I am sure that gets busier closer to the peak summer season. POOL/BEACH: We went to the pool briefly - its nice. They have a pool bar. Drinks were strong. Don't forget your towel cards! The beach is beautiful and its really nice they offer the chairs and umbrella service. That was great - the beach felt private and quiet. I ordered food as well - had a nice, giant shrimp quesadilla and a chicken wrap. Both were delicious. Also, its dry beach - no alcohol on the beach sadly. DISTANCE TO DOWNTOWN: Proximity-wise to Washington Street - it is a bit far. My husband and I do not mind walking, and the promenade starts almost right across the street from the hotel. To get into the main downtown Washington Street area, its a good 20-30 minute walk, depending on where you want to go. Bring your sneakers! FINAL FEEDBACK: My one piece of feedback that I truly should have let the desk know, but we were rushing to leave - the slamming room doors. That is the only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5. We are not complainers, but it was definitely not pleasant. I'm not sure if it was where our room was, but there is no hydraulic stopper on the doors to let them close nicely without slamming. They slam so hard that if you wanted to sleep in, it would certainly be a challenge if your neighbors are in and out or housekeeping. Pro-tip, use an app on your phone that gives you white noise, like beach or nature sounds to help mute the sounds outside your room - you'll sleep like a baby. If they can work on fixing the doors, it would be a perfect hotel!

I stayed in the King-size efficiency during the mid-week special. This was my second visit during this special. It is a great value to book during the specials. The hotel is clean, has a low noise level, and has great staff. I like that it is a convenient walk to the beach with the shower and bathroom house, and the beach chairs and umbrellas. My favorite is the indoor heated pool and hot tub.

Pictures are taken from the beach and not from the rooms. The rooms are basically facing the parking lot and the beach is further away than the pics. To rent a gazebo was $80 a day regardless of the room you rented. That should be indicated clearly. The umbrellas and chairs are only available until 5:00 pm.

Convenient and beach passes, bike rentals and an indoor pool were available. We were only there two nights, but the whole staff was so nice. We are looking forward to coming again

Pegamos um final de semana chuvoso, o que não ajudou a aproveitar tudo o que o local oferecia, mas a localização é excelente; pudemos deixar o carro estacionado o tempo todo. A piscina coberta foi uma boa alternativa, e o bar do hotel foi muito bom.

O banheiro poderia ser melhor, assim como uma pequena manutenção no quarto, com ajustes nas luzes e em outros pequenos detalhes. Achamos o restaurante um pouco limitado e o atendimento nem sempre tão cortês.

Easy access to the beach- just across the street. The staff is friendly. The rooms are clean & beach tags are now included with the room. The indoor and outside pools are very nice.

The beds are very uncomfortable, we woke up achy every day. There was construction work going on all day, which made relaxing by the pool difficult, with grinding noises from 9am to 7pm! The manager never called to talk about our concerns, even though we spoke with the front desk twice and was assured someone would call us.

Unfortunately, that wasn’t true for the time we had booked and was misleadingHad we known, we would have brought our own chairs. The bedroom was a little bit tight. It was somehow difficult to get off the bed and walk through the sides of the bed. The Size of the king bed was somehow shorter than it should be. My husband has long legs and part of them were off the bed.
