Very dated, awful breakfast.
Lovely breakfast Ideally situated very close to bus stops
Double bed was uncomfortable
Location
The property was dated, mattress desperately needed replacing and breakfast was the grimmest I have ever seen. The breakfast waiter was wearing a puffa jacket, he looked like he had just walked off the street and was not replenishing stock ie basics like butter.
Good locstion close to Sefton park
Was slighlty cold in thr room in thr nighy
Great location with free parking, value for money, friendly staff, lift and spacious rooms.
Needs some updating.
Location - great. Very clean. On street parking was available.
Tired decor. Covid stickers on the floor. Cuts too many corners at breakfast... view of the many tins of fruit salad in 'kitchen' was not encouraging. Coffee quality - sad. Only offered early slot at 7 am for breakfast...expected a busy room.. sat alone for 10 mins with no staff about. State of seals on shower door... telling!
Friendly staff, good location. Car parking limited, bed tolerable, bathroom clean, modern, but no shelves. Hotel clean, room decor tired.
No shelves in bathroom, uncertainty about carparking, and tired room decor.
La posizione e la pulizia. Staff cordiale e disponibile, soprattutto Virginia.
Staff friendly and helpful
The room i was in was dated and cold. Had to ask for heater to warm the room
Nice room, good car parking, good location.
Nothing significant.
It was very clean
The breakfast not very good . I was dismayed to receive a message after I had booked and paid to find out that they only served a continental breakfast as I was looking forward to a full English.
The property was proximal to Sefton Park which was the reason for the visit
The property was an older establishment. Outdated decor and obvious signs of wear I.e. ceilings were “tea stained” showing signs of water ingress from the roof. There were no more than two members of staff operating at any one time, meaning that lengthy waits for rooms and bar service were unavoidable. Free parking is very limited and we had to park on the main road instead
Our room was comfortable, clean and quiet. The en-suite shower room was huge and modern. The staff were very helpful especially the Portuguese girl - I think her name was Virginia. The buffet continental breakfast had more variety than expected and they were helpful about gluten free guests. There was always enough space in the car park for us. We enjoyed the lounge facilities.
Buena conexion con autobuses
En el desayuno Podria haber más variedad
Beautiful looking building. Staff were very pleasant.
The breakfast was possibly the worst I have experienced, with on offer. The bed was damp, probably because it is an older building.
The size of the room and large bathroom.
The features were beautiful
Lovely space for a family get together
The staffing was too small, bar service was very slow and check in prices inefficient
Great location - clean, very good value for money
The ambience and decoration it was like stepping back to 1900s but with modern facilities the decoration was superb and the staff were very friendly and helpful
Nothing it was very comfortable and very easy to get into the town with a Bus stop right outside of the Hotel to save you from using your car
Reception girl and breakfast gentleman lovely, others rude
Mattress so uncomfortable, breakfast was plastic and stale, not palatable
Happy with the breakfast. Would’ve liked a bread roll with the continental breakfast.
The evening staff member was a bit unpleasant and charged extra £15 because arrived 1.5 hours later than expected. The bed was too soft for my liking.
Clean and no stairs to room
Excellent hotel and staff
Very clean the beds were very comfortable loved great location easy to get to the city centre & great value for money
Very clean & accessible
Decor furniture & the whole package excellent
Location - close to Lark Lane.
Bed uncomfortable with no support, middle of the bed caved in. Decor old and grubby
Comfortable beds - very reasonably priced and free parking
Good value for money & in a good location for town
Breakfast is the main thing that lets this hotel down. Just loads of things that could improve even if sticking to continental.
Great hotel, friendly staff, lovely rooms, and very quiet.
the size of the room was great and it was quiet though the placement of the furniture could be looked at and re-arranged to give a better use of the space. Some pieces of furniture were not necessary in a hotel room and so would have created a better layout if they were removed. The staff were pleasant and friendly.
While the bed linen and towels were clean, the furniture and wallpaper in the room was tired and the sofa in need of a good clean or replacement. The shower curtain and the grouting needed some mould attention. The bed was on castors on a wooden floor which made sitting up in bed impossible as it slid away from the wall.
Nothing
It’s very run down shower was dirty had to ask for it to be cleaned We both sank into the middle of the mattress So old breakfast was very poor quality and limited .
Easy to get to, (10-15 mins in a taxi from Liverpool Lime Street), comfortable for the price and John working at the reception was really lovely / chatty and helpful!
The room was pretty clean minus a stray hair in the shower, but I have to flag one of the most horrible looking remote controls I’ve ever seen in a hotel room. It was absolutely caked in grime and dirt, with weirdly sticky buttons and it looked like it’s never been wiped down since the tv was added to the room. I washed my hands after touching it, I was so grossed out. I also wasn’t pleased that there isn’t an option to pay for a room without getting breakfast. I’m indifferent about a continental at the best of times, but felt that because I had “paid” for it, I should have it. It was pretty mediocre and I would’ve been happier for £5 - £10 off of the total price of my hotel room.
Everything spotlessly clean, comfortable, friendly and helpful staff
Good location as we were attending an event in Sefton Park
Room needed a good clean. Mouldy shower head
Clean
Lovely clean rooms ..very comfortable..lovely staff
Nothing
The only good thing about the hotel was the location to Sefton park
It was dated dirty only one member of staff working. She had to serve at the bar check people in and answer the door. It was like something out of faulty towers
Location close to Sefton Park where venue was hosting concert we were attending
Very dated. H&S questionable in bathroom with dated and unsafe lighting. Curtains didn’t close and our room overlooked the car park. Room 6. The wall paper was dated and peeling. Lighting was poor. A very dated hotel. Not happy to find out the cost was more than double the night we stayed due to Lewis Capaldi concert on nearby Sefton Park.
Location
The hour wait to be checked in then no staff at the bar, 15+ minutes to be served a drink, drinks from fridge weren’t cold.
Perfect location for concert in Sefton park
- Bathroom door didn’t shut - Pillows so thin were barely there
Good location as we were at a concert just around the corner in Sefton Park.
A full English option for breakfast would have been nice rather than the continental buffet but it was nice. Parking filled up quickly but they were able to accommodate us. Our room view consisted of a wooden fence panel blocking 85% of the window which we found funny but we only needed to sleep and shower in the room and beds were comfy and the shower was nice and hot with good pressure so ticked all the boxes.
Bed was comfortable
Took over an hour to check us in and we had a concert to go to!! They say free parking there is about four spaces all where full we had to park our brand new car on a public street well out of sight of hotel. Room was quite dirty there was coffee splashes from the last guest on the wall beside the bed the shower screen in the bathroom was disgusting the rug on the floor was frayed. One person serving in the bar when they were fully booked!!
Parking was handy.
Hotel and room are dated. The bed base had rips on both sides. Continental breakfast was ok.
Kiváló reggeli, kényelmes ágy.
Kifejezetten kellemetlen környék, slum 600 m-en belül.
Location was good
We had three rooms. One of the toilets exhaust wasn’t working.
It had character and was very comfortable for 8 of us to stay - nice lounge to sit and chat and pool table too
Nothing
Location and price
Bed was very soft. Breakfast very limited
Easy parking on road outside. Reception staff was available until late. Wide range of food for breakfast
Bathroom door handle very close to frame so caught fingers several times.
Basic but comfortable. Lovely old building. Near Sefton Park and Lark Lane
No evening meal.
Location was good, staff was very helpful and friendly
Nothing, everything was good great location and friendly staff. Our first time visiting Liverpool.
Overall well worth the money
Great location, breakfast simple but fine coffee was exceptional
Pillows on bed were poor and could have done with extra ones
Location is very good
Not including breakfast only
Great friendly staff, very helpful. Great clean rooms
The pillows are a bit on the sofa side, but thats personal preference
Location
It was very tired, understaffed and in need of a ‘refresh’.
Quirky, quiet, and easy.
The breakfast. Especially the coffee.
For a continental breakfast there was alot of choice Cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt, meats , pastries, toast etc a very nice cup of coffee , different Juices Plenty of nice soft towels, a fan in the room as we were lucky to have good weather. Bus outside the hotel which took us straight into the city and back . All in all a very pleasant stay
The shower head really needed either changing or a good scrub
Quiet area, near Sefton park ideal for Lark lane as well as getting into the city - comfortable hotel with on street parking. Nice staff
2nd stay here and v nice the only let down is the breakfast. V happy with continental breakfast & lots of choice but all pretty poor. Just my opinion but could be better to have a smaller selection of what to eat but with better quality. The coffee is really really really bad.
Nice, clean. Reasonably priced.
50 pound deposit on room on arrival takes a long time to go back on card.
10 minutes by bus to centre of Liverpool 10 minute walk to great parks
Lovely place just outside of the main city but on bus routes so easy to get back in, great staff and price and nice continental breakfast included
Nothing
Location
Fire alarm was faulty and gave lots of incovinience during breakfast
I was travelling alone so perhaps more cautious than the next guest. This was a really really reasonably priced hotel and the reviews mostly said it was clean and good. A few things on arrival gave me the jitters and I nearly bailed. I'm sure the receptionist thought I was off my rocker but when you travel alone you watch for signs that you may not be safe. I'm glad I stayed - the hotel is clean and quiet, and clearly well looked-after. The price so reasonable I'm not sure how they make money...
There were several 'Do Not' signs on the front door - it felt a bit like an old-fashioned bedsit at first. The Do Not Smoke at the front of the building was a bit surprising given the presence of a very ugly column ashtray slap bang wallop at the front of the hotel (accompanied by two sad-looking traffic cones). I started to wonder if I had made a mistake. A smiling receptionist came to the door and led me back to a well-hidden reception desk. I was asked for photo ID (often happens) and then a £50 surcharge for damages. Now I really did start to wonder - what sort of people would the other guests be? What kind of damage did the customers normally do? The receptionist clearly could not waive the charge, could not tell me what damage had ever been done by guests other than smokers (I am a non-smoker), quoted terms and conditions at me (no I had not fully read the small print) and grew a little defensive. I explained that I was starting to feel unsafe and wanted some reassurance that this was a safe place to be for a lone ageing female like me! Meanwhile the next guests arrived for check-in - I was asked to leave the reception area 'for GDPR reasons' while they checked in. It occurred to me then that the receptionist may have been as unwilling to have me stay as I was starting to feel about doing so! I don't think she could have done much different - but I thought the check-in process was pretty poor and unwelcoming. I did decide to stay (ran out of time to be honest) and the actual room was perfect. Not my style of decor but clean as a whistle with lovely cotton sheets and fluffy white towels, and a generous supply of tea and coffee sachets. All's well that ended well.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Rooms are small and not especially comfortable. Musty smell, often.
Free parking, location was good for us.
Window wouldnt close so we were woken through the night by the noise from the main road, plug socket at the side of the bed didnt work, pillows were very thin and only one, no shower mat, no where to put toiletries in the bathroom, looked like a shelf was supposed to be there but not replaced.
Convenient location excellent breakfast and friendly staff also secure free car parking
Nothing
Fabulous hotel. Loads of character and spotlessly clean. Lovely twin room at the front with large modern bathroom. Lovely welcome from friendly staff. Fan provided in the room. Very close to Sefton park.
Pillows could be better
The staff was really friendly
The room was small and the bed was very uncomfortable the mattress sunk into the middle leaving it hard to get a good sleep
The location ,free parking
Bathroom in poor condition
Great location
Excellent location, staff were really helpful and friendly,
Need more parking as in a wheelchair and can't walk to the car up the road. The shower was a bit small. More coat hangers. More choice on breakfast. Also could do with fans or Aircon. These were all only minor things though as we enjoyed our stay.
It was clean and comfortable
The room clean and comfortable. shower pressure good
The breakfast isn't very good. Small tea/coffee cups Had to keep asking for things to be refilled understaffed
Very nice breakfast
Breakfast good choice. Staff very helpful with check in etc and when we had a problem with the room door entry.
Is definitely in need of some tlc. Mattress not clean and could do with mattress protectors on them. Shelf below bathroom mirror obviously broken at some time and never replaced but fittings still there. The problem with the door was that it wouldn’t remain locked when we left the room and after we thought this had been sorted, we came back from breakfast to find the door totally jammed and couldn’t get into the room. Had to change our plans and go out for a while and return once maintenance had fixed it.
Location perfect for what I needed. Easy check in with friendly staff. Rear carpark was full but parked on the front driveway. Breakfast was good, fresh continental choice offered. Cereals, toast, fruit, porridge, croissant and waffles, yoghurt, cheese, cold meats, tea coffee and fruit juices. Bedroom ( room 14) was huge at the front. Don't expect perfection its a very old fashioned hotel, quirky but does the job.

Closes at 7pm!!!! Contacted hotel before visit. Coming up to Liverpool for a funeral. Could i drop bags off at 3.30pm then go to the wake. Replied no. Reception opens at 4pm. I travelled to Liverpool from Buckinghamshire. Went to the funeral, then wake and at 8pm got app out for address to hotel.& hotel had cancelled my booking as reception closes at 7pm!!! I ended up getting a travellodge and hotel have still refused to refund me.so unless you can check in between 4-7pm avoid!
Attitude from staff via email
Room was basic but clean
Hot water was a dribble ok if you like a cold shower. Check in asked for ID never had to do this ever in UK hotel but when questioned was patronisingly told that some hotels do this. Breakfast (continental only option) had to be the lowest quality ingredients the orange juice was so strong with artificial sweeter it made my eyes water. Ham thinner than a rizzler paper. I would normally have give face to face feedback but on checkout wasn't asked if all was ok.
Lovely bar and breakfast was good
Old curtains and furniture looked tired and dusty Had a room at the front and main road very noisy from 6.30 am
The location was good. Bedroom was clean and comfortable
Initial booking in was slow. It took about 20 minutes. We were given a room card and told we were in room 8. We tried to find it but couldn't so had to ask reception where it was. I would have liked a cooked breakfast.
Non e proprio in centro però c'è un' area verde con parco e laghetto possibiltà di mangiare qualcosa nei locali del quartiere
Character
Torn pool table
Room was clean, bed was very comfortable. Plenty of parking available. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
Room was a little cold when we initially got there. The breakfast was not to my taste.
Comfortable room with bed to match. Bathroom was also very good. Lovely shower.
Toilet lid had a grating squeak. Couldn't park at the hotel but on the road outside.
Clean bedrooms, nice bar area, all very tidy, traditional decor went with the era of the house.
Only one pillow each (all other hotels I've stayed in the default is 2 pillows per person). A £50 deposit per bedroom when you've already paid for your stay seems a bit steep/unnecessary. Breakfast, I expected to be basic, but seemed done as cheap as possible. The only coffee option available was cheap granulated coffee. Please invest in some decent filter coffee for you guests.
Good customer service and not a bad breakfast

Good location for visiting our daughter at Greenbank student village. And Lark Lane for bars and restaurants.
Needs some tlc- dated but on the whole fine.
I stayed at the hotel May 22 - 25, 2026. It was my worst mightmare. the rooms were in very poor condition. room 24 had windows broken in 2 places and was secured with cellotape. the furniture in the room are very dated and very tatty. the chair was ripped and had pieces of sponge falling out of it we had to avoid sitting on it and kept sitting in the bed. I went to reception and reported my concerns and was told its only cosmetic and does not affect the use of the room. On the 23 May I could not have a shower, as there was no hot water or water coming from the taps. I had to go and shower in one of my friends room. I reported the concern to reception, they promised to move me but later that day I had an email saying they couldnt do so. Again the water issue was not resolved. On another night I was unable to shower again I reported the concern. The night reception told me he couldnt call a plumber out and someone had let the tap running thats why I have no water , the tank was complete drained. I asked him so how do we resolve this issue, he only apologised for my inconvenience and left the room. Again i had to go and disturb my friends in a room on the 1st floor to habe a shower again. This was 1:20am in the morning! On the morning of Monday 25May, again no water to shower, I went back to reception to report the concern. I was given a key for another room to go and shower. Another inconveniemce for me again. The room I went to room 5 , had a shower cubicle that was so small you could not stretch your arms out horizontal , you could only stretch upwards vertical. I quickly showered and left the room. I would never return to this hotel, neither would i recommend anyone to stay at this hotel. Also, they have a policy that you must pay £50 via a bank card before staying. Taking a picture of your ID too. They claim this will cover any damages you make. This bit of information was not visible on the booking.com site , so please be careful when making bookings.
A simpatia de todos os funcionários , principalmente da Virgínia.
O quarto, a cama super desconfortável , o pequeno-almoço muito muito fraco
The hotel is below standard of what a accommodation should be. No water in the middle of a shower. Broken lights. Yet had to pay £50 if anything is damage. Broken chairs. Loose bathroom tiles. Chipped bath. Deplorable condition.
Everything about this hotel is wrong. Should be reported to health and safety authority
Nothing
Customer service and putting us in a dirty apartment round the corner
Slept well. Good location for Sefton Park. Generally ok.
The shower was a bit rubbish. Don't get too excited about breakfast.
The lady on Reception was delightful, she explained which buses to use, directions to restaurants etc. It made our visit to Liverpool much easier. The buffet breakfast covered everything from cereals, continental and traditional. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
As it was extremely cold and wet during our stay, the room was a little chilly. However the room was comfortable and very clean.
Great location for university, nice staff
Very good customer service with friendly staff. The continental breakfast had a wide choice of foods and was very generous. The cleanliness of the room and facilities was excellent. A great value for money place to stay - warm, comfortable, spotlessly clean, with welcoming staff and well located for the city centre with a good bus service from right outside the hotel. And also great location for walks in lovely parks - Sefton Park and Princes Park. Would definitely stay there again. Thank you!
The coffee could have been hotter! The over bed lights could do with re-positioning or changing.
Friendly staff. Comfortable beds. Good value for money
Would have liked a English breakfast, but realise the price would have to change
