Restaurant and the quirky bits throughout the hotel
The bed was hard, noise from other rooms like taps being turned on and squeaky floorboards meant sleep was disturbed.
The hotel was great, staff were super and the place was clean
Charged a surcharge when paying for our meal not give an option.
The place was amazing
The room was lovely xxx
2nd time at this hotel, excellent location with really friendly and helpful staff. Good facilities, good restaurant and bar would recommend a stay for short or long periods of relaxation.
Location
The pictures of the rooms on booking.com are nothing like the rooms
Location
Good location with car park.
We booked a suite and the view out of the front window was a stone wall. That was disappointing.
location
room dated wallpaper hanging off and shower very poor
Excellent location
Room was dated and very dark. Cheap furniture - wardrobe door doesn’t close Creaky floorboards from rooms above and adjacent
The location, the staff, the service, the rooms are lovely, and the Fat Badger is a fantastic place for food and drinks.
Nothing
The rooms are looking shabby &need updating room was for 2 only one chair in room
Shabby decore, worn carpets, old fashion bedrooms, no fans in rooms for warm weather, no drawers for clothes only a small wardrobe that an ironing board took up most of space
Location
Wi-Fi didn’t work. Arrival receptionist miserable. Shower low pressure. Room opposite lift.
Location was excellent facilities great staff fab
No air con it was during a heatwave the staff can’t help that but lack of air con wasn’t pleasant
Location
Liked everything
Location and friendly and helpful staff.
Excellent location.
Room felt a bit too cluttered and dark.
The position
Having to pay £15.00 for an over night stay, as a guest of yge hotel in the rear hotel car park! Having to pay extra for breakfast. Essentially paying £95.00+ for a bed for 1 night
Getting sent to a room already occupied by someone else. Dirty room - chocolate (or worse) all over the head board. Shower pressure was very very poor with shower curtain - very poor. The reception team did not seem phased by any of the complaints and nothing was offered to resolve or apologise.
Great location and the staff was very professional when we did have an incident when a staff member had not actually booked us in as requested but it was soon addressed by evening booking staff and our evening meal was lovely thank you
Beautiful building and location
Location and adjacent bar
Room was too small with insufficient room to get around the bed. Should be classed as a single.Welcome from reception was non-existent. Restaurant had a very limited menu but staff were ok.
The ceiling in the room was leaking, this had clearly been happening for some time and there was a large damp patch on carpet.
Proximity to the local attractions. Nice apartment set up in the Macrae suite.
Bed was a little too soft for us personally. Won’t put us off staying again though.
Room was large and very clean. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast sausages tasty.
Breakfast buffet style for hot food means fried eggs and scrambled eggs get dried out on top, not appetising. Could a cover be put over top of these to stop this.
Housekeeping & reception staff were good and efficient. The food in the restaurant was lovely, no complaints, only compliments.
The room was ok, however the phone wasn't connected and I needed to contact reception due to accident in the room. The on duty manager lying to ourselves is why the staff mark is so low. I would advise that if someone has a disability and have contacted the hotel to advise this, then maybe the hotel should ask the guests if they have any requirements, before the visit.
We stayed in the Apartments as requested for the 3rd time in a few months. Great Apartments, very clean, fantastic location, lovely staff on check in and out.
The only thing I would say a full length mirror would have been nice to gave. There was plenty wall space to add this.
Location is excellent. Bed is comfy. Breakfast is very good. Bar area was lively.
Just the young lady on reception when we arrived and left - she had no customer service skills and seemed completely disinterested. When we asked to leave luggage, she simply pointed to a cupboard. No smile, no welcome, no thank you! Did not create a positive first impression! All other staff were friendly. The reception area and corridors leading to the toilets and bar are very dark! Maybe lighten the ground floor up a bit?
The location is perfect and the bar is a hot spot The bed was comfortable
The rooms although described as standard double are on the small side with basic accessories such as soap & shower gel
Location great for exploring Harrogate. Breakfast great, multiple choices of food. Easy parking although cost £15 per night. Visited Betty's tea rooms which is a must. Pre book if you can. Evening meal very good.
Breakfast was hot and good. Staff attentive location very good
Shabby room standard. Dirty. Asked to change room next morning and told by a frosty person on reception all standard rooms are the same. Not true room 106 shabby and threadbare carpets you could see the lines from under the floorboards. Stained and filthy. The view was the back of a building opposite. Room 116. Clean. Nice carpet. Rain shower and view Both supposedly standard rooms.
Best check in experience I've ever had. Room was spacious and beautiful. Love the Fat Badger!
A mix up at breakfast, saying that we hadn't paid which was a tad embarrassing as we'd paid the day before. It was handled quite well by the staff, and think it was a room number mix up.
Excellent location and attentive staff
Pillows wete a little uncomfortable !
Cleanliness, general care of the staff and general location
Bedroom a little cramped
The location and historical character as well as the quality of food which was excellent.
The old charm of the hotel, an interesting history, on booking I ask for preferences, the hotel obliged.
The upper car park steps are awkward to climb with luggage, but that may be that I am an elderly person, younger people may not have a problem.

Breakfast was very good. Staff friendly and location great for seeing Harrogate.
All round good
Nothing
Good central location and a comfortable room. Nice breakfast buffer (didn't eat dinner there). Parking provided (not very cheap)
Parking was a little pricey and tight spaces but at least it was on site.
Was unable to stay asked if could re-book it but said no so lost money
The location was excellent for our needs. Secure parking and right in the heart of Harrogate.
Very hard to think of any negative comments
Great location
Nothing to dislike really
The white hart hotel is all round fabulous the location the friendly staff that comfy beds we stay there everything we go to Harrogate 👌
Nothing
Very comfortable room with kettle. Nice breakfast. Easy parking and central location. Attached to a very nice bar/restaurant
Parking charge a bit high
Great location, comfortable room
Nothing to complain about really
The location was excellent, right in the centre
I thought the room was a decent size but thought it was going t be bigger. In approaching the hotel the outside of the building is very impressive but inside it was quite dark and tge corridors at bit dated
The location was a bonus. The staff in the pub and restaraunt we very polite and friendly.
The first room we were assigned to room 314, I was very dissapointed with. I asked the young lady on reception if ww could change the room. We were relocated to room 107 which was better by far. Two of the ladies on reception when checking in were not very welcoming at all. However, the lady on reception when we checked out was different altogether.
Nice room at front of hotel, room was well kept and clean. Food in fat badger very nice.
Didn’t like the extra charge for tip and upkeep of building that was applied to our bill for food in restaurant, it maybe a thing for me personally as I always leave a tip anyway but 12% isa bit much.
Good location centrally for Harrogate. Decent parking available. Room was a very decent size. Clean and well furnished. Breakfast was very good although came at an additional cost. Overall nice stay.
Nothing
Great location. Very helpful staff. Rooms in apartment block very modern with superb bathroom. Nice breakfast. On-site parking (chargeable) very convenient.
Noise from outside seated bar area. Bed far too small for 2 adults. Breakfast chaotic and staff too busy to offer top up tea or coffee but very helpful when asked to do so.
The hotels location is perfect, right in the Montpellier area which is very smart
I thought hotel parking at £15 a night was expensive and dearer than most of the other hotels.
Nice restaurant nice bathroom
Dirty corridor carpets
Central
Unclean
Friendly receptionist, nice room and fantastic location. Lovely meal in the restaurant/bar.
Nothing to dislike
It was a bustling hotel with a large very busy pub. The room measurements are clearly in the room descriptions so I can’t understand why many reviewers complain about this fact. Room was clean but not to a good standard. Otherwise, you need to pay for parking and staff are very nice. I had dinner which was very good.
That you need to pay for parking otherwise it’s a great place
Brilliant Location, Friendly staff, clean rooms
Car park was full and the shower wasn’t great
Great central location, fantastic staff.
Room was very small, shower low power
Location. Spacious room. Good parking facilities.
Corridors to rooms dark and dated.
Very welcoming, lovely place to stay, definitely stay there again.
Excellent service and staff
Everywhere was dar too hot and uncomfortable , sweating...

Close to centre and all places of interest
Centrally located to Harrogate's town centre. Good on-site parking, which you pay extra for on arrival. The hotel bar has a nice vibe and appears to be popular.
Room was warm & stuffy...kept the window wide open when we were in the room to cool the room down. Could hear very little road noise from outside, so this worked well. There was a small desk fan in the room, which we also used, but I didn't think it was very effective. The water pressure is low from the shower head over the bath. My husband, who is 6ft tall said the placement of the shower head was not high enough, but it's fixed and can't be moved or adjusted, so that was a little awkward, but we managed.
Well located on town centre

Food and room
Parking
Lovely and clean, room cosy and comfortable, had everything we needed for our 2 night stay
Nothing
The room was cozy with a fan provided to help keep the room cool.
The water pressure in the shower was poor.
Location is brilliant, but we never had the breakfast
Nice spacious room with a view onto the town.Food was great in the Fat Badger.Staff were very friendly int the Fat Badger pub and Restaurant
Receptionist was very miserable. Didn't even say hello or welcome she was just fixated on getting us to pay for the parking. Didn't mention booking for evening meal or breakfast which I would of thought would have been a pre requisite.
Love the location Staff very friendly Love the Fat Badger Nice to sit outside on a lovely evening Nice to see dogs are welcome
Room was very very small If we had realised how small we would have booked a larger room No view and windows would not stay open We did get a fan as it was so hot
Fantastic staff part of the hotel & bar. Location excellent
Nothing
Everything suited our needs, great location , friendly staff, comfortable bed even got a front facing room that we had requested. Fab having the Fat Badger joining the hotel. Stayed here several times and certainly will return
The breakfast was good but wasn't very hot but that might be my preference
The room was large Ned was comfortable and it was clean.
Massive bedroom tiny wardrobe. The room wasn’t in the hotel and nobody showed us to the room which was in a building next door but one. Breakfast was average didn’t seem to be topped up.
It was central
The bed was only 3/4 bed on double base
Staff very good
Room was very basic, not as described.
It was right in the centre
The breakfast set up was chaotic - not enough staff and ran out of everything
The bed was very comfy. The breakfast was delicious.
The view from our room
Location was excellent Pub next door
Room dated and quite small
above the front door with the stag outside the window
noise and traffic noise
Breakfast fine location excellent
Nothing
Good size room, very quite.
Location
Advertised as having a seating area but one hard wooden chair. Spoke to staff who apologised but nothing was done
Brilliant
Rooms could do with more air ventilation
Location was great. The lady at reception was very friendly and helpful.
Nothing
The location was perfect, just a short walk and you were right in the centre of Harrogate. Cold Bath Road itself has AAA Vinyl Coffee House & Bar and Olivers Fish & Chip Shop & Restaurant (gluten free available), both of which are well worth a visit. The hotel was itself was decorated beautifully, and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was small but had a great view over the street (which I had requested), the bed was comfortable and everything was clean.
The en suite door didn't fit properly so it made a loud noise when opening and closing, which is not great when one of you needs the loo in the middle of the night and wakes the other one up. The Internet didn't work until the morning we left so I used up my mobile data. The TV was just terrestrial and couldn't be connected to streaming services which seems a little behind the times.
Clean accommodation, friendly staff, great value
The room was lovely, the breakfast was delicious & the service was excellent. We loved the Fat Badger, food great & drinks excellent and not too pricey. The location of the hotel was perfect for us.
Breakfast was great. Also, the choices of beers at the bar - 1664 on draught was a pleasant surprise!
Everything. Great location exactly were we wanted to be. Friendly staff, lovely raised seating area opposite the hotel
Nothing
The room was clean and comfortable. It was in a great location.
The noise from the pub downstairs was intrusive. We were on the 1st floor and it was very loud.
Excellently situated, lovely breakfast, very friendly helpful staff
"Cosy" rooms - as advertised. Friendly staff. Enjoyable stay.
Nothing really
only stayed overnight but room was fine and breakfast good
Outdoor dining, beautiful breakfast room , decor , lovely food, carpark & location
Nothing
Great location
Had to change rooms as ours was extremely dark and walls scuffed and dirty, bathroom tiny and I had paid for a decent room as it was my husbands 50th while we were there, room we were given much better although they wanted me to pay extra! They did give me the room at same cost in the end! Breakfast is not adequate facilities for the amount of residents there, tiny hot plate so kept having to wait for fresh food coming out! Only offered one hot drink and no facilities to make own at breakfast! Needs to be better for the price point!
Excellent breakfast great location
Beds bit on the hard side ,shower curtain would be better replaced by a screen
Excellent position really clean loved the apartment and the parking was great very easy , food in the fat badger brilliant as was the breakfasts , would definitely recommend and stay again
Carpet’s dirty rotten reception staff miserable Rooms are dated
Carpet’s dirty rotten reception staff miserable Rooms are dated breakfast was rubbish had to Waite 20 mins for a sausage
Good location, good food and a nice bar to sit and enjoy drinks.
Room location above the bar. Very noisy until after closing time. Room strange layout and with a circus theme.
I stay here often with work. It is always a warm welcome. Nice, clean and tidy, well maintained rooms. Obviously this is why I return again and again.
On this one occasion (I stay here a lot). Room 318, the bathroom needs a little TLC (shower fitting/water pressure). But it still all worked.
