Great location and atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful every time we needed anything. Being able to walk everywhere was a plus. Only 15 min walk to Ambleside but bar enough away to enjoy the quiet area around the lake

Ok but a variation in the continental options would have been appreciated. Different fruit, bread jams. Layout not ideal…too many trips to table for elderly carrying plates.

Das Hotel ist schon sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Schmutziger Teppichbelag, Frühstück sehr einseitig, kein frisches Obst, nur Toastbrot und ansonsten typisch englisch. Das Dinner im Restaurant ist aber sehr empfehlenswert. Vor dem Hotel gibt es einen Busstop um in die verschiedenen Orte im Lake District zu kommen. Das ist super komfortabel!

Cobwebs all over the ceiling and chandeliers in my room. Matress’ were saggy and uncomfortable. The divans weren’t put together very well so caught my foot on it. Parking was awful, with some taking up 2 spaces. Before it was the Inn collection, we would get the parking fee back if we parked in the council car park, that was £10!! Overall I think it needs money spending on things, door handles, taps (were broken)

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Just around the Hotel could been a little tidier. After visiting a number of Guest Houses and B&B’s in Scotland and England, I’ve noticed most do care of the bedrooms through the building, but the outsides are neglected and it wouldn’t take much to increase their curb appeal.

Not clean. Bathroom trash not cleaned for two days, towels on the floor not changed and floor not vacuumed for the whole stay.

Needed a thorough clean in the bar areas lampshades in the standing lamps were dusty and had lots of spiders in them and cobwebs .

The bar staff and breakfast staff extremely friendly and welcoming .

The room was not value for money and dirty and not comfortable. Top of wardrobe thick with dust. Filthy bathroom. Tv didn’t work .mattress so worn and thin. Carpet dirty .

Have stayed here before so knew where it was located and it’s perfect , right next to the lake and the boats should you want a trip on one and also plenty of bus stops to take you wherever you want . The staff were lovely especially the bartender the younger guy :) and the waitress on the evening they could not do enough for you and always had a smile on their face . The rooms are big and spacious . The breakfast is nice buffet style although you get just basic tea and coffee you have to buy lattes etc The restaurant decor I love it’s a bit of me and the food we ate 10/10 .

Our room looked like it hadn’t been cleaned for month. Cobwebs in the bedside lampshades and the coffee table . I took photos ! There was spillage up the furniture for the price you pay you expect cleanliness to be 10/10 . The corridor doors too when some one walks through which was right up to midnight bang so loud and the early staff or visitors going through them it kept waking us up at night and woke us up at the crack of dawn on the morning Down stairs the restaurant had thick dust on the back of the dating that were Benches I don’t remember on our last stay the mattresses been so hard and thin and ours were two single pushed together I just felt Abit let down on this visits which has made me think I won’t stay here as first option again below pics taken from video best I could of how thick the dust was on the coffee table

Good points: Location, Friendly Staff, Room was spacious with a view of the Lake (was dog friendly), Breakfast, evening meal & cleanliness.

Only bad point: Intermittent noise coming from bathroom which was slightly annoying throughout the night and Car Parking was an issue (not enough spaces).

Breakfast was chaotic; food availability not adequately monitored, the manager was diligent & worked off his feet but other staff, especially at weekend were disinterested , slow & often disappeared . Need for training & greater managerial oversight.

Breakfast very good but the food was a little cold, the tables (in the bar) are a bit small, would have been better served in the restaurant area.

television in one room did not work. we raised it with staff. nobody came to fix it. reported it again at end of stay. were told the management would be back in touch. they were not. one wet afternoon we thought we could come in afternoon and get coffee. we were told the hotel dod not do that. we had to go back out and find a cafe.

It was a lovely hotel,the food was good and the staff were friendly, nothing was to much for them always happy to help

We were on the top floor and the lift only went to one floor so I struggled getting up stairs,it was partially my fault I should have booked a ground for but I will next time

The location of the inn with the view of the water was really special. A very cute restaurant downstairs with decent food (albeit extremely slow to get food to table). Huge shoutout to Elliott who was just such an awesome staff member and really made our stay better.

Black mould in the bathroom. They managed to scrub some of it off but the smell and mould did still remain. Unfortunately lead to some pretty nasty symptoms as we stayed 7 nights. However we couldn’t move rooms as was fully booked, and they said most bathrooms would have the same issue because of lack of ventilation / windows. Cleaning also really not great. Possibly the most dust and dirt I’ve ever seen under beds, behind furniture & behind bedside tables. Cleaners seldom came (despite putting the service sign on my door), and when they did it was bare minimum. Honestly it’s a shame but I really wouldn’t stay here again, the rooms need some serious revamping. But I’d definitely visit the restaurant and area again.

Food was delicious with a good range of choise. The room was beautifully decorated and furnished and the enormous queensize bed was very comfortable. The location, overlooking the shore of Lake Windermere is spectacular.

The great breakfast, the location, the helpful and flexible staff-it was not in the middle of busy amble side, but close enough to walk and close to the sites we wanted to see the water head. Pier was right across the street, which was very convenient.

Location is perfect. Overlooking the lake. Lake cruises is just few minutes walk. Ambleside to Bowness return is £19.20/adult. From the hotel, Ambleside town is about 20-25 minutes walk. Free parking. Rooms are well appointed. We requested fans prior in each room as too hot. Comfortable bed. Very good breakfast. The lady during breakfast was so attentive. It's our second time to stay here. The last time was about 15yrs ago

No air condition. The hotel is good but I think overnight stay would be enough as not much to do after once you've done the cruise and visited the town. You've got to walk to town as no restaurants near the hotel.

There was neither AC nor Fan provided in the room. We asked for a fan and no one provided that. The room was not kept clean as there were small spiders in the room.

It's a lovely restaurant/pub/inn right by Lake Windermere. The view of the lake and hills is great, and they have special rooms with lake views. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Plus the attached pub and restaurant made dining quite convenient. There are also a few parking spaces for hotel guests.

The shower controls were a bit confusing, but we figured it out quickly.

Very dog friendly. Dogs allowed everywhere including the dining room. Beautiful well maintained facilities. Excellent restaurant with exceptional wait staff. Across from the lake.

The elevator was broken. Our room was on the 1st floor so getting our luggage & dog up the steps was a chore.

What a lovely place. Great location, great room over looking the Lake. Great food and I have to say, wonderful staff who made my first visit to the Lakes so so memorable

The location was great, the room size was perfect was comfortable.

Unfortunately I thought the service wasn’t great at times, the staff looked rushed and stressed and often you could tell by the look on their face. The breakfast was average if you got there later the pastries were all gone.

There wasn’t much left for a hot breakfast when we came down despite it still being very early. What we had was lovely but not much of it.

The location was very good. The room was a good size and had a great view of the lake. The bed was large and comfortable and the bathroom was fine.

There was an inadequate car park so we had to pay £20 to park in a nearby car park. Also there were no beers on draughts yet it said on the way in that there were!

Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who where brilliant, the hotel was so amazing we have booked to go back for our anniversary

Everything was excellent for our stay and we noted in particular just how happy all the staff seemed to be which is great to see. My daughter wants to return which is praise indeed !

The shower was ok but it’s a little weak plus the shower curtain is constantly moving and touching you , which , when wet, is a little annoying .

The location is amazing. It’s close to the lake and you can hop on the bus to get to Windermere or take a boat there. The staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good.

The hotel wasn’t particularly clean. Perhaps it was due to a shortage of staff. When I arrived the tables in the room were dusty and the fan was covered in dust. The room was also full with spiders. I expected a thorough clean and new sheets when I placed the cleaning sign but that wasn’t the case. Some sheets were clean while others had stains, including the towels. The toilet flush was difficult to use as you had to press multiple times in order for it to flush. The entire room was unbearably hot. Despite my experience, the staff did try to resolve some of my concerns about the sheets and spiders, which I appreciated.

Location is superb, staff were lovely and the app was introduced to me which I was not aware of before my stay and as I live very near an inn collective pub / hotel I will use regularly.

Some small maintenance issues such as flaking paint on our bedroom ceiling. Decorating team were on site during our stay so maybe these things were about to be addressed

This was probably the most did appointing part of our stay. The good was acceptable but not delicious and seemed a little disorganised, despite some of the staff working very hard. Waiting for plates, eggs. Quality of sausages and bacona very average. Staff very accommodating and helpful.

The staff were very friendly, professional, and handled our complaint well. We also appreciated that the hotel acknowledged the issue and refunded half of the cost of our stay.

Unfortunately, our stay was disappointing. The room was extremely hot and stuffy, making it very uncomfortable to sleep. On top of that, there was constant noise from outside, so even with the windows open it was difficult to get any rest. The bathroom was also not properly cleaned, which was not what we expected. We really appreciate how professionally and kindly the staff handled our complaint, and we are grateful that the hotel acknowledged the problems by refunding half of the cost of our stay. However, these issues had a significant impact on our overall experience, and unfortunately we would not choose to stay here again.

部屋は広くゆったりしていて調度品も良く高級感があった。朝食も良かった。

朝食をサーブしている時に既に他の係員からルームナンバーを告げていたにもかかわらず、失礼な女性係員から分かりにくい英語で詰問されフロントまで連れて行かれ、ルームナンバーを聞かれた。それまでの良かった印象は怒りで台無しになった。 もう1点。チェックインの際に午後3時少し前に到着したら、椅子に座り5分待たされたが、チェックインで待たされたのは初めての経験で、違和感を感じた。 総じて野卑な田舎対応。 ロンドンのホテル係員の方が対応はフレンドリーかつ上品で英語も判り易いと思う。 また、 古い建物の為か、部屋の14号室に行くのに迷路で分かりにくく、写真の様な湖の見える景色の良い部屋ではなく当ホテルの建物が視界を遮っていたて残念だった。 当ホテルと同系列の少し北にあるWateridge innは全て湖に面していてベランダもあって良さそうに見えた。

Location was brilliant and the ambience. Loved the fact it was facing the lake. Rooms were comfortable. Only wished the windows could have been opened wider as it was hot during the day .

The housekeeping staff was very rude . The first day they didn’t even clean the room , just said they heard voices from the room so didn’t bother asking. We found empty soda bottles in our room when we came back which was clear that some one was in our room after we left !

Our room had not been serviced/cleaned; Jess, the lady who attended, was really good and made up for the lapse. Sue at the restaurant was exceptionally helpful. Even guided us to local 'must-see' sites

湖畔の景色が綺麗で、朝食のレストランも窓からの景色がとても良かった。 ホテルがバス停から近くて、移動が便利だった。

TVでワールドカップのイングランド戦を見ようとしたら、ホテルの中でアクセスが集中したのか、途中からインターネットテレビが繋がらなくなって全く見られなくなってしまった。とても残念だった。

Good location, 15/20 minute walk to the main Ambleside town

More effort needed on basic details, no water in the room, asked at reception the day after & we were given a room temperature bottle of water, still no water the next day or the day after! Lattes/cappuccinos etc not included at breakfast, have to pay extra. Only basic tea & coffee included. Not a lot of variety of fresh fruit available either. Not enough effort from staff, attention to detail & basic hospitality missing!

The location is the very best x the terrace overlooking the lake is unbeatable x some to the staff were absolutely brilliant x the parking was ample x restaurant was great

We struggled with our luggage - getting it to and fro our rooms … a porter or an offer of assistance would have been greatly appreciated x Whilst some staff were absolutely amazing - there were an equal amount of staff who were lacking in training/skills and fell short of understanding what ‘hospitality’ actually meant.

Beds and mattress were super uncomfortable and the rooms are very tiny. We were with a toddler with a tiny bed for 2 adults and 1 baby. 4 nights i barely slept . Breakfast was super boring, not much variety, not many fruits , not worth the price at all

Great Location.

Water only provided on day1!! On day 2 thought they had missed my room so went to reception only to be told in no uncertain and an impolite way by 3 staff that water was not replenished and to go to the kiosk in the car park next door and buy some (which was closed). Paid the full nightly rate each day so very poor policy not to replenish water and disgusting staff attitudes.
