Nice place
Cleaning and good costume service
Location and the rooms are nice
The cost :)
Ponen la habitación que cuenta con sofá cama, si lo tiene, pero es muuuuy incómodo y ruidoso
The rooms were nice and clean. I thought the breakfast was wonderful. There was a lot to pick from and the food was good. It was easy to check in and out. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was located close to our event.
I have no complaints.
Terrible breakfast and why you advertise free parking and free breakfast all lies. Never again i would stay at this facility.
Breakfast and parking.
Emplacement
Le nettoyage de la chambre l était pas quotidien
It was ok… just didnt like being in such a busy part of the city… I made a mistake thinking I was close to the Lake. Booking.com gave me incorrect information on location.
Too much noise - too busy for me.
They gave me the wrong room
They gave me the wrong room
The employee at the front desk was very nice and welcoming
I paid extra for a city view room, and I was literally staring at the wall of another building. I did not see the city and I paid extra for that.
Tried to cancel my room 25 hours in advance and the hotel denied it.
Said there was free breakfast and was charged $62.00 for a breakfast that was disgusting. We filled out plates at the buffet and left the table with the same amount of food on our plates because it was not good.
On my tips across the Country,I always stay at this property. It is close to Union Station and convenient to the attractions of Chicago. Being in the Loop,it is a great location for Business travelers. The Hotel is clean, efficient and the service is excellent. To that end,I would like to commend the following- Marisa,Oscar,Julian,Claudia,Melody,ArhantyArtem,Aiarha,Lucia and Kim. Thank You one and All!
Was very roomy
Pool hours
My child found a unmarked pill in the room under desk due to poorly cleaned room staff not concerned at all had to complain 3 times before it was addressed supervisor never contacted me very basic room I spent more for the city view not worth it over priced rooms no parking
Helpful staff, convenient location
A bit overpriced on Saturdays for what you get.
Customer service and cleanliness. The view was perfect!
I enjoyed the size of hotel - was easy walk to our room. Breakfast buffet was good and affordable. Good value.
Room was spacious but was looking directly into another building.
Todo está céntrico
Satisfecha con todo
A home away from home except better!!! No one cooks me a fantastic breakfast like they did at the Hyatt! This is a very quiet, very clean and very welcoming place. The staff, especially Mr. Brandon, made our stay special. All of our needs were looked after and we were treated like guests! Enjoy your stay here and don’t miss breakfast or the chess set set up on a lobby table!
The check-in experience was terrible. We arrived at 4 and our room was not ready (not a huge deal) but then we were told it would be 10-15 minutes, we sat there for 30 before we had to start getting ready for the event we even made the visit for. We were told we would get a text when the room was ready. We never got a text (eventually got an email). We moved heaven and earth to make it to Chicago for a concert and had to change in the lobby bathroom because our room wasn't ready. Once again, not the worst but could have been communicated better before, during, and after we made arrangements to make up for Hyatt's mistake. You're part of people's big experiences, you can't drop the ball like that.
Quick couples trip. The hotel staff were friendly, the rooms were clean, and the room was affordable. On the down side I wish they would have had valet parking.
I liked that the air conditioning works well.
They don’t have a discount for people who stay longer and have to find parking for their cars. Very small TV, you have to assemble the sofa bed yourself, the TV audio did not work properly, they do not clean your room the next day.
I arrived at the Hyatt Place Chicago/Downtown – The Loop with plenty of time before an event I had traveled to Chicago to attend. Unfortunately, my room wasn't ready. That by itself wouldn't have been a major issue. I understand that housekeeping can occasionally run behind. The problem was that the delay continued well past check-in time, and the front desk could not give me any estimate whatsoever for when a room would actually be available. As my 5 PM event approached, I was still sitting in the lobby without a room and without an ETA. I had planned enough time to check in, charge my devices, change, and get ready before leaving. Instead, I spent that time repeatedly trying to find out whether I would actually have a room. Eventually I called Hyatt corporate customer service myself. They put me on hold while they contacted the property directly to try to resolve the situation. Even then, I still did not have a usable solution in time. I finally gave up, walked to the nearby Residence Inn, and was able to secure a room there immediately. Only after I had already arranged alternate accommodations did the Hyatt call me. I understand that hotels occasionally have operational problems. What I don't find acceptable is taking a reservation, failing to provide the room after the stated check-in time, and then being unable to give the guest even an estimated time when the room will be available. I shouldn't have had to contact corporate and ultimately book a second hotel just to know that I would have somewhere to stay that night. This experience disrupted the event I had specifically traveled to Chicago to attend and completely eliminated the time I'd allowed to settle in and get ready. I won't be staying at this property again, and unfortunately this experience has made me reluctant to book Hyatt in the future.
It was very clean, smaller than anticipated but that ok. Breakfast was nice.
Some cost were misleading. I thought parking was included, not additional cost. Also thought breakfast was included in cost, not additional cost.
Cleanness, room size, location and staff
There is no parking in the facility The room was hot
We went to Chicago on a family trip, and the Hyatt Place Chicago Downtown/The Loop was conveniently located for us to enjoy the city. The staff was pleasant and helpful, the facilities were clean and updated, and the food was better than expected. For being on a busy street in the Loop, the noise was not too bad. We enjoyed the indoor pool, as well. This hotel does not offer parking and they warn you about that in advance. However, once you arrive there is also a QR code to scan for discounted parking with in/out privileges - I wish we had known about that in advance, as I had prepaid for parking nearby based on the information provided online and in the Hyatt app.
$50 to check in one hour early !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice staff
The couch bed was uncomfortable and didn’t have extra sheets/blankets in room. Calcium build up in shower, water spraying everywhere.
Location was fine
Rooms were Outdated TV, Bedding, Bathing Towels, Carpet etc.
Location, however will never return nor recommend to others.
Hyatt stay 7/31-8/1 fridge non-working-had to call to replace (Manny, a maintenance engineer, could not have been nicer or more accommodating) only enough towels for 2, had to call for additional towels ) they were 2 children in addition to the 2 adults couldn’t get streaming from our phones to tv pull out bed -mattress coils could be felt when kids laid done (7& 8 year old) 8 year old refused to sleep in mattress with coils could be felt. curled up on the short part of the couch pulled out sleeper sofa-no sheets, or blanket sheets brought up ( one sheet corner had a big tear in it) were told we had to make it up ourselves. mattress in terrible condition when we called for a replacement were told no replacements available we asked for a Manager-told none available no fitted sheet and the sheets they brought us were for a queen size bed-way to long rate was about 650.00 ( prices jacked up because of lolopalzo? Plus we faced a brick wall for this outrageous price! also-no pillows for the sofa only 2 cups in bathroom-needed 4
The location and great customer service
The sewer smell in the bathroom’s drains and the gnats. Management took care of the smell and less gnats.
The rooms were very clean and comfortable.
There wasn’t anything I didn’t like.
Rooms fit 6 people. Beds were comfortable.
No microwave. Parking instructions for app not given prior to arrival resulting in double charge parking fees. View from room was the building next door and can feel they can see into the room.
Beds were comfortable, water pressure was good and location was accessible. My children loved the chess set!
Some staff were not hospitable or responsive when the concern of cleanliness was brought to their attention, especially the night management staff. We were told there were different tiers of cleaning even though we initially requested as daily full cleaning. The bathrooms were not cleaned, the beds were not always made, the floor was sticky and filthy and the surfaces had a layer of dust. Had to file a formal complaint to get them to properly clean the room and remove a comforter with blood stain. We had to request for towels for our family of 5 every day. Was eventually partially comped for a day and breakfast, Julian and Aiasha were very responsive and thoughtful. Julian helped me find aan urgent care location when my son broke out in hives on Sunday afternoon. Bartender didnt want to make a coffee drink because he didnt want to clean the machine so he sent my husband to starbucks. We were treated differently because we booked through booking.com and we were reminded of our third party booking every time we interacted with the front desk. The last 2 days of our stay they finally cleaned somewhat properly. Requested print out of cost the night before, front desk staff refused to do so because she stated there may not be all the charges and she said some folks then dispute the charges. At check out staff again refused to provide receipt because we booked through booking.com. Had to show proof of discrepancy in cost from my own laptop to get Julian to finally listen and print out receipt as we paid during check in. Overall our stay was not very pleasant.
The hotel itself is very nice. Everything was clean. Our room was great! The hotel staff were pleasant and helpful. We even ate dinner at the hotel restaurant and it was decent food. I wanted to give this hotel an excellent review, but their pool was extremely disappointing! I picked the hotel partly because it had a pool and with a younger child, I knew that would be something she would enjoy in the evening. When we arrived, we were informed the pool closed at 8pm. I've stayed at several hotels and the earliest I have every known the pool to close was 10pm. So, we were disappointed by that. But, when we went down to swim, we were even more disappointed to find that the pool was barely bigger than a large bathtub. There were about 10 people, 8 or 9 kids and 1 adult, and it was a full pool. I would stay here again, if I just needed a nice hotel to stay at and didn't want a fun activity for my kids to do in the evening.
Customer service is terrible. The room is dirty. The beds are really hard, very uncomfortable, I didn’t even get extra blankets for the bed. we had to call it down to the front desk to get blankets. Also, we need a more towels, we wasn’t able to experience the pool because of the hours. The worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in.
Convenient
It’s great
La comodidad en el complejo
The staff was very friendly and helpful
Location
When we arrived we have to wait for our rooms be ready for 30to 45 minutes
AC working great all night
Lighting was lacking
Easy access to buses. Comfortable location.
I think the breakfast should be complimentary, considering the hotel room rate. Still wasn’t too expensive for breakfast and my daughter was free.
El personal es muy amable
Breakfast was great, a lot to choose from. The Bacon 🩷!!!!!
I have no complaints at all.
The hotel is so close to all the famous attractions making movement easier
My only issue was uber which has nothing to do with the hotel
Nice, clean place but really challenging to park in their recommended lot because iParkit did not work on mobile app or browser. Must use laptop or desktop browser. Breakfast ends at 9, which was hard for us to get up for since we were still on West coast time. Pool floor is perforated metal so may feel like a cheese grater on your foot during boisterous games of Marco Polo.
Good location, nice when clean. Staff helpful and attentive.
They seemed short staffed, didn’t clean rooms daily.
The staff was not that welcoming. It seems they were in hurry and was trying to avoid the customers and move on to their own business.
Everything
good location, and i got a good price on hotwire, but only to find out that for that price breakfast is not included, so we needed up paying 11 per person for breakfast, which is still worth it I guess. if you had bigger family like fam of 4 you should not book through 3rd party. one issue is the window we had, there is no light coming in because it opens to a narrow gap between two big buildings.. we had to have lights on at all times
My family and I recently stayed at Hyatt Place Chicago Downtown/the Loop and it was a very nice stay. 1. Location: The location was convenient to where you want to be in Chicago. About a mile from Mag Mile/Michigan Avenue, a quick train ride from O'hare airport ($5 per person vs an expensive Uber/Lyft) and in a safe area. Like any bigger city, you will see bums while in route to your activities, just be cautious and aware. 2. Hotel Room: The rooms were very clean, we had a corner room that had ample room for a family of 4. The walls are a little thin, we could hear kids in the early morning and also the street noise. But given it's a busy city, that's normal. Slight wear in the bathrooms but nothing major. 3. Beds: The beds were comfortable but I do have a comment about the sofa bed. Traveling with teens that are pretty ok with sofa beds, when we opt for that room type, they are usually ok and don't complain much. But this time the bed was a bit on the thinner side. I had to request the linens which I guess is the process, but when I opened the bed, the mattress was kind of warped and the mattress logo was kind of ripped off, just not the best presentation. Anyways, they were fine with the linens provided but come the second night right before bed, they said they were itchy and that it was hard to fall asleep in the sofa bed the night before. With that being said, my husband took the sofa bed and my teen twins slept with me on the king bed. Yes, this is the room type that was available when I booked but who wants to be uncomfortable - not us! So the next morning I visited the front desk and they were understanding. Mercy was very helpful in resolving my issue. 4. Breakfast: The complimentary breakfast was ample: hot breakfast items, bagels, fruit, toast, coffee, juice etc. Like any breakfast buffet, it's hectic, a little messy but nothing that was a big deal. Try to go there early to beat the crowd and find a spot to eat. 5. Employees: Very kind, courteous and helpful. Overall, this property is good for those who are not too picky and want to stay in budget. It's clean, central and it works for those who just need to sleep and have a place to stay while in Chicago.
The hotel is located in the city center, and sights are within walking distance. The hotel offers breakfast (paid separately) with bagels, omelets, fruit and coffee.
The hotel doesn't offer free parking, but parking lots are nearby.
Was close to everything in the city.
No free parking
Very clean stuff nicely front
Great location in the loop. Just a couple blocks to the river, half block to 2 bus stops and a block to the L. Nice room, never heard neighbors.
We choose the hotel base on the proximity with our Business Meeting, The Rooms where spaceous and well equiped and the Staff very super Helpful with all our needs to make better our stay.
Julian who checked us in was very kind and hospitable. The location was very good, and the space was clean. We also really appreciated the toothpaste and toothbrush because we forgot ours!
The sofa bed was not very sturdy; parts of it didn’t stay down at times.
Easy access, great amenities. Close to downtown shopping and attractions. Staff was great with some really good recommendations for local dining.
Pool was a little small, but nice, clean and the gym was excellent.
Location was great.
The view from window was awful. The adjacent building blocked any light from outside.
I really enjoyed my stay, I came in to surprise a friend and after searching for hotels this was the best one. I thought the hotel was clean and decent. The service was excellent and it was quiet. I thought the price point was reasonable too. The location was just right, near a lot of restaurants etc. My only feedback is they should renovate the showers. They're a bit dated and starting to rust in places but other than that was an amazing stay.
I was disappointed with the level of service during this stay, especially because I had a better experience on a previous visit. Before arriving, I requested an early check-in, but the front desk was not helpful or accommodating. During my stay, I also requested housekeeping and was out of the room from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., giving plenty of time for the room to be serviced. Instead, housekeeping didn't come until nearly 6:00 p.m., which was inconvenient since I had already returned. Because the room wasn't serviced while I was out, I asked if my checkout could be extended from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. as a courtesy. I was surprised to be told it would cost an additional $100, despite the inconvenience caused by the delayed housekeeping. The checkout experience was equally frustrating. I asked to split the payment between two credit cards, something the hotel had accommodated during my previous stay. Rather than simply processing the request, the front desk staff gave me a hard time and acted as though it was an unreasonable ask. They eventually agreed only after I pointed out that it had been done before, but their attitude throughout the interaction was unprofessional and unpleasant. While the property itself is nice, the lack of customer service and unwillingness to accommodate reasonable requests left a negative impression. Unfortunately, these interactions overshadowed the stay.
Its in the center of Chicago
Staffing were inconsistent, they charged a fee that shouldnt have been as I confirmed through phone call. The never provided bedding for the 5th guest.
Cleanliness
Parking was expensive
The staff are all very friendly. The room and hotel common areas are very clean! I have stayed here several times and they don’t disappoint! The breakfast has a wide variety of options and is always tasty.
Very clean room, nice staff for the most part, great view
Small pool, hot room, bedside lights didn’t work
The people working the days we were there were very accommodating and friendly. Would highly recommend staying here. Rooms weren’t to expensive for the area.
Everything
Na
Nice room and windows
It said there was parking but there was not
Very satisfied with stay
Lights wasnt working at first but later on we figured it out
Didn't have breakfast
With the amount of money we paid they should of had free breakfast and parking
This hotel is in a great location to visit the parks near the water. It is close to public transit and is in a safe location. We were happy with the accommodations. They had daily breakfast that changed day to day, and the staff was responsive to our needs. Parking was less than a block away and was clean and safe. Would stay here again!
We recently stayed here and overall had a good experience. The room and the property were very nice, and the staff deserve special mention. When we raised our concerns at the front desk, they were very understanding and apologized for the inconvenience, which we really appreciated. That said, there were a few issues worth sharing for other travelers: The in-room freezer was not working, and unfortunately some of our food spoiled as a result. This was especially difficult for us because we were storing food for our child, who has food allergies. With limited safe options for him, this made the trip much harder than it needed to be. On top of that, ice was only available on a different floor, so we had to go up and down repeatedly, which was quite inconvenient with a young child. Breakfast had very few vegetarian options, which was a letdown. A bit more variety here would go a long way for guests with dietary needs or preferences. One smaller note: the room does not get completely dark. There is always some sunlight and other light coming in, so if you are sensitive to light while sleeping, you may want to bring an eye mask or request blackout curtains. To be fair, the room itself and the rest of the stay were genuinely good, and the staff handled our concerns gracefully. With a working freezer, easier ice access, and a few more vegetarian breakfast choices, this would be an excellent place to stay, especially for families.
Not necessarily a review for the hotel, but two staff members: Ashanty at check in was new and she was OUTSTANDING. Friendly, kind, absolutely amazing! Julian helped us on our last day. He made great coffee, he was energetic to help with our luggage, very sincere and friendly! Two great employees!
Cleqn overall, good location, little cafeteria/ bar has good variety of snacks.
Pricy, No complimentary water bottles in the room, had to pay $4 per standard small bottle of purified water.
Professional staff, nice rooms, great location. It's a short walk from Union Station and has good access to the L. We will definitely be back!
Great location of this hotel. We had a cosy corner room with full length windows providing a fantastic street view from the 14th floor. Although the staff were professional and efficient upon check in, they were not particularly friendly and don't expect friendly chat from them.
Parking to high
No heat in room
Hotel does not have parking but the garage that works with the hotel was close. Also easy to get on the train from the hotel.
Bel emplacement , à moins de 15 minutes des activités principales
Le tarif est exorbitant mais hélas pas le choix dans Chicago pour bien se loger
I liked the location and how helpful staff was
No parking, pool was cold, also really expensive. Over $700 for 2 nights was a lot
Breakfast was fine, it should be complimentary with the stay.
The mattress were dirty, not the sheets the actual mattress.
The location was great, staff were super helpful and friendly!!
Room window view was overlooking a dark neighboring building.
One of my faves when I come to town
I can't say I don't like anything from this hotel
Nice hotel in good area and close to mass transit. The front desk staff were so helpful and friendly. The room was clean and roomy.
It was very friendly , clean and comfortable. Nice area as well
I got a charge on my card and I have to guess what it may be, I didn’t get a receipt.
Breakfast was really good but I had to pay for it. In the hotel website, it says that the breakfast is included and that was one of the reasons I chose the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful!!
I mentioned in my comment.
Location and cleaned
No parking
Large, comfortable room. Great location. We really enjoyed our stay as a family
Not a big issue but room had a cheap coffee machine that I never seen even in cheaper hotels. Upgrade would be great
Location great centrally for every downtown attraction and Lakefront including Soldiers Field
Not a lot
The air conditioning was not working properly
One of the staff was super nice and I love all u can eat breakfast
Well one of the things that I did not like was when it was time to eat breakfast it was a lot of crumbs in certain areas and certain tables was not clean I really wish that they paid attention to that and had somebody to make sure that everything was more clean and I wish the housekeeper had made the room smell good you know because we came he was there for a few seconds and done he didn't do a really good job of wiping certain things down but other than that no problem

Service
9.2/10Staff repeatedly praised (friendly, helpful, special mention of Lucia, staff went out of their way to provide breakfast and extra linens), indicating very strong service sentiment.
Location
9/10Location in the Loop/close to river and event venues repeatedly appreciated ('good location', 'perfect — a short walk'), though a few guests found the area busy/noisy.
Room Quality
8/10Rooms generally described as comfortable and clean, but recurring issues include uncomfortable/noisy sofa beds and occasional missing linens/towels which lower this score slightly.
Amenities
7.5/10Amenities had mixed feedback: hotel bar/food praised, but notable negatives include lack of on-site parking, no microwaves on floors, missing water bottles and occasional towel shortages.
Value for Money
6.5/10Several guests called the hotel 'expensive' or complained about extra parking costs and paying for views not delivered; value perception is notably weaker.

Overall Experience
9.4/10Overall sentiment skews positive with many strong endorsements and repeat intentions (friendly staff, good location, clean rooms), despite specific issues (parking, sofa bed, occasional service lapses).
