Breakfast was good. Usuya choice of two meals. Served between 7:30 and 9:30. It was nice to meet new people and chat about things to do. Very nice atmosphere.
Unfortunately the mattress in our room was in need of replacement. And there was an antique doll in our room I had to hide in the wardrobe. A bit too much furniture in the room, and no place to put things
Breakfast was good and sufficient amounts Location to downtown and water front was perfect Owner HELEN and grandson were helpful and informative
Not on 3rd. Floor with our age
Great location . Lovely breakfast
Lots of stairs to climb to our room. Room small, too much furniture for pokey room. No fridge in room
The attention to detail made for a great experience.
Elegant old home convenient to downtown. Friendly service/delightful host. Very nice breakfast! Appreciated ample parking!
Bed may be nearing the end of its life.
Loved the location, and the Victorian look.
The room was a little cramped with lots of furniture, drinking water, coffee not easily accesible as you need to go to the kitchen.
We couldn't have loved it more ! The people were so welcoming, and it was so great being able to meet them and also meet other travelers. We are very happy with our stay and recommend it absolutely!
Everything was just perfect. Helen and her family are skilled and expert hosts and share the beauty of their home with their guests. In this era of impersonal and rushed life, having breakfast at the beautiful Victorian set table, created an atmosfere conducive to conversation and sharing experiences and mutual suggestions about places to see and discover.
Absolutely nothing
It was pleasant experience to spend two nights at this very unique and cozy house. I would said it’s the best air B&B I have ever stayed. The English B/F was so good, Helen is an excellent cooker and surprised all the plates were hot as she explained was her family’s tradition. We glad treated as her family members. Would highly recommended.
If we could use the washing machine that will be ever better feel like home:)
I loved the rustic charm! The owner and her grandson was absolutely amazing! Friendly people who obviously love what they do! And fun stories. Very clean!
One thing I’d recommend is to communicate to each other on what’s in your food and inform who has a dietary restriction. So they don’t get sick. I loved the eggs and potatoes though! Otherwise I don’t have much to complain about.
Lovely from the outside. Good location.
Customer service was terrible. When we arrived the owner was unfriendly (we introduced ourselves and the owner if the inn didn’t bother to introduce herself!). She gave us a very brief tour of the facility and left us to our own devices. The room was cramped, dusty and off the hallway by the front door and across from where breakfast was served, starting at 6:30am! Someone rang the doorbell at 2am, twice. And, although we put out the sign to have the room serviced, it never happened and we had no clean towels. We left a message on the after hours line (after hours was after 6pm) and the owner never responded.
Very close to the historic parts of downtown Charlottetown. Parking on site. Very friendly staff. Good breakfast where you get the chance to connect with other guests. Room was clean. Lots of hidden amenities including a wonderful porch off the second floor.
Mattress on the bed was old. Felt like I was sleeping on a Victorian mattress.
Beautiful home - very clean, spacious, and convenient parking; fantastic location; staff were very friendly; breakfasts were tasty and appreciated having access to ice and filtered water.
A/C in the room didn’t work but the fan did, which was sufficient. The tv wouldn’t connect so we weren’t able to watch it. Remote batteries were low also (called but no resolution)
Helen and her grandchildren were very pleasant and great hosts. The breakfast were delicious. The location is very, good..
Nothing
It's a beautiful Victorian style home with unique decor. Felt very homely and safe. The dining hall and breakfast was quite good.
There was nothing not to like. Quite an exceptional stay away from home.
The house is beautifully vintage and yet all the amenities are totally modern. It was especially great to have a minisplit so we could control the temp in our room. The breakfast and the servers were tops!
Lots of stairs!
It was good.
Some wifi and TV issues, but they were quickly rectified.
Excellent.
Very friendly hosts that provided a pleasant atmosphere. Breakfast were delicious complete with homemade jams. Location was perfect as it was minutes away from countless bars and restaurants. We would recommend this B&B to any of our friends and family.
A wonderful hostess. A great deal of love and affection has been invested into the home by Helen. Lovely history of the house available to us. Great breakfasts and so good to feel like a REAL B and B.
Lovely classic home was just as we imagined it would be… close to downtown and walkable for dinner
Well kept and good location
Very nice heritage home. Some of the beds were dated and TV was grossly undersized - was a computer monitor.
Historic property lovingly decorated and operated by the same owner for 32 years.
It had character and was in a good location with parking.
Small room on top floor and the bed was very small and uncomfortable. It had very old two mattresses separated by a board. We kept rolling into the middle and each time one of us turned over/ got out of bed the other woke up with the noise and movement of the bed. The bed linen was navy and well used. Very pricey at £144 a night. Breakfast was pretty uninteresting and basic.
Amazing atmosphere and kind people
The house was exquisitely preserved. Everything was clean. The lady was really nice. The location was perfect, you can walk the whole Charlottetown from the hotel. Definitely would stay again!
The breakfast was phenomenal! Helen is wonderful and so are her staff. Will definitely stay here again on my travels to PEI. My daughter and I throughly enjoyed our stay!
We really enjoyed our stay. The house is beautiful, it was such a treat to stay in a historic home. Helen and her grandson were great hosts, breakfast was always enjoyable! Location was amazing! Easy to walk to shopping, restaurants and the water. Our room was great and my only complaint would be that the mattress on the sofa bed was fairly uncomfortable for my daughter, but otherwise we had no complaints!
Fantastic in all respects! Would certainly stay here again!
The Bed and Breakfast was lovey. Our first opportunity to stay at this type of establishment. It was comfortable and breakfast was nice. The staff was excellent. The area was beautiful,
Fitzroy Hall is a beautiful place to stay in Charlottetown, full of charm and elegance. Helen, the host, and her grandson are wonderful - always ready to help and make you feel welcome. The breakfasts are absolutely delicious and a highlight of the stay. The interior is stunning, with a classic and cozy atmosphere that makes you feel like you’re stepping into a piece of history. Truly a memorable experience!
Charming! This Victorian property including period furniture, crystal and china. Breakfast was made to order and delicious! Our 2 room suite had a jacuzzi! Unexpected and fabulous.
The internet was the worst we have ever experienced. We have stayed in several properties on PEI and none had this internet issue. Tv in our room fit the decor but was super small.
Wonderful antique hotel with excellent hot breakfast
Such an amazing heritage home, every room is full of stories and character. Helen is a wonderful host, treats you with the best breakfast, and will make your stay memorable. The only thing I would change is that our bed was way too soft for my liking
Great B&B. Helen us a great host and makes you feel at home as soon as you walk through the door House is decorated in keeping with the period. Room large and very comfortable. Breakfast is served around a large table giving you the chance to talk to other guests. Would highly recommend
The Inn was beautiful, staff friendly and helpful. The location was perfect.
Nothing, everything was great
Helen and Cohen were great hosts and breakfast was exceptional in the beautiful dining room!
Everything. The location was in the downtown area. The breakfasts were excellent. Helen was a wonderful and helpful host. Very friendly and welcoming. Meeting travellers for breakfast every morning was a great way to start the day. My room was very clean and the bed comfortable.
A wonderful property and experience. The host is kind and polite yet unobtrusive. The other guests were a lot of fun to chat with at breakfast each day. Only suggestions are making sure the TV is working and perhaps getting larger ones. Snacks were promised but not much was available but lots of guests so others might have taken things. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this beautiful character home.
Helen and her family were fabulous hosts and really enjoyed meeting other guests at the communal breakfast table.
Fabulous stay! Perfect location, outstanding service and delicious breakfast! It’s the perfect place to stay for a visit to Prince Edward Island.
We stayed in the Georgina Coles Brown room, it was a super cute and cozy. It was very clean, the staff were very quick at refreshing our rooms every day! The breakfast was nice and it was lovely to meet and chat with people from other places. The b&b was in a great location, short walking distance to downtown. Since its about in the middle of PEI it makes for a good homebase for driving to other areas in the day.
Wifi was not great, ended up using my data for our duration there. The lighting in the room was dark and the outlets are inconvienently placed, but not a big concern!
Helen was really nice and has so many story, the house was really pretty inside out. We’re really having a good time there ❤️
Beautiful, romantic stay at this historic and unique inn. We LOVED our room, and felt welcome to enjoy the lovely porches, decks, garden, and sitting rooms. Breakfast was always excellent and having a kitchenette near our room was great for coffee and snacks. I burst into tears as we checked out as we had been so happy at such a special place in the wonderful Charlottetown.
The central dinning table encouraged guests to interact a great way to start your day
A beautiful home and lovely owners. A great experience
Decorated so beautifully for the season, so many nice touches around the house.
Bed and floors were so squeaky we felt as though we couldn’t move around a lot. Wished we had a fridge in our room.
Helen was a wonderful host. Beautiful home, filled with charm and elegance. Delicious breakfast.
Beautiful home with lovely hosts
Fitzroy Hall was the perfect place for my aunt and I to stay during our recent trip to Charlottetown. We could walk anywhere in the downtown area! After enjoying Helen’s delicious home cooked breakfast we would venture off to explore beautiful PEI. At the end the day we looked forward to relaxing in our very lovely but comfortable room. Would definitely recommend this property.
Quant property but 2 nights in the third floor was challenging. Many stairs and only a port hole for natural light into the room with no fresh air. Bed was rickety and not comfortable as too were the pillows 😆 Breakfast limited but nice.
Lovely old building with lots of character. Nice owners. Great location.
No lift. Had to lug bags up two floor. To be expected in an old building.
Great place to stay. Friendly
House was beautiful. Service was excellent. Would definitely stay there again. Very nice people.
Helen and her family are awesome and they took care of us very nicely. Rooms are beautiful and clean. Location was great Highly recommended
The home is classic Victorian. Helen the proprietor is an Irish-Canadian with the "gift of gab". She will regale you at breakfast with her stories, which are very entertaining. The breakfast is excellent, and cooked to order.
We were on the third floor, and the July weather was very hot - 85 degrees F. We could feel the heat rising as we climbed the stairs, and it felt like a furnace when we got to our room. Fortunately, we had a portable room AC, but it could not really keep up with the heat, making it tough to sleep. Of course it's not the innkeeper's fault that it was hot, but with climate change I suggest that you book a lower floor room if visiting in the summer months.
Please note the room is capable of 2. If you book with Expedia for more than 2 ppl in the room, the hotel will charge you more than Expedia price once you checked in. I have to call Expedia to solve this technical issue.
Very clean bed and breakfast. The family is very friendly and helpful. The furniture and decorations give the feeling you are entering the 19th century. It's in downtown so you can walk to all the local attractions.
This historic house is full of charm and character. very well located and maintained. Many great encounters around the breakfast table. The owners were great to chat with, they were very welcoming.
Nothing
Our time at Fitzroy Hall was simply incredible. A genuine Bed & Breakfast experience run by the very hospitable Ducette family. Great location for walking Charlottetown and discovering local specialties. Our room was esthetically old fashioned but conveniently modern. The breakfast menu was delicious! Would highly recommend it to anyone thinking of a B&B in the area... and we have every intention of a future visit.
Location was great
Bedding needing an update.
Spent a lovely couple of nights here with our child. The house and surrounding garden are lovely, and the location is absolutely fantastic. Private parking is available to the side of the property. We stayed on the top floor which was a bit hot (the weather was unusually warm and humid during our stay). However, the room and bathroom was great - clean and well appointed with period furniture. They also had a nice side balcony that was accessible to sit on and we enjoyed it during the evenings. Breakfast was excellent. The BnB was just a short five minute walk to everything. We'd book again.
Absolutely got the character of this project, the owners and friendly. I love that it's walking distance to all the shops and restaurants
Helen is a wonderful host that is welcoming and sweet! This location is great for seeing the main shopping and walking area. Lots of restaurants nearby and 10 minutes to the waterfront. Lastly the decor is truly Victorian and the breakfast is delicious.
I really appreciate the experience at the beautiful Victorian style B&B. Decoration is really beautiful everywhere and common area was very beautiful and relaxing. Helen is making a great effort to maintain the historic Victroian-era feel of the home. We stayed at 2nd floor, a room with sitting area. We initially booked for two nights but extended four more nights because we fell in love in this beautiful B&B. I also appriciate Erin from Tourist Information who recomend this B&B. Thank you very much, Helen.
thanks Helen for a great stay- you do it right!
all was very nice- no issues at all- few minute walk to downtown
Great location, close to main area but quiet. Well maintained, comfortably furnished.
Nothing
Overall atmosphere.
I would have liked a mattress on the pull out couch/bed be more comfortable. Too thin.
We just spent five nights at Fitzroy and it was wonderful. I've never been inclined toward B & Bs but this wasn't a typical B & B - very private, had our own key to front door and room to come and go whenever we wanted. We stayed in the Alexander room on the first floor, complete with sunroom and private veranda. Helen and her staff are fantastic, always friendly and eager to please. The breakfasts that are included in the price are delicious! Highly recommend this beautiful inn!
I loved the beautiful furniture, designed to be sat on, used, and enjoyed. There was a very welcoming atmosphere, lovely sunlight. Delicious breakfasts, yum!
Great location, easy to walk into the main district and he waterfront. Private parking available. Fridge, coffee and tea always available.
Air conditioning a little noisy, but potentially to be expected when retrofitted to a heritage building.
Great downtown location and easy cycle ride to the Confederation Trail and local bike shop. Great host and good accommodations. Parking is good as well.
Quaint beautifully decorated B&B. Great location. Great breakfast. Wonderful host!
My husband and I and our three young kids absolutely loved our stay at Fitzroy Hall. Helen was lovely and hospitable, and is an excellent cook! We all looked forward to her homemade breakfasts each morning and enjoyed her stories about growing up farming in PEI. The accommodations were comfortable and clean, and staying in a historic building in Charlottetown really added to our experience. The location was excellent - close to shops, restaurants, and the waterfront. This was my husband’s first experience at a B&B and we would definitely do it again!
Absolutely everything! King room with jacuzzi tub. Bed was the most comfortable bed I have slept in in a very long time. Full of charm.
Nothing except maybe some jam for toast at breakfast
Helen was a superb host who included all guests. This meant we talked to people from all parts of the world. A very genuine experience for us.
The bed was a little uncomfortable. But the facilities in the room were fantastic.
