The location was perfect staff where really friendly would definitely stay again. Pricess for food was reasonably. Thank you.
They had no steaks at the pub haha but burgers where brilliant 👏
The room was very quiet had good sleep.shower was a bit of fun climbing into the bath but all in all wasn’t a bad experience.
Bit of a walk from room to disabled car park.
The staff, room cleanliness and the location are very good
Whilst acceptable, the hotel rooms are tired and dated and need refurbishment
Convenient for our need, value for money
Rooms dated
great breakfast ,comfy bed ,nice room , good value pub next door.
all good
The room was clean and quiet, had good facilities and a comfortable bed. The staff were very helpful and hard working. The location was exactly where I needed it to be, and the pub had a good selection of food on the menu.
Good location. Good food if you want grilled.. steak - gammon- burger etc
Rooms need a spruce.. getting very dated and worn
Great value. Lovely Staff, Very helpful. Perfect for what we needed
Rooms a little dated. But clean.
The staff very kindly cooked me some porridge in the microwave
The bed was too soft
Close to the care home of our son
Clean and comfortable value for money
The staff here are so friendly and very accommodating, they are really good at remembering return visitors, as a lone female traveller I have always felt safe, yes its a bit shabby but its clean, and has everything I need, me and a colleague have used this hotel quite a number of times, the breakfast is freshly cooked and has a good selection of cold options, if you dont want a particular item they will replace it with extra sausage, hash brown etc. The adjoining pub serves proper pub grub again freshley cooked and quick service.
Fried egg is sometimes a bit hard but if you ask for a dippy egg they will do it
Overall, my stay at the Brentwood Inn by Greene King Inns was mixed. On the positive side, the staff were friendly and welcoming when I arrived and made me feel comfortable during check-in. The location was also perfect for what I needed, which was a big plus.
Unfortunately, there were several issues with the room that affected my stay. I also wasn’t alone in experiencing problems, as other guests I spoke to during my stay mentioned having similar issues in their rooms. The shower temperature was very inconsistent. The water would go from extremely hot to cold, and even when you thought you had finally found the right temperature, you could suddenly get a rush of very hot water without warning. This made showering quite uncomfortable. The bath was also extremely small. The bed was uncomfortable, mainly because it appeared to be two single beds pushed together. You could clearly feel the join in the middle, especially when turning over during the night, which made it difficult to get a comfortable night's sleep. There was also a very strong smell of damp as soon as you entered the room, and it was particularly noticeable in the bathroom. This really affected the overall feel of the room and made it less pleasant to spend time in. Another issue was the very bright floodlight outside the window, which overlooked the bins and rear parking area. The light was extremely bright and would shine into the room at night almost like daylight, making it difficult to have the room properly dark. It may be worth considering having these lights activated by a motion sensor rather than being on constantly, so they only come on when someone is actually using that area. Also getting blackout curtains would be a bonus. The friendly staff and excellent location were definitely positives, but the problems with the shower, bed, damp smell and extremely bright lighting meant the room itself fell short of what I expected. I hope these issues can be addressed, as with some improvements the hotel could provide a much better experience for future guests.
Clean room, comfortable bed, quiet night, plentiful food and best of all cheerful, friendly and helpful people
Nothing really
Good value, good service. Cheerful and helpful staff. Food good. Easy parking.
Parts of the annex need updating, More modern fixtures and fittings required, also better lighting needed. Ok
Ok for money . Needs a little look at . Mould on shower curtains . Marks and wallpaper coming off Weird smell on stairwell No plugs near bed Get what you pay for Staff fabulous
Room needs a look at
Breakfast great, bed and little small...
Ground floor room, as I am disabled
Very clean and quite place
Nothing
The staff were friendly and kind, the room was clean a little dated but still very usable. The shower over the bath worked but can be hot and cold, and couldnt work out how to fill the bath but overall very good value for money and a comfy stay would recommend 😊
The shower over the bath, was either hot or cold and couldnt work out how to fill the bath through the taps and not the shower
The staff the location

Great
All good
Great friendly staff. Cheap and cheerful!
Staff were realy helpful.room was clean, towels changed every day, food on the pub was great, would stay again.
I rented a phone charger from in the bar,it said it was £4 per half hour,i used it for 1 hr so £8 should of been the charge but they took £25 out of my bank so be careful.
Always book this hotel if we are up that way, the staff are amazing and do everything they can to make your stay as comfy as possible, beds are comfy and clean
Nothing
The staff were very friendly we had a disabled room i accidentally pull emergency cord and three staff members came running really nice food we have booked to go back
Every thing was perfect for us
We enjoyed the location and the terrace, where we had a drink.
We stayed at this hotel twice for around three days each, over a period of 15 days. The first time, the staff were very pleasant, friendly and welcoming. The second time, it was very disappointing: they weren’t smiling, weren’t welcoming and were almost condescending. The rooms weren’t clean and bore no resemblance to the photos. The furniture was worn out, and in the bathroom we nearly scalded ourselves several times because the water got extremely hot. The bedding also needed improving. We were travelling as a family with a baby, and with the travel cot in there, it was a nightmare. It was impossible to move around the room. Really disappointing.
Es sieht überhaupt nicht so aus wie auf den Bildern. Sehr alt und unmutbar.
The location and the room
If I had a small grievance and it is small it’s that there was only 2 coffee sachets and 3 milk sachets and the socket to plug in phone/computer didn’t work (I said they were small lol)
Always stay here when visiting Family
Nothing to dislike
It is by a bar but the accommodation building is next to the bar building so there is no noise from the bar. My room was sheltered by other buildings from much of the sun, so on a day of 34 degrees my room was cool. It was easy to open the windows. A fan was in the room, and iron and ironing board. Tea and coffee is provided, two sachets of coffee and two tea bags. A few more of each would be even better. The bed is large and comfortable. The bathroom has a bath and shower combination. The water is nice and hot. The room and bathroom are spacious. The location is a leafy suburban road near small Tesco Express and about a mile from large Tesco Extra. It is near mosques and churches. Staff are efficient and friendly especially those you see in the morning when you leave.
All good.
Clean, quiet and good selection of well cooked food, excellent value for money
Nothing, it’s what I was expecting
This is our 2nd stay at Brentwood and again we enjoyed our time there. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. We would certainly not hesitate to book there again.
It's an old building with an old plumbing system which wasn't always too efficient. We would have preferred a walk-in shower rather than a shower over the bath, but we managed.
The staff and location
Rooms very outdated, beds uncomfortable, pillows flat, shower goes hot, very hot then cold straight away n again n again. Towels smelt fusty, carpets mucky. Needs a massive re furb
We have stayed here many times it’s a good location for us and for the price it’s great!!! Ok some people may think it’s needs a re ferb but it’s fine! Ok the rooms are tired but are very clean! We will always come back..
The staff were helpful.
The first room I was given (3) was the top of the building, up old, steep, narrow stairs which felt unsafe to climb. When I got in the room, on the surface it looked similar to the photos, but everything was quite worn and not particularly well kept. However, I was willing to overlook that as I was tired after a long journey. The two worst things were the stench that hit me off something I couldn't put my finger on and the heat. I went to investigate the bathroom and the showerhead did not look inviting at all. I went downstairs and spoke to the young lady on the desk who was very helpful and offered me room 10. I told her about the room, and she said it was probably hot as it was above the kitchen! I took the key for 10, went outside to a different building next door which felt like going into a community centre! After walking down a long corridor, I went into the room and it smelled of bleach, which was an improvement. However, it was on the ground floor, so I felt unsafe (being a woman on her own) and when I put the lights on, there were patches on the paintwork where something had been fixed and not painted. The very dated furnishings were faded and worn, the corners were called in dust and the shower was pretty similar to the other. I walked back to reception and gave back the key, saying I was not going to stay. There's no way I would have slept. I was offered another room, but I don't see how it would be any better. So I left and got somewhere else. I would have asked for a refund there and then, but I didn't want to put the young staff in a difficult situation and there didn't seem to be any management there. I will be in touch with the hotel and come back to update.
Welcomed by receptionist Allison who was so welcoming and we felt at home straight away
Lovely leafy area. Fabulous breakfast
Nothing
Very friendly staff and good value breakfast
Rooms are very dated and are in need of updating as is the bathroom and the breakfast room. We stayed for 9 nights and some days items were not available at breakfast
Good location, leafy road, near Tesco Extra, near Tesco Express, near mosques, churches, near Rotherham centre.Good size room, some tea and coffee in the room. Bath shower combination in bathroom. TV . Nice view from room. Quiet room. Friendly staff.
All good
I found the staff very friendly & helpful.the breakfast was very good we ate in Restaurant which was value for money
Nothing.
Everything
Everything. The room, the facilities, the location, especially the staff, they were lovely and incredibly helpful. A girl called Kelsie (not sure how you spell it) .. was literally the nicest, bubbliest person I’ve ever met and she was so helpful. Also a man with glasses wearing a checked shirt (possibly the manager?? not sure of his name) but he was also absolutely amazing and so helpful, couldn’t do enough for you. Will definitely be staying again :)
If I had to nitpick, the fan in the room could have been better, but that’s just me thinking of something random :’)
Excellent staff, they are so lovely
There was nothing I didn't like
Very friendly, good value for money .
Nothing
Super friendly staff, great meal / breakfast with a very clean / comfort & quite room and location spot as near the M!.
Nothing to add, met expectations :-)
Everything was beyond our expectations. The staff were very friendly and sent above and beyond with their service.the location was very easy to find and there was plenty of free parking. The rooms are spacious and quiet. The pub attached to the hotel was cosy, with large portions at affordable prices. It was also quick and easy to get on the motorway for our day trips out around the country side.
There are a number of wood doves (pigeons) on the grounds. My Brother-in-law really hates them, but my wife and I were not bothered at all. Seriously, that was the only negative point I can think of. If you need a place to stay in Rotherham, or near York. This is the place
Clean, comfortable and great facilities
A bit of noise about 6-7 am I guess workers
The staff were mostly cheerful and helpful. The location was convenient for my purposes. The bed was comfortable.
The room was hot and stuffy; it could be argued that an hotel in Yorkshire doesn't need air conditioning, but a mini fridge and/or an electric fan would have helped. The online booking systems used should be reliable. My trip was for a family occasion, and one member had his reservation cancelled at short notice without explanation.
Check in was easy. Beds were ok, satisfactory at best. Slept well I suppose. TV and coffee/tea facilities were good. Fan in bedroom was nice as it was a warm day/night.
Unfortunately this room was not clean and didn't look like it had been cleaned for our stay. Many hairs in bathroom, insects on ceiling and floors and in corners of room. Insects on ceiling when I arrived back to room late at night & no windows were open in between that time for this to happen. Bathroom floor was not clean. Bath was not clean & made me reluctant to use it. Carpet was tired and discoloured. Hairs on the bed. No attention to detail was given here. It wasn't worth the money. It is unacceptable for the price we paid, nearly £100 for 1 night. I have stayed in cheaper hotels for half the price with better housekeeping than what I found here. Walking to our room was sad, doors/corridors very grey & bleak. Outdated and sterile decor. Very disappointing overall. The whole accommodation is due a refurbishment & they certainly shouldn't be charging anything over £30-40 to stay overnight. Pub itself was ok, food/drinks ok, but I will not stay here ever again.
Proximity to good and drink.
No towels on arrival into the room. Dirty mugs and glasses in the sink. Difficult to flush the toilet.
The staff were very helpful and the food was good . The room was clean and had a lot of amenities
The room was at the top of the building and was too hot although a fan was provided
Clean well kept rooms .
Lovely place and people
That I had to leave
This was my first visit and I arrived quite late. The lady that greeted me wax friendly and welcoming. The bed was comfortable and the shower hot.
The decor is slightly dated and a bit ‘tired’ but perfectly adequate.
Hotel staff are friendly as always, thr breakfast is fantastic the location is ideal for us attending the Magna science centre for an event. The attached sizzling Grill is amazing for food and drinks.
There's nothing not to like for us.
Quiet, relaxed location and interesting building.
Nothing
Lots of parking, set back off the road easy to find.
Very dated, rooms were not as clean as they could be. Very basic accommodation.
Every thing was fine.
The fact we were greeted like old friends and having been before, the staff remembered us.
That I had to come home.
We live it and come back 3-4 times a year. Very convenient for our events in Rotherham. Staff super friendly and pub food decent, all at a very decent price. Free car park.
Nothing
Nice and clean pleasant staff
The staff . Really accommodating friendly and welcoming
A little too dated but I was in the annex no phone in the room or hairdryer
Didnt have breakfast but the lady on reception was a credit to green king hotels she was so welcoming and helpful and a credit to the hotel i cant remember the ladys name but she definatly deserves recognition if her name was mentioned in a reply i would remember what her name was
Comfortable beds, quiet location got a good nights sleep
Tired, could go with a refresh
Close to the care home of our son
Nothing we stay once every month
Good location for are travel ..staff very friendly.
It was clean, friendly staff. Bacon was nice, nice fluffy bath towels. Location 15 minutes walk into town centre.
Bit outdated, bathroom needs updating, could not get the bath taps to work, showered instead. Bathroom door handle coming away from fitting. Cheap and nasty sausages for breakfast, most likely frozen cheap sausages. Asked for runny egg but still came solid. Taxi driver said they are reluctant to come to the hotel as it's in a bad area. I never saw any misbehaving though.
Staff are excellent, friendly and welcoming - especially Kelsey. Nothing is too much trouble, hotel is in a good leafy area quiet too. Food great, room great very clean - kettle tea and coffee etc. Just a lovely all round stay - I'll certainly be back. Thank you all the night porter and groundsmen too.
Nothing
Location was okay as was the car park at the site, plenty of spaces.
While I knew this property would be dated and had low expectations based on price, it was just the general upkeep of the space and the "finishes" that made it look unkept and dirty. We also had to wait for around 15 minutes to check in while various members of staff kept walking by and kept saying someone would be by - it just didn't feel like the hotel/b&b is an important part of the operation.
Nice room, staff and location. Good price and nice breakfast.
Leaving
Had continental, the same bread was in the basket from the day before and had gone hard, the same goes for the pastries. (Should be fresh). They should be removed and stored correctly to keep the freshness.
Hard bread and pastries.
It was one night stay near to where we had to go the next day.
We was in the side annexe which needed updating very basic. Not worth the money we paid budget rooms.
Staff were friendly and rooms were very clean
Location was hard to find
Good location for our trip
N/A
Everything was great from start to finish thanks
The staff were super - very friendly and welcoming and couldn't do enough. The breakfast was good - ideal sized portions but coffee was poor and utensils were dirty. A bit more variety for breakfast would have been nice.
The standard of the bathrooms in the bedrooms left a lot to be desired. The shower ran from icewater to steam every few seconds, an exposed spur fuse up high was a safety risk and the overall appearance was shabby. The bathroom door was hanging off its hinges and it didn't close.
Cosy, food choices, location
no hairdryer, maybe a healthier food option (alot of fried carbs), small bed, hard to control shower heat
Good location for travel. Clean room 👌
I was happy with my stay..So no complaints
Location great for town. Great comfy bed
Where it was
No
We did not have breakfast but they provided a free coffee for each of us and were most helpful and friendly
nothing
The only thing that was good was the meal in the evening, it was reasonable.
Room was not the best, I know it’s only about getting your head down, but shower rail fell down on trying to shower, no hairdryer, was informed we needed to ask for one due to people stealing them!
Best Asset is the staff - Friendly and welcoming Everything else is what you expect from a Greene King
On check in - Advise Fan in Room, Hairdryer needs to be sourced from reception
Good for a night's stay, staff very helpful. Good cooked breakfast
Decor in need of refurbishment, looking very tired. Bed mattress lumpy - springs hard.
The staff make this property and the General Manager goes above and beyond for her guests.
The property could do with a little modernisation and a few upgrades
The staff were super nothing was to much trouble and the room was spotless
we are used to a king size bed so to was a little small next time we would get single beds
