Breakfast .... good choice but having to wait for replenishment of what was on offer was disappointing.
As above
Happy staff
Nothing
Staff where really good from the minute we got there till we left
Breakfast great. Good location. All staff without exception were extremely friendly, we were very impressed.
If I had to pull it up on anything maybe more coffee, milk and biscuits In the room. I feel sure if we'd asked we would have been provided with more.
Great location, clean and friendly staff
Nothing
Reception staff very helpful and friendly. Bedroom well equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, tv, hairdryer and iron in room. Bathrobes and slippers included in the price which was a nice touch. Nice bathroom
We were very disappointed with the breakfast. Continental buffet had very minimal choice with tea, coffee and toast making facilities not well laid out. Cooked breakfast not very nice as bacon was hard and dry with beans, egg and half a mushroom all served just warm. We were very disappointed with breakfast having read precious reviews.
Peccato!
Staff were excellent. Charlie the manager was selfless and just the kindest person
Great location and superb from desk staff Charlie
Latte coffee very weak and lukewarm
Close to all attractions yet not too busy, new decor, very clean and good atmosphere.
The location is good. The room was comfortable. The staff were all very polite and helpful.
The hotel advertises parking however doesn't mention that you have to pay £18 extra per day for the privilege. In addition, there was mould all up the wall in the shower.
Super friendly staff.
Location.
Breakfast would have been hotter. Ordered omelette which had to be returned as it was inedible.
Nicely decorated
Would of been nice to have a cosy bar area to sit have a drink
Everything from location to parking to staff to the room was perfect
Clean safe enjoyed ability to make tea and walk into town easily
Hotel car park was full
bedroom clean and generally wholesome; bathroom fine except shower constantly flooded as poor drainage. Excellent idea of nightlight next to each side of bed.
Location disappointing; too far from city centre and amenities. Hotel offered no lunch or full evening meals. Breakfasts good but service poor - one day no bread for toast; next day no plates to put Continental Breakfast on; third day scrambled egg tasteless with no salt etc. Taxi ordered by hotel took us to the wrong place and, when pointed out, just left us there - neither taxi or hotel offered to compensate us for c£10 loss. This review will not allow me to reduce the 5.0 score. I would give it no more than 2
Great central location, lovely staff. easy car parking.
Gostei de tudo. Localização, simpatia e profissionalismo da equipe, variedade do café da manhã.
A cama era um pouco alta e o estacionamento longe e caro.
Good location, walking distance from city centre and lots of good restaurants in the same road. Good breakfast with à la carte options and buffet.
Parking situation could be better, specially the loading bay which wasn’t clearly visible when I was arriving.
Location
Really didnt think it was worth the money charged. Our room quite tired bathroom sealant around floir doesnt look good, net curtains ripped and dirty, nails in wall with no pics on them. Expected more for price and stars 😔
Location is spot on, easy 5 minute walk and you’re surrounded by everything you want to see and do
Everything
The comfort and polite staff
No ledge in shower to assist with leg shaving… I strained my back
Very local to everything and the staff were so lovely and helpful
Great property! Easy walk to everything! Clean and staff was friendly
Paid parking:(
Loved the hotel decor and staff were great, breakfast wasn't great, very small choice for buffet and cooked breakfast was small and bacon nor good
Bacon.was not good, sometimes not cooked well ,very small portion
Great location for visiting York: short walks to all the main sites, and very quiet at night. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and the room was very comfortable with all we needed. I thought the daily cleaning was wonderful with much better service than I expected. Breakfast options were very good with made to order eggs and other dishes. I would stay here again.

Picked this hotel as was looking for somewhere to stay near to The Barbican, it really is, only took around 5 or 6 minutes to walk to which was brilliant. Didn't realise how central this hotel was until I stayed here, everything is in walking distance so not a need to use taxis. Didn't have breakfast but did have a meal in the restaurant, which was lovely, and really good value for money. It's situated just off the main hub so is a nice, quiet place to chill and relax. The reception and restaurant staff were so lovely. Really nice and friendly and very helpful and knowledgeable of the area. Will definitely stay here again when visiting York
There wasn't anything I didn't like
Staff friendly and congratulated us on our Anniversary with complimentary drinks and chocolate and a mirror message !!
Expensive breakfast
Staff were excellent , friendly and helpful
the pillows in teh bedroom were like rocks
What a beautiful hotel in a brilliant location. They blond lady at reception was a ray of sunshine and so helpful. Our room was much bigger than we expected and the bathroom absolutely stunning. The bath was amazing and double showers. The bed was very comfortable although on the firm side. Brilliamt location especially for foodies.
The only negative was the room wasn't very soundproof. We could hear the room next door dragging chairs around and talking loudly on the second night.
Closeness to the city
Car Park, excessive cost and being so far away from the actual hotel
Nicely decorated and maintained. Easy to park
Probably a little too far away from the actual centre but not an issue for us
Such friendly staff an amazing breakfast and comfortable stay.
I like that is walking distance to the shambles, yet it on the quieter side with many restaurants along the street. The hotel itself is very comfortable abd their staff are very friendly and helpful too. This is my second time staying in this hotel. A shoutout to Tim the bartender, you’ve made by husband and son’s day during their stay, they enjoyed talking to you.
Nothing.
Excellent location, just a short walk to all the sights and with lots of restaurants nearby. Staff were extremely kind, spacious room, comfortable bed, all worked great. Would love to stay again.
No free car park unfortunately. Car parks in central York are 18GBP per day, which is not cheap, but there is a convenient car park near the hotel.
Location
Breakfast was terrible ordered off menu both mornings and the food was awful. Eggs were not cooked the white was so watery, the bacon looked like it was out the packet and not the slightest bit crispy.
The location was good. Only a short walk to the centre of York. Also plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby.
We had a ground floor room which had not the biggest of windows therefore it was quite gloomy even with the curtains open.
Lovely hotel in an ideal location Staff where very friendly Rooms where clean and tidy and a very big comfy bed
Friendly staff, lovely room with very comfy bed , brilliant breakfast with buffet and menu choices
Very conveniently placed good clean comfortable room very helpful staff
Unable to pre book car park space
Very good breakfasts. Quiet pleasant room; staff friendly and very courteous, and helpful.
Music at breakfast mostly too loud. The hotel has outsourced the evening meal to Pasta Evangelists. The menu was very limited, the food mediocre, and music again too loud. It was basically disco music, totally inappropriate for a relaxing evening dinner. It was played continuously, and though we were almost the only diners we were told that the music could not be turned down or turned off. We did not repeat the experience.
Czysty i w super lokalizacji , fajny bar na wieczór
Nic
Really central to everything in York, with a lovely modern feel and cosy room.
The only thing I could say was that the air con unit was quite temperamental at night, and I had to turn it off and on again to stop it making a really loud buzzing noise.
Lovely hotel with in a great location and staff were lovely
Couldnt really fault anything
Perfect location. Close to the city attractions; only a short walk to the centre, yet a quiet location.
No negatives for us as a couple.
Bed was very comfy Staff where warm and friendly Breakfast was lovely
The location was perfect for us, as we were attending an event at St Margarets Church, we did walk into York centre too and it was only a 20 minute pleasant walk. It's in a quieter area, so there was no noise in an evening from passerby's. The room was beautifully decorated, the shower was amazing and everything was spotlessly clean. All the staff were lovely and friendly.
We both found the mattress very uncomfortable and didn't sleep well, but that could just be personal preference. We have a hard orthopedic at home but the mattress seemed even harder than that
Great staff helpful and friendly
The bed was to high in the accessible room
Nice looking hotel , overall interior lovely . Our bedroom was a bit disjointed - one half really nice, the other more corporate looking - I booked for our anniversary so was hoping for the whole boutiquey vibe in the bedroom which the initial pictures implied - Big bed 👍Very nice bathroom . Complimentary anniversary message on the mirror in the room, which was a nice touch . The location in relation to the walk into the centre was good , about 15 mins max
As our room overlooked the road out front, we found it to be noisy very early in the morning 😴 Having to pay £18 for parking
Ottima posizione Camera pulitissima Personale gentile e disponibile
We love this hotel and have visited 4-5 times a year for the past 3 years. It’s so clean, staff are lovely, the decor is beautiful and the breakfast is always really good too. The location is great and the parking is an added bonus.
Good location nice and clean, staff helpful & friendly well done👏🏻👏🏻 good choice at breakfast cooked breakfast could have been a bit warmer I noticed a few reviews mentioned this.
Beautifully decorated, lovely quiet location but close enough to walk easily to all the tourist spots. Staff at the front desk were extremely helpful. Breakfast had a great selection.
Nothing
Friendly staff and in a great location
Nothing to report
Well located
Not much
Central location in York city centre
I have rarely stayed anywhere with such friendly and helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble. All staff were cheerful and positive. What a great asset they are to the Hotel Indigo York. The room was comfortable, clean and had all we needed.
A couple of tiny things which are not worth mentioning especially compared to the positives.
Hood accessible room and excellent staff.
Great breakfast! Hotel with lots of character. Staff courteous and professional.
does not apply.
Smart but friendly, well designed and comfortable

设施一般,比较旧了,淋浴区堵塞,找了前台疏通。
Clean, good location
Wasn’t too impressed with breakfast, didn’t stay hot was cold before you finished.
Noisy outside our ground floor room with laundry trolley and bins.
Booked a room with a view but given ground floor.
We have just returned from a four night stay at the Indigo to celebrate my birthday. Lovely clean and comfortable room. Lots of restaurants and bars just up the street and within easy walking to all York's attractions. All the staff were super friendly and helpful. Sammi does a fantastic job. Breakfast staff were amazing. Kerry and the gentleman who had worked at Rosyth many years ago who's name I didn't get were fantastic. I am missing my very tasty cheese and ham omelette in the morning. A special mention for the brilliant and unexpected rendition of Mamma Mia from the girl at the reception 😂
A lovely warm welcome on arrival from the staff especially Sammi. The room was spotless clean, with lovely while fluffy towels . The breakfast was delicious with everything from continental to a full English & free flowing coffee tea & herbal tea
We experienced abysmal customer service and would give zero stars if possible. Based on many positive experiences at IHG properties, including 16 nights at the Indigo in Boston and Even Hotel in NYC last year, we had reserved 4 nights at the Hotel Indigo in York, UK. Both on the reservation form and in an e-mail we requested a quiet room. When we arrived to check in at 3:00 pm, first we were told that we had reserved a floating room and therefore had been given a ground floor room near the university students’ quarters; both of these are obviously not quiet. We went to the room and saw a road directly outside and heard vehicles zoom past, so we phoned the manager, Charlie, to request a change. He was clearly irritated, then claimed that we had asked for a ground floor room, which certainly is not true. He said he wasn’t able to find another room, which we suspected was a lie because we had seen at reception how much friendlier and warmer he was with people who look more like him than we do. There was no expression of regret about the supposed “unavailability” of another room, just a recommendation to contact IHG customer service. We had a lengthy text correspondence with IHG representative Ford, who initially told us to take it up with the property manager and then claimed repeatedly she/he had phoned Charlie and that Charlie was going to contact us. So we sat in the noisy ground floor room and did not touch anything so that we could move to a better room if one was found. We spent several hours there getting increasingly hungry (we had not had lunch) and needing to use the toilet but refraining from doing so, then called reception again and was told Charlie had already gone home! The following morning, after sleeping poorly due to road noise, we spoke to Charlie in person; he claimed that he had never been called by customer service. We don’t know who lied – Charlie or Ford – but based on Charlie’s unapologetic manner and stone face, we strongly suspect it was Charlie who deliberately deceived us. Ford ignored our repeated requests to speak to/ text with a supervisor, and then finally wrote that someone would contact us, but of course that never happened. We ended up staying one night and cancelled the rest of the stay. The IHG (umbrella company which includes Hotel Indigo) chat does not allow interaction with a human and sends automatic responses, so we have given up on trying to resolve this directly with them.
What a fabulous hotel! Beautifully placed to walk to all the main attractions and great restaurants along the same road. Our room was memorably 007 and on the ground floor and very quiet. Breakfast here is full of variety and includes cooked breakfast and also continental style as well as the most delicious melon and natural yogurt. The staff are very friendly, helpful and welcoming without exception and it was lovely to spend time at the bar once we stopped sight-seeing. Large room, comfy bed, great shower. Would highly recommend this hotel.
Hotel is in a great location for centre of York with some bars, cafes and restaurants close by. Hotel decor is lovely. Our room was spacious and we loved the mural of local history on the wall. Bathroom was also large with big shower. Tea/coffee facilities and toiletries included. We had breakfast in hotel and choice was good our only issue was it could have been hotter. The hotel staff are a credit to the hotel. They are professional, friendly, engaging and helpful. We will stay here again.
We stayed at this hotel last night , what can I say, simply beautiful hotel, we arrived earlier than booking in and had luggage, the kind receptionist allowed us to drop our luggage off early to allow us to venture into York centre. We booked in a few hours later where we got our room keys (room 118). The room had a large comfy bed with comfy pillows, there was a bathroom with large shower and toilet, beautiful tiling. The room was comfortable with air conditioning, great night sleep for me although husband did not sleep well as there was a constant humming coming from the floor below. Breakfast was continental style with an option of hot food. The staff were all extremely pleasant and courteous. All in a lovely stay, highly recommended
We love this Hotel chain and this one is really special. The rooms are fab, the breakfast is amazing and the bar service is brilliant. Particular mentions go to Cory on Reception and Tim in the Bar/Restaurant - you made our weekend even more memorable and showed what good customer service is along with a great sense of humour.
Breakfast met our expectations for a buffet all good
All fine
Breakfast, location, experienced staff
Personel bilgili, güler yüzlü ve yardimseverdi. Otel genel olarak temiz, rahat ve sehrin gezilecek yerlerine çok yakındı. Banyoda kucuk el havlusu olması iyiydi.
Just come back from staying at this lovely hotel. Unfortunately on the first night I had an accident in the bedroom. I have MND and slipped out of bed, cutting my head open on the side table, not the fault of the hotel at all! We rang down and the night manager was fantastic, calming me down and calling an ambulance. We came back to the hotel at lunchtime the following day after spending 10 hours in A and E. Although we had missed breakfast the lady in the front desk arranged for 2 full breakfasts to be sent to our room which was gratefully received. Unfortunately we had to cut short our stay due to my injury and the hotel refunded the second night of our stay which they didn’t need to do. All the staff were so caring. I highly recommend this hotel and we will return shortly.
The hotel location was excellent for walking around the city. Reception staff were welcoming and knowledgeable.
The shower taps were a bit confusing.
We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Indigo York. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment we checked in, always happy to help with a smile. Our room was spotlessly clean, modern, and very comfortable. The location is absolutely perfect as it is within easy walking distance of the city centre, with plenty of great pubs, restaurants, and shops right on the doorstep. We couldn't have asked for a better base to explore York and will definitely be back! Being a Diamond Elite member it’s always great to find a wee gem.
Very clean, tidy, modern. Lovely smell when you walk in and air con good. We were greeted with a big smile. Every staff member we dealt with was friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Big shout out to the girl who took us through to breakfast both mornings, blonde hair in a pony tail, she was exceptional.
Nothing.
No
The hotel was lovely ..Great location
I hadn't realised but if I had booked via the hotel with IHG loyalty card .I could of got it £90 cheaper going threw them
Location, decor and friendly staff
The price for this weekend was a lot more than we usually pay
Clean, good location, friendly staff.
Nothing, it did everything I expected.

The hotel has the rare facility of its own car park in the centre of York. It is however, a five or 10 minute walk to the hotel from the car park. It fills up very quickly, but there is also a public car park next door to it. We stayed in the hotel during a very hot few days and enjoyed the air-conditioning which worked extremely well. The staff were all very good and we found the bar had much improved since our last visit.
Paul (the night manager) was THE BEST! The hotel accommodated our family of 5 with no notice and the rooms were clean, cool with air conditioning and spacious. We loved our stay at the Indigo and will be back. Paul was so helpful and pleasant — we will never forget him!!!!
Brilliant hotel excellent rooms staff couldn't have been better
Excellent location. Lovely rooms very friendly helpful staff. Tim in the bar cannot do enough for you. Really briiliant stay
The property was well appointed & modern.

Hotel Indigo is an excellent location just outside the city centre with a car park only a few minutes walk away. This was £18 for 24 hours which we felt was reasonable. We had enquired about an early check in & arrived at 11:30am to find our room was already available. Lovely friendly welcome from Phoebe, who gave a great first impression - really stood out for us. On an exceedingly hot day the fact our room had aircon (as all rooms do here it seems) was a great bonus. Very good room indeed with generous ensuite, had a luxurious feel to it. Liked the added snacks & water in the fridge. Bed was extremely comfortable & bathroom had high end toiletries (though still attached to wall). We really liked the complimentary water dispenser with several choices of squash in the bar area - a nice touch, particularly welcome after a walk around the city in the heat. We decided to eat at the in-house restaurant (Pasta Evangelists) before our theatre visit that day, to save time & possibly a lot of wandering to decide on somewhere. The menu looked appetising as did the large phots of food in the windows. This is a separate entity I understand but housed within the hotel, just beyond the bar. Sadly this is where our experience was not so good & reduced this review to 4 stars. My husband ordered the beef lasagne & I opted for the lobster & prawn ravioli with cherry tomatoes. The waiter took our order & returned a few minutes later to say there was no lasagne. We found it unbelievable in a specialist pasta restaurant that a staple such as lasagne wasn't available - especially as it was only 5:30pm and not the back end of service. My husband went with the same ravioli as me in the end, but with garlic butter. We were disappointed when our dishes of food arrived. My portion was about adequate but was not with whole cherry tomatoes as expected but rather a basic tomato sauce that only just coated the ravioli. My husband's serving was meagre to say the least, with barely enough garlic butter to moisten the ravioli. Both of us found the pasta dry and lacking much filling. At £16 each it didn't represent good value in our opinion. Two ladies at a nearby table had what looked like tortellini & their bowls were brimming by comparison. As said earlier we account for the fact Pasta Evangelists is a separate thing to Hotel Indigo so haven't let it affect our hotel rating too much but as it was part of our overall experience we had to bring it down because of it. We did express our disappointment at check out & the young lady said she would pass this on - hoping it was just a bad day in the kitchen when we dined there. Back to Hotel Indigo itself, happy to say our breakfast experience was excellent. Really good selection, both for full English & continental options. We asked for poached eggs & these were great. Coffee was also good. Plenty of fruit, pastries & different breads on offer too. We would definitely stay at Hotel Indigo again & recommend it when visiting York, but not sure about Pasta Evangelists based on our personal experience.
Absolutely great location. Easy walking distance to all areas. Casey and Joonas at the front desk are a great team. Very attentive. Rooms come with everything needed and cleaned daily. I would definitely stay here again.
Central
Stayed here for one night in the king premium rooms. Great location and friendly staff... However, the room was very noisy. You can hear everything from the room next door. Coffee machine hadn't been cleaned. Buffet breakfast was cold, with no where to put the breakfast lids, other food had no lid to keep things fresh. No individual pots of yogurts anymore. But last time we shall be staying in this hotel.
