Merchant Hotel

The location is great! Near to many tourist attractions and eateries. convenience store also just down the street. surrounding is safe. room is great, toilet got bathtub which is great. ample parking space (this is the reason why i choose this hotel). price wise, great!

only perk is TV channel limited to 3 local channels.

The safari theme was quite nice .. my son enjoyed it. Staffs were friendly and polite.

I booked for galaxy theme, the hotel management did not inform that the galaxy themed room was under construction. Only realized after checking in, did not even mentioned at the reception. Breakfast was limited not value for money, I can even list down the menu, it was very limited choice of food, imagine they don't even have a chili sauce. Clogging at the bathroom, while showering or after using the bathtub, the bathroom clogged and was flooding, felt very uneasy. Even complaint on this but they never overcome the problem or at least provide an available room which is not clogging.

Room was very pleasant for the price and the check-in/check-out process was so easy. Location is top-tier.

Probably the pillows need some improvement.

Nach einer Nacht geflüchtet Wir haben es hier genau einen Tag ausgehalten und sind dann fluchtartig in ein neues Hotel gezogen. Eine Stornierung oder Geld zurück gab es nicht, aber das war uns der Abbruch wert. Das Gebäude war glühend heiß, die Zimmer stickig und stinkend. Die Badezimmer waren komplett versifft und alt, und der Hotelsafe war nicht mal festgeschraubt. Bloß die Finger weglassen! Sogar 1 Stern ist zuviel ,Booking sollte mal das Hotel überprüfen finde das ist ne Täuschung!!

Strategic location. A basic hotel with basic amenities. Basically you get what to paid for. Just a place to rest while roaming around Penang Island

The hot water for shower comes after a long wait.

I like this hotel as it is very near to the eateries area. Furthermore it is just walking distance for everything

Leider ist das Hotel schon sehr in die Jahre gekommen und abgewohnt, Zimmer war nicht wirklich sauber. Personal war freundlich, jedoch hätten wir eine 2. Zimmerkarte benötigt, wird aber grundsätzlich nicht ausgegeben.

Twice sent request for room 804 but no reply instead they reserved room 709 which is inconvenience to rest n sleep due to loud noise of karaoke n after checking finally given room 304 n it's noise too due to lower floor n passing of buses,bike,n cars n if they sent a mail saying no availability of room 804 n i would have cancel my bookings n look elsewhere other nearby hotels ....actually use to be regularly staying at hotel n lately avoid it but came bck again to give a try n still cannot handle minor problems n clients requirements

I like the location, very close to all the famous eateries in Georgetown. I like the guards in the parking space, they were really friendly and happy to do their job

The staff at the receptionist need to be trained better. On the second and third day of our stay in the hotel, we heard the staff arguing at the back of the receptionist area and the argument sounded violent and unnerving. I wanted to ask the receptionist for help with something, but they were busy fighting.

The staff was hospitable, and when we forgot my sister's ring, they helped us find it. The room was very spacious. The location is absolutely great!

The WiFi was slow. The bathroom didn't have towels, so we had to request them. The soap was not replaced. The lighting in the room is too dim.

The hotel is very old, dirty and not properly maintained. The walls are very dirty. The beds are not comfortable and the bed sheets are not clean enough. The carpets have holes everywhere. The rooms stink. The room lights are so dim that I cannot see anything. The staff does room service in their pjs, so unprofessional. The staff does ironing of sheets in the corridor right infront of the lift. The bathrooms have limescale everywhere. No towels provided, until we asked. The worst is that the water is unclean and smells like sewage, so we had to let it run for a few minutes until it cleared up.

Everything! The hotel is being refurbished at a very poor taste at that. The rooms reeked of paint smell that potentially could trigger asthma, the walls were moldy, carpets were old and smelled like dirty socks, the bathtub in the room creaked when I stepped on it and was covered in mold one side as well. Despite numerous complaints, the managers did not bother to fix the issues and left the poor receptionist to handle the matter. No one contacted me to apologize as well

The cleanliness of room is very bad with limited facilities. Breakfast was not good at all and only vegetarian food was offered for breakfast.

Pintu bilik air agak longgar dan sentiasa bergoyang bila ada tekanan angin masuk. Bila pintu bilik air terbuka, ia terus menghentam kuat pada dinding bathtub. Bunyi2 ni agak menganggu setiap kali ia berbunyi. Limited parking. Lain2 ok, bilik cantek dan selesa.
