Central Hotel

The room was quaint and the bed, bedding and pillows were so comfortable, more so than the one I had stayed in at an expensive Airbnb in Somerset. The staff were lovely. The view of the river was incredible and seeing all the beautiful swans swimming about warmed my heart.

Location was outstanding. Two minute walk to station. Less then ten minutes to the cathedral. Staff could not have been more hospitable.

The hotel is situated close to the city centre, near a river that runs through Norwich, pretty scenery with mature trees, grass areas, an ancient bridge and other crossing places giving access to both sides creating a pleasant place to stroll along. I had a lovely warm welcome on arrived from the duty manager. He was polite, friendly, engaging in interesting conversations whilst sorting out the necessary paperwork. The room was clean, well furnished with a really comfortable bed and a good supply of tea/coffee etc. A good choice for breakfast in a pleasant room. I would happily return and highly recommend it.

Staff, location, atmosphere

Door locks a bit strange.

It is very close to Norwich Station.

The hotel is on a major arterial road. My room was on the ground floor and faced the road. It was very, very noisy. The wooden boards are also very creaky.

Comfy bed/pillows/bedding etc. Tower fan provided in the room. Decent shower with good water pressure. Friendly, informative and polite staff. Parking permit available. Affordable pricing. Nice clean fresh towels provided and waiting for us in the room on arrival.

Nothing stood out as something I did not like, the room may be slightly small for some but it was plentiful for my own needs. Some may not like the parking permit additional cost but seemed reasonable to me.

The room and common areas were very clean and well maintained. Staff was kind and professional. Great value for money, if you’re looking for something simple but nice I would definitely recommend! Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion and towels were provided.

My room was on ground floor so there was a bit of noise from the street and people passing by in the hall.

A fabulous quaint hotel, central to everything, and right by a lovely canal.

Comfortable, nice-looking room, comfortable with good facilities. Professional and polite staff. Particularly good offering for breakfast in my view, in terms of cereals. Location very near to the train station and the river are big bonuses, plus easy access to the city centre.

The breakfast was great and well tended. We had a change in itinerary that the management helped accomodate beyond expectations. Both night shift and dayshift were very helpful and always on duty. The location really couldnt be better, being on the river, i minute from train station and as their name implies in a nice central location

Ich musste 5 £ "Bearbeitungsgebühr" zahlen, weil ich die geforderte Kaution ("damage deposit") in bar statt sls Kreditkarte hinterlegt habe. Auf meinen Einwand, dass ich diese Regelung bei Vertragsabschluss (Zahlung per Paypal) nicht kennen konnte, hat der Manager wiederholt auf die nach Vertragsabschluss zugesandte Mail verwiesen, in der die Bearbeitungsgebühr aber auch nicht erwähnt war. Nie wieder!

La comunicazione sul sito di Booking riguardo alla situazione della stanza che abbiamo scelto (con un’unica finestra.. in bagno). Dalle info fornite al momento della prenotazione non era sufficientemente chiaro. In Italia probabilmente una stanza così non rispetterebbe i requisiti minimi per l’abitabilità. La stanza al nostro arrivo era inoltre molto calda ( nel sottotetto e senza circolazione d’ aria)

I liked how clean it was and that there was a fan and an open window as it was warm.

Tis is not the hotels fault, but as with all hotels, it was noisy with people banging their doors and going to the toilet.

My room was comfortable and attractive, with a river view, an oscillating fan, its own sink, hooks, a dresser, plenty of pillows, and a padded headboard to make it comfy to sit up in bed. The entire hotel was sparkling clean. The bathroom was cleaned throughout the day; each time, they made a little point with the end of the toilet paper! I was assisted by four employees during my stay, all of them friendly and helpful. They were happy to store my luggage in a secure closet on both my arrival and departure days for no extra charge. This place is a great value for the money.

The river follows the the main road, so the river view rooms have road noise. On a Friday night, the traffic ended around midnight, but people passed by speaking--even yelling-- throughout the wee hours. Even with ear plugs, I was awakened several times. The rear-facing rooms and weeknights might be better.

Convenient overnight stay for us being close to rail station where we arrived. Very clean, nice decor, comfy bed & friendly hosts. Excellent value for short stay.

Das kleine Hotel war gut gelegen und wirkte insgesamt gepflegt. Das Zimmer war abgewohnt, vor allem das Bad, aber man versuchte mit liebevollen Details das beste daraus zu machen. Ein Ventilator hat mir super gegen die Hitzewelle geholfen Überraschend besonders für England war das Frühstück mit frischen Früchten, sehr liebevoll gemacht mit Möglichkeit zur Zusatzorder für Croissants oder Pies. Parken für ca 10 € pro Tag war auch ok, leider pro Kalender Tag.

Der Teppich war schon etwas über der Zeit. Und die Fenster? Naja, die Engländer haben es nicht so mit dichten Fenstern. Allerdings hätte man die Spinnwebe entfernen können.

Small cramped room on busy road , described on Booking.com as a superior room overlooking the river. There is a river across 4 lanes of traffic. Bathroom was dirty and smelled damp. Peeling paint on walls.

Parking charges are £8 per calendar day, not 24 hours. Windows in the bathroom didn't open which was a shame.

Staff were exceptional and hotel is in a fantastic location. Four cushty plump pillows and a nice snuggly bed. Room locks from the inside and you feel safe. Room was quiet and didn't hear much from the road.

Bit of a well ridden old pony. Needs double checking when cleaning, I had to clean someone else's blood off the wall. Bathroom needs a total refit.

My 2 colleagues and I always like to stay in this hotel when we work away from home. The staff are wonderful, friendly and welcoming. This visit we stayed in the room with 3 single beds. As it is at the top of the property we asked about the temperature of the room as the weather has been particularly hot. The lady at reception told us she was worried about that so went out a bought an air conditioner. She came upstairs to show us how to work it and offered us extra ice packs in case it wasn't cool enough. It worked a treat. Customer service is second to none. Parking is nearby so no need to go out and find it. Close to the city. Clean and lovely shower. Comfy beds and lovely decor.

There is nothing I don't like about this property

The room was clean, functional. Had a TV and tea and coffee facilities. The bathroom was small but perfectly usable. The staff were very accommodating and responding to any requests promptly. They were happy to arrange an early check in for us. The location was perfect for access to the railway station and the town centre.

We were woken up a few times by people moving around late at night or coming back to their rooms. Some guests didn't seen to be considerate of others.

Emma and James were friendly/helpful and made our stay fantastic ,us 3 girls had the attic room with 3 VERY comfortable single beds. Emma had gone to the trouble of decorating the room with balloons for our birthday stay. The continental breakfast was AMAZING!! trust me you wont get that for £10 in Norwich City. The location is perfect if you are exploring the city and literally 7mins from the train station. Would definitely highly recommend a stay.

even though there is bottles of water to purchase at reception, it would have been nice to have 1 small bottle each in the room on arrival.
