The Assembly House in central Norwich

Beautiful property close to great shopping and cathedral. Room was beautiful and so relaxing. A super comfy bed!

Only slight minus- was a warm evening so room windows were open and if people smoked outside and the smoking point the smell came in the room.

Great location and high standard or furnishing and finish in complete sympathy with the property’s and build. Also outstanding breakfast in the morning

Given how good the breakfast was its a shame it doesn’t offer evening meals

The overall ambience was extremely pleasant and comfortable. Staff were all friendly and professional.

The only minor fault would be that there was insufficient hanging space for clothing in the room. Also, that the wooden "hangers" were annoyingly attached to the rail with the metal clips. These are so fiddly! These two observations can easily be acted upon.

The room was better than most - well-designed & well-appointed bathroom - comfortable bed & linen - privacy - air con - cleanliness & organisation. Ideal as we were going to a performance in the (almost-adjacent) Theatre - we've booked for the next Theatre visit in a couple of months. (As the rooms appear to vary, it was good that we could specify the same room next time). We are in out 80s and widely travelled and have experienced a large variety of hotels.

The lack of an hotel car park. Although the overnight arrangements seem good, parking is a bit of a lucky dip if we arrive for an afternoon performance

Had a lovely stay. It is near the shops, dining places and center if the City. The only down thing is there is no lift to our third floor room for my husband with COPD.

Bed needs replacing because sags in middle and has done for last three or four years. Room needs makeup/shaving mirror with light. Parking. Include cost in room and sort out relationship with city so if guests want to leave car in car park between 11 am and 3 pm they can. You generate huge revenue for city.. use that leverage.

The bed was particularly comfortable and it was a bonus to have aircon. The shower was great and in general the room was very comfortable. The cold water in the fridge was much appreciated.

We were in two rooms. The paintwork in 214 was a little shabby and it was a shame that there wasn't a fridge in that room.

We loved our sumptuous and incredibly relaxing room. Very helpful staff, who worked around our timings, to give us the loveliest stay to celebrate my son’s graduation. A delicious breakfast too! Thank you

The position was excellent. The rooms were beautifully decorated and large. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Parking was difficult, took a while to find a space. Although we new the hotel was frequently used for weddings it was a nuisance to have an exit blocked and walk round the other way and also have to wait for a room to be opened up for guests to use.

We have stayed at the assembly house many times and the rooms are beautiful and spacious it was also a life saver with the hot weather that are room had air conditioning which was superb The food is delicious and all the staff are so friendly and accommodating definitely a 5 star

Prachtige ligging midden in het centrum. Een schitterend Georgian stijl gebouw. Vriendelijk personeel.

We kregen eerst een suite die weliswaar groot was maar waar ik met mijn 1.93 meter niet rechtop kon staan. Na daarover geklaagd te hebben kregen we een andere, mooie kamer.

It was a beautiful building which had been imaginatively converted into a hotel .The room we had (Room 16) was extremely comfortable with good facilities . Although it was up two flights of steep stairs & the building would not allow for a lift , the staff took all our( heavy) luggage up to the room on arrival without been asked & brought them back down on check out ! The staff were professional, courteous & nothing was too much trouble .

Although it was May , the weather was unseasonally cold & the room took along time to warm up , despite an additional stand alone heater. The breakfast staff , whilst very pleasant were more than a little disorganised.

Hotel is in a fabulous location, very clean & spacious.

Leaving earrings behind, contacting hotel within 30 minutes of leaving room explaining exactly where I had left them, to be told that they were not there, I was very surprised to say the least!

Stunning room (room 2), fantastic location and staff very helpful.

The staff were friendly and professional nothing seemed too much trouble. All rooms.were kept to a high standard when they visited daily. All good was of a high and varied standard. Well our bathroom was a dream come true, large airy and there was both bath and wet room an unusual to find in hotels. We will be back as we had such a great hotel break.

Wonderful place to stay for a special occasion - the staff were kind, professional and friendly. The building is magnificent and our room was large and comfortable, with the added bonus of our own private patio. Breakfast was delicious and they even provided a birthday brownie for my partner without being asked, which made him feel really special.

Despite being an accessible room, the bath was very inaccessible, with no grab handles. It was strange that blue badge holders still need to pay £10 for parking, given that much of Norwich offers free blue badge parking. There was a dimmer switch for the main lights, but it just caused them to strobe.

The room was nice and prime location.

As with most hotels, could hear people in other rooms and someone walking about upstairs back and forth?

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay in a large comfortable room in the centre of Norwich and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

I would have liked bath robes to be available and a couple of chairs to sit at the table to eat - there is plenty of room. We ordered a Indian take away to eat in the room in the evening and I ended up sitting on the floor not wanting to sit with it on my lap on the sofa or bed in case I made a mess. We were planning to have breakfast in the room but the lack of chairs to sit at the table was the reason we decided against this. The breakfast was very pleasant in the breakfast room.

The hotel is gorgeous. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The staff were professional, very welcoming. The breakfast was delicious with incredible choice, local produce used, nothing too much effort for staff. My husband uses a walking aid and access was no pproblem, well thought out. The whole place is curated and historic. It felt very luxurious and the location right in town is perfect. A wonderful break.

I have stayed here before and it's my hotel of choice when I visit Norwich. The room (room 2) was beautiful, the bed gloriously comfortable, the location great and the staff lovely. Breakfast is superb. I love the historic ambience.

It should have been easier to contact reception when I couldn't turn up the heating.

Sumptuous luxury with individual interior design. Great location, excellent food.

Gorgeous, but some areas needed a little attention. The flooring in room 16 was a bit worn and stained, similarly on the stairs leading to the room. Some of the skirtings needed cleaning or re-painting.

The breakfast was cooked to order 😋 🙌 no buffet type breakfast here ! The peanut butter granola bars were absolutely delicious. Hotel was extremely clean and the bed was like I slept on a cloud all night. Staff were the best 👌 an absolute credit to the hotel.

Loved the building, all very grand. Super dining room for breakfast.

Parking was OK but I went to the public car park initially, just passed the front of the hotel, then checked with reception and was given clear instructions for the parking space around the back, included with the booking. All went well.

We had a quiet room and the room was of a high standard

Busy time of year with multiple functions meant a lot of drunken noisy guests getting taxis just below our room (no 6) for an hour from 11pm. Worse on Saturday night. Really inconsiderate. It would have been right outside ground floor room 1's window so I suggest avoiding booking room 1 and 6 during the festive period. Perhaps staff could remind people leaving that there are people trying to sleep as it's a hotel as well as a venue?

1) Having to pay an overnight parking charge of £10 2) Private functions being held resulting in very large party noise outside our room window after midnight therefore kept awake until the early hours

Everything about the Assembly House is wonderful! The welcome from the staff on Reception, the room, the food and the location are all superb. We were able to park in the car park without any difficulty and the central location meant we could walk round the city with ease. The Christmas decorations were beautiful and our stay was topped by the excellent afternoon tea.

Everything was perfect! Such a great location, beautiful place to stay in the centre of Norwich. Rooms were amazing, very comfortable. Food, staff and all the surroundings.

There were stairs to our room that were a little tricky, but otherwise nothing to complain about.

Booked Festive Afternoon tea it was absolutely amazing either way such attention to detail. The room was stunning, such lovely decor Room 16 Would definitely stay again and the breakfast options were exceptional. Thank you for a lovely stay, Casey really welcomed us like family.
