De kamer was schoon

De locatie, muffige gangen en kamer, het restaurant. De airco werkte niet. Personeel was uiterst vriendelijk en behulpzaam maar kon niks uitrichten. We hebben een deel van ons geld terug gekregen. Het diner in het restaurant. Tip: ga voor a la carte. De carving is ronduit smakeloos.

Hotel in good location not far from M5. Room clean, comfortable and suitable for someone with less mobility. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food good but a little expensive. Surprisingly quiet considering next to a busy road.

Not suitable for anyone with a wheelchair or mobility vehicle. Bedrooms are in one block (disability rooms are across the length of the car park, then across a small road then the disability access is around the other side of the building housing bar etc. The pavement is uneven then the final ramp is steep!) The staff were always ready to help.

The rooms that we had were excellent, the breakfast choices were very nicely laid out, the restaurant menu was also very good and the portions very generous. I would not hesitate to stay here again when we are in the area.

The closeness to the main road with the roundabout made it quite noisy but as the overall location was so good it is a minor thing. The staff were all excellent with the unfortunate exception of 1 of the waitresses who was obviously workshy|

Smelly rooms, dated decor, shocking carpets, house keeping obviously need a lesson in cleaning as It was well below par! The stale smell Of men’s urine in the toilet was overwhelming, the shower pressure was a joke , the damp smell In the Main room was difficult to escape. Even when the Nice lady in reception sprayed room spray to Lighten the stench! The bed has obviously seen some action in its time as it now sags in the Middle of the bed and is most uncomfortable! Definitely not worth the money! Please don’t book here if you’d like a nice room for the night! Brekkie average! Just don’t bother…..

It was close to the venue of my nephews wedding. The staff were lovely.

The size of the bed and room, it felt claustrophobic. Bathroom was a good size though.

According to your website all your dog room are on the ground floor that’s why we booked as we were there in July for 2 nights and wanted to stay an extra night and was told by Katie there was only room upstairs and was not allowed for dogs the inconvenience of having to take a dog down stairs to the toilet and we observed a couple book in which had no dog staying in ground floor for dogs and spoke to another couple they weren’t happy as the same was done to them and the whole time we were there the room wasn’t cleaned no towel changed or top up of tea or coffee or toilet paper had to purchase our own very bad from the first time we stayed will not be going again

Our air conditioning did not work in the room, we went out and they said they would fix the issue. The issue was not fixed so we had an uncomfortable stay.

This is our second time staying here. Really love this hotel. The rooms are spotlessly clean. Staff are great. Perfect location for our intended visit.

I was there for a wedding. The location and venue were perfect, the room was incredibly clean and had everything we needed. The staff were amazing, super friendly and helpful, the food was really tasty. It’s hard to fault it.

There isn’t anything I didn’t like. If I had to find a fault I was say the drinks were on the expensive side

Non of the staff perticually friendly or helpful booked 6pm meal arrived at 5 to 6 to be told we are waiting for the staff to come 🙈 no one explained how breakfast worked no acknowledgement as we were leaving

I love the fact that you can drive right up to your own room patio. Easy to unload. The rooms are spacious and clean. Great location for the motorway and the city. Staff are friendly and helpful

Lovely friendly welcome at reception. Very good service at dinner. Dinner was well presented generous and tasty.

Excellent place to stop over

The hotel bar and restaurant were lovely, although a lot of the bar area was reserved for meal reservations.

The room was tiny and a bit grubby. It opened onto the carpark with a glass door that anyone could look through. The noise from upstairs and each side was loud,like the room was made of cardboard.

The picture of the Devon Hotel (accommodation) is not as above as this is the restaurant- so misleading. The actual hotel is much older. Very noisy guests leaving the venue / going to the Hotel at 1:30am Require more electric car chargers

Location, room clean, just what you need for an overnight to break your journey. Pity you can’t rely upon any customer service restaurant.

Restaurant facilities found wanting. Inedible fish and chips returned. Waitress evidently told the kitchen, nothing came back by way of an apology or an offer of alternative. Had to ask for the meal to be removed from the bill.

I liked the character of Carriages. Two very enjoyable and comfortable evenings at the bar. Food and staff excellent. Good availability of inside and outside seating, especially in this hot weather. Parking on site an added bonus.

The hotel ( although more of a motel ) had air conditioned rooms which was very welcome. I asked if the room had a super king bed and was told it didn’t. It did actually have a super king bed so I’m surprised the receptionist didn’t know that.

The room was small and the wardrobe in a very awkward place. The bathroom was also very small and a little bit dirty but not too bad. The food in the evening was mediocre although the plates were hot which made a nice change. The breakfast was poor.

Friendly staff

The staff were excellent and attended to my needs above and beyond. The bathroom was lovely, and the bed was so comfortable , the size of the room and storage brilliant.

There were a few hairs on the bathroom floor, the wardrobe had a funny smell, the front of the air con had something on it which I wiped, the kettle has seen better days, needs descaling. Didn't really like the location of the room, but that's just me.

Air conditioning - what a relief in the heat. Friendly helpful staff. Great dining options throughout the day. Rooms on ground floor - so appreciated as a 70 year old with sore knee.

A bit further from town centre than I usually go but worth it for air conditioning and no stairs, and great food on site.

It was a stopover to Cornwall in an excellent location. The breakfast was very good, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable.

The shower was lovely but the bathroom was tiny!

We like the location. Close to the route we use from the ferry. Easy to get to the city and to family who live nearby. Bedding, towels are good and the bed comfy. The room at the back was quiet and even though it was hot, the aircon made it bearable. Nice breakfast, friendly staff. Good parking.

The bathroom was a bit shabby and grubby. In need of a refurb and not really up to standard for the price of the room. Kettle needed descaling. We stayed two nights, but only given two biscuits and four teabags. Not enough hooks for dressing gowns, towels etc

The staff were very helpful on the phone after service, as once I had checked out and got home i discovered I had left so of my clothes in the room they were very helpful in getting it sent back to me ASAP via 1st class post, many thanks for that greatly appreciated

The outside was lovely, lots of parking, nice to sit outside the restaurant/bar on a sunny day. Aircon in the room was great.

Bathroom hadn’t been cleaned, rooms are very very small with very limited facilities and amenities. Not worth the price.

Stairs leading up to the bedroom from the bathroom, quite steep, not ideal in the middle of the night.

Unfortunately a faulty patio door lock meant being moved to another room and then back to the original room the following morning. A credit for this inconvenience would have been nice.

Spotlessly clean. Very comfy bed. Good shower and room facilities.

The air conditioning wasn’t cold enough really considering it was 34 degrees outside. We couldn’t turn it down anymore and there are no fans. I would of liked the air conditioning to get colder.

From booking in at reception all of the staff at the hotel were extremely polite, helpful, attentive and kind. The room was clean and tidy and had everything that we needed for our stay. The food was wonderful from breakfast through to dinner. We will definitely return to this hotel.

The food at the adjoining pub stopped serving as we arrived in the afternoon. After a 5 hour drive that was disappointing. Also the bathroom was v small. 2 people could not be in it at the same time!

Friendly and helpful staff room was fantastic and well equipped food was fantastic and bar staff and waitress very helpful and friendly wonderful atmosphere throughout will definitely be visiting again

Vorgarten und Restaurantausstattung sind sehr ansprechend. Das Servicepersonal im Restaurant war sehr gut. An der Rezeption war sehr hilfsbereit. Mit dem Taxi ist man in 10 Minuten in der Innenstadt.

Beim Frühstücksangebot gibt es noch Luft nach oben, das gleiche gilt für das Frühstückspersonal. Die Stufen zum Zimmer mit Koffer sind eine kleine Herausforderung.

Bathroom had a lot of mold in the shower, room 117. Noise from room above, I complained to reception and they checked and said they could not hear anything. It went on most of the evening and started again at 6:30am. Other residents parked outside our patio doors and left engine running. So I could not sit outside or leave doors open for fresh air. A bus tour was booked in which meant we could not get a table in the restaurant as the whole restaurant was booked out. This was very disappointing as two evenings out of four we could not eat in the restaurant.

Attached pub was nice.

Ground floor rooms were very small and very hot.

Locatie was aan een wat drukkere weg. Op de fiets naar Exeter centrum was goed te doen (6km).

We liked the location as we could pick up a cycle track close by. Plenty of parking and what food we did have in the restaurant was good. Some of the staff were friendly.

We knew this already but it is next to a very busy roundabout with a lot of boy racers around at night. Our room was quite small and it was a connecting room which I didn’t like. The bathroom was minute. It all worked perfectly but you could not dry yourself in the bathroom when you got out of the shower. There were steps up into the room which you had to come down during the night if you wished to use the bathroom. The lights in these stairs made it quite light in the room but we daren’t switch them off as we were not sure of the steps.
