Struttura in ottima posizione, curata e molto pulita. Ottima colazione alla carta e grande attenzione a eventuali esigenze alimentari. Camera comoda e spaziosa, dotata di ogni confort. Letto comodo. Personale gentile e molto disponibile (anche se non tutti parlano inglese). Assolutamente consigliato!

Ci è dispiaciuto che la nostra camera non avesse finestre e che si sentissero molti rumori esterni, ma assolutamente non dipendenti dalla struttura (abbiamo soggiornato in alcuni giorni di festa e si sentivano fuochi d'artificio in piena notte).

Les 2 suites deluxe étaient sans fenêtres : c'est oppressant. Donc évitez les 2 suites deluxe, celles qui sont juste à l'entrée à côté du restaurant. Peut-être que les autres chambres sont mieux (avec fenêtres?) je ne sais pas... Dans chacune des 2 suites deluxe, les lits étaient uniquement au 1er étage (avec SDB et WC au RDC) Franchement décevant vu le prix élevé. Emplacement central mais bruyant le soir, les restos sont trop proches.. Petit dej booking : choix limité (ex : café ou thé : le capuccino est en supplément!!). Surprenant pour un hôtel de ce standing..

Es una casa preciosa en el centro de San Cristóbal de las Casas, la ubicación es inmejorable y el servicio fantástico. Te sientes como en tu propia casa.

The hotel decor is very inviting from the entrance to the traditional communal courtyard (patio) filled with flowers and a thriving herb garden. We had a delicious breakfast there every day. Our room (and bed) was very comfortable with its own little private courtyard. We loved that the hotel is in the heart of the historic center and yet is very calm and quiet. Staff were helpful, arranging transfer from the airport and helping with an overnight tour to Palenque for us, as well as storing our luggage.

Sometimes communication was complicated as not all the staff could speak English and our Spanish is rudimentary - but we were able to make it work with Google Translate and goodwill on both sides. Shout out to José (manager on reception) and to our chatty breakfast waiter for their kindness.

A truly exceptional stay at Casa Lum Hotel in San Cristóbal de las Casas. I rate this hotel with five stars across the board. From the moment I arrived, the hospitality was outstanding. The front desk staff welcomed me warmly and made me feel comfortable immediately. Throughout my entire stay, every employee I encountered was respectful, attentive, cheerful, and genuinely kind. The hotel itself is spectacular. The interior design is incredibly cozy, with a perfect balance between rustic and contemporary style that fits beautifully with the boutique luxury experience they offer. The green areas are peaceful and inviting — ideal for sitting quietly and enjoying the atmosphere. My room was beautifully designed and extremely comfortable. The mattress was of excellent quality, the towels and bathrobes were thick and luxurious, and the shower pressure was almost like a hydro massage — absolutely amazing after a long day walking around San Cristóbal. One detail that truly stood out was the evening turndown service. Every night during my three-night stay, housekeeping would leave a plate of delicious meringues in the room. Small touches like that make a huge difference and show the level of care this hotel provides. I did not personally dine at the restaurant, but I heard excellent comments about both the restaurant and the bar, which are apparently award-winning. What also impressed me was the hotel’s curated collection of regional artisan pieces. After searching all over San Cristóbal for quality pottery, I ultimately found the best pieces inside the hotel itself. They even invoiced everything properly and packaged the items carefully for travel. The location is unbeatable. Casa Lum sits right in the heart of San Cristóbal de las Casas. The moment you step outside, you are surrounded by amazing restaurants, cafés, bars, boutiques, and the best atmosphere in town. Both the daytime energy and nightlife in this area are incredible, and nearly everything is within walking distance. I also appreciated the hotel’s ecological philosophy and thoughtful sustainable details. For example, the writing paper provided in the room was recycled, and the pencil included a capsule filled with chia seeds so guests can plant it later — something I will absolutely do back home in Cabo San Lucas. As someone who works in luxury hospitality as a photographer for high-end hotels and brands, I am used to identifying flaws and operational inconsistencies very quickly. I can honestly say Casa Lum feels remarkably balanced in every aspect. It is elegant without trying too hard, comfortable without sacrificing design, and luxurious while remaining warm and authentic. Another important detail for me was the in-room safe, which allowed me to securely store my professional photography equipment and feel completely at ease during my stay. The entire property is extremely photogenic and incredibly Instagram-worthy. Everything feels beautiful, intentional, and well cared for. I will absolutely recommend Casa Lum to friends, and the next time I return to San Cristóbal de las Casas, I will definitely stay here again. An exceptional boutique hotel experience.

Our stay at Casa Lum was almost perfect. We loved the central location, the beautiful architectural style, and the high standard of cleanliness throughout the hotel. It is a very comfortable and aesthetically pleasing place to stay in San Cristobal. However, the included breakfast was a disappointment. It is a basic continental meal consisting of weak coffee, a small portion of fruit, and stale toast. There were no eggs included and no option for fresh bread, which was unexpected given the price of the stay. The restaurant clearly has the potential to deliver high quality, so it was surprising to be served such a mediocre breakfast for three mornings. We still highly recommend the hotel for its beauty and comfort, but we hope they upgrade their breakfast offering to match the rest of the experience.

It is a beautiful hotel with a garden inside and my server was Brother Joe Luis who did an incredible job serving me and recommending me a delicious breakfast. I recommend anyone in San Cristobal to come to this cute restaurant and hotel, you will not be disappointed!

It's located right on the walking street in the center of town, and quiet at night. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good. They don't use any plastic throwaways.

"An exciting experience—it’s just like being at home! The receptionists on every shift provided excellent service, always available to support us with a great attitude. A special mention goes to the young lady on the morning shift; she was incredibly kind and attentive. Truly excellent customer service! The place is cozy, magical, and has a wonderful family atmosphere; the room we were assigned made our stay even more pleasant. We didn’t want to leave, and my partner enjoyed it immensely. Another highlight of this hotel is its location; being so close to the city center makes it an excellent choice if you are looking for somewhere cozy yet central. We will certainly return and recommend it to our fellow travelers, as it is impossible not to share our wonderful stay at Casa Lum. I'm so lucky to have chosen this hotel! The location is amazingly convenient to museums, restaurants galore, and El Centro. It's on a pedestrian only street so people-watching is a constant treat, watching couples, travelers, kids...the show never ends. The staff are available constantly but are not intrusive. In fact, they couldn't be friendlier. The rooms are comfortable and I had the only upstairs room with a pretty balcony. The breakfasts are yummy with many options, and the coffees are excellent! Terrific hotel.

Beaucoup de soins ont été apporté à la décoration intérieure avec une chambre très bien équipée et une literie exceptionnelle. Le personnel a été au petit soin tout le séjour... Unfortunately, we are not satisfied with our stay here. We have had a very poor service experience, as the staff have shown an unfriendly attitude and, in general, have not demonstrated any real interest in assisting us properly. Yesterday, we asked for a glass of water instead of coffee, but were told that this was not possible. In addition, there was no water in our room yesterday, and we were unable to get the underfloor heating to work. According to the information published on Booking.com, the hotel is classified as a 4-star property and is advertised as offering an excellent breakfast. However, we find this information misleading. The breakfast images shown on Booking.com do not reflect what is actually included in the price, as the products shown in the photos come at an additional cost. The breakfast that is served consists of extremely dry bread and does not match the images on Booking.com at all. Furthermore, there is no staff member at the hotel who speaks English, which makes communication considerably more difficult. The image of today’s breakfast was just an example. However, our experience relates more to the overall level of service, with which we are very, very disappointed—for example, the fact that it is not possible to get a glass of water instead of coffee, and that the quality of the food is so low. We expect some form of compensation that demonstrates that you are better than this.

We had a great time staying at the beautiful boutique Casa Lum located on the finest street in the center of San Cristobal. Walking distance in the same street we found so many great restaurants. The hotel staff also booked all our local tours and were very helpful with anything we needed. Our room had a beautiful private garden and we felt safe and comfortable. Thank you for making our stay memorable.

The hotel has flawless aesthetics. incredibly tastefully decorated. The room was cleaned daily, and the staff was friendly. Every morning's breakfast was delicious, and the restaurant was excellent.

The room was missing essentials like basic toiletries and hair dryer. The one I was given was very old and missing parts that ended up burning my hair. The staff at the front desk was cordial, but unattentive. They kept mostly to their phones. We stayed in a room that was split between two floors. The only TV available was upstairs which was inaccessible to my elderly mother who could not climb the stairs. The upstairs room was very dark even with the lamps and had no place to store clothes or hang them.

The Issues: Room Condition: The room is completely unacceptable for this price range. At 1:30pm, with all lights on, the room remains dark with virtually no natural light. The linoleum flooring is badly damaged and buckling at the bathroom entrance. In the shower, tiles are loose and visibly dirty - a basic maintenance failure that raises hygiene concerns. To add insult to injury, my room was located directly next to the cleaners’ quarters - I was woken at 6:20am by staff noise, and only managed to get back to sleep until 8am thanks to my own earplugs. They clearly also don’t know how to design a room, who would put the TV to the side of the bed? Not that I would spend much time watching TV in such a room. Service: I contacted the hotel well in advance to request early check-in upon my 8:30am arrival, offering to pay an additional fee if necessary. Rather than clearly communicating their policy or availability (such as confirming they were fully booked until 2pm), they simply said they would “let me know when the room is ready.” This vague response was so unreliable that I felt compelled to book another hotel for a few hours just to have somewhere to rest after my overnight bus journey. When I arrived at noon, the receptionist had no record of my WhatsApp communication request. Available rooms were clearly listed on the same booking platform I used, yet no effort was made to accommodate an early check-in despite my advance request and offer to pay extra. When she eventually contacted me via WhatsApp, it was to ask me to write a TripAdvisor review - not to inform me my room was ready. I had to ask her if it was ready, and was told it was not. I finally gained access at 1:30pm - the standard check-in time.

When I finished my meagre meal, a box was put in front of me. I was told that the value of this breakfast was 1000 Mexican pesos, so they expected a commensurate tip. Value: For nearly £100 per night, one expects pristine accommodation and professional service. Casa Lum delivers neither. There are numerous better-value, better-maintained hotels in San Cristóbal. Recommendation: Unless significant improvements are made to both the property and service standards, I cannot recommend Casa Lum to fellow travelers.

Sehr zentrale Lage in der Fußgängerzone mit unzähligen Läden, Cafés und Restaurants, auch wenn das Casa Lum selbst ein hervorragendes und gemütliches Restaurant bietet. Die Zimmer sind riesig und äußerst stil- und liebevoll mit vielen Details mit Kunsthandwerk der indigenen Künstler aus dem Umland ausgestattet. Auf ökologische Aspekte wird viel Wert gelegt und dies auch konsequent umgesetzt! Die Kommunikation über WhatsApp hat uns jeder Zeit mit hilfreichen Informationen versorgt, aber auch der Service vor Ort war herzlich und kompetent.

Auch wenn das amerikanische inkludierte Frühstück gut war, würden wir das nächste Mal das Zimmer ohne Frühstücksoption buchen und dann à la cart im Hotel essen, um die große Auswahl nutzen zu können. Schön wäre auch ein Refill des Kaffees beim frühstücken gewesen, denn jeden weiteren (einfachen) Kaffee muss man zusätzlich kaufen. Da es im Zimmer keine Möglichkeit der Tee und Kaffeezubereitung gab, fanden wir das etwas sparsam.

Casa Lum is a beautiful boutique hotel, with friendly staff, excellent breakfast, little garden, and cosy room. And on top, the location is great. In the calle guadelupe, with a lot of bars and restaurants in the neighbourhood, in the middle of the historic centre. The fact they offered a parking spot 2 min away was a big plus.

If I need to be picky, the bed wasn't great.

The hotel itself is nice. The rooms are not the biggest, but they are nicely decorated and fairly new.

The staff is really poorly trained and not equipped to solve any issues that arise. We had the room next to the cleaning supplies, which means we were woken up each day by the cleaning ladies chatting and banging things around. Additionally there was a vegetable garden, so also gardeners were pouring water, banging things etc. we kindly asked if we could be left to sleep until 9, multiple times with no result. We asked to change room, were told absolutely and then told the room was not available. We asked to move hotels and they would not refund us because we had not come at checkout time (under the premise that another room was being made available). Everything was tainted by not being able to sleep, never being apologized to.

The location is the best it’s exactly at the centre, you have many restaurants and store’s around. It’s super safe and near everything. The staff is friendly and the breakfast is delicious. The rooms are clean and comfortable they clean them every day.

The breakfast was delicious. It is an "American" breakfast, meaning eggs, frijoles, pan, delicious butter and jam, fruit or juice and coffee (no free refills).

I did not like the lack of direct sunlight in the room. Besides my french doors to the enclosed terrace, there was no light. This was something I did not know in advance.

We really enjoyed staying at Casa Lum. It is in an excellent location right on one of the main “andadores” in San Cristobal. The hotel was clean, quiet and the staff were really friendly. They have a small terrace where you can see the sunrise or sunset of the city. The food in the restaurant was good, also if you want more variety there are many restaurants right outside the hotel. Shops, coffee shops, ATM and more places just 5-10 minutes walk away. You can walk to the some of the main places to visit like the Centro Historico, Churches, Mercadito de Los Dulces, Mercadito de Artesanias and more! We are planning to come back again.

Casa Lum is simply amazing. We had Ariel help us out during our stay, from any hotel needs to walking us and guiding us to our vehicle. Having coffee outside your door every morning was the best! Definitely going back!

Our trip to and in Mexico. We wanted to see ‘day of the dead’ so we took some days in Oaxaca and continued to San Cristobal. This city has a very fantastic hotel ‘casa lum’ From an outside look, it is like a fairytale, vey nice looking. Inside you see a beautiful view of architecture. Very interesting😊 People who is employed are very friendly and helpful, always with a smile and a hand to help. Talking about the food, we can only recommend to eat here. Beautiful small hotel in the Center of it all, with great decorations. My wife and I celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary and I asked for cheesecakes and mimosas upon arrival in our room and they provided a basket of flowers (flowers courtesy of the hotel) which was a great touch. The restaurant was great and with selected inclusive breakfast.

Thought we were getting queen size beds but were full size beds, we're taller but it was doable, some broken tile in the shower and a slight stingy smell in the room. They won't replace your towels unless you ask.

I was most taken by the interior design, tastefully and innovatively incorporating local textile crafts in its decorative scheme. This is an exceptionally beautiful little hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful with our arrangements. Super useful to have an English speaker among them!

The hotel & the room were very nicely designed - it made you just feel a part of the culture of the region. Plus the hotel is really well located (on one of the main roads of the city, and the main block is just a 7/10 minute walk away).

I think the staff could have been better with adjusting with English speaking customers & a bit more politer. Further, our room was on the group and right in front of it there was a dinner + DJ that went on till 9.30/10 which was not appreciated.

Staff is super kind but not actívely helpful. Examples: on my day 1 I asked if they knew where a couple of museums were located. They said they didn’t laughed and didn’t offer further help. On day 2 I had booked an excursión with the hotel through WhatsApp starting at 8 am. Reception called me at my room 40 min before that saying my excursion had arrived. I recalled the recepcionist of the scheduled time, he asked a minute, must have verified that info was through but did not come back to me with clear info of next steps, I had to make my decision and talk directly to the driver of that excursión. Breakfast is very limited and THEY CHARGE YOU EXTRA EVEN FOR S SECOND CUP OF BLACK COFFEE (besides a portion of scrambled egos with ONE MORE EGG). So greedy.
