It was a nice stay, not too fancy but I liked it and the breakfast was great as well. The hotel doesn’t have the wow factor but was worth the stay.

It was clean and tidy, the staff were very good and the breakfast was great. Property maybe a bit dated but that is how it is.

The location was good. The bed was comfortable and breakfast was lovely. The receptionist was really lovely she couldn't do enough.

The toilet was not clean and the receptionist had to clean it. The tv needed replacing as it was very old and made strange noises.

The room was pretty warm but when I opened the window, I could hear cars on the street. When other people came late, you could hear them — no sound proofing. It was good value for Newcastle but paying so much for a single bed in a tiny room is mad.

No lift to upper floors. Wash basin was in bedroom not bathroom. It kept making loud plumbing noises.

Excellent staff especially the lady who did reception and breakfast during the week. She was very professional and competent and a very nice person

The evening concierge was very helpful in showing me a parking space at the back of the hotel and made me few welcome which after a 320 mile drive was a nice touch. The room was perfect and very clean and unusually for a hotel I even managed to get a good sleep.the bathroom was also immaculate and the shower was lovely

If I had to pick something I’d note the sink in the bathroom was a little small to shave in because the mixer tap took up quite a bit of space. I have to come back to Newcastle next month and will definitely stay here again and recommend to colleagues

With drinkers sitting outside at night it can be very noisy with windows open in the bedroos (even with the windows closed one night 🥴).

the staff were perfect at both the reception and the breakfast. the price was great and the location, while not central, is an easy walk (or metro trip) away from the centre and in a nice, quiet area.

TV didn’t work throughout the stay, nor the internet either. A fan should have been supplied in room. Breakfast was a fiasco- one lady on her own, clearly new to the role

Location in terms of closeness to the city etc was excellent, and price was affordable. Room itself had everything required for a one night stay for an independent traveller requiring a single room. Although I didn’t stay for breakfast, there was a ‘grab and go’ option of a hot sandwich or continental, which may be of interest to other guests. The receptionist who welcomed me was lovely.

The noise! The uk was experiencing high temperatures, so the windows were already wide open when I arrived, which I was grateful for as I wouldn’t expect air conditioning for the price. However, the single room was directly above reception, and everyone the staff left the building out the back door, my room physically shook. The noise from other guests in the adjoining rooms felt like they were coming into my room, and the toilet cistern was running all night. I had a midweek stay, and the refuse collection lorry arrived to the industrial units at the back of the hotel at 5.30/6am and one of the units also started playing loud dance music at 7.15am, so I had very little sleep, irrelevant of how comfy the bed was. In the morning, when I went to check out at 9.30am I was going to mention all this to the reception, but there was no one to talk to and a note asking just to leave our keys on the desk. Hence why I gave a lower score for staff. I have stayed here previously, but in a double room at the front of the hotel in the autumn months, and had not had these issues, hence why I rebooked. Unfortunately, next time I visit the city, I will pay more and stay elsewhere.

Breakfast staff - on day 1 very helpful while on day 2 less so. Breakfast food was fine although on both days we had to repeatedly ask for more butter. On day 2 the cooked breakfast took 30 mins to arrive even though the place was not busy and we had booked a time slot. The ensuite did not have a loo brush and the soap holder in the shower cubicle was broken. As a married couple we booked a double/twin but got a twin which could not be used a double. The receptionist told us this was because we came through Booking.com. I had the impression that the tired, small rooms were reserved for Booking.com reservations.

The lady that checked us in was incredibly helpful, friendly and welcoming. As was the lady who checked us out! It made a great start to the trip. The rooms were amazing for the price, very clean and well decorated. Felt comfortable and slept well.

The only two things that we felt could be better was the breakfast was pretty basic, but for the price it was fair. The final and most unusual thing we didn't like was their fire safety policy where you are required to leave your room key at reception if you are heading off site so the staff know you are not in your room in the event of an evacuation. This seems unsafe for our belongings left in the room, an understandable policy but somewhat unusual.

I booked this hotel to accommodate my parents, who had come to visit me. Right from the start, I had to let them know that my parents don’t speak English, but the staff were so kind that we never had any communication problems at all!! The hotel is quiet, clean and has everything you need… and, above all, the staff are incredibly kind. The location is absolutely brilliant, the full English breakfast served at your table is superb, and the staff are so friendly and helpful.

Nice hotel, lovely reception and breakfast area. The location was fantastic; close to Jesmond Metro and so convenient for my daughter’s uni house in West Jesmond.

It's a good location for when I visit family rooms clean stayed here twice now.

Comfortable beds

The staff were great the rooms were comfortable and clean and the brekkie was good. It was good value. The location is great. The staff went the extra mile and could not have been any warmer or friendlier. They are what I will remember about the place.

The fake plants, and generally the decor was not to my taste. The fake plants are dusty and faded and make the place look less clean than it is. It would be better to have no plants at all than these. And the signs everywhere saying “reuse your towels” and “we won’t service your room unless you ask us” and “wash your hands regularly” felt a bit unwelcoming.

Close to Newcastle city. Walking distance approx 15 minutes. There is a metro station which is approx 5 minutes walk and 2 stops away. Bus stop out the front if you want to use the buses. Room was a good size and staff super friendly. Breakfast was good, but not buffet style, it's all freshly cooked to order. Lots of places to eat/drink around the hotel. Great stay. Thanks team.

It was a little noisy due to being on a fairly busy road, but not a major issue. Being an older property, there's a bit of creaking, but it does add to the ambience of the place.

Fantastic location and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

There was an excessive amount of noise in and around the hotel - inside there were loud guests and the walls are very thin so you hear everyone. Outside and on the street there were screaming seagulls, an arrest happening, a megaphone guiding a running race and industrial bins being emptied.

Excellent room with bay window and additional seating area making the room quite spacious, the ensuite is a little cramped but adequate enough and recently redone. Osborne Road is quite a main road but not too noisy at all. The breakfast is table service not buffet and is excellent with a good choice on the menu and all the staff were really helpful , personable and friendly at all times. There is limited parking at the rear of the hotel but there are permits available for use on all the nearby streets which makes parking free subject to a £20 refundable charge for the permit and the area appears quite reasonable with much of it being a mix of private and student accommodation. There is a bus stop outside and 2 Metro stations within a five minute walk. Day passes to travel on the Metro are available for £7 which gives you unlimited travel around the network for a full day and well worth it. Its about a 15 minute walk into the City centre from the hotel.

Excellent value for money. Freshly cooked breakfasts with locally sourced ingredients. The lady ( owner or manager) was fantastic out front. Welcoming and helpful. Nice walk into town or handy for Metro.

Lovely run hotel with the sweetest staff, who were helpful and attentive. The breakfast was very good and a 24hr bar is always a treat!! Close to the Metro and to downtown.

Very friendly staff with old fashioned courtesies. My single bedroom was very comfortable and clean and I particularly liked its proximity to a small Waitrose which provided a good meal when I needed something simple and an early night. There were restaurants nearby had I wanted that option.

The Osborne staff are wonderful they are so helpful and friendly nothing is too much trouble for them. Excellent accomodation the rooms are lovely and the Florence restaurant is perfect. Everything at the Osborne Hotel is highly recommended.

Jesmond Tandoori kebab shop - terrible. Sent a chicken kebab with no chicken and full of potato. I suspect relying on folks being too drunk to tell the difference ;-)

My favourite hotel in Newcastle

Ein echter Glücksgriff: Tolle Lage, super ruhig, dicke Wände ,hübscher Ausblick; ich hatte 4 Tage ein großzügig und praktisch geschnittenes Einzelzimmer mit genügend Platz und Steckdosen. Alles sehr sauber. Morgens gibt es ein fantastisches Frühstück und das Personal ist aussergewöhnlich nett und hilfsbereit, ich komme sehr gerne wieder!

Bei einem Aufenthalt 2 Wochen zuvor hatte ich einen grossen Stadtplan von Newcastle von OS Explorer an die Wand gehängt und in der Eile der Abreise dort vergessen. Als ich 2 Wochen später wieder kam und danach fragte (Ich hatte eine Mail deshalb geschrieben, die aber nicht angekommen war) hatte die Putzfrau den mir wertvollen Plan im Müll entsorgt.
