The food was delicious. The best so far for me.

The carpeted floor in the fully air conditioned room with no window opening could cause health issues for those who suffer from asthma for a long hotel stay. A short stay should be fine. An option for a non carpeted floor room would be better.

I stayed here last week and left with disappointment. I arrived at the hotel at 2.30AM due to the rescheduling of my flight. I was assisted by a cold, non communicative staff. He did his job efficiently though, but no more than that. No explanation of anything, no recognition of my Platinum status, no Platinum member perks and upgrade, not even mentioning the place and time of breakfast. I did not bother to ask since I arrived exhausted. I was allocated a room in the 12th floor. The same floor as the Executive Lounge, which the staff did not mention of course. The carpet from the elevator to the room had uneven surface, I never had this before. The room smelt bad, old and stinky. The bed was fairly good but the linen felt not fresh. The towel smelt weird too. The breakfast was pretty varied with good selection of Indonesian and Western selections. I came across an annoyed guest because there were delays in replenishing the food. During breakfast, at 09.34AM I received a notification that my booking was cancelled because the system checked me in the day after even though I have fully paid for the stay during the check in process. I brought this to the attention of the available reception staff. This issue was fixed after I followed it up to the property. Overall, a disappointing stay.

Novotel Makassar is the perfect place for a vacation especially with family.. our kids are very happy.. liburannya sampai diperpanjang hihi, lokasi strategis. various breakfast. their service also the best..

The shower towel is clean but the colour turn grey not white anymore

so i book on 7th floor, and it was great. Kamarnya bersih, sarapannya enak, kolam bersih, it must be 5 stars hotel i think.

Novotel as we known is one of the Accor hotel.. international brand.. but i visit Makassar and stayed at Novotel makassar.. this hotel really amazing. Stepping through the lobby. I was immediately struck by the beautiful and friendly reception team. I remember she has dimple and she really humble.. ms. Raka i guess.. the staff throughout the hotel were very professional, friendly and helpful.especially her.. they always greeting and smiling to us Light, airy and very spacious, very welcoming atmosphere. Breakfast was amazing. Location of the hotel is great. The room was very spacious and well equipped with all essentials and fantastic view. I have no hestitationin recommending this hotel to tbe tourists who want to go to Makassar. Will be back to this place soon

One of the best hotel in town.. everything was so perfect, tasty food.. strategic location.. Room was very clean .. the view from my room was really cool, even better in the night .. big pillows, i prefer soft one.. overall i had a fantastic stay in here also their staff is really friendly .. i’ll be back and of course will be stay in Novotel

A very splendid stay! We’ve had a great time as a family with 2 toddlers. The room was spacious and the pool is kids friendly. Would definitely be back. Very suitable for children since it has playground and kids pool that can be accessed anytime

The room was cozy, also breakfast very taste... Keep it please... Bravo.. In this hotel you will be able to stay comfortable... Beside, the locations waa strategic near some market, and Losari beach, also the Ford Rotterdam. Hope you enjoy the hotel

Terrible service at the front desk, seems like they don't really care about what you say or do not want to engage much. Question about the lounge on the 12th floor was ask and the front desk staff did not want to answer and ask us to go upstair to find out on our own .

Good pool.

Bad experience with my room. Dirty sheets, stained with hair. Toilet with traces of urine. Housekeeping team intervened but the smell of urine remained after cleaning. No hot water: just lukewarm. Wifi not fast. Waiting at the front desk and staff who didn't seem to realise the above points.

Location is great at downtown city of Makassar.

Room is quite old and found some ants running on the table. Staff is attentive, and face to face interaction is preferable. bathroom could be better.. spotted some moulds on the curtain and corners. maintenance of the hotel room should be improved.

I have booked a room from 5 to 12 June 2023 in Novotel Makassar on booking.com. On the credit card, they charged me 265.08 euros for the stay, and then, two days later, they stole 345.60 euros. We have repeatedly contacted the Novotel in Makassar, which keeps on ignoring us. We have also repeatedly written to the Customer Service and the Help Centre in booking.com, sending the requested documents, and we also were completely ignored. DO NOT GO IN THIS HOTEL, THEY STEAL MONEY FROM YOUR CREDIT CARD AND THEN IGNORE YOU!!!

Some of the interiors were starting to show its age and there were ants when I initially checked in.

The crews were warm and friendly. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The viewing from our room was nice as well. All was nice!

The locker can’t be used so we had to put our values into the luggage and locked it.

The room cleaner was not honest! My husband bought 2 cartoon of cigarettes at Duty free shop, KLIA. When we were arrive at our home then he realized he missing 6 packs of cigarettes which are we put each cartoon of cigarettes in 2 different bags. He/she took 3 packs from each cartoon and it shows that the hotel's cleaner open our bags with intention. Luckily we didn't leave any valuable things inside the room. For those who want to stay here Pls make sure u use a pad lock to lock your bag before u leave the room.

It is a good hotel in the downtown area with reasonable buffet breakfast. Nice room, fancy bathroom,

when we visited the morning breakfast restaurant, most of the fodd was already gone. Later they provided new supply, but we were already on our way (to the airport). I think the food should be freely available during the whole breakfast period. We also was for a massage. Noting the opening hours of the wellness section (from 10am) we asked at the reception if it was possible to have massag earlier (we asked at about 8am) and was told to come back by 9am, when they told it was not possible. A bit befor 10 am we tried again for a half an hour massage (which was on their price/offer list) - as we had no more time - but were told that they only had hour long massages. Most of the staff did not speak English.

First of all, my overall impression is pretty good and I will probably come back. The location is very central, the staff was really nice and polite, the rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good and there was a lot of choice (Indonesian, continental, etc.). Anecdotally, there were four different jamus (a traditional Indonesian drink that you should try). There was no plastic bottle in the bedroom but a refillable glass bottle and a water dispenser at every floor. Much better for the thirsty ones and greener.

Check-in took a very long time because there was only one employee when I arrived around 7pm and a queue of customers. At the reception, the employee also told me that there were only smoking rooms left and when I refused categorically, he/she immediately gave me a non-smoking room... There were a few issues in the room which were fixed later by the staff: the safe was not reset so couldn't be used, the bed lights were not working, and my food order never reached my room (I had it at the restaurant eventually). Eventually, these little things do not change my good overall impression but they could be easily improved.

The hotel has a nice swimming pool and walking distance from good restaurants. Personnel also very friendly. Good place to stay for a few nights!

Our room smelled a bit "dusty" but besides that the room was more than fine.

honestly, i dont expect this service from novotel, i dont really enjoy this place... some people got welcome drink but my family didnt get it... receptionist didnt smile at all, i dont know if she is tired or whatever. she ask me to stay until 2 pm to enter the room, and i was waiting until 2.10 pm but she didnt call me at all to enter the room until i decide to ask her about my room... i dont get a great service at all

Stay was good only protocol of covid should be made better

We just had one night here after a stay in Toraja before a flight out. Walking distance to the fort and lots of food options around. The room was lovely and comfortable. Staff were always friendly and helpful. Breakfast had a huge variety and we were super impressed! Less than half an hour to the airport too.

Very poor room condition. Hotel hardly 2 years old (), aircond didn't work in room, had to change room. Twice, the room before and the room changed to, don't provide hand towels... both needed to ask.. Novotel new standard? Had dinner at its casual outlet.. very poor standard and not value for money. (Competitor Aryaduta has better offerings... if they can.. why can't Novotel Makassar..)

I stayed at Novotel Makassar Grand Shayla for 10 days. The staff were very accommodating and willing to help with my concerns. The hotel is also located close to restaurants and convenience stores. Breakfast was also very good but they could probably do with a little more variety as the same food was served everyday.

Check-in was painless, room was clean and comparable to another Novotel hotels. Dinner buffet is preffereable to limited menu Some minor maintenance required; 2/3 of a closet door hinges were unattached, the temperature control kept blinking"Err" , so no clue what it was trying to set.

The hotel is new but has some problems when it comes to the quality of the construction. Loose sockets, torn pillowcase and also a loose door handle(bathroom door). The service was also bad, when I checked in, only one person in the front desk and I had to call her to get her to notice me. Everything that is supposed to be a standard in a hotel, I had to personally call the housekeeping for toothbrush set and extra slippers. The food also needs a lot of improvement in taste. The location is okay.

Best thing about this hotel is that it's fairly new. Service is well-intended, but can come up short. Worst is wifi connection. Logging in to devices seem so easy, but in reality, a hassle. Front Desk often mix up last name and first name on the registration, making wifi login confusing. After a few stays here, I still could not figure out their wifi login system. Even after finally connected, speed is slow.

Overall the room is comfortable. Had a good night sleep. Wonderful bed but the pillow sheets had some stains. No shampoo. Found an unclip safety pin on the floor and and a hair clip. Did they vacuum the floor ?

Nice hotel and facilities. Only thing is that rooms are average sizes.
