As always, the staff was super friendly and helpful! We were able to leave our bags safely at the desk and tour Windsor a few hours before checking in. And the pub is always great fun with great food.

Ein wirklich gemütliches typisches englisches Pub - wie man sich es vorstellt. Die Zimmer sind klein aber fein der Aufgang zu den Zimmern geht über enge steile Treppen. Die Zimmer bieten alles was man braucht inklusive einer kleinen Möglichkeit für Tee und Kaffee. Wenn man nach einem gemütlichen Abend direkt im Pub schlafen kann, was gibt es schöneres.

No staff, the fire alarm went from 6 am to 10am non stop, and no one to contact. A little desk was in the description and wasn't in the room. Have to quit the in by the backdoor, not a fan. No breakfast

Great location with 24 hour access after check-in. Very nice and helpful staff. Dog friendly. The food in the pub below was good and they have a lovely garden in the back. Very nice regular customers. My room was clean and they provided a fan. Surprisingly quiet, good night sleep!

You can't drop off bags prior to check-in, or even get inside as there is no front of the house staff available until the pub opens at noon. My single room was on the top floor with narrow, steep stairs. Not a lot of space to lay open a suitcase.

The staff was great. We could leave our luggages after checking out. The food was also good and the location is very convenient, 600m from the castle.

The room was extreemly hot and only half of the window could be open. The room was small for 3 people. The bathroom was tiny and had no hanger for showering towels.

A great position with a comfortable bed after busy days of exploring the area. A quirky unique building with pleasant helpful staff who helped us out by storing our luggage before and after our stay.

The room was very warm, we had a fan which helped but we were at the rear over the beer garden so if we wanted ventilation we had to put up with people talking loud and the bin men early morning. Expected toiletries to include shampoo and conditioner not just shower gel.

The shower was problematic. Once we had understood how to gauge the temperature it was okay but the door had to be opened onwards otherwise the shower would have flooded the bathroom

We chose this hotel for its location and price (near to the river and our moored boat) It fulfilled both those requirements, although the room itself was a bit rough and ready and super - hot (this was after the hottest day of the year 34°+, so not complaining as we knew there was no aircon) At least it was cooling off by 2am (when we got back to the room)

No towels - forgot to supply any towels for the room. At least it was so hot that a towel was barely needed.

De kamer was wat klein en sober en het bed wat zacht, maar geen echt probleem.

No AC and the upper window of our room was painted shut, so hot air couldn't escape. Fans helped, but that window would've made a huge difference in the high temps during our stay.

Fabulous location, great staff and extremely helpful in carrying luggage up and down. Due to illness I didn't get to try the food but it smelt delicious.

Two sets of spiral staircases were a challenge. Windows can't be opened for fresh air and only a small fan. Was extremely hot in the heatwave conditions. If you have no mobility issues it is fine. Having a small fridge would be expected and would be a great addition.

Je pensais passer mon séjour dans le pub, voir les matches, y manger,y boire....et bien non! Mauvaise surprise ; ils n'acceptent pas les espèces. Aussi les chambres sont minuscules, ils faisait hyper chaud, et les fenêtres ne s'ouvrent pas vraiment. La rue est très bruyante, j'ai très mal dormi. Grosse déception.

Compact room on second floor overlooking Eton High Street was just the job for a solo weekend visit to the town. Right near the river and 5 minutes walk to the castle. Room had everything you needed plus good strong shower. Room got very hot during the heat wave, but there is a fan, and I took the advice of previous guests - brought ear plugs and eye mask - and slept very well with the fan on and windows and curtains wide open. Pub has beer ‘garden’ and sells good basic pub grub - friendly staff. For breakfast, Costa across the road, or the Cote by the river for a posher alternative. Budgens five minutes away

For some, the steep stairs up to the rooms could be a problem.

In the heatwave our sash window wouldn’t stay open & had to use hangers to hold it up , warm water in cans , no fridge in the room ,nothing was cleaned during our stay just the bin emptied . Bed not made & no clean towels . Bed was really uncomfortable , drinks very expensive , staff were basically none existent & didn’t make us feel welcome . Very noisy with people out on the street until 4am .

I like the staff and the location. The bed was comfortable and it was clean. awesome location, I was unlucky it was a serious heatwave. my room was very very hot - cooled down a bit at night but there was no real breeze. I suggest bringing an eye mask, if you want the windows open it's very bright with the street lights. Lots of great breakfast and coffee places as well and lunch and dinner nearby (walking distance).

The window was broken and it was very hot so I had to jam it open with a towel to get any air. Nothing to do with The George, but the garbage truck came at 7am both Sat and Sunday mornings, directly under my window with very loud sound of crashing breaking glass. Just wish I had been pre-warned.

Breakfast wasn’t available but it was possible to have dinner later in the day, as there was a handy pub and beer garden downstairs. Good choice of beers too and a lively atmosphere. Staff were very friendly.

I was under the impression when booking the accommodation, that both of the double rooms had a view over Windsor Castle. This is why we didn’t book 2 single rooms. I had a great view, being the corner window above the main pub entrance. The only other room with the same view I believe, would be the room directly above mine. My friend disappointingly had a street view, which I imagine is the view from most rooms. So perhaps phone to confirm, if the view is your priority. Also has very steep stairs, which could be an issue for some. Didn’t adversely affect us though.

Room was very warm. Fan needed to be near the window. Shower kept dripping and towel rail was very hot contributing further to the heat in the room.

My room was in the upper floor, in extreme hot temperatures the room was a bit too hot, a fan was available which definitely helped, not a problem of the hotel, but just so you are aware if you visit in hot weather no aircon is available

We had the family rooms above the pub. It was spacious and comfortable. The pub was very busy but this wasn't an issue and we didn't notice any noise. Location was perfect for what we needed it for. There was no parking at the hotel but there is a car park 3 minutes walk from the hotel.

Nice pub, great room with plenty of room, and clean and comfy

Beautiful room with a view of the castle. The reception lady (sorry did not take her name) was exceptional and even took us to our room rather than just giving us directions. We didn't eat there but had a couple of drinks with friends and it is lovely that they use local breweries and suppliers. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely pub based in Eton by the bridge, we booked 2 rooms for an event at Windsor Castle that we were attending. Rooms were comfortable, towels and nice toiletries provided, all at a good price and location point for us, staff were friendly & informative.

Single room didn’t have anywhere to hang garments really so either a rail or hooks would be useful.

It had the feel of a B&B. Steep narrow stairs, old carpet in the hallways, tired paintwork, lights on in the hall all night. Perhaps I was unlucky, but my bed was soaking wet when I got in it owing to a drip from the ceiling. Staff helpfully put me in another room. Stuffy room, so opened the windows, anticipating a quiet night. Then disturbed at length in the early hours by several local 'revellers' eating kebabs and shouting/grunting at each other outside my window after a night out (it was a Saturday night... there must be a club nearby). At 7.30am on the Sunday morning a council glass recycling collection took place directly outside, which lasted about 20 minutes and destroyed any possibility of a lie in. The mattress seemed to dip on one side, which made me feel as if I was about to fall out of bed. Bathroom was cramped. The shower mixer seemed jammed and so the only option was to wash with water that was rather on the hot side (for me). Bathroom extractor fan seemed to go on forever after turning off the bathroom light, making it tricky to get to sleep. All in all, far short of what I was expecting for £90.

I have stayed at this location 10+ times. Given that I don't live in the UK that says something. The location, rooms and the pub are all super. I would suggest booking a meal ahead of time. Walking distance to all attractions.

That was a nice stay in the old historic inn settled in the wonderful location of river and park area and a 5 min walk from the Castle. The room was clean, warm and equipped with kettle, tea, coffe, water cans, fan, a big wardrobe, hairdryer and other bathroom stuff. The room is spacious and well lighted. The beds were very comfy. We arrived 3 hours earlier, and they let us be in the room without any charge. Very good impressions.

I left a very expensive hermes scarf in my bedroom and a magnifying mirror and it was very difficult to get any information about where my scarf went I know for a fact I left it on the bed because I’d put it around my eyes to sleep that night They say they have the magnifying mirror, but they have not got the scarf I am very upset

I enjoyed my stay. The location was excellent for the castle where I was singing in the chapel for the weekend. The bed was comfortable and I didn't find it noisy as other reviewers have complained about. It is in the heart of things so a bit of noise is to be expected. I enjoyed the fizzy water that was provided - that was a nice touch.

The shower was very weak until towards the end of the time I was using it, when it suddenly got more powerful. I suspect that the water pressure isn't high enough to support many of the showers in the rooms being used at once. The shower also needed the hose replacing.

I came to Windsor for an event my booking was for single room, which was really very small room, and wanted a mirror and board for iroinging my outfit the manager nicely offered a double room instead. The bed is comfy, th the tea and coffee was additional bonus, the location is Fab, everything just round your corner, I go to bed early but the noise from the resturant wasn't really annoying, everything was just as I needed. The hotel is small cozy and just what you need for business trip adults for holidays.

Need extra lights sources specially for ppl who prefer privacy over daylight.

Nice room above a cozy pub with great local beers on tap! Perfect location, super close to Windsor Castle and both train stations. The room was clean but showed some minor signs of wear and tear. As it's located above a pub some noice in the evening hours can be expected. There was a quick-working electric heater. Free water and tea provided in the room. Check-in was quick. Staff was very friendly. Leaving my luggage after check-out was no issue.

The room could use a nightstand lamp.
