Provider-sourced guest reviews.
i came at my check in time, 4 pm, and the room wasn’t ready until 5 pm. ridiculous. they told us there was nothing they could do and offered zero help. the check out time is 11 am so they had well over 5 hours to clean the room knowing guests were checking in at 5. they also gifted the couple in front of us a gift bag, and didn’t offer one to us, honestly felt like they were doing it on purpose since we mentioned the room not being ready. guest service wasn’t helpful, they told us they had 82 other rooms to clean when we mentioned that ours wasn’t clean yet, the manager didn’t help either. honestly i wouldn’t recommend room isn’t that clean, especially after they had 6 hours to clean it. Joe was spectacular though, i’ve never met someone as kind as him.
Very good breakfast, but overly expensive, compared to local restaurants; room was quiet, but unfortunately with no view
AC fan was either full blast or off, bathroom was too cramped
First let's talk about the hotel... lovely, quaint hotel with lots of seating areas downstairs and outside. Free parking...closest parking for handicap, electric charging vehicles and diamond elite patrons. There is a valet there when you pull up to the hotel but we did not utilize his service. There were also bicycles stored there that can be rented from the hotel. At check in we were given one free drink coupon per person per night for their nightly happy hour (5-6pm). Happy hour provides a selection of wine and one type of beer (pretty sure it was an IPA)...and i did see apple juice boxes as well. The 'light refreshments' is freshly popped popcorn. Happy hour is well attended so come early if you'd like to get a nice spot to sit. We were told coffee and tea were available all day in the lobby but we only saw it available during the restaurant's breakfast hours. They had some great cold brew and i was able to add a few pumps of hazelnut/caramel/vanilla flavors. The limited availability may have been related to the restaurant's limited hours on the days we were there. Newspaper is provided each morning. They get a few copies of the Wall St Journal in the lobby and it's first come first serve. First morning we were too late...second morning we were better prepared and got to the lobby earlier! Rooms - small but nice. I was on the second floor and overlooked the wedding lawn. My room had 2 queen beds, a chair, a tiny round table next to the chair, a set of drawers, TV, a nightstand, an armoir for hanging clothes, and a small fridge with a very small freezer. Room provided a robe, a yoga mat, an iron, a flashlight, and a luggage rack. I had thought the hotel provided a dog bed and dog bowls but that was not the case. Dogs - no fee for the dog to stay at the hotel; there were probably 5 other dogs at the hotel the same time as us;. I had to sign a waiver that the dog would behave, not sit on the furniture and if the dog disturbed guests during quiet hours and I couldn't be reached...there would be a $250 fee. The dog was allowed everywhere in the hotel except inside the restaurant (fine for him to be in the outside part of the restaurant) and the pool area. I did not venture to the gym. Waste bags were available around the property. In the lobby was a water bowl, a 'stick' library, and one dog bed. The town was the most dog friendly town I've ever seen. My dog went into every store with me (outlets, Vermont Teddy Bear Co/Flannel Co). Every restaurant we chose had outdoor seating and the dog was allowed to join us outside. After check out, we drove over to Stratton Mountain Resort (1/2 hr) and rode the gondola up the mountain ($29/person)...and the dog went with us up the mountain! The Edit by Chase - I utilized my Chase Sapphire Reserve card, Edit credit and platinum elite status. We received $60 off at breakfast for two mornings. There were three of us, but the front desk simply gets the final bill and removes $60 each day. We utilized our $100 property credit for dinner at the restaurant. We did not enjoy our meal here at all but at least it was almost free. Lastly i want to comment on the 'guaranteed 4pm checkout (if available).' I asked upon arrival for late checkout and they told me to check back on checkout day. 7am on checkout day, i texted the front desk about late checkout but did not receive a response. I went down to the desk and was offered 1pm checkout (which is short of what should be offered for platinum elite status (2pm) or Edit (4pm). The 1pm checkout actually worked out fine for us so I didn't argue but just want to point out this data point to others expecting Edit perks. Planned this last minute getaway...Wed - Fri at the end of June. Learned we were in a bit of a shoulder season and it seemed as if things were going to pick up in town the following week. Due to the shoulder season, we found that some places had varying hours. Hotel provided us with 2 free tickets to Hildene upon request. There were 3 people in our room and we were able to get 3 free tickets. It was a nice place to visit...but dogs are not allowed. There were free golf carts w drivers provided throughout the property to take you from one site to the next (main house, train car, farm, etc). We were there for nearly 4 hours. Within walking distance was a pub restaurant (mulligans), a fancy restaurant (silver fork), the fly fishing museum, and orvis / orvis fly fishing school (free!).
It's a modern building done up to look like a traditional inn, with wraparound porch and library--sitting area. Good for a getaway if you don't demand much, as some corner-cutting is evident. Standard amenities such as a coffee maker are missing, and shops and the restaurant may be shuttered. Beware the resort fee. It's hidden in menus when you book online and doesn't show until you've given your credit card and clicked to book. When I complained, I was informed that it covered use of the pool (closed during our late-June visit) use of photocopy machine, and shopping coupons, as well as a few items that might actually be desirable, such as use of bikes.
Pre booked as a part of a New England road trip. No restaurant on either of the days here. Don’t open midweek - not busy enough to bother! No bar either. Ist night bought our own wine to drink around the fire pit. 2nd night no fire pit. Enquired why and was told only the chef has access to the propane! But he wasn’t here so…?? Hotel very nice but facilities zero stars and disappointing given the cost of staying here plus the $40 amenity charge!!! Research other options before you stay here.
Great hotel in Manchester! A little outside of town but in walking distance to town center and lots of restaurants. Modern, clean. Tons of comfortable seating areas, both indoors and outdoors. Big wraparound porch with couches and chairs. Outstanding coffee bar with iced and regular coffee, plant-based milks, flavored syrups. Nice staff. EV charging. Pool. Great value - we paid $150 on Priceline.
Celeste made our trip 100 times better, we couldn’t have asked for a friendlier, more kind and informative person to answer all our questions and help guide us on what activities we should do in Manchester for the day. We love her and we love the Taconic!!!!
It has a great vibe. Very relaxed and sociable in a stylish setting. Nice!
We liked everything.
I booked the Kimpton Taconic Hotel through the Chase Travel Edit Hotel Program, which requires prepaying the stay in exchange for guaranteed benefits, including a guaranteed 4:00 pm late checkout. The hotel refused to honor the guaranteed late checkout. At check‑in, I was handed a paper outlining my benefits that stated checkout was “upon availability,” which directly contradicts what is published on Chase Travel. Chase Travel clearly states “Guaranteed 4 pm late checkout” and does not mention availability at booking, at check‑in, or anywhere on the Chase Travel site. I had to call Chase Travel, and Chase then had to call the hotel directly to correct what felt like a bait‑and‑switch situation. It got worse after checkout. Despite having already prepaid through Chase, I was later hit with two additional charges for room and tax directly from the hotel. When I contacted the hotel, they claimed they had “not received any payment.” After calling Chase again, I was told the hotel failed to charge Chase’s virtual credit card within the required time window, and instead charged me again. Bottom line: Guaranteed Chase Travel Edit benefits were not honored The front desk was unaware of, or unwilling to recognize, a premium program booking I was double charged due to the hotel’s internal billing failure I am still having to call to get the double charge resolved This stay completely undermined the value of booking through Chase Travel Edit. Until Kimpton Taconic can properly handle prepaid third‑party bookings and consistently honor guaranteed benefits, I cannot recommend staying here—especially if you expect a premium, seamless experience.
We absolutely loved every minute of our visit. From the moment we walked in, the front desk staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming, setting the perfect tone for our trip. The room was fantastic. The bed was incredibly comfortable, but the unexpected star of the room was the shower—it featured independent pressure and temperature controls, which was an amazing, luxurious touch! The hotel is also truly pet-friendly; having a high-quality Orvis dog bed already waiting in the room for our dog was so appreciated. We dined at the on-site restaurant, The Copper Grouse, and it was exceptional. They were wonderfully accommodating regarding our food allergies, offering many great salad options packed with fresh ingredients, and every single dish was beautifully plated. I loved the thoughtful integration of local Vermont brands for the products used throughout the hotel. The property itself is gorgeous, from the stunning mountain views to the beautiful lobby areas filled with comfortable seating that invite you to just sit and relax. Finally, the location is absolutely ideal. It’s tucked away enough to feel relaxing, but it is not far at all from the downtown area, making it perfectly situated to explore local gems like the excellent Northshire Bookstore. If you are looking for a beautiful, welcoming, and relaxing stay in Manchester, we cannot recommend the Kimpton Taconic enough. It was an amazing experience from start to finish!
The Kimpton Taconic continues to be our favorite New England escape from the city. This recent stay was another perfect example of why we keep coming back, and it really starts at the top. Nick, the GM, sets a tone of excellence that you feel across the entire property. We were so grateful for a generous room upgrade to one of the recently renovated cottage suites. The refresh was overseen by Mike, the facilities supervisor, and his hardworking team, and they did a great job. The room was pristine and everything sparkled. We appreciate that Mike always remembers our names and greets us warmly every time we return. The hospitality was seamless from the moment we pulled up. Jaydoura gave us a wonderful welcome and personally made sure all our requests were fulfilled. We also have to give a shout-out to Kristin, our breakfast server, who is always so friendly and attentive. Speaking of breakfast, the Copper Grouse is a can’t-miss. Even if you’re just there for the morning meal, the local, farm-fresh ingredients are incredible. If you’re looking for a great New England inn escape where you’re treated like family, this is it. We can’t wait to return in May!
My wife Cecilia have been big fans of the Kimpton Taconic since it opened and someone each stay is more memorable than the last. If you are looking for an authentic and elevated New England bed and breakfast experience, the Taconic fits that bill in every regard. Special thank you to (i) hotel General Manager Nicholas, who makes sure that the guest experience is beyond first rate, (ii) front desk manager Jaydoura, who went above and beyond to ensure that each of our requests throughout our stay were taken care of and (iii) facilities supervisor Mike who oversaw a recent refresh of the guest rooms and cottages. We also wanted to recognize housekeeping ace Shannon, who not only greeted us so warmly every morning but also went out of her way to pick up small bottles of mouthwash at local store as the front desk had run out. That is just one example of how attentive the entire staff treats guests at the Taconic. As residents of New York City, we savor each and every stay at the Taconic to get away from it all and enjoy the great state of Vermont.
Always a pleasant experience here. Staff is always friendly and helpful, rooms always clean and quiet, dog always welcome, etc. etc. etc. We try to come here at least once a year, usually for our anniversary - they always leave us something for the occasion (though I did notice that it was a bit leaner this year - used to be prosecco and a cheese plate, e.g….this year Just the prosecco so I had to hit the store in town for the cheese and crackers) - but the hotel is our tradition and will continue to be so…
We always love visiting the Kimpton Taconic and it never fails to impress! Check-in is always a breeze, the rooms are very comfortable and quiet, and the front-desk staff (a shout-out to Celeste and Jaydoura!) is always available to help or make recommendations for dinner, etc.
Great location, the room was super clean and the service was excellent.
We love the property as well as the location. Very clean and well kept.
We upgraded to have a room with a fireplace, but every time we turned it on, the a/c would kick on. The room we were in had no night stand and the king bed was about 18” from the door to the bathroom. Very poorly laid out. Very disappointed as we have stayed here in the past and had very much enjoyed it.
One of our favorite places to visit. Kimpton Taconic is a great option if you are visiting Manchester, VT. It is warm and inviting with a sophisticated yet casual ambiance. The staff is friendly and the sitting area off the lobby has a beautiful fireplace. The evening social hour is always a hit with many guests and dogs mingling. If you do not like dogs, I would reconsider staying at any Kimpton. The hotels are dog friendly and the Taconic is particularly welcoming, something guests like me count as a positive. Our dog Abby loves visiting! One thing to note, the ice melt they use outside the hotel is not pet safe so paws need protection in the winter. The hotel rooms are small but comfortable and nicely appointed. The attached restaurant, The Copper Grouse is highly recommended too! Shout out to Curtis at the front desk. He is an example of the friendly staff we encounter at the hotel from the front desk to the restaurant employees and housekeeping, everyone is welcoming. The location of the hotel is another plus. Manchester is growing and there are many restaurants and shops to visit. Many restaurants in town are closed on Sunday and Monday so plan accordingly. There is a new brew pub which was fun to visit and there are local stores (looking at you Zippy Chicks) that are not outlets and well worth a visit for unique, affordable treasures. In general, the town has become expensive. I'm sure it draws from wealthy tri-state locales but the quality is high and it is an easy drive from many areas.
I’m not sure how often hotels get a “complimentary” email recognizing staff, so want to make sure travelers know what a special destination experience the Kimpton Taconic, Manchester, VT consistently delivers! I am thankful for the staff who over the years have made every stay just perfect. From front desk to bellman, housekeeping, maintenance and those in the Copper Grouse, I have received exceptional service each and every visit. Look forward to staying with you in the new year, see you in January!
We stayed in a cottage suite which was very comfortable and roomy. The electric fireplace kept the living area nice and warm. The small refrigerator was a nice surprise. Our pet sitter canceled at the last moment, so we really appreciated the fact that this hotel was dog friendly.
Staying here this week for Thanksgiving, second year here. Generally very good but restaurant hours are erratic at best. When it’s slow the staff treats you like gold but when it gets slammed the day before the holiday it gets sloppy (ie drinks are poured short and staff barely acknowledges you). In addition, this hotel is SUPER pet friendly. Barking dogs all night long and when we checked in our carpet was soaking wet to the point we couldn’t walk on it for a few hours from the spot treatments.
The Kimpton Taconic combines a relaxed Vermont atmosphere with lovely rooms and a solid on site restaurant in the Copper Grouse,
This hotel always surpasses my expectations! The staff is always welcoming and accommodating right from the moment of check in. Jay, is always exceptional and always attentive at the reception desk. She creates an authentic and welcoming vibe that most hotels only strive for. The room was exceptionally clean and a personalized welcome gift/ salutation always adds a personal touch and boutique feel. The breakfast at the Copper Grouse (in hotel) is always tasty, and has a great selection of local delicacies. Lastly, this is “not” an average hotel, it’s more like a second home. I travel for business, all over the world and this is one of my favorite hotels. If visiting the quaint village of Manchester, VT, choose an eclectic, boutique inspired hotel that never fails to impress. Special thanks to every associate in this hotel for always making me feel welcomed and valued. W~
It doesn’t take a genius to work out that your view of a hotel is highly dependent on how much you pay for it. Well I think it's safe to saw we paid way too much for a very average hotel. It started well with a friendly welcome from the receptionist. Less well-received was the “welcome gift” which turned out to be two bottles of water, two boiled sweets and a map leaflet - all the sort of stuff you would usually find in the room. (And we didn’t get any water the second night even though we paid the same rate for both nights.) It didn’t make me feel special or valued I can tell you. You might have thought that given we probably paid far more than anyone else in the hotel (largely taken up with a convention of bridge players) they could have given us a better room, but we got the standard one I booked, which was literally smaller than the bathroom at the previous hotel we stayed at. The bathroom in this one was tiny and the shower was pathetically feeble. The hotel doesn’t have a gym, no breakfast was included and yet we had to pay an additional “resort fee” for the privilege of being able to park our car, the aforementioned welcome “gift” (laughable) and the one thing I thought was a nice perk - the free drink and popcorn at 5pm (although it was a struggle to find a good place to enjoy it what with the bridge players hogging the good seats in front of the fire.) The woman who checked us out was far less friendly than the one who checked us in but perhaps the most irritating thing of all were the prominent QR codes both at reception and on our bedside tables asking for tips. Well here’s a tip - pay your staff properly so we don’t have to. The hotel is not within walking distance (unless you like a long hike) of the main part of the town so there isn’t really any reason to stay here at all. Save your money and find somewhere better. I'm sure if you paid a sensible price then you'll think the hotel is fine. As for me - I feel so affronted at the rip off rates I doubt I’ll stay at a Kimpton ever again.
Fabulous room. Clean. Lovely.
Wonderful weekend at this lovely cosy hotel which is in a fabulous location for exploring the area. We were given a free upgrade to a cottage and the room was delightful and so cosy with the fireplace. The bed and bedding was sumptuous and the staff were very friendly. Meals in the restaurant were great and breakfast was delicious. Parking was plentiful. Will definitely return.
The property was very clean and very beautifully decorated and the atmosphere was very inviting
My room was facing the ground floor and where cars where dropped off from valet so couldn’t leave my shades open for sunlight
We stayed in this hotel three nights. The bedroom was smaller than some of the other hotels we stayed in during our trip but it was perfectly comfortable. The bathroom was excellent with good amenities. The bed was very comfortable. There was good car parking. Given the time of year (not the hotel’s fault!) the dining and bar facilities were in very high demand. As residents we initially had problems booking in to eat but everything worked out well in the end. Very friendly and helpful staff with excellent service.
It was a beautiful property and clean. People/staff were kind and helpful.
The rooms are a little small.
The is was our first trip to Manchester. What a great town! The hotel was lovely- easy parking, quiet, and quaint. The staff at the front desk were so helpful ! You could walk to town but it would be about a 20 min adventure… make sure you go to the North field book store~ wonderful!! And we had coffee and egg sandwich at their coffee shop around the corner.
Excellent stay highly recommended Jay at the front desk was amazing the kindest, most helpful person experienced at a hotel
The AC was super noisy
Loved the hotel, but the carpet in the room was very dirty. Other than that the hotel was lovely.
Very nice, beautiful inn
Well we arrived and it started out fine- the room was 309 very small and very small bathroom, but adequate. They do have an electric car charger which is convenient. We asked about the gym which is a room in the basement- very small but we were happy they had two peloton bikes! Yay! We planned to ride in the morning and then check out and go for a hike. Well we spent 20 minutes trying to get the bikes to work- one the seat adjust is stripped and it is stuck very low- the other does not go on. So then we had to change our plans and go for a hike - we asked for an 11:30 check out (just 30 minutes late as we wasted time trying to get the bikes to work) and the front desk said no. So we left immediately and checked into the Equinox early and have had a wonderful day here! As a side note when you arrive at the Kimpton you get a ticket for one wine or one beer in the library from 5-6. but at the Equinox it is a wine social from 4-6 for everyone - no one ticket one drink situation. Also the room is much bigger. Also the staff at the Equinox did not seem so bothered by the guests as we felt at the Kimpton. (sorry Kimpton- I asked a few questions- we have never been here... sorry to put you out with having to answer- Only one front desk person was smiling and she was the woman who helped us with setting up our car in the charger.- thank you to her!
Great checkout. Friendliness.
Bathroom was not as clean as it should have been.
Great place for dogs we loved it
Amazing property for a quiet weekend in Vermont.
The staff was really friendly and helpful. The coffee provided was unfortunately only lukewarm, and the popcorn supply seemed a little short. But, on the other hand no other hotel has ever provided free popcorn for us
Excellent attention to detail. Very helpful at check in and an informative agent at the front desk. Would highly recommend staying at the Kimpton Taconic Hotel. An updated historic hotel in the heart of Manchester VT. Bed is dreamy and shower fab.
Exceptionally nice experience all the way around. This 10-year old IHG-branded hotel feels brand new, is clean, and is staffed with friendly people. We loved its proximity to everything we wanted to see and do, we loved the comfort of the bed, and we loved the cleanliness of every feature of the hotel. We enjoyed a lunch and a breakfast in the hotel's dining room but not a dinner (wish we had because their wine list is especially well curated). Food is delicious and wait staff cordial and on top of their game. Shout out to Kristin for her particularly professional waitressing. Highly recommended; we'll be back for sure.
WE had an awesome time at the Taconic. Joe was super helpful with our luggage and getting it in and out of our car. He even gave us water for the ride home. I would highly recommend the Taconic as the rooms are beautiful and clean too. They came and changed our bed on a daily basis. WE had a handicapped room and it was so very spacious. The people at the Front Desk were super helpful in getting us to the right places. WE were there for a wedding at Hildene and it was spectacular. WE had the rehearsal party at the Taconic and it was just a beautiful setting. Everyone enjoyed it." Thank you so much for helping to make this weekend a very special time.
Very nice property with friendly staff; excellent food at the restaurant; was only there for 16 hours but definitely want to go back to stay longer.
Restaurant could be better
The hotel and its amenities were awesome. I would love to stay here again.
This is such a lovely property, but we had a barking dog in the room next to ours. It was quiet overnight, but it barked alot in the evening and morning. There were lots of dogs and I get that people enjoy traveling with their pets. I would just like the hotel to put all the folks with dogs on the same floor and wing so others are not disturbed.
Room not ready until after 4:00. No effort to accelerate what seemed like an unused room. Few amenities to utilize.
Location . Close enough to walk to the town
The outside porch where you can dine or just have a drink
Love this place. The rooms are so comfortable and the staff, especially Jaye and the manager Stella are the best! The hotel is very upscale without being stuffy or overly pretentious. Great location! Can't wait to go back!
Great location, very nice hotel. The lobby is very welcoming, and the restaurant for breakfast was great (could have used more servers, however). The room was on the small side, but the bed was very comfortable. I agree with another visitor's comment on the bathroom lighting. It was very dark to put on makeup. While others loved the idea of the hotel being pet-friendly, we did not enjoy that experience, especially eating breakfast with three dogs nearby and a server getting a water dish for one of the dogs. We can't believe that the Board of Health lets restaurants have non-service dogs where people are eating--rules must be different in Vermont. The hotel should consider offering rooms for dog owners and rooms for other visitors. Not everyone wants a room that a dog may have been in. Other downsides: No freezer in the refrigerator, no tea/coffee offered in the room. Yes, it's offered in the morning in the lobby, but for a resort that Travel & Leisure considers one of the top 10 in the country (something we highly dispute), this should be in every room for visitors who would like tea/coffee at night. Overall, it's a fine hotel for the area. Much better than some of the other motels and hotels in the area.
Great location, nice front porch. Nice bar. There is no gym, breakfast, snacks, or gift shop, however, a clothing boutique is available. As a pet-friendly hotel, oftentimes I was interrupted by dogs barking and growling at each other - I felt I was at a kennel. Value for the room rate was underwhelming.
I love that the hotel is dog friendly and have bikes and scooters available for guests. The room was comfortable and clean, nicely furnished. Staff was outstanding
Great stay in a lovely location . Great staff especially jaydoura who was so helpful and friendly Always guarantee a great stay in a Kimpton hotel.
Comfortable/large rooms-great decor. We had a delicious breakfast outside on the front porch. Staff was helpful and you get tickets to Hildene with your room. My only comments would be that the lighting in the bathroom could be better. I had trouble seeing how to apply my make up. There was no freezer in the frig and we had leftovers from dinner we wanted to save. I brought my freezer pack down to the desk to see if they could store it but they said they did not have a freezer.
The hotel is a newer property that has public space elements that resemble a New England country inn — a front porch with rocking chairs facing Main Street, library-ish lobby spaces. The rooms, though, are modern construction - clean, well-maintained, well-ventilated. They most closely resemble rooms you might find at an office park Renaissance than at a Vermont country inn (or an urban Kimpton for that matter). But we preferred it that way — what this hotel lacks in authenticity it more than makes up for in cleanliness and competence. The A/C worked well (we checked in at the tail end of a June heat wave). No problems with the WiFi. Consistently professional staff. The biggest negative was probably the lack of surface space in the room - e.g. no desk. Our 2 Queen room was classified as “Mountain View” but the trees in the back of the property blocked any such view. No coffeemakers in our room, but the morning coffee in the lobby was much better than average. No minibar (a plus, in my view) but the room had a mini-fridge. Easy walk to the Equinox, if you have an event there - slight uphill grade, sidewalks available the entire way.
Our favorite place to stay in the area
I love the front porch to sit out and relax
Absolutely Beautiful property.
Loved the decor of the hotel. Rooms were comfortable. Restaurant was great - French toast was awesome, the whipped cream was soooo good! Water for hot tea was brought out in little cast iron tea pots. Pancakes were the best also. Great location -easy access to shopping and hiking! Social hour was nice - enjoyed a glass of wine on the spacious porch!
First the positives. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. The staff were very patchy. Some were very helpful, others very unhelpful. I was surprised to find no shuttle available at all one evening when the hotel was quiet and when this is included in the resort fee.
Free snacks, lobby bar
Pool was closed, painting hallway during our stay
A beautiful, clean, comfortable, people and pet friendly hotel! I can’t wait to return for another stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. Truly excellent!

I had another lovely stay at the Kimpton Taconic Hotel in Manchester, VT. This was my second time staying with my family of four, plus a group of friends. The beds are extremely comfortable, and the pillows are soft — just the way I like them. The hotel’s location is excellent, with a short drive to both Stratton Mountain Resort and Bromley Mountain Ski Resort. The on-site restaurant, The Copper Grouse, is a solid option for food, and the town of Manchester is so quaint, with charming shops, a supermarket, and plenty of great restaurants — all within walking distance from the hotel. We’ll definitely be back for our next skiing trip!
This has quickly become our favorite place to stay when visiting Vermont. The staff, location, accommodations, and food are all excellent. The Taconic feels like a home away from home and we're looking forward to planning our next visit.

If you’re looking for a place that feels like you are in quaint New England, this is it.
It feels like a few things could be updated or a little cleaner, it is too stuffy and stark for my taste, but if you’re looking for a luxurious New England vibe then this is for you
Beautiful property, lovely amenities.
Location very good. Staff excellent. Copper Grouse was good, but a bit pricey
I didn't like the "resort fee." Kept looking for the resort but couldn't find it
My husband and I and our small dog recently stayed here for three nights for the first time. It is a laid back hotel, and very welcoming. The rooms are compact, but beautifully appointed. The bathrooms have spacious walk in showers. We enjoyed the social hour each night sitting in front of the roaring wood fire, and chatting with other guests. The Copper Grouse restaurant off the lobby was an excellent and delicious place to eat, with a great staff. Manchester is a lovely historic and scenic town and is filled with other highly rated places to dine as well. All in all, it was a great trip, and we will definitely be back!
Our third time here and we love it.
we had a great stay, dog friendly, very clean hotel, lovely staff, quiet and nice ......loved it.
Rooms Seemed up to date Nice ambiance with fireplaces
It’s beautiful, cozy, so well done.
A lot of dog poop on the grounds. People were driving through it and stepping in it.
Location was great, close to restaurants and Stratton Check in was easy Room was tidy and well decorated Parking was easy
No one offered to help me with my stuff to the room. I had an entire cart full of belongings.
