I went out in the morning around 6am to attend a race then I came back around 15H00 tired only to find the room not cleaned and I had to go and inquire what time do they clean the rooms was assisted but I had to sit at the reception and wait for them to clean .

The noise noise noise NOISEEEEEE, at 6am there is a lot of noise from the staff, trollies going up and down it seemed as if those trollies were carrying cutlery, plates etc. Dirty shower The fact that they don't provide dinner for guests not in groups. We were plenty at the door of the hotel waiting for UberEats. No room keys provided, every time you need to access your room you have to go the reception There is spiritual unrest, I struggled to sleep. I was spiritually tortured in that room. Most of the breakfast food was not fresh, I had about 5 items on my plate but 2/5 was not fresh hash brown and croissant. Croissant was hard like a rock I couldn't even cut it

Reviewed Aug 7, 2026I have stayed at many other capital hotels, the furnishings need some serious attention in this one, I was honestly surprised as all the others I’ve stayed at have been pristine. The cabinets were peeling exposing the chip wood, plug points don’t hold the plugs. No mattress protector. No milk sachets or creamer in the room, I was disappointed as I thought the standard would be the same as my stays at other locations.

Front counter staff are rude and disinterested on their jobs. I wanted to book 4 rooms for 5 nights directly with the hotel and the lady who assisted me gave me the run around for the entire evening eventually telling me the the hotel is fully booked even though there was availability on booking.com.

Reviewed Jul 3, 2026The first thing that I really liked was the warm welcoming to the reception. Quick and Easy Signing in. My room was also beautiful, peaceful and very neatly kept. The jokes around the room on the soaps, the water, the lavatory killed me that is very very creative I must say. The breakfast was so nice I honestly wanted to have seconds but didnt because fear of being judged 😂😂😂 but overall I am definitely coming back again for another "Escape".

The toilet had an awful smell even without using it, we found a cockroach in the room and there seemed to be something wrong with the bedding. My wife and I have had rashes since we returned, don't want to suspect bedbugs.

Location just a few hundred meters on foot from the Rosebank mall area with shops and restaurants, big and safe private parking, small but functional gym and outdoor swimming pool, spacious, clean, comfortable room and great shower. Excellent Wi-Fi. Easy and fast check in/out, nice staff. If back to Joburg, we will stay here again!
