Camera/appartamentino molto grande, con zona salottino+camino, bagno, camera da letto e zona esterna con possibilità di grigliare. Siamo stati ad agosto e c'era freschino, però con le coperte fornite siamo stati bene. Si trova a qualche minuto di auto dal centro di swellendam che si raggiunge facilmente. Ci sono degli spazi esterni molto belli per l'estate (es 2 piscine)

Check-in was the easiest. Our room was magnificent. A soft sleep. Electric blanket at our disposal. Facilities neat and stacked with the necessary items. We had access to the fireplace. Wood at our disposal. We did not lack anything. The retreat provided. Will return to Swellendam just to stay at the Hilltop Country Retreat. 12/10.

Needs a little attention. Some rooms not with heating and had to find someone to ask. Eventually the lady at reception gave us her own. Everything a drive away

A wonderful stay in a beautiful setting We had a truly lovely stay at this guesthouse. The setting is beautiful, offering a peaceful and picturesque backdrop for our visit. The rooms were gorgeous, decorated with real care and style, and it was clear that every detail had been thoughtfully planned to make guests feel comfortable and at home. The garden was an absolute delight, a perfect spot to relax and unwind. On top of all this, we were greeted with such a warm welcome that made us feel instantly at ease. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a charming, well-run guesthouse with a personal touch. We’ll definitely be back

Cosy comfy and clean. Lovely quiet location but close enough to amineties. Even the gardener was friendly and respectful

I love fresh milk and there were only little long life sachets...but that's just me.

We only booked for one night, but we wished we could have stayed longer. The rooms were spacious, comforable and well equipped, the staff were super friendly and very accommodating to our very late check in request. We'll definately be back.

Beautifully decorated and furnished. Very comfortable, private, and quiet. Well stocked with anything and everything you may need. Lana is so welcoming, kind, and helpful.

We needed somewhere to rest our weary heads in Swellendam and this venue certainly delivered. The rooms are beautifully decorated, the beds have heated blankets and there is also an indoor fireplace in case you are still chilly. This place was a great find and we would definitely stay here again if we travel through the area again

This was an awesome stay, the place is very clean and very comfortable with supper service, i recommend the Hill Top to all for a comfortable relaxing stay over, we are from Germany, and yes we are very picky about hygiene.

Lovely location, rooms are well kept and well maintained. Kitchen equipment could have more variety with regards to utensils and crockery for those not wanting to head to town for dinner at a restaurant.

Das BNB hat unsere Erwartungen. Es liegt etwas ausserhalb der Stadt, dafür aber mit tollem Blick auf die Berge. Unser Studio war sehr gross und sehr individuell eingerichtet. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und empfehlen diese Unterkunft jedem Reisenden. Achja und grillen konnten wir auch.

The most impressive aspect is undoubtedly the location, nestled at the foot of the mountain, offering beautiful surroundings and a peaceful atmosphere. This was a short two night stay with my two teenagers and this was a perfect place for this. A walk down the hill to the town and stunning views towards the mountains. We were in room 7 which was the largest one with three bedrooms. Only issue with third bedroom was the bathrooms were both ensuite and so in the night you needed to use the toilet effectively outside ! It was fine though. Nicely styled interior and great Braai area outside. Incredibly good value too.

Heerlijke locatie, dichtbij het centrum van Swellendam maar toch rustig en midden in de natuur met een mooi uitzicht over de bergen. Het zwembad is een fijne toevoeging na een lange reisdag. Ook zijn de appartementen ruim en voorzien van een terras. Ik zou deze accommodatie aanbevelen.

The reception lady was amazing, she's a true gem to your establishment, she was so kind, friendly and very accommodating.

We did not like the massive very scary painting/fabric portrait of a a lady in black facing her back towards us, I had a 5 year old with me in the family that did not want to sleep alone in the double bunk due the very scary painting. I would suggest a more light hearted/peaceful painting in the beautiful room. There is also a possible bird in the roof that needs to be addressed. Otherwise we really had a wonderful stay, with the small adjustments that need to be made.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The furnishings are attractive in parts, but the style isn’t consistent throughout the room and bathroom. The staff were very friendly and the grounds are nice, including the 2 pools.

The rooms are very badly soundproofed and the furnishing is a bit hapazard. The rooms need an update.

Very spacious (family) room, very comfortable with all amenities one could possibly ask for. Absolute luxury in a small town like Swellendam. Very comfortable bed and high quality linen. Excellent communication with staff. Close to Marloth Nature Reserve. We will be back. Highly recommended. Probably hard to find anything better in this lovely little town.

Very spacious rooms, excellent beds, finally a nice and warm shower with good water pressure. Also very well equipped with kitchen needs!

Wij hebben hier maar 1 overnachting gehad dus kunnen er niet veel van zeggen. De kamer was fijn, geen airco maar wel een ventilator. Keukentje voorzien van alle basis benodigdheden en een prima badkamer. Het zwembad is een fijne toevoeging.

Auf den Fotos sieht es etwas schicker aus, als es eigentlich ist, aber insgesamt haben wir uns wohlgefühlt. Man hat auf der Terrasse nicht wirklich Privatsphäre, da sie neben weiteren Terrasse liegt. Der Poolbereich ist schön, aber etwas klein.

Die Unterkunft selbst war wirklich schön, sehr sauber und es gab absolut nichts zu beanstanden. Die Kommunikation war unkompliziert. Wir sind zwar einen Tag früher abgereist, da uns der Ort persönlich nicht so zugesagt hat, aber das hatte nichts mit der Unterkunft zu tun. Schade war lediglich, dass es keine Erstattung für die Nacht gab, aber das lag natürlich in der Entscheidung des Gastgebers. Insgesamt empfehlenswert!

Ruhiges gelegene Anlage. Sehr nett eingerichtete Zimmer, liebevoll und sehr individuell. Jedes Zimmer hat eigenen Grillplatz auf der überdachten Terrasse.

We found accommodation this whilst researching our garden route holiday. It is an absolute hidden gem with spacious and tastefully decorated rooms and even a swimming pool and children’s pool. Small self catering facilities and BQ provided and breakfast can be arranged which is exceptional value. There is a choice of airbandb’s in Swellendam but this is most definitely top of my list. Look it up people it’s worth it 😀

Het is een kleinschalig hotel met grote kamers die van alle gemakken voorzien zijn. Wij hebben zelf ontbijt gemaakt, maar er zijn ook zat leuke restaurantjes in de buurt. Het personeel is ontzettend vriendelijk en behulpzaam

Beautiful accommodation, room felt very homely. Great pool with sun loungers which was ideal after long drive. Lovely place to unwind. 2 minute drive into swellendam with lots of restaurants to choose from. We drove down to the restaurant but would be about 20+ minutes walk uphill if you didn't take the car. Swellendam is very pretty, great stop

Fan in room, air conditioning would be great but we knew we had a fan but it was hot.

Rooms were comfortable and clean would definitely go back. Host was friendly and helpful.

Our only downside with this hotel - we only stayed one night ! Fantastic spot to stop off on the Garden Route. We truly loved the hotel, rustic, homely, great room amenities, lovely staff. Peaceful, great small pool with sun loungers. Swellendam is a lovely town, some good restaurants and a shout our for Grace and Mercy, brilliant lunch stop. Highly recommend
