Een super aardige eigenaresse en hele mooie schone en ruime kamers. Het hotel is ook voorzien van een water filter waar je zelf koud water kan tappen. Op loopafstand van alles, echt perfect! Ook het ontbijt was geweldig.

It was a very comfortable stay at the heart of galle fort. If you are looking for place where you could enjoy the galle fort for its fullest, i would highly recommend this place. The service was also good and the staff was very helpful and friendly.

It's a beautiful place, tucked away in a pretty little alleyway, right in the centre of Galle. The rooms are very comfortable and well equipped with lovely bathrooms. Breakfast is delicious and different every day. Staff are very friendly, and the manager has a wealth of knowledge and recommendations she is happy to share with guests. She genuinely checks that everything is ok every day and has time for a little chat.

Alojamiento muy diferente a los que nos hemos ido encontrando durante el viaje. Tiene una decoración de aire colonial, muy bonita y con mucho encanto. Además, está situado en pleno casco antiguo de Galle, dentro de la muralla, por lo que la ubicación es perfecta para conocer la ciudad a pie. El staff es encantador y queremos hacer una mención especial a Sayuri, la encargada del establecimiento, que fue un encanto con nosotros y estuvo pendiente en todo momento.

El único pequeño inconveniente: tuvimos algún problema con el agua caliente 🤣. No conseguimos descubrir cómo hacer que saliera fría.

La dueña es muy amable y simpática, te ofrece recomendaciones de sitios a visitar y restaurantes (fuimos a dos de los recomendados y un acierto total). La habitación de estilo rústico está bien, limpia y con buen aire acondicionado que no hace ruido. El desayuno está muy bueno y es bastante generoso. La ubicación también es muy conveniente.

Como único aspecto de mejora señalaría el agua de la ducha, que no salía demasiado caliente, aunque no supuso un inconveniente tras venir de pasar calor.

Our first accommodation in Sri Lanka was perfect: clean, welcoming, and beautiful. Sayuri was absolutely wonderful with our little one and warm and incredibly helpful with us. The whole staff was caring and always available to help. Breakfast was served on the patio right in front of our room, and it was generous and delicious. Highly recommended!

Fruit, toast, pancakes, fruit salad, papaya-watermelon juice, watermelon and pineapple. local dosa with sambar, coffee and a glass of refreshing watermelon juice. Wir wurden sehr herzlich in Empfang genommen und konnten das Zimmer bereits etwas früher beziehen. Das Personal war im allgemeinen sehr hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend! Das Zimmer war sehr geräumig und sauber. Die Lage ist mitten im Galle Fort Viertel. Das Frühstück war sehr reichhaltig und wunderbar angerichtet.

Für ähnliche Preise hatten wir in Sri Lanka tolle Unterkünfte mit Pool. Für Galle ist das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis jedoch gut. Ein Minikühlschrank im Zimmer wäre toll. (Es wurde uns aber angeboten ihren mitzunutzen)

Das Interieur entspricht den Bildern und das Zimmer ist sehr nett eingerichtet. Das Frühstück war ebenso vielfältig und lecker. Das Personal (besonders Fayas - unser Held) ist sehr hilfsbereit und bei Problemen sofort für den Gast da.

Wir hatten keine ruhigen Nächte, da wir mehrfach Kakerlaken im Zimmer auffinden mussten. Daraufhin wurden wir in ein gleichklassiges Hotel umgebucht. Wenn man die Kakerlakenproblematik nicht hat, wäre es sicherlich ein sehr toller Aufenthalt.

We were right in the middle of the main old town. The staff were super friendly and helpful, the breakfast was home cooked and perfect and the beds and rooms were super comfortable. As a family of 5 we couldn’t have asked for any more. It was absolutely first class.

Een prachtige plek midden in Galle. De kamer was ruim en koel en er werd een extra matras voor onze zoon geregeld. De gastheer en gastvrouw waren behulpzaam zonder opdringerig te zijn. This is a Dutch home converted into a lovely hotel, located within the historic Galle Fort. It is central with a variety of great restaurants, shops and magnificent view of the sunset. The hotel had a very cosy home feel. The local breakfast was good and served in the Dutch home next door.

Access to the hotel is through an extremely narrow street and since there is no sign outside the hotel, it is a bit difficult to identify. Availability of the host was also limited.

The room was in a beautiful colonial house with a lovely breakfast served. The staff were friendly and were there to help anytime we needed.

Like a few other guests mentioned, when we arrived, the staff said our room wasn't available because the electrician wasn't picking up his phone. After reading other reviews it seems common that they change your room from one hotel to the other. It would have been fine if they could have messaged and let me know beforehand. They made it seem like a last minute change when it wasn't based on other reviews. The room ac was weak (it's really hot in galle in April).

Beautiful property in the heart of the Dutch Fort at Galle near the vibrant Peddler’s Street. The staff are very hospitable and the property was very clean and peaceful. The delicious breakfast served was sumptuous and full of local flavors. The manager, Rumeshika communicated very clearly with us over messages and was able to provide us with great recommendations for local food and shopping. She was also very helpful in arranging a trusted and comfortable cab drop to Colombo airport since we had an early morning flight out of Colombo.

First night’s accomodation in the downstairs room was poor. It was stuffy and the bed VERY uncomfortable. The next 2 nights we were in an upstairs room which was much nicer and the bed comfortable.

Firstly, we were asked to pay upfront — which seemed unusual at the time, but after what followed, it made sense. We had originally booked Small House Boutique but were instead given a room at Parawa House next door (same owner, we believe). We were told it was an “upgrade,” however after checking both properties, this didn’t appear to be the case — Parawa House has a lower rating (8.8) compared to Small House (9.1). The rooms looked similar, so we chose not to make an issue of it. After a long day out, we returned looking forward to a shower before dinner — only to find there was no water. This was especially frustrating as staff had seen us enter and failed to mention any issue. We went downstairs and were told it would be fixed in 15 minutes. After 30 minutes, there was still no water. We requested a refund, which was refused. We then asked to be moved to another hotel and were told we would need to book elsewhere ourselves and then be refunded — a process we understandably did not trust. When we asked to speak to the owner/manager, he was extremely rude. There was no apology or explanation. Instead, he questioned whether we were American, Russian, or German because we were “so demanding.” Apparently, expecting access to water is considered unreasonable. Eventually, after an hour, the water returned. However, there was no hot water the following morning. After reading other reviews, it’s clear this is not an isolated incident — there appears to be a consistent pattern of both water issues and poor management behaviour. I would strongly recommend avoiding this property. There are plenty of other lovely places to stay that offer both basic amenities and respectful service.

Erg mooi boutique hotel op centrale plek in Galle. Het hotel heeft een erge mooie styling. Wij hadden 2 kamers met vrienden. En hadden daar een soort privé buitenkamer/terras bij. Erg leuk en luxe gevoel. De bedden waren heerlijk en een warme douche. Het ontbijt wordt op het terras geserveerd en is uitgebreid en zalig.

L'emplacement de cette maison d'hôtes est au calme et en plein centre. Equipe sympathique, belle décoration, petit-déjeuner très agréable.

Bien que les serviettes de bain étaient propres, elles étaient usagées et comportaient d'anciennes taches. J'en ai obtenu d'autres mais dans le même état.

A beautiful property in Galle's old town, down a quiet little lane and close to everything. The breakfasts were fantastic. Our bedroom and bathroom were very spacious.

What a lovely place and full of character!! We stayed in a deluxe double which was just beautiful. I celebrated my 60th birthday during our stay and they made me feel very special. Excellent service, great breakfast and perfect location. I would highly recommend the Small House Boutique.

Good breakfast & comfortable rooms. Staff very responsive and overall professional. Very close to restaurants, shopping, and the water. Easy to catch a Tuktuk from here when you want to go farther out. Did a bit of swimming in the ocean just on the other side of the fort wall. Tiny little ‘beach’ area, but very clean, clear water. Only 1 block from hotel. Very much enjoyed our stay and would return.

At one point the owner was berating a young staff member during breakfast. The young man handled it well, but the owner made me uncomfortable with his attitude toward his staff.

The hotel is located in Galle Fort which was convenient to.walk around to shops and restaurants. The staff were friendly and attentive. Their breakfast was great.

There were little bugs in the washroom. The staff made sure to frequently clean the rooms to address this issue.

Property was well located , although we felt that most areas within the fort would be nice and feel safe enough to stay. Our host was very kind and polite and allowed us an early check in. She also left us fruit in the morning due to our early checkout.

The room itself was generally clean, however the bed sheets, duvet and towels were all quite heavily stained. The room was also quite heavily infested with mosquitoes

Linen had a few blood spots on them that suggested bedbugs but luckily there were none.

The location was good, in the heart of the city. Also the room we got had a sea view and was spacious with a tall roof and a huge balcony. And the room was also clean. The breakfast was limited but healthy and tasty.

Room is really small and unfortunately not really clean. Bathroom is large but also could be much cleaner. WiFi works really bad.

Rumeshika greeted us with friendliness and warmth after a long day of travelling. The room was lovely with adapter plugs in the rooms which was great as we had bought specific sri lankan adaptors where as british plugs would have been fine. We had a minor problem with the water pressure as soon as we mentioned it the staff were very quick to sort it out. The breakfasts were varied and delicious...hoppers were amazing and the banana pancakes with honey. Nothing was too much trouble and its located beside Pedlars street which is in the centre of Galle fort so accessible on foot within the fort. A very comfortable large bed with air con and a ceiling fan which made for a great night's sleep.

Breakfast was generous and interesting, with different Sri Lankan specialities each day and great coffee. We felt cared for. We loved the decor in the property, the room was super comfortable and clean and the breakfast was exceptional every morning. Loved that there was a bit of variety at breakfast and we could try local food, and the staff there were so friendly and accommodating. Also great to be right in the middle of Galle to explore from.

The location is excellent, right in the middle of the Fort. Lighthouse is 5 mins walk, all cool cafes and restaurants are 2-10 mins by walk. The rooms were comfortable, great bathroom.The manager is lovely

Pretty good location, manager helped us get transport back to Colombo. the rooms and building were very nice and the breakfast was one of the best i had in Sri Lanka.

When we arrived, we led to believe the hotel was fully booked and they'd take us to another hotel that was nearby. It was basically next door and the room looked exactly like the one we booked. It was probably a miscommunication from the night shift employees and it was all part of the same hotel, just not in the "main" building.

Great central location on the Forte. Super easy to check-in, all the staff were super attentive. Perfect for our one night in Galle. Clean with a beautiful interior.

Die Unterkunft (zwei nebeneinander liegende Häuser) liegt sehr ruhig in einer kleinen Gasse mit nahezu keinem Verkehr und bietet einen unmittelbaren Zugang um das Fort zu erkunden. Wir waren 3 Tage im zweiten Haus im ersten Stock und fanden ein absolut sauberes Zimmer mit einem sehr gemütlichen Bett vor. Auf der Terrasse konnten wir entspannt einen Tee genießen und lesen. Das Frühstück war abwechslungsreich und lecker (endlich mal warme! Banana-pancakes ;-) ). Ist der Preis für Sri Lanka durchaus ambitioniert, so würden wir in Galle (welches insgesamt mit ziemlich überteuerten Preisen heraussticht) diese Unterkunft erneut buchen.

Preislich etwas hoch gegriffen. Ein Mückennetz wäre durchaus angebracht. Wir haben unseres genutzt.

The property in the heart of Galle Fort is cosy, beautiful, so elegantly furnished preserving the old architectural style of the historic Dutch Fort. The staff were so kind and welcoming going above and beyond. The owner was also so kind to offer us a room after checkout so my daughter could rest as she was feeling unwell. We lived our stay and th picture don’t do enough justice to how gorgeous the place actually is.

The most characterful and beautiful place we have stayed in Sri Lanka! Great location inside of the fort which is where most things are to do in Galle! Breakfast was great with delicious juices and the room was very comfortable and clean
