The George Dawson Inn & Conference Centre

Convenient location as the south end of town, exterior looks aged but the room was comfy and clean. Free breakfast included (sausage/bacon/ham + eggs + hashbrowns + toast + drink). Fairly limited parking at the front end of the hotel but plenty of additional parking in the back of the building. Very good price/quality ratio - will stay there again during my next trip to Dawson Creek.

Friendly welcome at the front desk. Clean, well maintained and comfortable room. Good service for breakfast. Hot, to order breakfast included or a separate menu was available.

Our towels in bathroom had holes in them and were ragged on the edges. They were so thin you could not dry yourself.

The breakfast included with the room was good and the staff both at the front desk and restaurant were quite friendly and helpful. There was free coffee and snacks in the front lobby.

The hotel is very dated and in need of a renovation. I was on the ground floor with large wall-to-wall windows that open directly onto the parking lot. There were no shears on the windows, so the only way to have privacy was to close the drapes, which left the room very dark. The area around the hotel is pretty barren, mostly parking lots.

The bed was comfortable and it was quiet

The restaurant in the building was awesome. We had supper there and my husband had the breakfast which he said was also very good. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were nice.

Limited parking close to the lobby area. Lobby area smelled bad, like either sewer or gas smell. This lasted the entire time we were there. from check in to check out. There was a dead fly on the bed, only one facecloth, no slip mat in the bath tub and most of the other towels were stained. The building is older so the walls are thin. We could hear the neighbors to one side and any traffic walking down the hallway.

The location was great and the staff were awesome. Having a restaurant right there is good.

We were on the 3rd floor and had to carry our luggage up 6 stairs and down the hallway.

The room was very clean. The breakfast was the best hotel breakfast I have had in Dawson Creek and I have stayed at most of the hotels in Dawson. The food at the flavor 8 was excellent. Only stayed 1 night but will definitely be back

There was nothing I did not like. The hotel is older but very clean very friendly and the TV was the best package ever.

The stay was great! The blankets and beds are on the older side but they don't smell and are still decent to sleep on. The room was nice and clean and the breakfast was excellent!

Our room wasn’t clean, there was hair in the tub and hair in our bed. Along with something on the night stand. The sheets had a mild smell. We told the staff at the front but they suggested we move rooms. But it was so late and my child was already asleep in the other bed as we’re travelling all day.

Stayed 2 nights, got called out to a job as soon as I checked in. The hot water was not working, the staff did everything to accommodate us, in spite of my partner being upset, a got it working the next day and comped the first night for me. I ended up not making it back to room, my partner enjoyed the room and was glad they helped us out to make the stay good in spite of me having to go. Thank you George Dawson inn!

The staffs were very nice and made us feel welcome. The lobby was very cold, the staffs were wearing winter coat to greed us. The room were clean. Older establishment but the price was fair and the breakfast included was great. The service at the restaurant was excellent. I felt bad as most customers were taking advantage of the free breakfast and forget to leave a tip to the server. We sure tip her well as she was happy, smiley eventhough it was 6 am when we ate. The front and restaurant staffs were very cheerful. Thank you for your great service. But, the only downfall were the beds were not super comfy and I was not a fan of the pillow cases. In all, I would go back.

I did not like the pillow cases and the beds weren't very comfy. But we all have different preferences for mattresses.

Breakfast was was good, lots of choice, eggs perfectly cooked, and bacon.

Coffee stronger full flavour but thats personal preference 😊

The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast is very good, it is a sit down restaurant and not your typical continental breakfast.

The front desk called us at 11:45pm after we were already in bed to ask us if we paid. We had checked in half hour prior and had pre paid for the room. Then they called at 8:45am and again at 8:50am to remind us that checkout is at 11:00. When we asked why they would call to tell us that, they said it’s their policy and they call every guest in the morning. We had done a lot of driving and were trying to rest and all the calls were really annoying.

Good stay but front desk was abrupt when discovering I used my bank card VISA when booking online and demanded a credit card instead. We prepaid the room. It was already withdrawn. Why does the hotel need a whole different credit card for a prepaid room?

Our stay was great. Staff was super friendly. Fresh coffee in the lobby 24/7. The waitress in the restaurant was amazing, super friendly and sang beautifully to her Spotify playlist of old country favorites. Can’t wait to plan another trip!

Mixed bag. Didn’t have time to check out gym. Price was good. Hotel had high review ratings, and we were in a non-smoking room. Unfortunately it smelled of cigarette smoke. Hated that. Additionally. when we first got to room it was slightly ajar- unnerving! Bed comfortable enough. Got in off long road trip - jand up at 5am to keep going, so just wanted sleep, so didn’t report when got in. In a.m. used body lotion, but it went rancid- smelled bad. Had to clean off myself. Breakfast was great tasting with great service and was free.

Front desk was nice. However, not clear on their listing on here. Nothing was listed online about not being able to accept a visa debit card for the deposit (in fact it says it can be used on hotels.com) they threatened to cancel my stay without a refund and demanded a credit card if I wanted to stay, all for the deposit. Had to talk to the manager, who doubled the deposit since it was on a debit card. Rooms weren’t that great.

It’s clean, comfortable with friendly staff who are very accommodating. They even offer free laundry facility on the property. You also get a voucher for free breakfast every morning in the restaurant on the property.

Excellent stopover property. Great staff, coffee and snacks by the front counter, awesome restaurant. Older Hotel but in great shape. Beside the Alaska Hiway so can be a bit noisey. Will be back one day for sure.

Very clean, quiet and great value including breakfast. But this is an older hotel, if you can let ok past some of the wear and tear then it’s a safe bet

Friendly helpful staff…well equipped clean large room…complimentary coffee in the lobby and in the room…good dinner at the restaurant…quiet…haven’t had breakfast yet but it is included in the very reasonable price of the room and judging from last night's dinner at the restaurant it will be good…breakfast voucher has plenty of options to choose from…comfy bed…what more could you want?!

Nice and quiet. Decent bed. Good shower. Ac didn’t really work so it was 80°F on max cooling, notified front desk. Hopefully that’s dealt with for the next person.

My husband has a very striking diet, due to allergies. The staff was excellent at helping find him food he could eat The front desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful as well. Would definitely stay again.

This property is in real need of a refresh. Although it was relatively clean, everything was worn. For example, the duvet cover had several holes, the toilet and tub drained slowly and the curtains were tired looking. There are likely better choices in the area at the same price point.
