Traditional house (no lift - not a pb for us but may be a point of attention for others) very conveniently located near the train and bus stations, in the touristic area of Ipoh. Very quiet. Relatively small room and bed, but large bathroom with an excellent shower. No breakfast but access to fridge and kitchen in the communal area, or café just next door (same owner).

Le bruit de la rue était infernal, j'ai jamais vu un hôtel qui offre des bouchons d'oreilles. Je pense que cela pourrait être plus confortable avec du double vitrage. Ce qui m'étonne c'est que l'hôtel n'était pas plein du tout, que j'ai demandé s'il n'y avait pas trop de bruits la nuit (on m'a répondu que ça allait se calmer...), alors qu'on aurait pu nous proposer une autre chambre. Sinon, service minimum pour un hôtel. La chambre n'est pas faite.

Location excellent, almost everything walkable! Rooms and common area clean and hygenic. Friendly and helpful staff. Decor is very beautiful. I was on a solo trip and stayed here for 2 nights. Highly recommend this place for family and solo travellers.

A magnificent restoration of a beautiful building* with all the quiet, facilities and amenity for a comfortable stay. Located in perfect position to explore old town Ipoh. * I loved the bathroom reno too!

Stilvole Einrichtung in traditioneller Bauweise. Die unmittelbare Nähe sowohl zum Bahnhof als auch zur historischen Altstadt ist als groser Pluspunkt zu werten. Die Managerin zeigte sich sehr freundlich und hilsbeteit.

Die steile Treppe und die relativ harte Bettmatratze kann für ältete Gäste etwas problematisch sein.

Cleanliness and antiquenes

Friendly staff and well located. It was clean and comfortable. Appreciated being able to fill our water bottles with filtered water and the option to use the communal fridge.

Our room had several different levels of flooring to negotiate which was potentially a fall hazard. Only had 2 coat hangers, more would have been useful. Not a problem for us but all rooms are only accessible by stairs so not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.

We were met by the most kindly lady. The atmosphere was great. Our room was an unexpected surprise of luxury (family room). I loved the bathroom design. The hotel is in the middle of old town, in walking distance of good food, coffee and sites like Columbine street.

Well located to explore the heritage area.

Probably too many stairs & room had 5 different levels .. challenge for someone with knee issues. Not a drama for someone with base fitness…

Clean and modern

A little expensive for Malaysia.

Charmantes, historisches Gebäude, fußläufig zur Altstadt und Little India. Personal sehr freundlich. Schönes, kleines Bad, sehr sauber.

Das Hotel liegt an einer starkbefahrenen Straße, das war zum Glück in den Zimmern zum Hof nicht zu hören. Vermisst haben wir einen Kühlschrank. Ein Safe wäre auch schön gewesen. Die Betten waren von der härteren Sorte.

Good location within easy walking distance of Heritage district of town which was very interesting. No breakfast at hotel but right next door to a lovely eatery which offered malaysian style breakfast and approx 5 -10 mins walk away from places serving western styles. Staff were kind and super helpful in every way.

Can't honestly say i didnt like our room but it was quite 'cosy' in size and with a very small, covered window so felt like we were sleeping in a cupboard (but that may have been because we didn't book direct). We spent so little time actually in our room so it was not the biggest problem.

its a vintage room, along a main street very noisey even with the supplied ear buds still very noisey cant sleep at all. the air con are weak. very small space and toooooooo noisey. does not worth at all

The property was very close to Concubine Lane and other sights. The bed was comfy and the shower good

There were many different floor levels in the bedroom, a definite trip/fall hazard. The aircon was not that effective, we would have like the room a couple of degrees cooler. We ended up standing the provided floor standing fan on a chair to blow over the bed. Though very well located there is a four lane, quite busy, road at the front of the hotel that you have to cross to see all the sights. This could mean a bit of a wait for a break in the traffic

Está muy bien pero en las habitaciones de la última planta hay pequeños escalones o desniveles que son un poco incómodos, incluso puedes tropezar si eres de los que te levantas para ir al baño durante la noche. Si eres mayor o tienes alguna discapacidad sería conveniente que te informes para que te den una habitación sin “obstáculos”.

Er zit geen lift in het hotel, voor ons geen enkel probleem maar wel goed om te weten.

Comfortable beds. Very accommodating. Big open reception for leaving bags and close ot all main sights. Excellent heritage building and highly recommend. Lovely staff.

We ate out as no breakfast available on site. Room comfortable and very clean. Staff welcoming and helpful. Great location, very central. Lovely old heritage building full of character.

Beautiful heritage hotel in Ipoh old town. Staff were so friendly helpful and welcoming. Comfortable and clean. Fill up water station. Able to open shutters on windows to allow lots of light into the room or make it dark for a good sleep-in. Family room was great size for 4 adult size people!

Sarang Paloh Heritage Stay was a great base in Ipoh. The staff were genuinely helpful and made everything easy from check-in to local tips. The location is also excellent — close to the main walking areas and attractions, so it was simple to get around on foot. Would happily stay here again.

One small note: it can be a bit noisy until around 11:00 PM because of the pub across the street, but it closes early enough that it didn’t keep us up all night. Overall, I’d happily stay here again.

The hotel is an attractive and handy place to stay for exploring old and new town Ipoh. Close by are great restaurants and breakfast places, and New Town is full of all the food options for which Ipoh is famous. The hotel is very comfortable with friendly and helpful management and staff. Love all the bird references 😁

The air-conditioning blows directly onto the bed in the room we had. This may not bother you!!!

Keys and access. Locking the front door between 5 and 8pm while offering only one key for two people caused us some inconvenience when we realised the situation.

It is a lovely old building (if you have trouble with stairs you may want to check accessibility) with lots of charm very close to the train station and interesting laneways.

A few trip hazards as you enter the room but as long as you notice them or remember them the second time that is fine.

This is a well preserved building but comes with lots of stairs and no elevators. Even the room had 5 different elevations. Be aware if you have some mobility issues.

The room and common areas were really hot. The airco only worked when you were present in the room with the keycard inserted. You only get one keycard so when you’re out for the day, the room gets really hot and it takes a really long time to cool. Also, there’s an event hall in the building and on Saturday and Sunday there are music shows which are really loud so no quiet or relaxing moments in the room until the evening.

Beautiful heritage building in a great location. The accommodation is located a short walk from the train station, is right next to the old town and is close to lots of good restaurants. The room was clean and comfortable. I have seen a few negative reviews about the air conditioning, but our room got very cold very quickly, so was not an issue at all.

Lo mejor es la ubicación, muy céntrica.la arquitectura del lugar es muy bonita también.

Las muchas escaleras para ir a la habitación y más si vas con maletas. Que no haya una nevera pequeña, el calor de las zonas comunes. Y otra cosa a destacar es el ruido de fuera que nosotros dormimos igual pero hay gente que le costaría.Además mencionar la poca cantidad de agua que sale de la ducha.

The heritage building and the ambience. Rooms and amenities were good.

It should have stated that the rooms are all upstairs on upper floors and it may not suit those with mobility issues. We were in the fruit dove room and it had a number of floor levels within the room and this was very dangerous. We were not told that we had to turn on the hot water so our first one was cold.

The location was perfect -- within walking distance of the train station and the key areas we wanted to see in the heritage district. The decor and fixtures were thoughtfully designed, and the room was comfortable. Nice hardwood floors, good track lighting, comfortable beds.

The main downside was that there were no windows in the room, which we really didn't like, but since we were staying for just one night we didn't make a fuss. In the morning, the water in the bathroom also stopped and started a few times, but eventually morning showers were able to be completed.

イポーの歴史を感じられる素敵な建物に宿泊できたこと。旧市街の中心なのでたくさんのお店やウォールアートが散策できるので良かった。

屋根裏部屋で床が傾いていたので気分が悪くなった。部屋を出る時にカードを抜くと電気が落ちるため、外から部屋に入った時に暑くクーラーを付けて冷えるまで時間がかかるのが辛かった。

Ubicación super céntrica ideal; muy buena limpieza; comodidad de la cama; el estilo y deco de la casa; la amabilidad de la dueña y la house keeper (excepcionalmente maravillosa); que me dejaron alojarme en una habitación porque llegué horas antes de la hora de checkin; que me trataron con mucho cariño y se preocuparon para que mi estancia fuera perfecta (así ha sido) hasta me cambiaron a una habitación con ventana aunque había hecho uso de la habitación sin ventana (para mi es agobiante) ; me ayudaron con todo; el tamaño de la ducha es impresionante; opciones para cargar varios dispositivos; muy cerca de todo, a 3 minutos a pie

Por decir algo, pequeñas cositas sin importancia: había muy poco chorro de agua; que el baño tenía e escaleras y mini altura; no hay ascensor (aunque ese tipo de casas no tienen en Malasia); dan una toalla por persona en vez de 2 por si te quieres lavar el pelo. Yo iba sola, por lo que hice uso de las 2 (si se le pide supongo que darían).

Questo hotel è un vero gioiellino. Ricavato da una vecchia casa cinese, si respira un'aria antica meravigliosa. Posizione ottima, lo staff gentilissimo e cordiale. Letto comodissimo e bagno super, mai vista una doccia coì grande. Ci tornerei subito.

The lady manager was exceptionally knowledgeable about Ipoh and extremely helpful.

Lovely heritage hotel, good location, a well-appointed room and a comfy bed. All the staff were helpful and friendly. There was a nice little garden area outside our window and there was very little traffic noise (our room was not facing the main road).

The lighting in the bathroom could be improved as it was quite dark; also the tap needs fixing in the Pink Jambu room as it is loose and constantly dripping water.
