The rooms are spacious and very pleasant. Breakfast was varied and delicious. The place has many activities to offer (hiking, crocodiles, paddle court, ATVs, etc.)
The air conditioner in the room did not heat well enough. The food at dinner (from the menu) was of a low standard.

Reviewed Aug 25, 2026I don't know where to start with this review because there are so many positive things to say. The property is beautiful, the accommodation top notch and the food delicious. But it's the team at Misty that is absolutely superb. I hope they forgive me if I leave anyone out but I can't say enough good things about them. From Monique that first showed me the room, to Tembeka that made sure everything was perfect, to Rosie that never missed a beat for four days, looking after every need and then some. Then Jemina who went above and beyond, arranging cleaners and furniture to help me have a unplanned and important meeting. Then there was also Mandy and Melsa, who all were excellent in their own way. Nothing is too big for this team, and nothing is too small. They are awesome, and they deserve the praise! I hope many guests will visit them in the future. For guests that are concerned with such things. There is a five km gravel road to the lodge, most of which is well maintained. No problem driving on it with a standard passenger vehicle.

The road to property is not great. There is no set-price lunch/dinner for $24, as advertised on Booking. At night, it’s hard to find the right cabin, because the numbers are not lighted. They had no record of my booking even though they sent me a welcome email.

Reviewed May 26, 2026Wat een leuke locatie, lekker afgelegen van de drukte . Wij hadden een tent en die was reusachtig van afmetingen. Enkel is er geen airco wat in zeer warme dagen wel een nadeel kan zijn. Alle privacy is er wel en vergeet zeker niet een braai pakket te bestellen want dat is ongelofelijk top. Voor de sportievelingen zijn er vele mogelijkheden zoals quads, bungy sprong, etc. Het ontbijt is ook prima met mooi uitzicht op zwembad en de zee. Weeral top verblijf.
De weg vanaf de hoofdweg is gravel en best stoffig. Geen airco in de tent.

Es war wirklich alles okay, bis auf vielleicht die Anfahrt über die Sandwege, aber dafür erwartet einen auch ein bezaubernder Blick auf das Meer. Das Frühstück war lecker aber leicht auf englische Gäste getrimmt...der Pool erfüllt den Zweck einer Abkühlung mit schöner Aussicht. Der direkte Zugang zum Meer fehlte mir, aber wohl aufgrund der hohen Küste nicht ungefährlich.

It was a bit cold in the lodges but heater and warming bottles make it warm and cozy. Also the breakfast was a little too „english“/ savory for me but all in all still nice.

Wir lieben die Sea View Lodges mit dem atemberaubenden Ausblick, den wunderbaren Pool und vor allem die friedvolle Ruhe an diesem besonderen Ort. Das Essen abends ist auch wirklich gut!
Leider ist das Frühstück im Vergleich zu den letzten Jahren schlechter geworden, da es jetzt nur noch ein kleines Buffet gibt und man nicht mehr a la carte Frühstück bestellen kann.

Reviewed Mar 5, 2026Das Personal war sehr freundlich und persönlich. Besonders gefallen hat uns die Möglichkeit einen Picknickkorb zu bestellen. Die Aussicht war von der Terrasse war sehr schön.
Leider hatten wir etwas kältere Tage erwischt mit etwas Regen, dementsprechend war unsere Hütte schon sehr kalt, die Heizstrahler haben da leider auch nicht viel geholfen.

Der Blick aufs Meer beim Essen... Paddel Platz neu...leider keine zeit gehabt. Hilfsbereite und sehr freundliche Mitarbeiter :-)
Das Frühstück ist sehr auf englische Kost ausgelegt. Soweit wir erfuhren nur ein geführter Zugang zum Meer. Schwimmbad eher Zierde. Dennoch würden wir wieder kommen.

Reviewed Feb 8, 2026There are not many options to choose from if you want to stay near Tsitsikamma National Park. Misty Mountain Reserve met our expectations for good level of comfort, food cooked on site and ability to have your own BBQ/Braii. Lovely bar on the terrace too. Great views but, as the name suggests, there can be quite a lot of mist rolling in and so they can be tempered somewhat. Luck of the draw! If you play padel, then you will never play on a court with such a look out and monkeys jumping around the trees.
I personally didn't like the Hives - which we were "upgraded" to. For me, they were too small and too light in the morning, albeit they have their own private deck and plunge pool. However, they were very popular, particularly with walkers. Our request to change rooms was handled extremely professionally and we really enjoyed staying in one of the lodges for our second night.

Reviewed Jan 30, 2026Een unieke ervaring! Afgelegen, maar daardoor juist heel bijzonder. Geweldig uitzicht. Heel goed en vrolijk personeel, je merkt echt dat ze hun werk graag doen. Fantastisch eten voor een goede prijs. Fijne spa. Aapjes en pauwen lopen rond. We kregen een upgrade, wat echt geweldig was!

The monkeys which visited us within minutes of our arrival and helped themselves to fruit and nuts from inside the tent! We learned very quickly to close the door at all times!

Reviewed Jan 10, 2026Misty Mountain is fabulous they even upgraded us to the honeymoon suite for a night. The staff are wonderful and incredibly attentive, the restaurant is exceptional with beautiful sunset views, and the overall atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing. We truly loved our stay.

There seemed to be a lack of management and staff training. Staff were lovely and very helpful but require trying and guidance or more help. Everyone seems to do everything which means nothings gets done properly( everyone is trying their best but there is no structure)
