We had a delightful stay for two nights at the Cedar Court in Harrogate, celebrating our Golden Wedding Anniversary by visiting the Great Yorkshire Show and enjoying a breakfast in the hotel sharing many happy memories of our wedding day in Winchester with the friend who was our best-man 50 years ago.
Stayed 1 night for Great Yorkshire Show. Grounds lovely and good location Bar area nice and average hotel prices Shame the room wasn’t up to the same Standard. The bathroom in particular needs a full refurb. Floor marked, bath seal very grubby. Seal on shower screen black from either dirt or mould Bottom of bath panel grubby and coming away Dust hanging from the bottom of the heater in room Window seals black in corners One of bedside lights not working No coffee in room and no phone so a trip to reception to get some Speaking honestly I have stayed in many low budget hotel with better standard room Nobody on reception at check out to point all these things to . Waited 3-4 minutes but nobody in sight
Large hotel in very good location. Friendly staff. The hotel has a carpark on site, but this costs extra, despite the room being expensive. Had a room on the top floor facing the afternoon sun. It was extremely hot, and a portable fan didn’t make much difference, so not easy to sleep. With the blind down there is little ventilation even with the window open.
I recently attended a birthday party held in the tipi at cedar court hotel. All of the guests had an amazing time and the venue was perfect. The staff were all amazing but Gary went above and beyond. He was constantly checking in with guests, took care of removing all the decorations at the end of the night and made sure everyone was fed. Thank you Gary!
The state of the bathroom in the family suite was very poor. Fixtures and fittings either loose or came away in the hand. Bath plug hole blocked due to hair. No teaspoons for the compimentary tea and coffee. Unable to phone for room service so had to go down and order. Received the food one hour and twenty minutes later. Claimed it was due to two functions going on.
After staying at the Hotel on two previous occasions, we were looking forward to a two night break. After waking extremely early to the rattling cooling system for the beer, we continued with our break away. On our second night, we rang reception around 11pm to complain about the noise (sounded like a washing machine full of screws), to be told that the cooling system would be turned off at 12pm. This didn’t happen and unable to sleep, we made a complaint and a member of staff visited the room and agreed that it was unacceptable and moved us to a quiet room at 1am! On check out we asked to speak to the Manager but was advised she was not on site but would call us. 3 days on we still haven’t had the courtesy of an apology or a call. Such a shame, the food was great and this is a lovely hotel let down by poor maintenance and communication. Would not recommend.
We had an amazing stay at Cedar Court Harrogate this weekend. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly pleasant, friendly, and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble, and they really made our stay special. The hotel was very clean throughout, and the food was absolutely lovely. Everything was well presented and enjoyable. What really stood out, however, was the staff. They were all amazing and went above and beyond to make sure we had a fantastic experience. Their kindness and professionalism made our weekend even more memorable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend Cedar Court Harrogate to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable break. We can't wait to return.
Excellent service from reception Clean rooms Excellent food
Had a lovely couple of days away at the Cedar Court. Great location and lovely hotel with lots of character. Easily within walking distance of the shops. Didn't have dinner but breakfast was lovely.
Stayed here several times in past must say the food is really good quality hotel great location. So this time felt like their service had slipped obviously new team members in restaurant and I fully understand everyone has to learn on the job but felt the guy who was mentoring the new member wasn't really advising them very well on service & should of stepped in and helped . Bar staff were really friendly and welcoming . So 2nd day bearing in mind we had upgraded to a suite for birthday treat came back to our room tea /coffee tray hadn't been replenished so went to reception and I felt like I was putting the lady in question with ginger auburn hair out of her way and she offered no apology. So finally on day of checking out we went for breakfast which was very good only to find when I returned to our room to freshen up before leaving for our onward journey to find housekeeping were in stripping the bed and cleaning the room so I explained to her I hadn't checked out yet and I need to use the bathroom and she smiled and just carried on cleaning and we had to wait at least 10 minutes before she left this really spoiled our experience of this hotel so when I mentioned to the receptionist the same lady I asked for replenishment the day before, she offered no apology and did say it shouldn't of happened and she would have a word and that they were short on housekeeping staff which to be honest it was clear to see but I'm on my holiday and I really don't need to be told of the hotels staffing problem. Also when I got asked for feedback it felt like I was dealing with a robot ,all told think most of Frontline staff were lovely but think the management could benefit with more training
Ideally located just off the Stray ,this is a smart newly-refurbished hotel with great facilities. Don’t be put off by the Cedar Court brand! This is much smarter than the Wakefield one ) .
Service and food for our evening meal in the restaurant was superb. Rooms look a bit tired and for the night we stayed it was rathe expensive compared to other hotels (which had no availability).
The rooms were very clean, spacious. Parking was ample and good price to stay over night. Very friendly staff. Only a 10 minute walk to town centre
Had a couple of days this week at Cedar Court, we stay here two or three times a year when visiting Harrogate. Love the location and walk into town, or if you don’t fancy a walk the bus at the back of the Hotel is every 10mins into town. We had a Delux room on the 3 rd floor and the walk in shower is great. Room 313 the view opposite the tippee has restricted view to the park as there is a huge tree in the way.Love the lounge area very relaxing . Only disappointment is the car park fee has gone up to 10 pounds for 24 hours.surely if you are a resident this should be free. Have stayed in a couple of hotels in Harrogate but do always come back to Cedar court. It always seem cheaper to book with Booking.com rather than directly with the Hotel. Restaurant is excellent.
I stayed here for a business trip and it served a purpose. Toiletries in the bathroom were “The White Company”. The room was clean, modern and stylish as was the bar and reception area. The corridors and lift were dated. I wasn’t told you need to hang a sign on your door to get room serviced so was a little annoyed to get back to my room at 18:30 after a long day of work meetings to find no clean mugs and hand soap still empty etc but reception came relatively promptly to try and sort.
Really nice hotel, one of the best we have been to in the uk, very large room, don't normally leave reviews but had to on this occasion.
We recently stayed at the Cedar Court in Harrogate. Booking in advance a little we got a relatively good deal on Booking.com. About £80 per night. The hotel is very upper class and great value for the money. The interiors are very well decorated and maintained. The bar area is spacious and comfortable with reasonably priced drinks and snacks. We were greeted by Ilaria, on reception who couldn't help enough. She was very polite and courteous and gave us all the information we needed to check in smoothly. She obviously knew we were new to the place and reassured us answering all our questions without fuss. We were lucky to get a recently decorated superior room at the front over looking the park, car park and the main road. The room was very clean, especially the bathroom, which was served with ample towels and soaps etc. The bed was also very comfortable indeed. The location, if looked up on google may give you the impression that it is a long way from the town center, it is not. It is only a pleasant 10 minute walk along some leafy wide streets into the center. Because of this we didn't use the car at all during our stay. On car parking, there is ample, but it is not free! You must remember to register your car on arrival at reception and pay the £10 for each 24 hours. Paying for parking at any hotel you are stating at always feel like a rip off and kind of takes away the smile a bit. We usually book hotels with free parking, but these are getting harder to find these days. The only negative was the breakfast which we booked separately a £14 each. Most of it was quite acceptable with a good selection but was let down badly by the fruit juices being watered down to an unacceptable level. Why would you do this? It won't save the money hoped for while wrecking the breakfast experience. Come on Cedar.... what was going on here? Other than that, the food on offer was good and you could have as much as you wanted from the buffet type setup. We would definitely stay here again but probably skip the breakfast next time and instead, take a walk into town to Wetherspoon's which is well worth a visit in the old Winter Gardens building. If you have time, go and visit Spofforth Castle, a ten mins drive away and the boating lake in Knarebourgh, near the castle. You won't regret this on a sunny day. Once again thanks to Ilaria on reception for making us feel special and most welcomed at the Cedar Hotel.
We had our wedding breakfast in the beautiful Imaginarium. We were able to go in the day before to decorate. All our guests commented on how it was the perfect venue. Right from the start the staff Stacey (Hotel Mgr), Pagi (event coordinator) and Steve (exec chef) helped us to plan the perfect celebration and meal. The meal was spectacular and more than worthy of a 5* hotel. Our guests were unanimously impressed. The staff on the day were superb the care, attention to detail, professionalism and warmth were second to none - thank you so much to Matteo, Pablo, Anne and Harry behind the bar. I can’t recommend this venue enough. Thank you once again.
A fantastic afternoon/evening in the imaginarium for a family wedding. The room is stunning, food delicious and staff were absolutely fantastic. Big thanks especially to Matteo , Anne and Pablo who made the afternoon even more special
Amazing day super room ( the imaginarium ) Matteo, Pablo and Anne did a fantastic job looking after us all and making us welcome couldn’t have been a better day ( despite the rain!) the bar staff were also amazing although sorry I didn’t get your names they had a lot to deal with 😂 thank you so much
A beautiful ornate building lovely room but on arrival I was met with an unhelpful staff member who barely looked up at me - disappointing and spoilt the while experience for me. The I was served by the cheeriest and most helpful of fellows Fabio who bent over backwards as did Grace the next day on reception, Thank you both.
"Overall", probably the best hotel that I have stayed in, having spent approx 4 years, on and off, in hotels over the past 35 years. Situated on the edge of town, yet only 10 minutes easy walk to the town centre and the station, hence do not need the car. The staff were extremely obliging and polite, the hotel was very clean, the room was clean and the bed comfortable, the breakfast was all that could be wanted, but if something was not there that you required, then just ask. The Ambers restaurant was a little pricey, but the food and service was good. Everythng concidered, I could not really fault this hotel. If asked could I recomend improvements? Yes. Just two. Car parking should be free for staying guests. (Sadly all hotels in Harrogate charge for guest parking). Air conditioning would have been an improvement in the bedrooms. Although our 5 nights stay was the hottest nights on record for May. An open window and closed curtain did improve the temperature, and because of the hotel's location traffic noise was absolute minimal.
Cedar Court is one of those historic buildings that give an old-world feel to visiting Harrogate, but with some rather nice updates. The room we had was clean and comfortable and delivered the essentials. The breakfast was delicious. And just hanging out in one of the many lobby rooms was a nice way to while away our time. Best, it's located just a few blocks from the town's center of action, most especially, Betty's Tea Rooms and Imagined Things, a small, well-curated independent bookshop.
Attending and wedding evening party, checked in the room to find the double glazed units have failed as there was condensation in the panes, room has dusty, instructions on how to use the coffee machine but no machine just packet instant standard Nescafé and for £165 for the room plus additional £12 to park the car in the grounds I find to be very insulting then when leaving both lifts where out of order I would suggest to steer clear. I would not call this a four hotel.
Made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived. Lounge area and restaurant have a feel of luxury, instantly felt relaxed and looked after. Staff couldn't be more helpful, even preparing us a snack after food serving times. Only downside was WiFi wasn't the best in the bedroom., making it impossible to watch anything on the TV. Despite this, we are already looking at dates for a return visit.
Stayed for my 60th birthday celebrations with my family, 7 adults, 1 x 5 year old and 2 dogs. The hotel is very good with really friendly staff. A very easy check in seeing that there were 4 rooms. The restaurant and bar are tastefully decorated with a good atmosphere, mainly because of the professionalism and friendliness of all the staff, nothing was too much trouble. The food at breakfast was good quality and lots of it. Was the hottest days of the year but was great to sit outside in the shade in comfortable seating at the front of the hotel with drinks. Everyone had a really great time and would recommend and will definitely be back.
Stopped off in Harrogate, the town of my youth and needed an hotel for the night for me and the wife. Cedar Court is a large hotel a short walk into the town and overlooking the open area of The Stray, albeit our room at the back of the building had a view of the car park. That said, fine for one night, bed was comfortable which is the main thing when you have a long drive the next day.
Just returned form a 4-day work trip to Harrogate. A lovely traditional hotel with modern decor. Plenty parking. Lovely front garden. Great decor. The restaurant is a must see! Fabulous food! The highlight for me was the staff. They were brilliant. I was so impressed I even noted their names. Fabio, Plarent, Gary, Anne and Matteo are just a few of the names that deserve praise. Professional, fun and friendly. I appreciate staff with pride and a sense of humour. It makes the difference between lifeless corporate chain hotels and the management should be proud. Chef Martin even rustled up bacon rolls to take away before breakfast service. A lovely surprise for our early departure. Top lad. There was only one member of staff that seemed abrupt and out of character. He was rather impatient and short with elderly patrons checking in for breakfast service on Wednesday morning. Don’t let one member of staff spoil a great product! Overall 5 stars!
Very nice stay everything was really well presented and would be happy to come back.
Lovely atmosphere the restaurant is very well decorated the food was amazing .Gary is very professional makes you feel special .The room was lovely the bed very comfortable, very clean .Declan on reception ,great personality, good conversation. This our 2nd stay will be returning.
Nice location rooms are good for the price. There was damp in The bathroom however, and staff was not the friendliest perhaps it could’ve been because I was wearing my work uniform but definitely got a judging and unfriendly response from staff shame as the location was perfect for myself and we will have to be looking at other hotels now
We took a one night break and had a wonderful night with Sunday Dinner served in a splendid dining room by attentive staff. All the staff we interacted with were polite and happy to help. The Sunday dinner was priced at £32 for 2 courses and £39 for 3 courses. We had room 317 which was very comfortable and clean and tidy. The self service breakfast options were plentiful and well presented. The grounds are well maintained and the hotel is a 10 to 15 minute walk to the town centre.
I had booked 2 nights away here for my partners 21st birthday. I had arranged with the hotel for there to be big ‘21’ balloons and a banner in the room for when we arrived as a surprise for him. I paid extra for this. Unfortunately when we entered the room there was only 1, tiny balloon saying happy birthday so obviously I was upset by this. I went down to reception and asked to speak to a manager. Immediately a manager came to speak to me, she was very accommodating and apologetic, she upgraded us from a classic double to a deluxe suite, aswell as some vouchers for free drinks, again with multiple apologises from her which was very much appreciated. We immediately got the key for the new room and it was beautiful! It was cleaned to perfection with an amazing view of the garden! We were so happy with this especially since it was for my partners birthday. The room came with all the amenities you would need and offered room service (obviously with a charge). The entire hotel is clean and decorated really well, unfortunately the restaurant was fully booked but that was our own fault for not booking prior, we would’ve loved to have experienced it but will definitely be coming back. The one thing I would say, is that they need more disabled parking, from what I saw there was only 3 spaces and they were usually always full so we struggled to park, but apart from that our experience was amazing and we can’t wait to come again! Thanks again to the manager who helped us!
Staff super helpful & friendly. Room ok just needs a refresh & window clean. Breakfast good
The hotel exceeded our expectations in many ways. Our room was well presented with plenty of room, a comfortable bed (blackout curtains helped with 2 great nights' sleep!) and clean, functional bathroom. Staff are courteous and helpful. The bar and restaurant are very good - lovely buffet breakfast and the dinner menu very tempting! Plenty of on site parking (maybe a bit expensive at £10 a night but just leave the car there for as long as you stay - you don't need to drive into the town centre) Our view was to the front over The Stray so much better than the car park or other buildings.
Some shades of needing an upkeep (in the bathroom) but otherwise a great place for a few days stay. Good location, with a 10 minute walk to Harrogate, efficient reception staff, and reasonable choice for breakfast (although the vegan choices could have been better on day 2 for us). The bedroom was adequately spacy, with a range of TV channels to choose from if needed. There isnt much by way of facilities (no gym, pool, games room) but a good lounge area to chill out in. Parking was adequate and reasonably priced.
We used Cedar Court Harrogate for a family gathering and we loved it , attention to detail, really looked after by Roisin. Roisin's customer service is of a 5 red star establishment , always attentive, smiling and called every guest by its name which is pretty impressive. We thank you so much and will see us again!
The Cedar Court Hotel was in the perfect location and had the right ambience for a Bank Holiday weekend away.
We arrived late morning and parked our car, paid for our car park stay in reception, then returned later in the day to check in, the room was on the front of the hotel over looking the stray and cedar tree, it was very quiet and we slept well. The breakfast was excellent, a good choice, lots of tables to sit at band the staff at breakfast were very helpful and friendly. We will return.
We had a flying visit to Harrogate and on a friends recommendation we booked Cedar Court. We were not disappointed. From check in to checkout the service was of the highest standard. We booked afternoon tea as part of our stay, a much cheaper option than the famous Betty’s. The food was delicious. The setting stunning. Our room was a supreme double on the 2nd floor overlooking the cedar tree. It was lovely and quiet. Very comfortable and stylish decor. Loved the backlit headboard. The complimentary toiletries were lovely. Wish we had been able to stay longer.
We have stayed at this hotel on quite a few times, and has most of what we want, I do not agree with the compulsory car paring charge
Nicely modernised and very comfortable hotel about 10 minutes' pleasant walk from centre of Harrogate opposite the Stray. Attractively furnished and decorated public rooms and restaurant. I would recommend it.
I had the most wonderful stay, thank you to the staff that took care of us x
Looks like a traditional Harrogate hotel from the outside but inside has been given a marvellous up date / refurbishment. A warm Yorkshire welcome made us feel at home. Our corner room was clean and well equipped with a view over the manicured front gardens. Food and drink were of the highest quality along with the charming service from the restaurant and bar staff. The dinner menu has great choices. Breakfast is 'Buffet style' but well laid out and with plenty of choice both continental and cooked. Harrogate is a lovely town with lots of independent shops sitting alongside the larger ones - and of course there is always Betty's Tea Rooms to try.
Very good indeed. Lovely hotel. Great central location. Very professional staff. Decent room and not expensive. Really nice buffet breakfast with lots of choice. Had to pay extra for car parking but this was fine considering the central location. Once our car was parked we went off to explore Harrogate on foot. Would definitely use this hotel again if we were in the area.
Superbly positioned on the edge of the Stray at Harrogate, excellent service and a great English breakfast range...
Lovely hotel, perfectly placed for a wander into Harrogate and visiting attractions. Helpful, friendly staff. Good selection of food and drink. Very comfy beds and a quiet location make for a great nights sleep.
We have been visiting the Cedar Court Hotel for many years and we have noticed the continuous improvements. The bar area is very pleasant and Amber's is the best restaurant in Harrogate. Lovely food. Our bedroom had also been refurbished to a very high standard. All staff are very friendly and cannot do enough for you. Please can you say 'thank you' to Harry, a member of the bar staff. He is always very pleasant and friendly. He has excellent customer service skills and is very professional.
Cedar Court is an excellent hotel, with huge visual impact on arrival. Our room looked out into a large cedar tree that must have gave the hotel its name. Room was clean and had lovely, romantic window seat. Bed was a bit small but Ambers Restaurant has great food and excellent staff service. Unfortunately, parking is no longer free and cost us £10 for one night.
We had a lovely stay at Cedar Court to celebrate a birthday and a wedding anniversary. All members of staff were extremely friendly. The room was spotless and facilities were just as we needed. Special mention must go to Grace who went above and beyond to ensure that our stay went without a glitch; Thank You Grace. Thanks must also go to Joelle for helping us celebrate 🥂🥂. Thank you Joelle. One thing to ask would be to have some disabled parking bays in your car park at the rear. 10/10 Cedar Court..... Thank you
Enjoyed are stay at Cedar Court in Harrogate would recommend it very friendly nice food& clean rooms
Fantastic location to all the attractions in Harrogate. A delightful place to stay and we would recommend the Amber restaurant. A wonderful selection of drinks and amazing food backed by wonderful service from Eleanor, Gary, Matteo, Anne, Plarent and Callum. We can’t wait to go back!
Overall a very good experience. Good sized car park. Beautiful DeLuxe bedroom, everything we needed. Food was good, but like many places, more vegetarian choices are needed. ( When will this country realise how many people are vegetarian nowadays?). Also, breakfast needed more choice for a hotel of this standard - poached eggs, omelettes, eggs Benedict etc; again more choice needed for vegetarians. But all food was hot, tasty and good quality. The outstanding features for this hotel are the great service and staff - could not do enough to help. Special mentions to Matteo, Gary, Ryan, Anne in the restaurant; and a very special mention to Paloma, who was exceptional. Whoever trains the staff does a fantastic job!
Iqrah service was truly outstanding.. went above and beyond to make our dinner service as smooth as possible.
Stayed for 1 night, but would definitely return. Ideal location to walk into Harrogate. Restaurant was excellent with a wide range of choices and lovely food.
Pleasantly surprised by the hotel. Very clean and tidy room. Facilities great with superb location. Ate in hotel restaurant this evening and we were blown away by the quality of the food. Recently returned from a Cunard cruise in Queens Grill and the food here equaled that standard. Not only was the food delicious, but the service was second to none. Thank you to Eleanor, Anne, Matteo and Gary for being welcoming and creating a relaxed but efficient service . Would definitely recommend this hotel and food for quality. Thank you.
Met some friends for a lovely meal on Sunday evening. Excellent service from Mattel and Gary. Very friendly staff with a great sense of humour. Made to feel very welcome.
Excellent surrounding ,huge garden ( just lack of seating outside) not far from centre
We stayed here as part of a 2 day Travelzoo deal. Great location for walking into the centre of Harrogate and the grounds beautifully maintained. Large car park payable at £8 a day however we had this included in the deal. Lovely area when entering the hotel with plenty of nice seating, bar area and plants. Reception was efficient and welcoming. At the time of our visit the corridors were being upgraded but it didn't disturb us. The bedroom we were allocated was not what was advertised via Travelzoo. I presume this was one of the rooms awaiting upgrade. Not comfortable at all. Carpet like cheap felt and thin. Bed small and uncomfortable. Paintwork scuffed and doors scratched. Black mould around the bathroom. We wasn't expecting a big posh room but we were expecting the room advertised when we booked. Amber's restaurant was beautiful and a good selection for breakfast. Catered well for our plant based diet. Vegan sausages and plant milk available when asked. However on the first morning we were handed a stained carton of plant milk which even had a hair stuck to it. Not a good standard. All self serve buffet including drinks. Shame there were no teapots. Such a nice environment whilst having breakfast so it would of been nice to sit and have a pot of tea instead of a big mug. Food was topped up efficiently and staff were helpful. Feedback was given to the hotel regarding the room and hairy milk carton but didn't really seem to want to know. Therefore we wouldn't stay here again on our next adventure to Yorkshire .
Spent a fantastic Easter at this lovely hotel. Last visited it at Christmas 2021 and definitely worth the 3+ hours drive up the notorious A1 from Suffolk!! Stayed five nights chilling out to make up for a rotten Christmas break in Scotland. We ate well with excellent food and served by Gary, Paloma, Matteo, and Anne. Well done! Our room although defined as ‘Classic’ was spacious, comfortable and very clean. Harrogate Buses operate their electric buses past the hotel for the short ride into town as well out to Knaresborough, Ripon, and Leeds. Definitely returning for Christmas 2026..
Excellent location. The atmosphere was relaxed and staff were friendly, approachable and professional . Rooms were well presented, very clean with comfy beds. Food was excellent with a great choice at breakfast and Evening meal. Dining room decor was beautiful and totally unexpected. Reception staff - Eleanor especially - who helped us out - were always around to help as necessary.
we celebrated our daughter’s 21st birthday in the private dining room at Cedar Court Hotel Harrogate with a group of 26 family and friends, and the whole experience was absolutely exceptional. From start to finish, everything was handled beautifully. The food was incredible — generous, high quality, and genuinely delicious — and every guest commented on how much they enjoyed it. The team could not have been more accommodating or attentive, which made organising such an important celebration feel effortless and relaxed. A special thank you to Matteo, Maisie, and Pablo, whose impeccable service, warmth, and professionalism made the evening run seamlessly. They really helped make the occasion feel special for all of us. It was such a meaningful milestone for our daughter, and the atmosphere, service, and care from the team made it a celebration we’ll always remember. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Cedar Court for a private event or special family occasion
Dog friendly hotel with a lovely garden, The hotel was nicely decorated and served a very good breakfast . We were a bit disappointed in the evening meal.
Jason looked after us. Best service we have had in a long time!
Comfortable, clean and quiet hotel within walking distance of the town centre. Those with bus passes will find the stop close by providing a frequent service into town and elsewhere. Plenty of choice from serve yourself breakfast. Dinners were delicious and hot. The friendly, efficient team, particularly Lauren, Harry and Woody, provided a first class experience.
Rooms very good, nice shower with good pressure. A very clean hotel, I didn't see any dogs (not sure if they allow them but no smell or sign of any). Breakfast very good, plenty of choice, fresh fruit and really nice full English, although a teapot would've been nice instead of a mug. Classy decor too. Bar was disappointing, with limited options, no real ale. Generally a really good stay though.
Hotel undergoing refurbishment of access corridors and whilst it didn’t directly impact our stay it would have been polite to have been informed prior to our arrival, especially as they communicated with us multiple times about upgrading our experience. Positives: We booked a superior room and it appeared to have been quite recently refurbished, very clean, comfortable bed decent size overlooking the front of the hotel with pleasant views over park land. Negatives: No safe No fridge No shaving mirror Plug in bathroom sink ineffective No shelving in bathroom or shower Telephone didn’t work Decent White company toiletries attached to tiles with cheap sticky pads that were inefficient Food: Decent breakfast apart from the orange juice which tasted like weak orange squash. Dinner at Amber’s restaurant in the evening was very disappointing, very slow service and food that was poor quality, we only paid for drinks and starters.
Lovely two nights stay at the hotel. Nice room, comfy beds and excellent food. Only 10 minutes walk from town centre. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
We had our second evening meal and first breakfast this morning, the food was excellent, the restaurant staff most helpful and attentive, with particular thanks to Lauren, Lily, Ben and Ryan for making our stay special.
Just been for a 2 night stay and Gala dinner , which we do every year . The hotel is midway through a refurbishment which is starting to look good in some areas so be aware if going soon it doesn’t mention it anywhere , and some of the bedrooms are very tired looking . It was the Gala dinner that let this place down completely, They placed one 17 yr old lad to look after us , who didn’t have a clue bless him ( absolutely not his fault in anyway , ) What followed Cedar court should hold their head in shame . A slab of white bread , then Luke warm soup came at a rate of 3 at a time there was 40 of us , it was horrible . We complained obviously, then after a while the main course arrived they did actually bring in a few extra staff , some of the worst insipid main course I’ve ever been served at a restaurant , rubber tasteless chicken , undercooked parsnip , bland small potatoes, watery gravy horrible , the desert was ok just . When we complained again nobody seemed bothered at all . Extremely disappointed with the service and food quality.
Although the hotel is undergoing refurbishment, this didn't affect our stay. I assume the room we had was an upgraded one which was excellent. Dinner in Amber's was excellent. Gary and his team were very attentive and the food was very good.
Pulling into the car park, we were impressed with the grandeur of the hotel, full of promise. With no one at reception, we attempted to use the self service terminal until the receptionist turned up. The first room offered was so depressing that had I not managed to get it changed, I would have turned around and left. Why do half empty hotels offer guests the worst room when better ones at the same rate are available? Don't they want you to return? The next room was much better, recently modernised, but with a lumpy mattress and worn sheets. Unfortunately, you don't find these things out until you get into bed. The reception, restaurant and lounge area are impressive, the staff are friendly and helpful, and dinner was very good. Rooms are not cleaned and items replenished unless requested. The easy 10-minute walk into the town centre is probably okay if you don't have to walk in the pouring rain. With so many hotels in Harrogate vying for customers, this one won't be top of our list
Lovely Hotel based across from the main Harrogate Stray. Professional approachable staff who contribute to an enjoyable stay. Modern clean rooms offering a daily refresh for those on a longer stay and a restaurant providing excellent full English or Continental breakfast as well as lunchtime, bar and evening meals. The location is excellent for Harrogate town which is a short walking distance away.
Very pleasant and professional welcome, lovely restaurant in a very beautiful room. I was very well attended by Matteo, Eleanor, Ben and Louisa over two nights in the restaurant Amber, and served some very tasty food. My hotel room was very quiet (despite ongoing building work to be completed later in February), very clean, and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The hotel was also well located for the Yorkshire Showground, for the fabric show, and to easily walk into town. I thought it was excellent value for the money and will be returning for next year's show.
The Country Music weekend I attended with a friend was marvellous and the hotel lived up to the experience. Brilliant staff, especially Lauren, Fab, Ann, Harry and Matteo who were friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent and the atmosphere and rooms pleasant. All in all a marvellous stay and I would recommend the hotel to everyone.
5 out 5 lovely clean atmosphere , nice restaurant area great choice for breakfast. Rooms clean and tidy together with smart TV's comfortable bed and bathroom shower very clean. Warm heated room. Just a great experience with my partner for 4 nights. Highley recommended .
The hotel is absolutely fantastic well worth a visit and the staff are amazing I would like to mention Jason night manager, Callum bar staff, Larren front of house, Emily and Fabio who are servers they made the stay all the more personal and enjoyable
Lovely hotel in a Central location. The staff were friendly especially callum, he was very polite and helpful and nothing was too much trouble
Very poor service. Self check in, no welcome at reception. Restaurant over priced. Broken plug system in the bathroom, unable to use the sink the whole weekend despite reporting it. Would not recommend this hotel.
Visited as part of the British Senate weekend. Enjoyed the visit and the room was clean and tidy. Roisin & Woody were brilliant on the night and looked after us. Great customer service.
We were staying here with a large group (over 100) and we all agreed that this was a good comfy hotel and perfect for our event which ran for a few days. Areas of the hotel have been upgraded through refurbishment, our bedroom hadn’t been refurbished but it was clean, bed comfy and still in good condition. Staff were all super friendly and very helpful - again apologies for setting the fire alarm off 🙈! Huge shout out to Woody for his serving and drink pouring, and a very special shout out to Roisin - amazingly friendly, calm under pressure, willing to go the extra mile, a true credit to the hotel indeed! Thank you we all at table 10 were speaking about how nice you were! Would gladly stay here again.
Stayed 2 nights at Cedar Court Hotel for a weekend event with approx 120 people/friends from an international organisation I’m a member of. Lovely hotel with great staff and the food at our gala dinner was faultless, every course was delicious and the serving staff looked after us so well. Special mention for Roisin who looked after our table on the Saturday evening and she was back on duty Sunday morning bright and breezy still smiling. The night manager Jason also made sure we were all looked after for late drinks. Harrogate is a beautiful place to visit, my first time but definitely would like to return. 😊
Really well looked after, Mateo recognised us and was excellent, Paloma and Pablo also very attentive, food very good.
Iqrah and sez were little super stars. Great service. If you visit here for food service is top notch. Love rhst they bring their personality to work.
Let’s start with the positives… the front of house team were terrific and I would single out the barman (Sat 3 Jan) and all the evening waiters and waitresses that we encountered each evening. The evening meals were tasty, sizeable and good value and would gladly eat there again. Car park large, reasonably priced and hotel not far from the town centre so all a bonus. The public area seating was plentiful, clean, well maintained, comfortable, warm and inviting. There are so many positives but oh dear. I booked a superior room, not really sure that I got one. Travelodge probably have bigger better rooms. Should have commented on arrival rather than departure but hey ho! Room servicing was poor. Bed not made up first morning, tea/ coffee/biscuits not replenished. Second day OK. Third day, cups not properly cleaned, bathroom not properly cleaned and tidied and carpet not properly cleaned. Breakfast was disappointing. Food was tepid first two mornings. Third day cooked to order. Arrived so cold, in my view, that I had to send it back. I noticed the adjacent table followed my lead. This review written prior to departure but all of the above will be brought to the attention of reception prior to my departure.
Stayed at this hotel for the second time - so lovely! Great bar, nice rooms & prime location. Car park just outside of the hotel, 15 minute walk into Harrogate
We spent a couple of nights at Cedar Court in Harrogate for a family gathering. We had a very comfortable, clean and spacious bedroom. We ate a really good breakfast in the restaurant with a great choice of food both hot and cold. We also had dinner there on both nights. The second night we had booked a table for 2 but after we sat down other family members unexpectedly asked to join us making 9 in all. Gary quickly rearranged the tables without any fuss and served us our meals, all of which were extremely good . Thank you Gary you did all of this with a smile and made the evening a very pleasant and enjoyable experience.
Artived a little early for check in as had an email from the hotel at 9sm saying our room was ready and asked us to check in. No one at reception was a button to press to speak to staff member so pressed that and patiently waited after waiting another 10 mins bar man came over now 4 couples waiting and said he was trying to find receptionist and said unfortunately he couldn’t check us in. After another 5 mins he offered us a drink while we waited he was clearly embarrassed about the situation. 20 minutes later receptionist turned up no apology for being absent was surly and not welcoming at all clearly stressed about something but that should not be passed to guests not a good start. We had upgraded to deluxe double certainty nothing deluxe about it small double bed and dated in need of renovation - cracked sink in bathroom mouldy grout and just felt grubby. Positives- bed was comfy and bar staff very friendly and helpful
We went for afternoon tea. The food was delicious. The service was excellent and our waiter Gary was very friendly, helpful, particularly accommodating our dietary requirements and was very professional. My only very minor comment for improvement would be that the tea was a little strong - perhaps 1 teabag is enough or provide additional hot water!
Fantastic Sunday breakfast with friend. Good food and excellent service from Pablo. We will be returning for afternoon tea in the New Year! Thank you so much for a truly enjoyable experience.
Our second stay at the Cedar Lodge which was as enjoyable as the first. Pleasant staff, comfortable environment, rooms very nice, only criticism is the pillow which was not great. I would definitely return though.
We had a lovely two night stay in a classic room. The Ambers restaurant was exceptional Callum & Paloma were attentive and obliging making our evening meal a night to remember. We would definitely stay here again.
Absolutely lovely 2 night break. Beautiful spacious room & smart bathroom, staff were very very nice and helpful . Evening meal was exceptionally good! Was trip for birthday and they made it special. Couldn't fault this beautiful hotel
Very friendly and laid back hotel in an excellent location especially for the dogs. 🐶 🐶 My 3rd visit and I will be back. Merry Christmas and a prosperous new year to all the very helpful staff.
Absolutely FABULOUS stay. Everything was perfect. The room, the breakfast, the food in the restaurant was second to none and most importantly .... congratulations to who ever hires the staff!!! EVERY member of staff we encountered were wonderful and a total credit to the hotel, especially Roisin, Gary and Hanna. I travel quite extensively and have never experienced such complete satisfaction from any other vacation and as a result will definitely be returning as soon as possible.
My first visit . What an exceptional stay from start to finish. Staff brilliant and welcoming. Special mention to Harry&fFabio and Callum in the bar. Friendly and informative. Rooms clean and well serviced. Restaurant exceptional!!! Stayed via Great Little Breaks fantastic package with RHS tickets included. Visited Mother Shipton caves … Magical experience. Will be visiting again next year. Could not fault anything. Drove up to the most impressive building.
Had an incredible experience at my company Christmas party in The Imaginarium at Ambers. Pagi was exceptional at arranged all the finer details and on the evening Gary went above and beyond to make the night memorable, even getting involved in our Instagram reel! Would highly recommend booking this for any celebration, higher quality food, perfect atmosphere and parking included!
Went to eat in the Amber Restaurant. Had the Xmas set menu, all enjoyed sea bass and the Xmas pudding delice was unusual and delicious. Eleanor in the restaurant was great.
Beautiful restaurant. Visited with 4 friends for a Xmas meal and catch-up. Our lovely italian waiter looked after us from the moment we arrived, serving us complimentary prosecco. Food was well presented, great value ans delicious. The meal was well -paced and we were there from 3- 7.30!
Really good atmosphere and food. Really enjoyed the atmosphere- also matteo was great! Good value Christmas menu - each of the courses was great
