Great hotel, huge room and really comfy beds. The kids loved the jacuzzi! Really good breakfast too.

I like it all but I do think for the price the room we were in needed some attention and I booked a themed room it was nice but just not worth the money. Looked tired and old. It was a pink room

Very spacious room with comfy beds and Jacuzzi bath. Hotel is in the centre of town so ideal for exploring the city. The breakfast was extensive and of good quality and the staff in the restaurant were very polite friendly and helpful.

Little more attention to detail - room had a slightly damaged sink and different colour lights - (There are only 3 colours warm white3000K, cool white4000k and daylight6000k ------ warm white in the bedroom, cool white in bathroom simples

Beautiful decorated room, extremely comfy bed.

Would have expected water and fridge in room considering the cost. TV remote was tempermental.

Very close to Liverpool Lime Street. Went for the football and was only 10 mins by taxi to the stadium. Lobby area is lovely and rooms are massive.

Tv signal didn’t work in my room but I didn’t really watch tv anyway but just something to note in case you enjoy watching tv in a hotel

Huge jacuzzi in the bathroom but couldn’t close the bathroom door if the toilet seat was down. I think the toilet is squeezed in because of the jacuzzi which was very hard to get out of after having a shower. It’s unnecessary and I would’ve preferred a normal shower or bath.

The staff were nice very helpful and deserved a 5 out of 5 The breakfast was better than average with all our needs catered for

the room was dirty with hairs found in the bed, floors didn't look mopped, found toe nail clippings in the bathroom. the noise from the traffic was very load and at one point we thought the window was open (it wasn't), the room should have had better glazing. from 1pm the smoke alarm was flashing green which was lighting up the room no point calling reception as nothing they could do at 1pm, just had to put up with it. had some drinks on the roof top bar in the afternoon, the stairs on from the 4th - 5th floor was noticeably dirty and the toilets for the roof top bar were dirty with what looked like the remains of a party from the previous night.

My room was awful, disabled bathroom, nowhere to boil kettle due to no plugs other than 2, booked a room with 4 beds we got 1 double and 2 singles, behind my bed was crisps all over the floor, room decor was shabby. They also deduct £200 from your bank card when you check in

Very old and dated. Not worth the money at all. Air conditioning was broken in the room. Shower nozzle was loose and the toilet flush was loose.

We didn’t get to sleep until after 4am. Loud knocking on room doors. Massive argument in the hall by women and men in the corridor. Staff did nothing about it. When I explained we hadn’t slept, they refused to do anything for us including allowing us an extra hour to get ourselves together before checkout. A resounding no. Told me I had agreed to loud noises when I signed the form upon check in. Not like I had any other choice after travelling to get there and no option but to pay for the room.

I was treating 5 of my relatives for my 60th I paid £345 at the desk I think £50 each on top , to cover any damage is terrible that's £645 I had to pay That's why I will not visit again

Great price for a group staying for one night. Convenient location, parking, kitchen area.

Rooms were dated, tired and in need of refurbishment. Several items of furniture and fixtures were damaged, old and worn, and the beds were uncomfortable. The room was also not particularly clean. The shower gel and shampoo provided had an unpleasant smell, and the flooring was loose in places, creating a genuine trip hazard. Unfortunately, the issues continued after our stay. The hotel retained £50 of our deposit without notifying us, alleging that bedding had been damaged. This is something we strongly dispute. None of our group smoke, and we were not made aware of any damage during our stay or at check-out. I contacted the hotel to request evidence and an invoice to support the charge, but they failed to provide either. Despite taking money from my deposit, they have been unable to provide me with photographic evidence, an invoice, or any notification regarding the alleged damage. Overall, I found the hotel’s handling of the deposit issue particularly disappointing and unreasonable. Based on both the condition of the room and the way this matter has been dealt with afterwards, I would not stay here again.

We arrived after a long journey with 3 children at 11 pm I had my bag stolen with my identification in whilst travelling down in a petrol station on arriving at the reception desk to check in the receptionist refused us access due to no identification leaving a 4 3 and year old out a place to stay i begged her to waver the rules off needed identification based on the fact i was travelling with children after trying other hotels for a reservation being refused i want back pleading as it was now 1.30 in the morning The children were scared cold crying i had already paid for the room and ended up sleepung in my car as the we needed to continue our journey the next day

Friendly staff. Quirky decor.

Underground carpark gave a poor first impression e.g smelly, litter, discarded sink. The room was a little worn e.g. peeling wallpaper, peeling and moving floor boards, damaged furniture. Large numbers of group parties exposing us to shouting, swearing, drunkenness. Perhaps not the best hotel for a family. Against a busy road so a poor nights sleep due to sirens, road noise, etc.

All the staff were excellent, especially Sue, amazing woman and service on point.

The room wasn't cleaned during our stay, but asked for fresh towels and got them.

No full length mirror 😭 this is a must in a hotel and defo in a liverpool one ! we was in a double with spa bath may just be these room types but was annoying on a night out ! and not enough sockets not one near the wall mirror or a bin in the room other than tiny bathroom one.! The shower design is odd soaks the bathroom as no shower curtain or handheld shower so take a shower cap ladies if You want a quick shower when it's not hair wash day! The £50 deposit per person per room is odd never had that paid in full on arrival for our room but they wanted another £100 yep you do get it back but it's not instant and also some people dont just have £100 spare for the bank to take hold ! Agree a deposit is needed in a hotel that takes in alot of stags and hens but per person is alot to take more so if in a big room sharing aswell! Staff friendly and hotel clean a has some great photo spots and fab location.

Had to pay for the stay then pay the £50 deposit for damages etc when arrived and not having that back for another 10 days, we stayed in january this year and did t have to pay the deposit will not be booking again

Just the whole experience.. was fantastic... We where a party of 4... 2 adults 2 kids and the kids loved it... Especially the Jacuzzi bath.... The hotel is gorgeous and staff so lovely...

That there was no shower... And also when I lifted my bottle of water off the table in the room .. a set of false eyelashes was stuck to the bottom of it and they weren't ours as we don't use them...

We stayed for my mums hen do ok a Thursday we booked in advanced we asked could we have the pink room they said they didn’t know till on the day witch I don’t understand we got there and got put in a navy blue room witch was clearly outdated with minty skirten boards the floor was a disgrace everything was ruined in there we had paid someone to come and do a balloon set up in the room so we couldn’t even ask to be moved

No plug or USB sockets near the bed only ONE SOCKET in the whole room far from the bed...Bathroom window screwed shut, TV not working staff came up twice to try to sort it, wardrobe rickety & chipped, floor not mopped, bathroom door handle almost hanging off, pillows hard & flat, kettle in wardrobe but had to plug it in on the floor at the only socket, NO COLD WATER in the bath taps it's hot only....just wrong from start to finish. Staff were not bothered about the inconvenience either....birthday treat waste of money. Receptionist uptight without a smile or welcoming manner.

Staff were absolutely lovely, great atmosphere in the hotel. And convenient parking.

The stairs to the carpark were locked and our toilet wouldn’t flush properly in the bedroom.

It was out fourth time to stay in the shankley and we have always enjoyed our stay from the booking in where the staff were so pleasant the young lady that booked us in it was her first day so she was a bit nervous but the rest of the staff were really nice with her explaining what she had to do we went to our room where we found it clean pleasant and comfortable the same as every other stay we have had we booked breakfast for the two morning and it was lovely so much choice and plenty to eat and the staff that served us were so happy and chatty the one lady was sue I can't remember the other names but they were all so helpful asking us what our plans were for the day and they were always smiling we will definitely be staying again I also recommend the hotel to a friend and they stayed last weekend and enjoyed the stay and the breakfast just as much as we did

The staff are the reason this hotel is so great. Even my kids commented on how kind the women were serving breakfast and asking about our trip . I didn't catch their names sadly but honestly more than kind and attentive. The reception also put out chocolates in our room and a happy birthday card for my son . Its the little things that make your trip more rememberable.

Room in need of some up-keeping, looking very tired and tatty. More furniture/surfaces to put things on and hooks in the bathroom.

The parking was a nightmare, the staff were rude and very unhelpful.. The room was ok but wasn't worrh the money, this was the last trip i will ever get with my mother so wanted it to be perfect, they sent an email saying after 1st septemeber we would need photo id to check in, we went before this date, they were extremly unhelpful and rude and point blank said we couldnt stay and wouldn't refund the money as we hadn't checked in, even tho they wouldn't let me , i had the email and debitcard it was booked in on but atill refused us ... I was in tears and my 84yr old mum was just left standing about .. Then the manager took my 84yr old mothers bus pass as id 🙄 Not everyone has photo id and when i explained i didnt have any they just rolled their eyes !! I got locked in the over night car park and was just told to try all the doors, no one came to get me or send anyone to help!! The staff are in desprate need of some training in customer service !! will never go here again !!

For a room that cost £322 a night I’d expect breakfast thrown in as part of the price and given it was a themed room, there was nothing special or themed about it. Just a standard extra large room. Car park pretty horrendous, bit dark and hard to navigate as a driver and as a pedestrian when looking for the hotel, well for a first timer anyway, but plenty of spaces, be sure to pull in (which will be on wrong side of road) and take a left turn and not right as you’d expect. Was £15 for 24hr.
