Location
No air-conditioning in the room.
The dining room could do with decorating. The seating is ripped and worn, the wallpaper is coming off and bubbling next to bar
The reception area was clean
I only booked this hotel to use the pool. I didn't notice it was only open til 6pm. I got there before 6 but was told I couldn't use it as last entry was 4.30pm. this was not mentioned anywhere when I made the booking. The TV in my room didn't work (poor signal), the carpet was stained, the hairdryer only blew cold air. The TV remote didn't have working batteries, not that I needed it after I discovered the TV didn't work. The mattress was so soft it must have been so old. I would never recommend this hotel. I have a local Doubletree which is fabulous, so I don't know how this one is so bad.
comfy beds
room too warm and no complimentary water. Carpet in room not clean.
Location was great
All systems were down, no phone lines, no access to room service. Took ‘hold’ payment for stay on 13th August and have still not returned it despite numerous different promises.
I liked where the hotel was located as it's near the center of Liverpool which I wanted and the bed was comfy which is always good.
Nothing.
Very nice room and very spacious. Breakfast was very good. Location fantastic.
Only problem was with the toilet, which was upstair from the bedroom. That in itself wasn't a problem. The only light switch was downstairs which turned on the bathroom light and the stairs. This meant a harsh bright light during the night if anyone wanted to use the bathroom.
Good location for all of city
Needed a mirror close to a plug for hair drying
Great location. Staff friendly. Bed super comfortable and room clean and fresh.
The room and shower was nice
It did not have air con so was quite hot in a heatwave
Our room was ready earlier than expected which was a bonus
Very warm in the function rooms should have air con
Good location , nice inside, comfy bed and nice bathroom. Good air con
The outside noise was very loud at night, can hear all the music from the clubs and bars etc which made it hard to go to sleep. Can’t open windows in the room. Breakfast was £44 for two people which I think is a lot considering it’s just like every other hotels buffet breakfast , nice though.
Excellent
It was very close to the Cavern Quarter, which was where we wanted to visit. Had a mixture of old and new areas, loved the old lift and displays of olde world typewriters etc.
Nothing
Rooms are lovely and easy to get to from central station and Moorfields. Close to both.
WiFi is very slow
Staff
We found a used sanitary towel in the cupboard in the bathroom
Given a room which had recently had a water leak and had a dryer operating . Complained and was given a room for the less abled on the top floor with all the paraphernalia for the less abled. Poor.
As above
Location
No free female products - had to go to Tesco Steps to the bedroom, not given any notice of this and was with elderly mother and had lots of baggage- no offer of assistance
Nothing
Everything I requested something an afternoon before - that was not done it was only rose petals nothing major - there was no wifi the signal was crap in that room There was no sky in the room The room was soo hott The AC did not work There was nothing in the minibar Whenever is said in the description inside the room it is not there Plus There soo much more to it
Great central location for all Liverpool has to offer. Great breakfast and spa facilities! Friendly staff and comfortable bed with A/C.
Room a little dated.
Good reception service
No access to the spa when I arrived The spa is run by a separate company not part of the hotel
It’s location Lovely breakfast
Sealed windows no fresh air Air Con is great but is very dry
Comfortable room
Good central location
Rated 4 star , I would say it should be down graded to 3
Spa facilities were nice though I feel should be included in the price of the stay. Bed was comfortable
The stay was below average unfortunately. Very standard rooms for the price. Reception staff couldn’t give us a room key (due to an issue out of their control which is understandable), but this meant we didn’t get a room key until about 11pm. Up until then someone had to come and let us in. We also left some luggage behind the desk whilst waiting for our room to be ready. We then received only 2/3 of our luggage items. When we rang reception to say parts of our luggage were missing, they apologised and said they’d bring it up right away. They never appeared so my partner went down to collect it himself after half an hour, to which they tried to only give him part of the luggage (it was a tshirt and jacket on ONE hanger and the staff member unzipped the jacket which was over the tshirt and tried to only hand the jacket across??)
Staff were so helpful Food in restaurant beautiful Breakfast very nice wide selection Rooms perfect
Location good
A bit tired and shabby in places. Stuff broken in the room.
The room was lovely
we just couldn't sleep, due to the 3 portable fans and aircon units
Bed very uncomfortable
Great location to all bars and restaurants
The room we was in needed a make over no grout in the tiles on the floor bath was very worn sockets with out the fronts on. Was abit disappointing for the money charged for the room
Good location and beautiful inside
Let me down with requests for daughter’s birthday which I pre booked, no discount with car park as promised by the hotel in messages from them which were sent after I booked. No spa booked as promised by staff, no cookies available. Payment taken twice and still waiting for 1 to be returned as promised.
Location was the only thing that was good
No air conditioning and lots of noise all night long cold reception about it and wouldn't even have said it was due to the heat wave it's not due to the heat wave if you don't have the functions there they were there but all broken
Very clean and easy
Nice Building, area was quiet.
Furniture and room needed touched up. Breakfast not great.
Hotel was in a perfect location for town centre, staff really accomodating
Room was a little tired
Bed was comfy , good location
When we arrived after the check in time our room wasn’t ready we were asked to wait in the bar it cost £21 for a pint of larger and a gin and lemonade we had one and asked if the room was ready it still was not so another £21 and an hour later the room was ready , walked into a small room unpacked and my partner had a shower this flooded the bathroom floor then another guest had been given the same room key and walked into our room while we were naked I was mortified and embarrassed! They gave us a new room but I didn’t settle very well and it spoiled the trip
Location was fine not acceptable for disabled ppl 😕
No stairs , yes their were lifts to the rooms that's fine, but stairs to the breakfast area and to the seated area by the TV room
Staff were very accommodating.
We paid for use of pool and hot tub. The hot tub jets only worked on the large seat area..... No good for others sitting around the edges. Only one locker worked which is a deep concern. No bags to put costumes in afterwards.
They wanted to charge us £15 each to use the pool which is unacceptable - £20 if you aren't honours members. The other Hilton was the same price with an executive bar so why would you choose to use this one? After that the rest starts to just grate because it's simple things other hotels at the same rate just do. No one's asking for anything special. Shoeprints on the bathroom floor. Just a shower with a curtain - no bath which is more annoying due to lack of pool. There's no service lift so you're constantly waiting for staff to use the lifts with trolleys before being able to use them yourself. £15 a day to park - yet more hidden fees. The room didn't have simple things like a door sign so we couldn't communicate when the room needed doing. Room window overlooked the side of another building. Breakfast is sub-par. It's just all left out and goes stale under the heat lamps with dodgy waiting room tea and coffee on offer. Much better options in Liverpool for the price.
Lovely old building but was like a maze. Room nice and large but smelt musty. Curtains drawn to keep heat out but the room had not been aired in ages. Towels bedding and room never smelt fresh. Staff on reception not the friendliest Hotel looked clean enough just smelt bad. Rooms facilities and amenities good
Smell of room Reception staff
The bed and bedding comfy
The restaurant food was awful drinks choices very poor The staff were great though
Beautiful hotel, friendly and experienced staff.
The lighting in the bedroom by the mirror could've been better.
My room was spacious. Good storage. Excellent bathroom. Hot weather and several fans in room.
View. That was all. Room 1410.
Staff were excellent and ensured our room was cool enough for us during the heatwave. Room was lovely, clean and comfortable and nice toiletries provided in the bathroom.
Location, style, spa
No complaints about the hotel but there is an addition charge to use the spa facilities so depending on the room option you pay for it can end up quite expensive all together for just 1 night
Staff welcomed us very well
Not very clean, room smelled bad
Really beautiful old building. Breakfast was nice.
Because the building is so old, access to the room with the cases wasn’t ideal (although a member of staff did help us). No air conditioning in the room. Misguidance when they say they have a pool, children under 16 aren’t allowed to use it which was really frustrating for our children. Gym is quite small with not much in. View from the room was an alleyway showing the staff smoking area.
Very clean staff fantastic
Price off drinks
Really poor breakfast Staff not attentive at all . And a charge of £40 to use the pool is outrageous when you are a quest
Wouldn’t return not worth the money there really is nicer hotels with a great breakfast
Location
No early check in even after requesting one. Had to get changed in toilet to get to a lunchtime birthday party. Very disappointing
Had a wonderful stay with double tree hilton hotel the staff were super friendly and made us feel really comfortable during our stay. And the hot cookie on arrival was a nice little treat. Would recommend this hotel to others and we're looking forward to our next visit. 😁
Unfortunately we couldn't open our window and it was really warm in the room apart from that own room was a lovely size and clean.
I attended a wedding yesterday (1st August) and I had pre ordered a vegetarian meal; this had been confirmed to me by the man who seemed to be in charge of sorting meals for tables out multiple times from his sheet. Starter was all vegetarian so there was no issue and then as soon as it came to the mains he pointed out to not give me the meat meal and to send over the risotto. My whole table had their meals and I told them to start eating, it took 40 minutes for my meal to come out. My whole table had finished their meals and multiple other tables were being cleared and people were getting up and moving about. We asked 3 different people where the meal was and they just advised “we’ll check” and no one ever came over to say what the issue was. My meal then came after 40 minutes and it was tomato pasta and not mushroom risotto as advised. When the man brought it over he said “it’s because we weren’t aware you were a vegetarian” yet it had been confirmed multiple times prior. He was then quite rude and dismissive about the situation and there was no actual apology for it. Considering the price paid for these packages, it was very disappointing and the service was very rude throughout the wedding. We went downstairs to the bar for coffee and cokes (when the wedding bar ran out at 9pm) and they were lovely and so polite.
Wow. What a lovely hotel. The location is just right away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to walk to all the areas you need to see. The hotel staff are amazing and cant do enough for you, very polite and helpful. The room was amazing, very large size and we got upgraded as it was our anniversary and we also got a late checkout thrown in which was lovely of them. They also left a cake and a hand written happy anniversary on a plate for us. It would have been lovely but I think as we checked in late it had been out a while and was a litte hard. There was tea, coffee, and of course the cookies. There were hand and body wash, shampoo and conditioner and body lotion in the massive bathroom. The breakfast was a mix of cereals, hot English breakfast and fruits and pastries with a selection of drinks The bad points And these can be easily fixed and some were but it's the finer details. One of the taps was badly leaking of which we told staff and it was fixed immediately. The tiling grouting and siliconing could have been so much better in areas, and the bath panel was a little worse for wear. All in all a lovely hotel and we would stay here again
Nice hotel very good location Multi storey car park just over the road. Asked for early check in as we were attending a lunchtime birthday event in town. Not able to offer early check in had to get changed in toilets, very disappointing surely you can get 2 rooms ready before 13:00 hours POOR !!!
Currently staying at this superb hotel. The location is perfect for exploring Liverpool and the staff in the hotel are so professional and welcoming. The duty manager and his team go out of their way to make your stay as good as it could possibly be. Every member of this team are trained to such a high standard with your stay being their number one priority. This is not the case in other hotels across the city as we have experienced before so choose wisely when you come to Liverpool as this is a great city with amazing people. The facilities in the hotel are excellent as well. The rooms are huge with high ceilings and the shower and bath facilities in the rooms are all new and so good to use. The bath is huge to soak in as well as a large walk in shower with modern touches. The Spa is a great experience if you get chance to use it, run by a great team who look after you with all the personal touches. This again is a reflection of the way it is run by a very professional manageress and here team We got a great recommendation again from the duty manger on where to eat in the city and it was exactly as good as he described. The Italian club which is around 10 mins away from here has good food which is to die for. Yet again this matches how good the service in the hotel is, as it was run with a family feel and wonderful service. A sincere thank you to all of you for your efforts that do not go unnoticed and are a reflection of how good you all are at your jobs
Sadly, this was probably the worst Hilton I’ve stayed in, which was incredibly disappointing as this was booked as a birthday treat. I’ll start with the positives. The hotel reception staff were friendly, and once they became aware of the problems with the spa booking, they genuinely tried to help and even upgraded our room as a goodwill gesture. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough to rescue the overall experience. The spa experience was poor from start to finish. Booking it was frustrating due to incorrect contact details, unanswered calls and promised callbacks that never happened. We had specifically asked to have our treatments together but, despite initially being told this was possible, we ended up having them separately and had to change our plans in Liverpool to fit the only times they could offer. The spa itself was in a very poor state. The hydrotherapy pool area had dirty tiles with black mould around the grout, there was litter including disposable cups and water bottles left around the facilities, the changing rooms were untidy with overflowing bins and wet towels everywhere, and even the waiting area had dirty cups left behind. The steps into the pool also felt unstable and wobbly. I’ve visited many spas over the years and was also surprised that no slippers or flip-flops were provided. To top it off, the advertised 25-minute treatment lasted no more than around 19-20 minutes once you deducted the time I was left alone in the room while the therapist prepared everything. Dinner was equally disappointing. Service throughout the restaurant was painfully slow and it wasn’t just our table. Several other diners around us were visibly complaining about waiting times and poor service. My medium steak arrived well beyond well done, dry and overcooked. Our Deluxe Double Room (616) also had a strong smell of sewage coming from the bathroom, which was unpleasant throughout our stay. Breakfast the following morning was the final disappointment. The buffet was almost entirely stone cold, with the hottest items only just reaching lukewarm. For a Hilton breakfast, it fell a long way below expectations. Overall, this simply wasn’t the standard I’d expect from Hilton. Between the spa, restaurant, room and breakfast, there were too many issues for this to be dismissed as an off day. It’s such a shame because this was meant to be a relaxing birthday celebration, but instead it became a weekend of frustrations. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I also believe future guests deserve an honest account of our experience.
Great staff
Room smelled of damp
Reception was good on arrival, and we were quite late getting to room and we were too tired to complain about the leaning standard of the room. I have booked a superior room which we found to be dirty with left over fake pettles and some broken glass on and in the carpet. I delivered all this to the reception in the morning and was told I would get a call from Management. I didnt. There was also no remote for the TV....
Location
Room 620 needs upgrade not value for money Pillows that fit the bed shower door that closes and only 1 chair in the room
Location and style of hotel, breakfast was v good
Homeless person washing in the toilet near the restaurant at 7.30am after id had breakfast! Noise of air con unit was really v loud as a temp one
Staff
No air conditioning. Dirty.
Spa and Thermal facilities
Bathroom taps
We recently stayed in a superior room at the DoubleTree by Hilton Liverpool and, sadly, it was one of the most disappointing hotel stays we’ve had. The only positive aspect of our stay was the staff. They were friendly, polite and genuinely tried to help, so they deserve credit for their excellent customer service. Unfortunately, the room itself was completely unacceptable, especially considering we had paid extra for a superior room. The air conditioning wasn’t working at all, and despite being provided with six fans, the room remained unbearably hot and impossible to cool down. It made getting a good night’s sleep extremely difficult. The room also felt tired, dated and quite grotty, and was nowhere near the standard you would expect from a Hilton hotel. We paid a premium price expecting a superior experience, but the accommodation fell far below expectations. It’s a real shame because the staff did everything they could, but they simply couldn’t make up for the poor condition of the room. We left feeling extremely disappointed and would not return or recommend this hotel unless the rooms undergo significant improvement
Location was great for being in and around the city , the hotel was comfortable, staff were great . Would definitely stay again
Air con on in the breakfast room it made the food cold really quick . Also that you have to pay extra to use spa facilities .
Location
Even though you are staying at hotel you have to PAY for spa 😲
Hotel bar is a total rip off
Nice staff. Good location. Clean large room. Lovely bathroom
I chose this hotel over others even thoguh ti cost more because it had a pool. But when I arrived I discovered i had to pay more to use these facilities . Really disappointing.
The air con didn’t work in my room at all, and in the middle of a heat wave that is not acceptable, I had a fan that didn’t really help at all, and the carpet is very dated and feels dirty. And I found some of the staff very rude and very unaccomodating.
Lovely hotel very clean
Didn’t think you had to pay for the pool bit expensive for what it was .
Location ok
That swimming pool access wasn't included
Room was lovely very clean cookies on arrival are a great touch Breakfast was really good great selection would book again
Nothing
The room was fabulous in my option and the bed was very comfortable , the recaption and bar staff were all great during your visit .
Breakfast for poor in my option as we asked for poached eggs when we got into the dinning room and it was almost 15 min before the chef supplied these to our table , the female server for breakfast never said a work too anyone , not helpful no welcoming smile etc, i found the whole breakfast serves a disappointment , as for me breakfast if the last thing you see and remember during your visit . This is just my option on this .
We stayed at the double tree Hilton on Wednesday night and our experience can only be described as horrible. We checked in to a beautiful building lovely reception great staff then we got to our room. Air con was non existing and some cooling fan thing had been placed there. The fridge was warm, air con didn’t work. We went to reception explained our issue and were basically told it was tough. We requested a fan which they did do. After an evening out we returned to what can only be described as a sauna!!? The fan rotated the hot around the room and it smelt damp. There are no windows that open, it was horrific!! Possibly one of the worst nights sleet I have ever had. When we went for breakfast which I must say was very nice the bar and restaurant were very well air conditioned!!!! As we checked out and were not asked how our stay was I raised the issue to be told the air con was down!! We book our hotels with air con due to my wife’s condition and this was simply not on. They knew the air con was an issue and down nothing about it. I over heard several other people complain and we were asked if we wanted to speak to the manager but we were on a schedule and couldn’t wait half an hour for a fob off Not happy at all. To make it worse, there is no external windows that open so it was lottery a sweat box which is a really shame as it is a lovely room.
Mükemmel
Her şey çok güzeldi
This is a luxurious hotel in the centre of Liverpool, probably the best Doubletree I've ever stayed in. The guestroom was spacious and comfortable with all necessary facilities, and the dining room was a touch above others at this price level.
Amazing building.
The room was advertised with air conditioning, this did not work. No windows to open it was like a sauna worse nights sleep we’ve ever had. Ruined our next day as we were exhausted.
Excellent location, comfortable room and good service. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was good too. The next time that I am visiting Liverpool then I will stay at this hotel again. Thank you to all the staff.
The team are amazing
Nothing. It was a lovely stay
Good location for city. zgood breakfast
v noisy .wedding on.our floor which we were not nade aware of
Clean and great location
We were extremely disappointed to find that the air conditioning system is not fit for purpose and unable to manage the environment. The hotel is fully aware of the system limitations as a plastic electric fan is placed in the room prior to arrival. If you AI reviews this is a common theme. We have reported to matter to the hotel who advised that if we would of mentioned this at the time an alternative room could of been arranged. However we did not return from our evening until very late and the last thing on out minds after a few drinks would have been the decanting of all out belongings. I have escalated the matter to Trading Standards.
Stayed at the doubletree in June and myself and my husband were very impressed. Hotel rooms were very clean and bed very comfortable. Conny checked us in and was very helpful. Spa was beautiful and very relaxing, Lexi on the spa reception very welcoming. My husband had treatment with Jane and I had treatments with Layla - we both loved our treatments, both therapists were great and very knowledgeable. We can not wait to come back - recommend booking spa treatments and using the facilities if you come here!
Lovely property, good location, comfy beds, spacious room & excellent breakfast. Sadly we did have a few cons: we had a few things that didn’t work in our room - air conditioning (We did have a small fan but it was too noisy at nighttime, windows did not open) The TV remote, we couldn’t watch TV. The lamp didn’t work - it was too bright with the ceiling lights on and not bright enough with only a reading light on. We only stayed for one night and as I had already been back to reception as our room key didn’t work, I did not have the time to keep going back to reception to report each issue. We just made the best of it.
Lovely property Excellent breakfast Comfy beds
Unable to open window, fan was provided but noisy
Really comfortable bed. super clean room. Warm cookie on arrival was a lovely treat. Good selection at breakfast buffet
Entrance outside should be more brightly lit at night. Side street is quite dark later on, didn't feel overly safe
Good location and lovely interior
Room was a bit dated and very hot even with air con and fans
The staff are a total credit to the business nothing was to much trouble..i was made to feel so welcome and id definately stay again..
Na
Is in a brilliant location and rooms were of a very good and spacious size.
Our trip subsequently fell part way through a UK heatwave our rooms air con wasn’t working and a small stand alone unit was already in the room but failed to pre-warn us but this was also not working, we spoke with reception and explained the issue they asked for us to wait in the lobby whilst the Manager looked into the issue at which point it was decided to move our rooms, again air con not working and this room had 2 stand alone units in, these were pretty noisy and we needed to fill them up with water twice. It basically took 1hr 20mins to check in, this was an awful stay and £280 for the night is disgusting.
Staff great, location good, breakfast good.
The room was tacky/ needing attention. Considering the price i paid for this, for the same cost ive stayed in lovely accommodation. This wasnt. Also the air-conditioning was on but wasnt working. Following a hot spell I was.looking forward to a cool room. The dining/ breakfast room was cold so it was clearly working somewhere in the building.
I would like to say thank you to the staff specially to vanessa in reception she is very nice, accommodating, helpful, approachable and friendly, it was my 50th birthday and they gave me a surprise in our room that I was so thankful and happy, i really appreciate it! we really enjoyed our stay in this hotel hopefully we come back soon. Xxx
We booked a room on the day on 27th June . When we arrived at the hotel we discovered the air con was broken on our side of the building. We later discovered this has been the case for some time . There were no opening windows and it was unbearable. They had provided two fans. We complained and we were lied to and told it had broken that afternoon and they would provide another fan . We were late for a concert so had to leave immediately. On return the room was just the same. Other guests in the hotel had their room doors propped open and were wandering around trying to get cool . We asked for a refund and wanted to leave but were told we should get money back but couldn’t guarantee how much but they couldn’t authorise and we couldn’t move because they were full and to ask the morning staff. In the morning we were told the same . I called the hotel twice trying to speak to the duty manager then I e mailed to be told it was our choice to stay so we weren’t eligible for a refund. Please look back at previous reviews and you will see a pattern here . It’s a franchise hotel and they are clearly prepped to handle people complaining and are clearly ripping people off not providing adequate conditions . You have been warned
Great location
Very run down. Tap broken. Poor lighting. No water in fridge. No black out curtains. Stairs to bathroom a nightmare!! Very tatty. Bed uncomfortable
Walking distance
Air con broken in room. Told all rooms have fans ( lie) Pay for parking. Not on website clearly Pay for spa! Not on website clearly and was broken!! So most things really!
Location good. Hotel very run down. Need an update. For over £200 for a mid week stay I’d say too much. No drinks in fridge. Shower door didn’t close. Bath tap loose. Poor lighting. Spiral steps up to bathroom not great. No black out curtains so light shining through at the crack of dawn. Bed not very comfortable. Will not be recommending this hotel and certainly not staying again!!
Location, staff , the cookies on arrival, very comfortable bed 👌
Convenient and clean.
Accessible bathroom? Shower tray was dangerous - very slippery. Wash hand basin tap was very unpredictable - sometimes low sometimes high pressure flooding the floor making it slippery and dangerous. Cooked breakfast and croissants were both very poor.
Excellent hotel , staff so friendly and the room was excellent, so clean . Definitely stay again 5*
So nice and exciting
Everything was wonderful on that hotel
