The room was lovely and situated brilliantly for me as i I don't walk very well. The view from the patio was outstanding watching the golfers doing part of their round. Can't wait to go back again in the summer when we can sit outside the room on the huge patio. The only thing i can fault it on was the dated furniture which had a few scratches here and there and some stains. We have already booked again for another 2 visits. Also the food in the restaurant wasn't brilliant but maybe we just chose the wrong dishes as the lady next to us had fish and chips and that looked lovely.
Breakfast was lovely and plenty of choice bed comfortable lovely setting
.
Always very good
Clean room, good breakfast, helpful staff.
Plenty of parking. Very quiet setting, but this is what I wanted. Staff there if needed but not overbearing. I was on my own and felt comfortable throughout my stay. Cannot fault the cleanliness of the room even if a little out dated.
Good place to stay. Not in town but has restaurant and bar. Big room. Would definitely stay again
Clean rooms, lovely setting, fabulous friendly staff. Resturant was lovely, had an evening meal and breakfast
we enjoyed our stay and found the staff very helpful. Lovely comfortable and clean rooms. parking great and a lovely breakfast
The hotel is a bit dated. The room was a good size but smelt badly of damp. The bathroom was the worst, the ceiling had mould on it which there had been an attempt to paint over but this doesn’t solve the problem of it needing to be treated. As it was downstairs I didn’t feel comfortable having the window open overnight. I did report this on checking out.
The hotel was a bit tired.
Tired
This is a very nice hotel and the staff are lovely and helpful. I think the bathrooms need upgrading. The hot tap is either off or scalding and you have to ask for a non slip bath mat if you want a shower. You don't know this until you are in your room or in the shower. Not helpful at all. The rooms (room 22) are a great size with plenty of room to put your things. Tea tray and kettle for drinks. We had a nice garden view so it was lovely and quiet. There was fan or aircon in the room so it was very hot for me. Nice for an overnight stay. Don't think I would manage a few days to be honest.
Nice quiet hotel , friendly staff, rooms a little dated but ok
Lovely stay as always
Booked the suite, bed was huge and very comfortable, we had our own patio to sit out which had fantastic views, breakfast was buffet and had more than we expected. Have already booked again
Just a sound place to stay. Staff are friendly:-)
We recently stayed at the Garstang Golf and Country Hotel and had the pleasure of booking the Wyre Suite – and what a treat it was! The room was spacious, well-appointed, and truly majestic, with its own private terrace offering beautiful views across the golf course. It was the perfect spot to unwind and take in the peaceful surroundings. The bathroom was a real highlight – absolutely vast, with a luxurious walk-in shower featuring a rainfall head and an impressively large handcrafted stone bath that added a real touch of indulgence. While the food menu leaned towards the generic side, the service was prompt, and every member of staff we encountered was friendly, helpful, and genuinely keen to make our stay comfortable. Breakfast was self-serve, which worked perfectly for early tee times, offering a range of options that suited golfers and non-golfers alike. Tip: Book directly with the hotel for the best rates – they’ll do their best to match prices, and it’s worth it for the personal service. A great escape with serene views, excellent facilities, and a warm welcome – we'll definitely be back
We always enjoy our stay here. The bedrooms could do with refurbishment but it is clean, staff are very friendly. The evening meal although limited was excellent special mention to the chef everything including breakfast was very good. Also special mention to the gardener the flower beds and grounds are beautifully kept. Very reasonably priced hotel.
this is my 7-8th stay and the hotel was its normal comfortable self with friendly down to earth staffing and clean environment. The only down side was the room was hot and hard to cool down. The single beds worked for us but were quite soft and because i am tall, short... might be worth having some "bed stretch" devices? I was impressed by the bright and colourful ornamental planting - well done! I once again offer my services as a golf course agronomist consultant if you are interested in optimising maintenance and quality of playing surfaces and performance testing?
Nice hotel,with good facilities
We really liked the property, unfortunately it was let down by not having adequate ventilation or air conditioning. It was a very hot day and our room had heated up by the afternoon sun which remained all night.
Everyone very nice, surroundings very pleasant and quiet
A great location, friendly and attentive team. Room furniture is dated but functional.
We thought the cost of our stay was dear because, although the hotel was clean and the bedroom was ok, we felt the building was rather “tired” and needed refurbishment. The menu in the evening was limited so we ate elsewhere. However we found the staff friendly and efficient.
Room was clean and comfortable.
Comfortable room, quiet setting, ok breakfast.
Great location for our quick visit whilst traveling through, great safe area and relatively quiet spot.
Lovely stay, good staff and very comfortable.
Great location, very comfortable, nice setting
Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The furniture is dated but the bed was really comfortable. The bathroom was very clean had most things we needed and white fluffy towels. The hotel has a golf club with parking and a bar/bistro so no need to go far for a night stay.
The hotel is beginning to look tired. Broken shower mixer but still worked. Rooms too hot.
Nice hotel
A relaxing stay in a very peaceful location, handy for the surrounding area and coast. Nice hotel tho it could do with some updating. Bedroom furniture is old and dated, no USB sockets and in our room (18) the washbasin had a major crack in it, thankfully it didn’t leak. There was one comfy chair, but as a retired couple a second would have been nice rather than one sitting on the desk chair or the bed. Food was ok, we had fish and chips the first evening, I had to ask for the mushy peas to be heated as they were cold, the fish, while a good size was extremely greasy. Breakfast was fine as was dinner on our second evening. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Good value, comfortable, quiet
Beds were uncomfortable and the sheets for one were damp. Parking not great for blue badge holders
Was a decent place to stay. Good food and good service. Staff were very good..good location.. No football on television..pity, but still enjoyable
Nice Hotel, particularly if you are a golfer.
Very nice hotel in a beautiful environment. The only thing is the noise from upstairs guest’s walking on floor.
Stayed overnight before going to a wedding in the area the next day. Hotel perfect Breakfast good. Staff really friendly. Would definitely stay again
Perfect retreat under difficult circumstances. Great for motorway access too. Staff great and friendly.
Lovely hotel set in really pretty grounds. I would recommend that if you can you request a room on the second floor . We were on the ground floor and had to suffer the people above us jumping up and down from 6 until 8.15 am on a Sunday morning. Not the hotels fault at all just inconsiderate guests
We were in room 6 and unfortunately the room above ours had creaky floor and the occupants started walking around at 6 am very very noisy and inconsiderate. Sound proofing would be good.
Nice and quiet with lovely breakfast.
Not a bad hotel but custome service and staff not great
Very clean and comfortable Nice quiet area Evening meals were nice
Nice friendly staff, clean room, great experience.
Very good service
Everything I needed for a visit to Garstang. The garden room was simple but comfortable, and birds were singing in the morning. Breakfast was lovely, especially the fresh eggs and fresh local milk. It’s not ultra modern but it’s clean, quiet and friendly.
Really nice place very comfortable and friendly
Absolutely awful
Really nice venue to stay, nice and quiet.
Great breakfast, value for money. Staff great.
Quiet hotel not many guests on a Thursday night much busier Friday, lovely setting but a little dated
Very tired property with stale 1980s decor and terrible lighting. Bed was comfy, staff are reasonably friendly. Short distance into Garstang is a bonus. OK for a cheap overnight but would want to stay any period of time.
Lovely friendly staff. Room clean, a little dated but couldn’t knock it for the price.
Excellent food & service Decor & condition, tired
Helpful staff allowed us to wash our bikes and store them securely. Good evening meal and breakfast provided. Rooms were spacious and comfortable
Good food and very pleasant and friendly staff. Lovely location, only downside are the rooms are a bit dated and tired.although very clean.
On the outskirts of Garstang, built from local stone, nice large room.
Beautiful well maintained property with friendly staff. We booked an early check in for 1200. Having arrived at the hotel at 1100 a member of staff came and found us in the bar at 1120 to let us know they had got the room ready even earlier. It felt like the staff were willing to do those extra little things to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. It was gratefully appreciated, thank you.
Excellent and well maintained clean and tidy Would recommend
If you like a clean hotel, then this isn’t the place for you. Restaurant was filthy, under the table didn’t look like it had seen a hoover in weeks, restaurant window full of cobwebs on the inside. The picture of the radiator is what we were sat next to- god knows how long that’s been on there. Evening meal was foul, i didn’t eat mine, full plate went back minus x3 small Camembert wedges. Waitress didn’t even question the full dish being taken away. Hotel room was suppose to be a garden view… yes very slightly but more a car park view id say. The room smelt awful, no air con, dirty carpet, all furniture chipped, bathroom floor tiles black in between the grout. Breakfast quality poor, sausages inedible… plates, cups, cutlery in need of a good wash. I know the hotel is 3 stars but the basic cleanliness should be done.
Excellent in every way
Good hotel as always. We are regular visitors on our way to and from Edinburgh. The staff are always friendly, evening meal was very good as was breakfast.
Nice hotel; good sized bed and room. However room was very warm with no fan/air con facility. Slept with the window open instead and was disturbed by work outside in the morning banging noises etc. Bathroom fan also quite thick with dust; likely neglected on quick room sweeps
Very impressed with the grounds, hotel and staff.
Hidden gem, we reallly enjoyed our stay.
We look forward to our stay at Garstang on our journey to and from Scotland. This hotel may need some updating but the staff more than make up for this. We had dinner and breakfast and were very happy with the quality of the food and the price. The service is always excellent and a very well run dining room. Our room was on the first floor overlooking the golf course and garden which were both well looked after. The bed was comfortable and the room very quiet. Excellent value for money.
What a lovely hidden gem, when were visit Lancaster again, we will definitely stay here again.
Always stay there when visiting friends and family. Greg hotel super staff and food first class.Laura,Paula.Scott and Chris excellent.
Great location, quiet and friendly with good bar and restaurant
Just a 1 nighter this time but excellent, as usual. Although not the hotels fault, there was a great deal of rowdy noise during the night.
Friendly welcoming staff, good Lancashire food, clean and tidy, if a little worn
It could do with a change of menu.
Stayed here several times and we are very happy. Food in the restaurant is always excellent and the rooms are spacious and very clean. Great to have a bath as well as shower!
Quick overnight stop
When arrived. All looked well. No one o reception to greet so had to goblooking for staff in the bar area. Went to room which at first glance seemed ok. Bit tired but alright. Got back to the room after being out for tea. Just about to get settled down for the night only bed be met with a bug of some description on my bed. Looked further only to find another few of said bugs on the carpet. After using Google these said bugs looked like carpet beatles. Tried to phone down to reception but no answer so yet again had to go hunting for staff. We got an appology and moved rooms. The second room was not much better. Wripped bed sheet. Hair on bed sheets Cobwebs in corners of room Stuff under the bed. At this point it was a case of turn the light off and try to get some sleep. Which didnt happen due to wondering if anything was going to crawl onto my bed. Spoke with mamangment in the morning who checked the room with the bugs but said he couldnt see anything. Thank goodness i tain photos. He has authorised a refund but we will def not be re booking to stay again Also when we were leaving the said room with the bugs was getting made up for in coming guests. It should have been in my opinion shut untill further notice.
Comfortable stay for 1 night
A delightful Golf Club with rooms . Great for a stopover . Nice friendly service. Pleasant bar for meals till 8:30 pm. Full cooked breakfast was excellent ( no fresh fruit though). Great value , comfortable room very clean , ok the furniture is dated but fully serviceable. Will be back for next trip South or North.
the room is spacious and comfortable with room to work and stretch out. the decoration was a little worn but everything worked well enough and the shower was good for tall people like me. food was good at breakfast with plenty of choice although I would have liked a pot of tea not self service to a mug. I would also have liked sugar free muesli ideally. dinner choice was good although quantity was a little light for a guy who had been out working all day (though I am a big guy). i was in the hotel three nights and slept well. Staff were pleasant and helpful and managed to keep me in the same room for three nights when I had had to make two bookings to stay there three nights. I will return. Price was very good and agreeable and location worked well for me. One last point the postcode does not take you to the hotel and will lead you a merry dance down a farm track and over a canal etc... find it on google maps or what 3 words first!!
Easy and close for parking. Quiet area.no road noise. Staff polite and helpful. Massive bed.
I WENT, AND MY WIFE AND I HAD AN AMAZING TIME. IT WAS VERY COMFORTABLE, NICE AND SWEET. THE STAFF WERE VERY NICE AND FRIENDLY WE HOPE TO GO BACK ONE DAY
2 night stay to visit relatives. Staff are friendly and helpful, we enjoyed breakfast which offered a good spread of cooked and continental choices. We also had evening meal which was reasonably priced and tasty. The building is dating a little now, and while everywhere was warm, clean and tidy, our room did smell a little damp. Overall, it was offered at a discount and it served our purpose so we were happy enough.
Just a 1 night stay but overall excellent, as usual. One slight gripe though and that is, could the menu be changed occasionally please? that isn't a complaint about the food because it is very good but a simple observation.
Great stopover from Hants to Scotland. Broke up a journey stopping just North off chaos and leaving a casual drive the next morning! Huge car park, welcoming staff, great evening meal. Comfy room, warm and all essentials available, including excellent WiFi in room. Would stay again.
The property was nice on the eye arriving, and also in the dining area but our room maybe lacked a bit of colour and seemed dated, in need of a make over
Friendly staff and nice room. Unfortunately for what you get, the food was over priced.
Reception, check in and dinner service were efficient but impersonal and ‘distant. Food at dinner and breakfast was very good. Anywhere that serves fried bread, black pudding and crunchy nut cornflakes is ok with me. Our room was very big but lacked any kind of cosy character. The beds were bouncy but strangely too firm for me. It was spotlessly clean as was all the hotel. But why were the tired looking Christmas decorations and Christmas tree still up?
Rooms are large, the food in the restaurant is of excellent quality and good value.
We stayed overnight here to break up a journey and could not fault it. The staff were great and the food very good. Rooms a little dated, but spacious, comfortable and clean. Would definitely stay again.
Really helpful staff, food was lovely
Excellent venue. Breakfast was very good. wide choice . Stayed as seeing friends. Very comfortable bed. And good value compared to most hotels around. Stayed here several times and will be back.
Really nice hotel
I stayed one night at Garstang Country Hotel with my sister in late November in a downstairs twin room. Ample parking right next to the hotel. Our room was spacious, clean, warm and quiet with a sizeable bathroom and excellent shower, along with a superior hospitality tray. We had both an evening meal and breakfast at the hotel. There was a good selection of food and it was all very tasty. Very convenient to have these food options on site. Staff were very friendly. In looking for somewhere to stay in the Garstang area I noted that some reviews for the hotel commented on the decor being rather old fashioned and tired. I guess in some ways the decor might be considered more traditional, but I thought the hotel felt smart and was clean and tidy. Overall very happy with the hotel and would stay again.
A nice hotel with friendly and helpful staff
Excellent value, lovely staff. Huge comfy bed. Good shower. Very good breakfast. Fixtures and fittings are outdated and a bit tatty, but this is reflected in the highly reasonable price. Only thing that actually affected my comfort was the side lights in the bedroom weren't working so it was airport-bright or pitch black, nothing in between.
Amazing bargain stay. Staff were lovely, food excellent. Hotel is slightly tired but clean spacious rooms and everything you could need, even down to a usb port for charging phone. Free Wi-Fi was good. Bed was super comfy, will def return if in the area
Nice helpful staff and the public areas were fine. The room was quite dated and dull. The bathroom was clean and the bed comfy. There was a line of thick dust around the edge of the carpet - need a better hoover with up to the edge cleaning!
Fantastic hotel and amenities. Went to travel into and out of Blackpool to see the illuminations without having to stay in Blackpool
