The treatment in the spa were great, but you would expect to be able to use the Sauna, pools, etc. prior without charge!
The hotel is very tired. The fact that our room had no hot water!! After Spa treatment and covered in oils, needed a shower before a wedding, but a cold shower only made the issue worse!! And to top it all off when checking out not a penny reduction!!
Lovely location, my room was comfortable. Was only there one night when attending a wedding so not much chance to sample the facilities.
Didn’t receive a particularly warm welcome. Breakfast nothing special. Decor very mixed - bold colours and quite modern so not the country house hotel vibe I was expecting.
Everything other than the service.
Not enough staff. Staff were friendly, however service was so slow, waiting twenty minutes at the bar, as long to be approached to for evening meal, staff sat a reception wouldn’t help leaving only one member of staff to serve the entire restaurant and bar.
Location and nice big beds.
Over priced for what it offers. The gym had limited equipment with no air con. Mould in corners of shower. We paid an extra £60 to have room ready early. We had booked three rooms in total. The third room was ready early too but had to pay an extra £30 to get the key from Reception. We had to get there early as leaving for a wedding in another local hotel. The breakfast was chaos. Very narrow area for everyone to get to the hot plates and one hot drink machine. Extra charge for pancakes. Paid £660 for one night for three rooms plus an extra £90 charge to get the room keys early. Should be charging an extra £3 for pancakes.
Beautiful hotel and area
For the standard of room too expensive
Location and service
Nothing
Room, dinner, your staff, spa, location
There wasn't anything I didn't really like to be honest
Lovely location
when you enter is ok but then when go to the rooms quite run down and tired . Also check in was from 3 pm got there at 4 pm room not ready had to wait a further 20mins to get a room .
Rooms are well equipped, staff are friendly and the food is good
There was a prom on so the place was rammed with teenagers, parents, cars, but once it got going they were mainly in a function room so didn’t notice much
Beautiful location, comfortable bed , and lovely room looking over the gardens , helpful staff.
Food is expensive .
The location
The organisation was not great at all . We were given a room but the key did not work , so I went to the front desk and I found that that was not my room , my room was not ready . Eventually went back to the front desk and I’m given a 3rd room number !!
The peaceful and tranquil location with exceptional staff.
The very small complimentary toiletries
The location is superb.
All was very good.
Quiet
Rooms etc a bit dated and could do with a refresh
Fantastic hotel
Breakfast. Liked the restaurant revamp. Comfy bed, plenty or space in room.Enjoyed the novelty of being allocated a garden room.
Stayed quite a few time, always seem to suffer from mould in the bathrooms. Aside from that level of cleanliness is excellent.
The location.
Neautiful views
Phone chargers in room not working. Food and accomodation ok bit not wotth tje high price tag. Air con kept cutting out during the night so sleep was not great.
Splendid service, comfort, food. Wonderful setting on Frensham Pond

Location
Work being carried out outside room .
Akash was very helpful with all requests & needs. But to have to ask for Shampoo & Conditioner in the room was a task he could have done without. However he could not have been more helpful & friendly
We were not told ahead that there was refurbishment work going on! Dining room was very understaffed so that we waited too long for items or had to remind them what we were waiting for. With only 7 main course dishes on the menu it was disappointing to be told that one of them had run out. Beer options were very limited. Not being able to purchase and put on the room was irksome. There is a lovely area right next to the lake where you can have a drink, lots of umbrellas but no seating!!!!!
Girls is spa was very polite.
Clean, position, friendly stuff, nice rooms
Breakfast offer, food quality and menu
Peaceful countryside location
Ongoing maintenance work on the terrace
Specious room
Nothing
Car Park!
Stayed many times in the past, I had the worst and noisiest room and the food was inedible
Everything except dinner - took us an hour to get our food!
Everything except dinner - took us an hour to get our food!
Lovely view of the pond. Having breakfast outside. Bed comfortable. The staff were all friendly and courteous.
No fridge in the room even though there was clearly a space designed for it. You supplied water bottles but the water was warm. As the weather was scorching it was very disappointing. The cooked breakfast was very dry and overcooked. The eggs and sausages were hard. Although I had the granola and fresh fruit and yoghurt which was lovely. We had a ploughman’s which consisted of one small thin triangle of cheese, a thin slice of ham which had come out of a packet and a couple of crusts of bread. We asked for extra salad but there was only a few tiny leaves. It didn’t resemble any other ploughman’s we have had before and was definitely the worst ever.
The service in the hotel was exceptional from reception checkin to evening bar and waiter service. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was really good. I had the porchetta which came with excellent crispy crackling.
The breakfast was a little disappointing. We had hoped for a full English cooked to order, the hot items however on the hot plates were not as good as the evening meal, the hash browns were greasy and the fried eggs overcooked.
Great location fantastic staff a lovely vibe with the addition of a small but functional spa & gym
Nothing apart from a limited menu in my opinion others may disagree ….. it has recently been changed but I preceded the previous menu
I did not like the fact that I left a very expensive set of binoculars in my room and when we notified the Hotel they informed us that they could not be found so I have had to report it to Surrey police.
The initial reaction of the receptionist to two sweaty and tired cyclists was priceless. But then valent service for our bicycles was excellent. The room and all the food we consumed was excellent ,including the never ending breakfast ,which set us up for a good days cycling.
Highly recommend, nice hotel and lovely location
Direction for the carpark was not clear
Very comfortable room and bed.
Fantastic stay! Staff are lovely and the room and grounds are beautiful. Highly recommended
Nothing.
The reception area was nice but restaurant was not very welcoming and very expensive for what we had and the charged 10% service charge which I think was not great considering the service was poor
Well as I said it was not great reception you had to ring a bell for service staff very limited and I think it’s very tied needs an update
Lovely hotel will definitely be back
Clean and modern.
Some maintenance work in progress in the bar.
Peaceful and lovely staff
Due to construction works on the restaurant, we didn’t get to experience its full potential.
Very nice and tidy
Nothing. It was lovely
Wat men daar deed, onbegrijpelijk. Mijn man is 77.
Welcoming staff at a very nice setting . Just a stones throw away from the pond/lake . Lovely food even if we only had one evening meal and a couple of breakfasts . Nice and quiet
The service at dinner was a lot lower than we expected . We placed our order and 30 minutes later we were told that the lettuce was no good for those who had ordered salad . It then took another 5 minutes for a menu for those people to be able to re-choose . Once the meals arrived I had to wait another 10 minures to get my meal even though I did'nt change my order . Apart from the that the dining experience was good
Location
Being called the night before at 9-40 pm to see if we wanted to book a table
The location is picturesque and very calming
No staff, food and drinks service was a shambles.
The staff were very helpful and friendly The location was beautiful.had a lovely view of lake from my window Good breakfast. Ate outside as weather was superb
Location excellent
Toilets within hotel being refurbished therefore slight inconvenience to use spa toilet
De ligging
Vrij donkere kamer.
Location and room was spacious and clean
Long wait for food, slow service and margarine instead of butter
Beautiful location, large rooms , very comfortable bed , great service
Nothing
Good selection at breakfast. Comfortable bed Quiet room
Very slow bar service and bar not busy. We were unaware that a refurb was going on when we booked. No atmosphere in hotel. Bar area needs soft furnishings. Dinner disappointing. Frozen pizza bases and a very small breast of chicken in a burger with hot coleslaw?! Very disappointing.
Great size room and we'll equipped.
2 things room was vold and no instructions on how to use the heating. I was also disappointed as I paid for early check in as I needed to be at a wedding. Friends at the same wedding arrived at the hotel and ask to leave bags were told you can go to your room now arrived same time charged nothing.
Room and breakfast excellent as were staff.
The location was brilliant, the hotel was in front of the lake and the walks around the lakes were wonderful.
The thermal Spa was very disappointing. It was very small and some of the facilities were not working. Also the ventilation was poor there were not enough loungers for the users allowed in the thermal Spa.
The renovations being carried out did not cause us any inconvenience. The buffet breakfast was generous. Our room was very spacious, bed extremely comfortable and the toiletries, etc, were very good quality. The surrounding countryside was beautiful, and very peaceful.
Access to the hotel requires your own transport as nearest bus stop is a quite a distance away along a narrow winding road.
All in all good value for what you pay. I would go back if I had to visit the area.....
No real complaints...the fridge had been removed from the room.
The location is out of this world.
Location to Farnham and local walks
Only one issue was that the usb charger ports didn’t work but adapters were supplied as soon as we informed the staff.
Location
Disappointed with restaurants facilities, Work going on but unaware of it when booking Staff at bar did not fill you with confidence when ordering and paying
staff polite.
I am unclear why I should pay to be woken up at 6.45 am on a Sunday by vibration and noise of a running machine and gym. Bar had the atmosphere of a motorway cafe. Amazing potential but not a country house and not a good experience. Breakfast service very poor. Food good. Very disappointed and would never return.
Well situated and designed hotel with potential
Poorly maintained and tired . Door to fridge hangs off, ceiling stained from leaking roof hole in wall. Facilities having major building work. Understaffed and running on a shoestring. Breakfast was abysmal to the point of being laughable.
Very clean and modern
Nothing
Countryside location, pleasant grounds
Very noisy guests located in the next room, ongoing building works that were not stated in advance, only the bar restaurant was open which was tiny, and restaurant service was poor with both the starter and main being provided incorrectly. No hot buffet food options available (all hot food provided to order) so no good if you are on a tight schedule
Gorgeous setting. They are currently updating the hotel- so it wasn't perfect- but I imagine that it will be great when it's done. Lots of promise.
Signage- but mainly due to the renovations.
The property was in a peaceful location
I was unaware until arrival that the property had building work going on.
Room was very spacious with a comfy bed and a great shower. The Wi-Fi work very well, this was needed as phone signal with O2 was no existent. The breakfast was great.
Although the quality of the breakfast was fantastic, it was advertised as a buffet. This was not the case and we had to order and took a considerable amount of time. Bar / restaurant undergoing refurbishment, while it will be nice once completed; it would have been nice to know about it in advance. Bar staff member was rude and tried charging us more for the drinks compared to the advertised price in their menu. TV in our room was very out dated. Spa closes very early, would have been nice to use the facilities in the evening.
The staff were friendly and helpfull. The room was a nice size
The hotel is undergoing some refurbishment andcarea sre closef off or restricted access. The breakfast could have been better, coffee machine mot working, when mentioned to staff they said the milk is not working, no attempt to fix it.
Wonderful and friendly staff.
No real noticeable issues, although the renovations were not mentioned on booking.
Spent a night here recently and my general impression was that it was understaffed since, wherever we were i.e. reception, bar, dining room, there was never a member of staff so you could either wait or seek out. Having said that, all the staff we came into contact with were presentable, friendly and helpful. Evening and breakfast food was OK. We booked a garden room which was lovely in itself but the room temperature was cool even after setting the heating to a high temperature. The ceiling fan was expelling warm air but at a very poor rate even though we set the fan speed to high. Similarly, the bar area was quite chilly. The location and setting is fabulous and it’s beautifully quiet and, no doubt, even better in the warmer months.
Excellent reading lights. Good location and walking around the pond and surrounding area. Good breakfast. There were many good places to eat in the area and they seemed to be open every day and all day which was a bonus.
The Shower was frustrating as it leaked onto the bathroom floor and the plumbing when used in adjacent rooms was heard in our room.
