Location, cleanliness, price, parking on site, room was good too

Inconsistent water pressure and temperature in the shower, exceptionally low sink and toilet was odd in a room 2 floors up so not a wheelchair adapted room.

Room was nice. Good location- 10 mins walk to metro, or 25 mins walk to Great North Run start location. Pubs and restaurants nearby.

Lovely small hotel with very helpful and friendly staff in a great part of Newcastle. We unfortunately didn’t have dinner in the restaurant, but it smelt and looked amazing so we will definitely be back. Great to have free parking.

We went for a race and the accommodation was near the start line. It was good location for the race, staff were nice it was prefect for what we wanted

Good deep bath. Bathroom presentable and clean. Helpful staff who remember their regulars.

Clapped out bed and chairs. Dirty carpets. Wallpaper peeling away from the walls, dirty, old paint. Heating didn't work. The sausages used to he good but are now just bread. Croissants and yoghurt are advertised but never available.

Easy to find, fast check in, room as expected, close to shops and metro (I was on foot). Breakfast was surprisingly good. Single room was large enough for me to stretch and exercise. I had been confined to trains and office all day. Area pleasant

Room about adequate but the shower hardly got us wet. Look like the shower head needed a good clean.

The hotel location was perfect for Jesmond and access to the city. The area is lovely. The rooms were small but a perfect size for a base, they were clean and tidy and had what we needed. The staff were friendly and helpful and there is a good restaurant next door for dinner and more locally. We didn't take breakfast in the hotel, we went off-site to meet friends. There is limited parking, but we always found a space. It's on the corner of a lovely road and was quiet.

A bit more attention to detail required on room letting - there was a dirty cup and the main room light was not working (which we didn’t report admittedly as we used the bedside lights).

Good price for being in Jesmond

The tv didn’t work when pressing on the remote. I spoke to reception and they said there was a switch by the bed to turn it on. The shower was cold but there was a switch on the control bar that switches cold/hot. Non of these are major but being told at check in would have helped.

Good location

Whilst the bedding and towels etc were very clean and the beds were comfortable, the room was a bit grubby and could do with a deep clean. Some unhygienic rubbish left in the drawer from previous guests. The television wasn’t working either.

A friendly welcome at receptions check-in. Requested later checkout at 12 noon to enable us to run the Town Moor parkrun (walkable both directions) access with enough time to shower and self catering our own breakfast. Top floor room looking towards the church so we were able to hear the bell ringing practice from 7pm. Bus stop opposite back into the city.

The wifi was not too good and the tv in my bedroom was not connecting to Netflix

The location was my main reason for staying.

In general the carpets on main walkways are very grubby. Bed and bathroom fine, but again carpets could be improved.

Location from city

Parking is not ideal for work, but the staff always try to help you find a parking spot. Which makes up for it. Removes can differ drastically, so be prepared to have a completely different remove experience. My first visit was a room that was very spacious, but this time was like a box room. Not bad for short stay,but long term stay would be not ideal.

the room was comfortable although somewhat old fashioned and shoehorned into the roof . Kettle and hot drink facilities were good. The night staff were good and helpful.

the shower head was poorly placed and water temperature poor as it regularly went from cold to very hot on its own. Day time staff disinterested with the problem Bathroom window was either closed or fully open but nothing in between

The room was hot, and with the window open, it was noisy. The overall condition of the hotel was poor (probably no refresh for about 20 years), so worn and dirty carpets, the cushion on the bed has stains, and the carpet felt grubby in bear feet. The breakfast selection was poor, no espresso coffee option, no honey available despite offering it as an option.with the yoghurt, and very limited fruit available.

Sorry, our experience was short, in the sense we left after work from Kent and only arrived after midnight for a morning graduation, so we did not enjoy a full experience. However, the staff were welcoming and helpful and we both enjoyed the comfortable bed.

Hotel was good value - the attached restaurant was first class. Very positive reviews but still surprised it was packed on a Monday evening with a good mix of guests and non-guests making a good atmosphere. Food and service were excellent

Shower was broken so was either freezing or scolding hot. Bed springs popped through, towels were threadbare.

In a nice area

Dated, issues with electrics ALL lights in the room flickered no main ceiling light. Room was abit rough, very basic, poorly decorated and repaired, Only 2 electrical sockets. 3 star but didn’t present like it, makes the premier inn look like a 5 star. Could hear everyone walking around walls paper thin and floor boards very creaky and loud. We check in and check back out again after a couple of hours. Wouldn’t recommend.

The sheets smelt a little dusty. Not enough for me to make a big deal about it but the room and sheets smelt like it had been cleaned a long time ago and was never used; hence that dusty smell.

No lift. Being in the attic ( all the stairs). Only Indian food on the restaurant menu. No decent working fan. Not enough rooms with a walk in shower. Room was in need of refurbishment. We booked at last minute so we appreciate it was what room you had left

The location was convenient as it wasn’t too far to walk to the West Jesmond Metro station

No lift access, limited parking, little to no ventilation which made the room hot and stuffy. The double bed was smaller than any I have stayed in previously.

Kind and friendly staff, comfortable room with super comfy bed, tea making facilities, spacious bathroom. Breakfast was plentiful, perfectly cooked hot items and a good selection of continental items. Very nice dining area. Indian restaurant right next door. The hotel is well served with local buses and is located in a peaceful and leafy part of Jesmond. Thoroughly recommended - great value for money.

Great location and easy bus trips to and from town and are around hotel has plenty bars, stores and coffee shops etc. Hotel rooms are clean and very quiet considering it’s on a main road. Food is very good from breakfast range of freshly cooked hot food and cereals. If you like Indian food the restaurant is a must for what is a truly great selection of dishes.

Best western promotions of free breakfast, because when I booked 2 rooms for 4 people I checked offers and even called the hotel for the free breakfast offer and was told they couldn’t do it indefinitely. Strangely though I received a BW email before staying offering freely breakfast. So annoying

They didn’t tell me the road outside was getting resurfaced. Work men and loud digging noise all night long. Only got 2 to 3 hours sleep.

The property was very clean and comfortable the staff were extremely friendly the breakfast was lovely and plenty of choice between cereals and cooked would certainly stay there again and would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Quiet within the hotel lots of tv channels decent shower

sink not draining properly in room 6 smart tv but not connected to the internet so couldn't use apps Most things were pretty clean but there were hairs in the shower. Didn't sleep well 2 nights cause of roadworks outside hotel which carried on until midnight. Obviously nothing the hotel could do about that.

A very good room at the front.

Road works including tarmac laying taking place late into the night and early morning the first night of our stay. We had a great room at the front of the hotel but had a bad night due to the noise of all the machinery.

Local to the Freeman hospital

I was unlucky as they were resurfacing the road outside so was noisy late into the night. That’s not the hotels fault.

The lovely guy on reception, who was so helpful, even with arranging for me to have my gorgeous Indian evening meal in the quiet bar instead of the noisy restaurant. I was staying one day at a time, as my husband was undergoing lung surgery at the nearby Freeman hospital. I really appreciated his guidance and felt reassured during a difficult and emotional time for me. The cooked breakfast was nice. Really good value for money.

Only minor things, like the lack of a teaspoon to stir my tea in the room and the soggy weetabix! Also, couldn't park on site on one evening as car park is limited.

Room - excellent and spacious size with an incredible show. Highly recommend it. Employees - welcoming and extremely helpful especially with limited parking. They really go above and beyond to help.

Parking - was limited, but employees are really accommodating, so please ask they have a great knowledge of the area, which is important as Newcastle like most cities have really fast ticket officers.

The location is really convenient for Jesmond and the University. It’s close to the Metro into town. The room was spacious and quiet with a good-sized bathroom. Staff were really friendly.

L’hotel è situato in una zona tranquilla e silenziosa, a 5 minuti a piedi dalla stazione metro di West Jesmond. Si può comunque raggiungere il centro anche a piedi, in 20/25 minuti. La camera era pulita e luminosa e lo staff molto cordiale e disponibile.

La colazione è un po’ scarna, però di buona qualità.
