The Staff were outstanding , very professional But very Friendly, Everywhere was nice and clean
All Good
Room nice, big and large bathroom. Breakfast very good. Location outstanding
Nothing
What I chose on the menu was very good, but to be perfectly honest there were only three dishes out if the seven or so on offer that I fancied.
A larger selection of of more basic meals. And frankly I thought the price for breakfast for those like me with a small appetite was extortionate.
Wonderful location, characterful old hotel. Badly in need of refurbishment, overpriced. Disappointed !, One would expect better from "Chestnut" group.
The whole place is "dog eared" & very tired, needs complete refurb. Charging Champagne prices for Shandy. Most guests seem to be dog owners so maybe that's the attraction. The bathroom was tiny 4ft wide at the most. The bath was chipped / scratched. Cheese slices as part of Continental Breakfast "REALLY" . Only bread available was for toasting. I have had better breakfasts in budget hotels. Where it is included in the room price, not £ 18.95 extra charge.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The exterior needed a little more upkeep with cobwebs, dirty lanterns on the terrace.
The location along with the clean comfortable rooms
Nothing to dislike
Room 112, the beds were very comfy, the shower was amazing. The location is wonderful, even though it wasn't classed as a "sea view" we got a great view of the sea!

Reception staff, friendly, helpful and professional. Room was spacious and comfortable. restaurant food was very good. Nice relaxed atmosphere throughout. We really enjoyed our stay and would visit this hotel again but with, hopefully, a much better organised breakfast service.
Breakfast service on our second day was a shambles and the restaurant staff seemed uninterested. We came down at the time we provided at check-in and was asked to wait in the lounge while a table was cleared. We only waited a few minutes but it then took 30 mins for our cooked food / drinks order to be taken. After another 25 minutes the ordered food had still not arrived. We couldn't wait any longer as we had to checkout for a pre-booked appointment. I reported the issue to reception at the time and our breakfast fee was fully refunded without question with a genuine apology for the poor service, which was appreciated.
Helpful and friendly staff. Facilities were good and everything was as I exspected. Will defineatly come back for another trip thoroughly enjoyed my stay John Bishopp
Room was spacious and clean sea view was ok
I thought it was overpriced
Location
Breakfast slow and only average
Prefer buffet style hot plate Location good
The breakfasts were great, a lovely location and the staff pleasant and helpful. Pity about the view from the room which was quite disappointing. Previous marks on armchair and carpet had not been dealt with. All in all, enjoyed our holiday with you and would come again. Thank you.
Location, staff, food, especially breakfast
Although the room was a generous size with a great sea view, the decor and furniture looked very tired, as was the rest of the hotel. But a nice stay all the same.
The staff at this hotel are absolutely amazing! Everyone is so welcoming and friendly and they go out of their way to make you feel like a valued visitor. The housekeeping staff were all so friendly and helpful. The staff who run the reception desk who are absolutely exceptional - so welcoming, professional, cheerful and they go the extra mile to ensure your stay is as special as possible! Also the lady who runs the morning breakfasts is absolutely fantastic! She is extremely welcoming, very friendly and runs the breakfast extremely well ensuring everyone is very happy! Thank you to all the team for such an amazing stay!
Just a lovely place for a getaway!! This is my 4th stay!!
Lovely, comfortable, great location
Nothing
Location and quality of the food, character of the building
Not a flaw, but would have liked to have a better view from our room. Would have liked to be able to warm up our coffee from a carafe on the buffet table without having to wait for server to be free to bring it.
Breakfast was very nice.
Nothing
It was the cleanest bathroom we have ever had in any hotel we've stayed in. Very comfortable and very convenient for the beach and restaurants.
Perfect location
Not applicable
No USB charger in our room.
Excellent location for beach walks
It was clean but a bit dated
Excellent location and the staff were very good. We had to move rooms but the second room was comfortable.
Had to move rooms because TV not working and maintenance would not be available over the weekend. Breakfast was poor. Limited choice and pastries and fresh fruit not replenished
Room was excellent, well decorated, nice and clean and gave us everything that we wanted.
nothing comes to mind
Had Dinner at Pub in grounds part of the Hotel, wonderful service and food
Nothing
Location handy for beach
Noise Friday night by family outside of accommodation
Great location. Pleasant staff. Interesting building
Breakfast was acceptable. Dinner menu was really pedestrian so we cancelled and went again to the pub next door-you're missing a trick there as the location is great
£18.50 was a little ridiculous for breakfast per person per day. We were shocked at this. It's def not worth this and obviously at the upper end of what they can charge. Any more would be crazy. Clear profeteeing. Its a nice meal and some serial. But not 5 star gourmet.
Breakfast price. Bar prices for wine. Old building clinging on.
Everything! Its a perfect location and is a nicely kept hotel.
Nothing
Great location, friendly staff
Location and facilities were very good everything you needed for a pleasant break away
Happy with it all room perfect with balcony
Hotel was good and staff very friendly
No fridge in the room no toilet brush
Sea view. Friendly staff
Nothing
Beautiful building and views, a great location, with ease of access to a stunning duney beach, and hunstanton town a short drive away.
We love the location. Our room was spotlessly clean. All staff were extremely friendly and efficient. The food on site was great. There is also a chance of eating at the Ancient Mariner next door. The whole place is so quiet and relaxing.
Thought breakfast was included but it was not. Went elsewhere.
Comfortable bed but no air con. Fan provided.
Fabulous location! We return time after time and are never disappointed. It's our happy place.
Nothing.
Location, size of room, view of sea.
Coffee at breakfast was not good quality.
location, cleanliness, beach bar
had to wait almost 45 minutes for breakfast, but it was lovely when it eventually arrived
Close to beach
Older style property with lots of stairs to rooms
Room and bathroom good with fan provided in bedroom which was appreciated due to hot weather. Also the fan in the bathroom worked!! (something that is too often not the case).
Meal slightly disappointing
The sea views
Lack of a practical lift to all levels.
Location , breakfast and parking
Shower needs updating
Direct access to the beach New Dune Bar a bonus Good size room Easy parking
Coffee only available from The Ancient Marina next door in the morning, not very convenient if you want to sit in the hotel lounge.
No breakfast. The room was fine and we liked the pub.
The room was very warm and opening the windows was a problem due to noisy people in the car park opposite. The room needed a fridge
We liked the position of this hotel. We did find it expensive but I would go again
Breakfast,we only ate once £18.50 each was expensive Ours had been held under lights and was dry egg was hard. We went down to old Hunstanton cafe which was £10 beautifully cooked.with a lot more on your plate
Location brilliant and great places to eat
Room was rather tired and could do with a makeover
Location spot on ! Beds lovely staff lovely .
Proximity to the beach. Very clean. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Did not have breakfast in hotel. Too expensive if you only want a small breakfast.
Better choice for evening meal. Very little for vegetarians.
Lovely venue near the beach
A bit outdated and the hotel menu needs more variety please esp breakfast and dinner
Wonderful location
It all feels a bit old-fashioned now, we look forward to the refurb planned. Fridge, air con would be nice. And the snooker room is missed.
Being the first time in Norfolk i never knew what to expect. What i can say that i came at the right time of year because it was absolutely beautiful. The hotel grounds were stunning with people and kids just chilling having fun. As we parked we noticed the Dune bar (kept my eye on that place). Entrance to the hotel lovely, found our room easily (just up one flight of stairs). Room was spacious with a sea view. Came with a fan which was needed. Overall, lovely.
The only downside was that the shower was just HOT. The handle turned 360 but yet the only temperature that came out was HOT all around. The kettle for some reason was also filled with water before i had used it. Not nice!
Our stay at Le Strange Arms & Lodges left us with mixed feelings. The hotel itself is lovely. The rooms have been recently renovated and are modern, clean, and very comfortable. Although we had booked a standard room, we were pleasantly surprised to be given Room 219 on the top floor with a beautiful sea view, which made our stay even more special. The location is perfect, just on the beach, and the free parking is a big advantage. Overall, the hotel itself is excellent, and we would happily stay there again. However, the breakfast service needs significant improvement to match the otherwise high standard of the hotel.
Unfortunately, breakfast was a real disappointment, especially considering it costs £18 per person. We informed the staff that we would come for breakfast at 9:30 a.m., but when we arrived, many items had already run out. There were no croissants, no fruit, no watermelon or melon, and only a few pieces of bacon, ham, and cheese left. Nothing was being replenished. When I asked if more croissants could be brought out, I was told they would check if any were left. A few minutes later, they brought out just two croissants and said that was the last of them. For the price charged, we expected the breakfast buffet to be regularly restocked until the end of breakfast service. Another downside was that the breakfast room was extremely hot, making the experience even less enjoyable.
Loved where the hotel is located. Watching the sunset over the sea was lovely. The hotel has many places to sit and relax inside and out. Access to the beach was very close .
The bathroom didnt look as though it had been cleaned properly.
The Hotel is in a perfect spot with lovely views, our room was very nice and the bed was so comfortable, everywhere in the hotel had very tasteful furnishings. We had a fabulous breakfast before leaving I couldn’t take any photos as I forgot my i phone charger and non of the staff in the hotel could help me.
It cost us £395 for two a double room and breakfast for one night, it included a cost of £30 to check in at 1pm instead of 3pm. The food menu is quite limited so we chose to eat in the Marina Tavern next door which belongs to the hotel, however we and a quite a few others ended up eating over an hour late as it was so busy, and the food was quite awful, almost ready meals, no finesse at all and very expensive.
Friendly and helpful staff Room size was really good. Slept vwry well on mattress. Location is amazing Having a wonderful outside space, and bar, food is great. Free parking too
No fridge in room but this really is a small thing
The whole ambiance was pleasant with varied dining from restaurant to pub meals to pizzas overlooking the beach.
There was more litter around than I liked but it was a very busy weekend.
Location and the building a grade 2 listed hotel so quaint
Nothing
Prachtige omgeving, Aan zee. Vriendelijk personeel. Ontbijtbuffet en menukaart om een typisch Engels gerecht te kiezen. Goed bed.
Het pand is prachtig, helaas zeer slecht onderhouden. Strandbar nam geen bestellingen voor diner meer aan vanwege personeelstekort. Kamer gedateerd en badkamer weinig comfort. Geen airco.
Wonderful location
Dated, austerity era furniture, tired decoration and old carpeting
The location
It all looked dated
A beautiful location - great for sunsets over the sea and easy access to all of North Norfolk
Nothing
Breakfast was good, but they seemed very busy, so was slow to arrive. Room was comfortable & shower was excellent.
Cobwebs & dusty surfaces, especially on staircases.
Wonderful location
In need of updating and refurbishing.
Loved the hotel, the location and ambience. Exceptionally clean and comfortable but does need a little bit of a face-lift as the decor in particular is a little outdated. That said everything in the room worked perfectly, ie hot water, beautiful shower, crisp fresh bedding and a wonderful sea view. Every member of staff we came across were very helpful and friendly, but perhaps a uniform of sorts would add to a more polished look, especially to create a more professional look in the restaurant area Thoroughly enjoyed our short stay here and will definitely be back.
Grosse Zimmer, bequemes Bett, freundliches Personal.

Room - fantastic view & comfortable. Mariners bar great choice of food & drinks on offer.
Hotel restaurant food not worth the money so only used on the first night very meagre portions. Breakfast again totally overpriced for the quality offered. Limited time in the shower otherwise would have flooded No fridge Range of beer on offer in the hotel very limited
All staff were very and obliging and helpful 10/10
Car Park could have been a bit more outlined and all all parking bays made clearly visible. ALSO the car parking area to the beach area could have been more payable for access and exit areas ( Same grounds) could have a fortune !!!!!!
It’s a really nice building, great location, a nice old feel about the hotel.
I don’t think it was great value for money, Also the beds weren’t made on check in, And I had to make both our beds myself. Not really what I expect, when I paid £179 a night, other hotels have the beds made and ready.
Spacious room with partial sea view
The price of Breakfast, too expensive so went elsewhere !
Lovely hotel in the most perfect position for the beauty of the coast. Great staff, delicious breakfast and dinner, tea tray is excellent too, all good, thank you.
No change needed.
It was right out front by the bay lovely changing views
They were quite fussy about my dogs had 2
Location, staff limited really struggled to cover everything but they kept going with a smile on their face good people
Only shortage of staff in the evening everything else was great
All went very well as normal for this hotel as we have stayed here ten times now.
The kitchen extractor fan was across from our room and it was noisy.
