Clean and comfortable with the traditional look and feel. Very well maintained and the property amenities were top notch.

The staff and room were exceptional. We felt welcomed at every moment and the staff was so kind giving us recommendations and ideas of where to go and what to do. We enjoyed every moment there and would absolutely recommend it.

frühstück war dabei sehr gute lage und das personal ist sehr nett

die massage war oke.. wir hatten nur die normale massage und leider roch mein handtuch ectrem stark nach fritteuse.. was dagegen sehr gut war das wir es noch spontan buchen konnten und das sehr spät am abend war wine schöne erholung in den schlaf

A very comfortable stay in a wonderful guest house. It is worth booking the dinner as an extra. The staff were courteous and knowledgeable. The property was very clean. We had a large suite with a living area downstairs and an outdoor bath. Both the dinner and breakfast were exceptional. We found this a space for relaxation and calm in busy Kyoto.

The staff and the room was excellent. Our room came w breakfast and it was great way to start the day of walking. Everything you need the staff was there to help including ordering a massage at 11pm to soothe my legs after walking 27k steps

The inn is superbly arranged in a pure Japanese style (e.g. furnitures, mats, paper walls). The living room and the bedroom are very spacious. The two hot baths available are very useful when sharing the room with the family. We tasted local craft beers from the free mini bar on the terrace, enjoying the garden view. If you sleep in a traditional way on the mats, you must consider that the paper windows will not stop daylight or outside noise. It is the charm of sleeping in an authentic inn (eventually, be prepared and have earplugs or sleep mask). Moreover, what really makes the difference is the high quality of service. The staff is very attentive and caring. They make you feel welcome and treat you like a special guest. It is not a night in a hotel, but rather experimenting the Japanese traditional way of living. We will certainly do it again when in Kyoto.

Very welcoming and relaxing. Spacious rooms, with comfortable beds and a great shower. From helping us with slippers after removing our shoes to the beautiful presentation of breakfast each morning, the staff made every moment feel special. The experience gave us such a peaceful sense of Kyoto hospitality and culture.

This hotel is pretty expensive and just didn't feel like a good value. The meals are nice, but are far from fine dining and you pay fine dining prices. The room is nice but views are bad in the middle of Tokyo, and it is missing all of the luxury finishes and small touches that wild hello justify the very high cost for the room. We enjoyed the hotel, but just cannot reconcile three experience with the bill.

Tutto. La struttura era pulitissima, la stanza fantastica (che includeva mini onsen e giardino zen) e anche il cibo era veramente il meglio. Una vera esperienza giapponese da non perdersi assolutamente. Due ulteriori commenti: - nel gruppo avevamo un vegetariano. Ha avuto una colazione vegetariana e in stile giapponese molto buona. - un membro dello staff, Takaeda, è stato gentilissimo. Ci ha servito la cena, è stato di compagnia e il giorno dopo, dopo aver scoperto che eravamo italiani, ci ha disegnato una mini guida del Giappone tutta per noi. Grazie Takaeda, ci hai fatto tanto piacere :D

The property itself is a beautifully restored Kyomachiya (traditional Kyoto townhouse) with over 80 years of history. I really appreciated the authentic architectural style and the incredibly friendly and professional staff, who made me feel very welcome throughout my stay. However, compared to other ryokans I have stayed at, the value for money was disappointing given the high price point. The biggest drawback is the lack of surroundings or views, as the building is completely enclosed by other modern structures, leaving little to look at. Additionally, the lack of on-site parking makes it quite inconvenient for those traveling by car. While the historical house is charming, the overall experience didn't quite justify the premium cost

At a price point of over $1,000 USD per night, this stay was extremely disappointing. Despite being an 80-year-old traditional Kyoto Machiya with friendly staff, the overall experience did not justify the cost. Hygiene was a major issue: There were food crumbs and residue on the table, and the outdoor private bath had visible black mold. The room has poor soundproofing; I could clearly hear people talking downstairs and in neighboring areas. The heating relies solely on the AC unit, which kept cycling on and off, making it hard to maintain a comfortable temperature. Location and Convenience: There is no on-site parking. For a premium price, I had to find a nearby paid public parking lot and walk back to the property. At this price, I could have stayed at a luxury international hotel chain with much better facilities and service. As for dining, the Sukiyaki was excessively salty and the food quality was average despite the presentation. With no surrounding views and so many issues, the value for money is extremely low. I would not recommend this for the price

The property was beautifully appointed and traditional in style. The staff were very attentive and looked after all of our needs. We had an amazing Sukiyaki dinner as well as breakfast and were treated like we were the only people there. Fantastic experience.

The staff were all very junior and level of quality in the service can be improved. For this price, you expect better trained staff with a flawless service, even though they were nice and trying hard.

Everything was wonderful! Friendly and welcoming staff, a beautiful room, and delicious food. We really appreciated the cozy and private atmosphere and can’t wait to come back to Kyoto and stay with you again.

Location was great. The Onsen was the best thing about the experience - it was much needed given it was our honeymoon. The breakfast was also an interesting experience. The team were great.

Two-floor setup with steep staircase to take you to the beds and down to the bathroom.

Lovely space, exactly as described. The staff was super sweet, helpful, and accommodating. The area was quiet and residential and a nice break from the business of central Kyoto. Very attentive to allergies.

Excellent private onsen room. Fantastic dinner and good breakfast. Also had a great massage in the room. Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly.

We really wanted to experience traditional Japanese accommodation. From start to finish, the experience was magical. The staff made us feel like we were their first and only guests. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was done to ensure that we had a great experience. From explaining the different types of Japanese food at breakfast to ensuring that we had enough bath salts, every detail was considered. The amazing staff made this possible. Thank you.

Gorgeous place - wonderful property

Beautiful hotel with Japanese garden connected to the room. Matcha room has private outdoor soaking tub over looking garden. Very zen atmosphere! 15 minute cab ride from Kyoto station in local neighborhood.

Das Personal war sehr herzlich und 24h für Fragen usw. zur Verfügung. Das Frühstück ist sehr lecker und ein tolles Erlebnis! Unser Zimmer war ein Traum. Der eigene Onsen und der kleine Garten waren ein sehr schönes Erlebnis. Zusätzlich wurden Getränke, typisch japanische Süßigkeiten und eine persönliche Nachricht mit Kühlpads für uns hergerichtet :)
