Crystal Bay Historic Hotel

3rd time staying at the Crystal Bay Hotel & we had a wonderful time again. Thanks to the cook who made hot cocoa especially for our daughter.

Management has kept this historic hotel well maintained. The hotel is very clean and quiet. Parking across the street is convenient. It's also minutes from Tropicana Field and Babe Ruth's Mansion and St Pete Beach. The hotel also provides a complimentary buffet style breakfast. All at a reasonable rate. Definitely recommend!

Das Hotel ist sehr schön, obwohl das Haus schon über 100 Jahre alt ist, wie es heisst. Das Frühstück war sehr gut, es gab jeden Tag frische Früchte. Das Personal ist sehr nett. Das Zimmer war sehr gross. Wir haben auch Zusatzhandtücher erhalten. Parkieren kann man kostenlos vor dem Hotel.

Alles war gut. Lediglich fiel die Spülung des WCs aus in der 2. Nacht, wonach wir bis am Morgen keine funktionierende Toiletten Spühlung hatten.

Hotel staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Room was relatively small ( old hotel) but clean and king size bed was very comfortable. The included breakfast buffet put other included breakfast buffets to shame. Everything was fresh and the highest quality and there was cook on the buffet where you could have your eggs cooked to order

Nothing really. This is not a fancy resort hotel with all the bells and whistles but a modernized historic building that provides a quality experience

Es gab bei der Unterkunft genug Parkplätze. Die Zimmergröße war gut und es war auch alles sauber. Das Frühstück war okay. Es gab frische Eierspeisen und Waffeln und ein bisschen Obst. Handtücher und Schirm gab es im Hotel.

Das Hotel hat einen schiefen Boden. Man ist bei der Lage auf ein Auto angewiesen.

Great location with nice restaurants in walking distance. The hotel was very cozy, clean and the breakfast buffet was great! Perfect for a short stay.

We had a great experience. The employees were great and happy. They helped us without making us wait. We checked in earlier than usual and our room was ready within minutes. The room itself was great. It was a great size, very clean and very reasonable. The atmosphere was friendly. The building is beautiful and the breakfast or break-feast was well above par. I would definitely recommend people here.

The location is great! The staff are very friendly and helpful. We really loved our stay!

Friendly and efficient check-in. Convenient free surface parking across the street. Nice included breakfast. Our room (#108 Ground Floor) was a good size with plenty of storage. Ceiling fan and easy access to the lobby and front door. Extremely good room rate. Comfortable bed and pillows. Super cold A/C (which was essential as the temp. was around 95+ degrees). If it was good enough for Babe Ruth and Marilyn Monroe it was OK with us. Fun to stay at an historic Boom time Florida property and will stay there again.

Room was just off the lobby and so had some guest noise. Also, it faced on one side 2 busy and often noisy streets. If this is a concern, ask for a quiet location room away from the busy roads. Finally, we are not a fan of electronic keys and check-in, but we are probably in a minority.

Great place to stop,a short drive to the beaches with endless shops & restaurants,great breakfast and endless room amenities (towels,shower gels,soaps etc),staff were welcoming & friendly.

Only downside is i think because of the age of the property there are random noises going on as we was on the lower floor we could hear kids running round late at night.

The bed and pillows were comfortable and that was about it beside the location being close to most of the things we planned to do while in town.

The entire place smelled wet and musty with heavy air freshener smell to seemingly cover the smells. Including in the room, thankfully we weren't in the room much. The pool was like a bathtub it was so warm bordering on hot.

Easy check-in, staff is friendly and very helpful the location was perfect

My husband is disabled and walking from the parking area across the street to the service elevator on the side of the building while carrying our luggage was painful and difficult for both of us. According to the front desk lady, it's either the service elevator or the stairs. She was very nice by the way.

The room was extremely large and accommodating. The breakfast buffet was one of the best I have had at a hotel. The staff were excellent

The parking lot had some large work trucks taking up several spaces, but we found street parking very close.

I really enjoyed my stay. The hotel itself was charming and had such a welcoming atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better. One of my favorite parts of the stay was the breakfast. There were so many delicious options to choose from each morning and everything was fresh and well prepared. I also loved how comfortable our room was. It was clean, cozy and made it easy to relax. Housekeeping did an amazing job keeping the room spotless and making sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and truly appreciated the hospitality. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable, I would definitely stay here again and recommend your hotel to others.

The parking in Treasure Island was the worst I've ever been. Having to pay for parking for 2 hours and pay $40.00 was robbery and if you didn't make it on time ,you get fine another $40.00. We will never come back.

Reviews raved about the breakfast. I was nice but it was basically the same breakfast at the holiday inn. There was a lot of fresh cut fruit but the rest was as mentioned. I was a bit disappointed. I expected something special from a b and b.

Location, staff, price

The bed. Very uncomfortable. Had trouble even though laying down.

Its was convenient to the beach just a quick drive over the bridge. The room was spacious and couldn't hear any street noise or other room noise! Beds were comfortable.

Parking was a bit challenging. If the lot is full.havw to street park and 2 areas were a bit dark for my personal liking. Would advise to give parking passes out to deter other none visitors from parking there. Also no hard boiled eggs for breakfast. These are all minor but only reason a 4 instead of a 5 star.

The halls were very musty which I attribute to the heat. Rooms were very comfortable.

The rooms are super comfy. The hotel has this character but the age of the hotel is in its favour.

The breakfast is ok. All clean and fully stocked but it lacks healthy eating big time.

It is a nice, clean hotel. The breakfast was excellent, coffee, excellent scrambled eggs, everything was overwhelming good. King size bed, nice soaps, and good shower. A/C in Florida June, it was great, I had to use a light blanket to sleep☺️. Location was super,if you want to explore the area for a few days. Close to beach and downtown. GPS on my car got me everywhere I wanted to go 😁

Such a lovely, historic hotel! The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable, and the breakfast (included) was amazing. Our room was spacious, with fridge and microwave. The pull-out couch made the room perfect for our family of four. We did not have a chance to use the pool, but hope to on a future visit. The shampoo was not great for my hair, but that is easily addressed for the future. Also, if you are sensitive to light when you sleep, I recommend an eye mask, as the sun does make the room quite bright in the morning. Overall a lovely hotel/B&B experience:)

Loved the place… it’s got an old fashioned charm and character . The hotel is incredibly proud of its history which is evidenced throughout the establishment. The rooms have everything you need and the staff are super friendly and welcoming- Dani was on reception most of the time we stayed and was incredibly helpful and friendly. Breakfast was included and had everything you’d need to start the day right . An absolute gem of a find so glad we stayed

This is a historic hotel in a lively, interesting part of town. It has much more character and charm compared to other hotels in its price range. Nice breakfast. Coffee and water available all day in the lobby. Beautiful pool. Highly recommended.

This hotel is over 110 years old so it's understandable that the rooms don't have an outlet every 6 feet but it would have been nice if the hotel had done more to compensate for this, for example providing power strips in safe locations and using lamps with built-in outlets.

Es ist in einem tollen historischen District gelegen, Straende und Restaurants sind schnell erreichbar. Es gibt tolles Frühstück mit frischen Früchten, Eiern, Waffeln - sehr gut! Schönes Ambiente in dem Haus alle Mitarbeiter nett .

Es haben im Zimmer ein paar Haken gefehlt um etwas aufzuhängen. Es gibt keine Waschmaschine für Gäste!

I would recommend the Crystal Bay Hotel in a heartbeat! The history of the hotel is very interesting, and really made for a great atmosphere. Great location, and close to many activities (ask the staff for their recommendations). The rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was amazing. And, my #1 rave would be for the staff! Every single member of the staff was so personable and helpful - answering our questions, providing recommendations - all with a great sense of humor. If we are ever back this way again, this is where we will stay. Thank you!

I love historic buildings, so the Crystal Bay hit all the points for me; history, feel and atmosphere of an older building with modern conveniences. One of the guests in my party works in hospitality, so she is usually pretty critical. She was impressed with the hotel and especially the staff that helped make our stay more enjoyable.

My only criticism is that street noise seemed to be pretty loud, even on the upper floor. However, since that is beyond the ability of staff to manage, it's just something to consider when staying there.

Sehr gut erhaltenes und liebevoll gepflegtes historisches Hotel im Flair der 50er Jahre. Geräumige, saubere Zimmer, und problemloses Parken auf dem Hotel Parkplatz oder in der Strasse selbst. Sehr freundliches und aufmerksames Personal und ein hervorragendes Frühstück machen dieses Hotel zu einer absoluten Empfehlung für einen Aufenthalt in St.Petersburg.

Durch die Lage an der Hauptstraße ist der Verkehrslärm am Pool sehr deutlich wahrnehmbar. Auf unserem Zimmer hat der Verkehr trotz nur einfacher Verglasung der alten Fenster allerdings nicht gestört, wir konnten sehr gut schlafen.

The staff were really helpful and friendly. The hotel had a feeling of old worldlyness. It was perfectly located for exploring St Petersburg and Tampa.

Tolles historisches Hotel mit sensationell gutem Frühstück, Pool mit Handtüchern, jederzeit Kaffee und Tee und einer sehr angenehmen Atmosphäre.

Der Check-In wird rein digital erwartet, mit Zahlen-Codes für alle Türen. Wer (wie wir) renitent ist und klingelt, darf immerhin klassisch einchecken - die Codes kommen dann per E-Mail. Die Sprinkler-Anlage ist wirklich gewöhnungsbedürftig quer durchs Zimmer gezogen.

We have stayed at this historic hotel over several years. They are pet friendly. The staff is always helpful and friendly. There is a lovely butterfly garden out back. The have an outdoor pool. The beds are comfortable. Free WiFi and TV. The only drawback is it is on a busy road. You hear motorcycles and excessively loud cars and trucks. The hotel is very clean.

The atmosphere, the kindness of the staff, and especially the incredible receptionist who went out of her way to communicate with us despite our very limited English — it meant a lot. The room was absolutely spotless, which I deeply appreciate not only as a guest, but also as the owner of a cleaning company. The level of care and attention was truly outstanding — especially compared to other places we experienced during our trip. I would just like to share one small, constructive observation: the way trash bags are placed in the bins. When the plastic liner is too visible or oversized, it slightly affects the overall aesthetic and also reduces the usability of the bin. A small adjustment here could make an already beautiful space feel even more refined. Thank you again for your warmth, professionalism, and the feeling of being truly welcome. We will remember this stay very fondly 🤍
