Lovely bedroom. Lovely common area for relaxing.
Great location and staff
Radiator in the room didn’t work.
Quiet and comfortable bed. Good breakfast, easy parking. Stayed here many, many times when on business trips to the area.

Lovely
The rooms very clean, pleasant staff and a very nice location in a nice building with character.
Nothing everything was very nice. Excellent value for money. It obviously is a very successful wedding venue and I am not sure I would like to visit when there is a wedding as it could be busy.
Excellent comfortable bed and pillows
Under staffed throughout. No-one was at reception and when we found someone in the bar area he acknowledged we were waiting but then spent 15 minutes attending to the bar before checking us in. Breakfast was a disaster. No staff around so we couldn't give our order. Couldn't work out how the toaster worked, but there was no-one to ask. After 20 minutes we gave up and abandoned the idea of breakfast. I suspect their focus is on wedding parties rather than concern for their guests.
Good location and clean food was pretty good
Nothing comes to mind
Beds were very comfortable and room was not too hot. Dinner was very good value for money.
Very quiet. Good mattress. Close to Lymm.
No proper coffee machine.
The breakfast was exceptional with plenty of choice. We stayed on the hotest day of the year by midnight with the room being so hot and we couldn't sleep I went down to reception and the young man took me to an alternative room to see if cooler, it was and we changed room and managed to sleep for which we were very grateful. A big thank you to the young man on night duty. We will certainly stay again when in the area.
It was just the heat but that was not the hotels fault only air conditioning could have solved the problem in the first room.
Beautiful hotel. Great location near to m6. Lovely staff. Great restaurant....food really good. I especially liked the lime green velvet settee up the stairs 😉
It was really hot and windows don't open far and no air conditioning or fan.
Very clean and convenient
No air conditioning in room
Très bel hôtel, magnifique chambre et petit déjeuner très gourmand
As always, the Black Sheep Wools Retreat at Statham Lodge was wonderful. The staff are amazing, and the 3 night stay is like a home away from home (without cooking, cleaning, washing-up etc.). The rooms are spacious and the beds are so comfortable that I have fallen asleep in the midst of reading. The food is excellent, I always have one cooked breakfast during my stay (eventhough I shouldn't) and the scrambled eggs are outstanding (freshly cooked and not left in a warming dish forever).
Lovely hotel, in a good location . Nice gardens , walk from hotel along canal into Lymm .
Nothing
The proximity to Lymm. Extremely clean room. Very comfy bed. Large car park .
The prices are much too high. £14.80 for a whiskey and lemonade and a pint of lager & lime. The small bottle of lemonade was nearly the same price as the whiskey!
On arrival for the second time we were allocated a double room on the ground floor. There was hair in and around the toilet, half a toilet roll and no tissues or spoons. When I asked for a box of tissues the guy at reception said we don't do tissues you have to use toilet paper!! They also forget to say that there was a wedding and that loud music would be playing into the early hours which kept us awake. The room was not turned around for our second night, towels left hanging and cups not washed. The whole place could do with a makeover. Carpets worn and dirty and generally everything was old and well worn. We will not be back.
Rooms a little dark but clean staff friendly but sparse waited over 10 minutes to order a drink while having the wedding breakfast bar attendant just kept disappearing My daughter who was the bride to be was asked to clear the dressing room well before the 1 pm wedding which caused the mother of the bride and the bridesmaids all to be seen by quite a few of the wedding party before the wedding started due to them all having to move their items being used in order to get ready ( can’t understand why) To top it off it’s probably the most expensive bar we have ever used and we have stayed in plenty of higher class establishments the wedding guest were all working class people but my daughter wanted a little class for her wedding venue which I feel it was my son got married 3 years ago and was at mottram hall but our guests including ourselves thought Statham was a much more relaxed venue you fell down on 2 very important areas mentioned above didn’t spoil the day fortunately but I would not recommend the venue due to bar prices and daughter pointlessly having her bridesmaids etc move all the gear before time of wedding I mean it wasn’t going to be used again that day Finally I fail to understand why the lady who had helped her plan her day so well wasn’t even present on the day we had her husband instead who to be fair did the job well it’s just fine detail to me Last thing I’ve noticed the owner only seems to respond to the good reviews not a single unhappy guest has had a response
Nice breakfast, good location
Room - the Byron Suite - was VERY hot - it was a hot day. I had to go down and ask for a fan. Nowhere to put the fan in the bedroom area so moved chair from the sitting area and put the fan on that. Bathroom was like an oven - small high windows but they could have had a blind of sorts to stop the sun beating in. The room could have benefitted from an armchair and a larger sofa, if we were going to watch tv we would have had to sit on a v small sofa squashed together. TV not visible from bed. Very very soft pillows. Not very supportive bed.
We stayed at Statham Lodge in order to be close by for a funeral (crematorium nearby/wake at the hotel). The hotel was super accommodating- allowing us to check in early with our dog and making everything as easy as possible with the logistics. The event was really well run and I am sure the family appreciated all the food and attention to detail from the hotel. Our stay was great and the breakfast was good too. Thanks to all the team
Very friendly staff, lovely and clean, super comfortable and great location!
Amazing to be in this Hotel
From the moment we arrived, the welcome and check‑in were incredibly friendly and efficient. The afternoon tea was absolutely amazing — a great selection of treats, beautifully presented, and the service throughout was excellent. Overall, every member of staff we encountered during our stay was extremely helpful and made the experience feel special.
The grounds could use a little more attention, as some outdoor areas were slightly overgrown. In the seating area we used, a few of the paving flags were uneven, which raised some concerns about potential trips — especially as we were visiting with my dad, who is less mobile. However, this did not affect our overall experience, and we still thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Food was good and staff very friendly
I was not aware that this hotel was also a wedding venue. With this a poor night sleep due to noise of wedding and other guests in the corridors, late into the night. This should be made clear on booking sites
Amazing place so clean and tidy staff where very friendly and welcoming food was amazing.
In rural location but not too far from M6 although a little difficult to find. Excellent breakfast - best full English breakfast we have had in a Hotel for many years. Hotel is a little dated and in need of refurbishing in some places.
Toaster needs changing - despite attempting several times it would only toast one side of the bread. There was a Wedding Reception which we could hear but it didn't disturb us too much.
Really friendly service great clean tidy room amazing food and drinks
My mums room was very hot no lifts
Nice traditional hotel in its own gardens.
No air conditioning and not possible to open the windows in the room.
Friendly staff, very clean
Nothing
We were travelling North and needed somewhere to stay and found the hotel on google maps. A very good price including breakfast and close to the M6 so decided to book. We were not disappointed as our evening meal was very good and the breakfast was a real treat. Would definitely stay again if we were in the area.
Stayed here as part of a wedding party. We were staying the night before the wedding. Booked 10 months in advance. The room we were allocated was directly above where the local school prom was being held. There is no ac in the rooms so the windows need to be open. We were kept awake by the noise from the prom goers being outside. Went to reception next morning & was informed that we had a quiet room ! The room where the bride & bridesmaids were getting ready had ac but was not working ! Went to reception again & was told it wasn’t working but “was being looked at” . Found the lady on reception to be very unhelpful. If you are thinking about booking this as a wedding venue you definitely need to make sure they have a plan B with regards to ac failing.
We returned to this beautiful hotel where we were married, to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and had an absolutely fantastic time; we couldn't have wished for better. The function room and grounds were exquisite, just as we remembered them. The staff were all very friendly and obliging, the buffet was first class and the events management team couldn't have been more helpful, every step of the way. Feedback from all our family and friends was that everybody had a wonderful evening. Many guests stayed over with us and we were treated to a delicious breakfast and the chance to spend some more time in the beautiful gardens. We can't thank everyone at Statham Lodge enough for helping to make our celebration a great success.
New hairdryer Serve yourself coffee/ tea and toast.
Room 10 - chair in room made manoeuvrability difficult. Window only opened a fraction and with no air conditioning it was extremely stifling.
The grounds, the gardens are lovely
The room were far too hot! Very I’m uncomfortable, no sleep due to the heat in the rooms. The breakfast, the sausages were if a poor quality
Bed comfortable and size of room
THE NOISE FROM FUNCTIONS; loud music is allowed until well past 12am and it is loud. No ventilation or airflow so rooms are HOT, so you then have to open windows to allow in cool air and guess what, even more noise from the music comes in. Staff don't care, when booking if they said music is allowed this late from functions it would mean guests are informed and could then make a decision to stay or not. Do not expect to sleep when staying on a weekend or in hot weather.
it was where i needed it, it was of a reasonable standard, but not modern or plush.
Suggest its due for some updating, but its passble.
The garden was really nice
The rooms are old and not cleaned properly
Tasty breakfast comfortable beds and great location
Lovely location, nice building, inside and out
No air conditioning
Such a lovely hotel for a wedding. Beautiful grounds. Full of character . Lovely staff. Wedding breakfast was delicious. Bedroom was spacious and clean. Along with a good night sleep. A good choice for the breakfast in the morning.
Staff were friendly, lovely gardens, very handy for M6
No AC and no lift
Very pleased with the Hotel. Good location, nice room and good breakfast.
Staff went out of their way to ensure my overnight stay was perfect. I cannot recommend them enough
Still feels like an old coaching house under its private ownership
Been there before and loved location and the grounds
Some staff let it down
Absolutely lovely hotel - the grounds surrounding it are beautiful . So much history. We attended over 2 days for my sister's wedding and the staff couldn't do enough for us. Mrs.Walker especially deserves a mention she is the kindest most patient lady and nothing is too much trouble. She has a rich knowledge of the history of the building and I loved hearing the stories about it. I will definitely be visiting again.
A beautiful hotel in stunning grounds. We stayed here as we were attending a wedding evening celebration & I would definitely recommend it as a wedding venue. Check in was quick & friendly. Our room was lovely, plenty of room & very comfy bed. It was quite warm but we are currently experiencing a heatwave so expected. No air conditioning but didn’t expect it with being an old mansion house. I believe there may have been fans available. The bathroom was very modern and they have gorgeous L’occatine toiletries ! I don’t think there is a lift so this may be a problem for anyone with mobility issues. Our breakfast was very tasty the following morning. Small choice of cereals, fruit, pastries to help yourself & lots of choices from the menu to be freshly cooked to order. I can definitely recommend this hotel and I would stay again.
The bed was very comfortable and the shower was powerful. Outside garden spaces were lovely and the large breakfast room was a pleasant space.
We paid £20 for the ' Pet's Getaway ' package. This had not been noted down and as a result all we received was a dog bowl. The two members of staff, we discussed this with were not interested. The incredibly powerful shower was placed so that it was impossible to keep the water from soaking the floor.
Quiet location with parking. Good sized room with a comfortable bed and a nice bathroom.

Excellent location and very comfortable bed
Pillows were not great
Statham Lodge has a long history and we privileged to spend time with the owner sharing that history with us. Ideally situated location and quiet relaxed atmosphere.
This is a really lovely property with a beautiful garden and all the staff we met were friendly and very helpful. The manager on duty when we arrived helped ensure our bikes were in a safe and secure location overnight and gave me great advice on the best place to photograph the property from. We had dinner in the hotel and it was great value and excellent quality. The breakfast was equally good. The rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet.
Faultless
Pretty and in nice location
In room tv was v dated and slow
We enjoyed the venue for the wedding. Unfortunately the booking procedure lacked clarity and we ended up paying for meals we were not available to have as we were eating in the wedding room. Also our son had single occupancy but we still had to pay the full rate as for two, plus meals not taken!! The staff refused to listen
Old world charm and lovely gardens
Near mway but it wasn’t too loud.
Very clean , pleasant staff , good food
Ideal location from main motorway. Situated in a rural location yet not very far from amenities or motorways. Staff were lovely & happy to engage in conversation as well as addressing any requests. Spacious bedroom. Hotel restaurant delivered quality food.
A selection of single malt whiskies 😀
really nice hotel - quite clean and friendly staff - will be using again.
1st time visiting here, this was a treat for myself and Daughter in Law. Lovely setting, nice rooms we went in, the only negative was there was just us 2 in this vast room, 1 man popped in for lunch and left and a couple arrived just as we were leaving, so unfortunately there was no real atmosphere. The positive was the afternoon tea was lovely I am a vegetarian which I did state before and had lovely sandwiches as did my Daughter in Law, lovely cakes, very cute tea pot and cups etc. There was also a issue with lots of ants on the floor and window frame, I am sure its a lovely setting on a Sunday day and when there are many more people
Great hotel, perfectly positioned for easy access to Lymm and the motorway. Very quiet and peaceful. Huge car park. Lovely food, exceptionally clean and very friendly staff. Ideal wedding venue or for couples wanting a secluded quiet break.
The location was beautiful for a wedding.
The coffee machine.
We had a lovely welcome from staff, the room was very comfortable and clean. Lovely gardens to sit and enjoy a cocktail and dinner was also very nice.
N
I had a peaceful and pleasant stay. The breakfast food was good quality and choices were widely suitable. The staff. We’re helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and acceptable.
I was trailering a boat and picked this place because of the space at the end of the car park which is specifically for longer vehicles. Despite being near the M6 motorway (which is also a benefit of course) it was a quiet location.
The coffee was the worst I've ever had.
Exterior and gardens are beautiful, it’s a great location.
Rooms were boiling hot but I was provided a fan on request. Two major fails were the car park flood lights which are on all night and illuminate the room and early morning deliveries (both mornings I stayed and one one was a weekend) which were right under my window, impossible to sleep through and not quick. One breakfast (eggs royal) the muffin was so burnt there was no point in sending it back as it’s should have never been sent out in the first place. Zero care or pride applied, The salmon was transparently thin as well but incongruously the poached eggs were perfect.
Already knew about the hotel but never stayed there. A great location and such lovely grounds and hotel a beautiful dining area and characterful rooms. Really comfortable rooms and well decorated. Great breakfast!!! The best we have had for a while in a hotel.
The rooms were a bit disconnected from the rest of the hotel. We knew to go through different function rooms because we had been to evening events but others wouldn’t have.
The location was good for what we wanted. Breakfast was amazing, good selection & quality of food. Loads of parking which was a bonus.
Room was a bit small for the price we paid. Check out was a bit too early at 10.30am & £15 per hour if you want a later check out is a bit steep.
Personnel très sympa. Petit déjeuner bon et copieux. Parking. Cadre agréable.

Breakfast
We really enjoyed our three day stay at Statham Lodge. All the staff were very friendly and efficient. The room was well furnished, clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were of a high standard offering a large degree of variety. The setting of the hotel is very impressive in quiet surroundings and it is well located to explore Lymm and neighbouring areas.
Everything was so nice
NA
It’s a very pretty hotel, exceptionally clean and well run. Breakfast and dinner had a wide choice. All of the staff were helpful and friendly. Perfect position for motorway as only 6 minutes from the junction but very quiet and peaceful. Ample parking . Huge function room.

The conform and history for this hotel
Wass very hot the bedroom
Room was lovely and the actual venue was stunning but the staff were so rude it was unreal, spoke to horribly from the get go I will say it was mainly the women there as someone who has worked in hospitality my whole life I wouldn’t treat a customer that way - my boyfriend asked for some crisps for the kids and she said “I’m busy” he didn’t hear as he is hard of hearing and he said just the crisps please and she said “selective hearing from another ignorant male” when you’re paying £25 a round you’d at least expect some form of pleasantries they also wouldn’t let me have a glass of water in the morning because they needed it for “other guests” it’s tap water.
Easy to find, and the surroundings are very nice - not least the proximity to Lymm. The staff was good, and the restaurant delivered as we expected. Nice breakfast!
Externally very picturesque
I became unwell (symptoms of food poisoning) after dinner during a one night stay and the staff were harsh and rude. They weren’t interested. The property is tired and worn.
Lovely stay away for our friend's wedding this weekend! Staff were lovely, very attentive and anything was asked for they accommodated. The breakfast was fantastic, cold selection of cereal and pastries and a hot menu to choose from. Wedding went off without a hitch, the room was lovely, all in all a lovely stay. And congratulations to Nicola and Andy!
Unfortunately technology failed here, with my booking being accepted on to receive a call from the hotel whilst on Route the hotel told me there was no room available, but yet book went through!
Great location and good parking facilities
The room smelled slightly musty and our clothes also smelled the same when we took them from the hanging space. It was disappointing at breakfast to pay £15 for a breakfast that had a chip shop style sausage!?! The bacon, eggs and other additions were fine, and although it is only a sausage, I would have expected better quality produce
Friendly staff and very comfortable bed
I would have liked another chair in the bedroom as I was working and would have liked a chair to allow me to work on the table
Pretty building and gardens, ideally situated for an event in Lymm. Very comfortable bed and all staff were friendly and helpful Breakfast was delicious and plentiful.
My double room was cramped and my husband and I were bumping into each other , but otherwise a comfortable and clean room.
Always enjoy staying at the Statham Lodge extremely friendly and helpful staff. Great served hot breakfast. The room was lovely and warm slept really well.
Hotel is just off the motorway, so really convenient but very quiet and surrounded by wooded gardens. Good sized bedroom and large comfy twin beds. Bathroom was very clean, with a shower over the bath. We had dinner in the restaurant, which is beautifully decorated and spacious. The food was well-cooked and nicely presented. Breakfast was included in our package and was well-cooked and varied.
Great location , beautiful gardens, comfy beds, great shower, amazing breakfasts and friendly staff.

Comfortable bed and very quiet room
Nothing
Lovely period property with terrific grounds… it could do with a few tweaks but nothing major. Very much old world charm in a grand way. Staff are great, you get a warm welcome with a huge personal touch. Do not miss the breakfast…. Lots of choice, the full English breakfast is one of the best we’ve had in years.
Nothing
Its character, and friendly staff. Set in beautiful grounds
Nothing at all
Breakfast was excellent. Good selection of freah fruit cereals pasties and cooked breakfast was well worth the price. The room was good, spacious and the grounds are lovely.
Nothing to complain about
room a decent size, very comfy bed, good pressure and temperature in shower, toiletries luxurious, plenty of fluffy towels, breakfast very good, especially liked that the pastries were warm, dinner as part of the wedding we were attending was very good, drinks were reasonably priced and a good selection available, all the staff we met were lovely.
only potential problem would be lack of a lift but we knew that before booking. would prefer a shower rather than a shower over the bath as my mobility is limited but it was manageable.
Location was perfect for visiting family. Plenty of parking. Excellent breakfast with various choices for a cooked breakfast.
