Spectacular gardens maintained by two friendly gardeners, how do they have time for all the topiary!
There was no reception you had to ring the bell then informed no dinner had to make do with charcuterie board which was vastly overpriced. Nobody informed us that this would be the case. This is wholly a wedding venue so would not recommend for a stay there.
Beautiful, so well kept and so comfortable…
No real reception
Such a beautiful building and surrounding grounds
It was all perfect.
Beautiful grounds, wonderful building all fabulously maintained and scrupously clean.
Nothing.
Room was lovely! Spacious, clean and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was wonderful. View was spectacular!
Loved everything.
The spacious and comfortable suite facing the lake and countryside was a delight. The staff treated us like we were special guests, due to their care, attention end respect. The walk on the enormous ground/ garden took our breath away. This is not your average five star hotel. It's also great value for money.
Late check-in
Beautiful place. Wonderful staff.
Şahane bir atmosferi var. Bahçesi ve binanın kendisi oldukça çekici. Kahvaltı çok keyifli. Sessiz ve huzurlu bir mekan
Odada klima yok ve sıcaktan eridim.
Character charm and grounds
Slightly overpriced
Location amazing and the staff were outstanding. All of the facilities were impeccable
However on arrival we were told that the ala carte menu was not available as it would be too hot for us to enjoy but in its place would be a cold platter. Surely we should have been advised prior to our arrival. No! We think this was due to us being the only guests staying! We were also charged an extra £20 pp for breakfast; which was excellent.Seems extraordinary this was not an inclusive rate. We hadn’t checked on air conditioning ( which was absent) but a fan was brought to our room which was hopeless in taking the temperature below 30c. The bathroom was unbearable as the towel rail was on and the on/ off valve was not working
More like staying in a country house than a hotel. Warm, welcoming - just beautiful in every way. The staff are fantastic and the views superb. There is some noise from the road nearby, but we didn’t notice it after a little while. One of the loveliest places we have stayed in.
Nothing
Outstanding attention to detail and great quality of finishing to the property and grounds. Room was very spacious. Great breakfast
Would have liked a lunch offer and a wider dining option
The property and location and gardens
WiFi did not work at all in the room and no restaurant open for an evening meal on a bank holiday weekend
Amazing hotel, great room, great garden and great views.
Everything Attention to detail Beautiful Hotel
How warm the room was.
Absolutely beautiful hotel with spectacular views of Ely Cathedral
Nothing! Some toad noise with the bedroom window open but that’s it.
I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The room was extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean, which made it easy to relax after a long day. The location is excellent—just a short distance from the centre of Ely, making it convenient for exploring the area. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, which added to the overall positive experience.
The only downside was that staff were a bit difficult to find at checkout, which caused a slight delay.
It’s an outstanding Jacobean building, with beautiful views out of every window
My only criticism was that maybe the drinks at the bar were a bit pricey - but that is the only thing I could say - other than that everything was fantastic
The hotel was exquisite, itsthe best we’ve been to in the uk.Room was comfortable.View was great.
Would be great if there had been a spar with treatments.Hot meal would have been better, rather than a grazing table.Especially in winter time.
All was superb.
Need a car to get to central Ely or taxi.
5 star celebrity treatment given by the amazing staff. The hotel must be seen to be believed, it is absolutely beautiful. The grounds are full of wildlife and everything in the hotel is of luxurious quality. The staff could not have been more curtious and helpful.
Just make sure you check if they are doing dinner because they don't always, although the cheese board that they provided was really nice.
Grounds and interiors 1st class! Super. Very comfortable room.
Quite noisy being so close to the road. Don’t arrive near 8 pm if you are dining as that is the time for last orders! Set menu. Couple of dishes with supplements which are on the high side. Breakfast is early too!
Beautiful surroundings
No hot water for shower
The most beautiful room I have ever stayed in. Beautiful decor throughout hotel. Incredibly comfortable bed. Huge bathroom. Fabulous friendly staff. Tea and cake in the afternoon. Tasty breakfast.
It was very hot in bedroom
Staff are incredibly accommodating. I book for my partner when he works away, the staff always ensure he has one of the rooms he likes - with outdoor access. Super comfy beds, immaculate rooms and great customer service all round.
Beautiful property well maintained and looked after. The stunning attention to detail with the landscape exterior grounds were amazing a must see to visit! Wow factor ! The lovely warm welcome we received from family member Antonio was lovely. The interior was very clean spotless and very neat & tidy. This is truly an enchanting stunning well preserved Historic building breath taking a must see for all !
We stayed in the Deluxe room and booked an evening meal for 7.30pm. Upon entering the restaurant our table was located to a couple not booked so we then had to wait 45mins later for our booked table. When deciding from the main menu dish of 4 items we were told the veal had all gone leaving 3 items to choose from? We waited some time for staff to assist whom was over busy with customers, no one was seen managing the restaurant. At one point three other staff were hanging about the bar area and not working as a team putting the customer first and not helping their team member whom was struggling with the waiting service. This was sad to see. Upon leaving as there’s no reception my husband was looking everywhere for a member of staff so we could pay our bill he knocked on staff door 3 times as well suddenly a lady took him to a lovely young man to pay. There needs to be a reception with a bell.
Lewis was great at the front of house

Es excelente en todo
Algo de ruido de la carretera cercana
Beautiful property with lovely staff especially Ili and Charley
Nothing!
Sehr schöne Unterkunft. Leider großer Straßenlärm von der nahegelegenen Schnellstraße
Room was beautiful
The hot water didn’t work when we arrived but got fixed in 4hrs
Gardens were superb
kettle in room
Location was gorgeous
No elevator
Very clean tidy setting. Grounds very well kept.Rooms very well kitted out. Communal area clean and tidy.
Check in time very regimented, 4.30 on the dot and not before. Check out time 10.00am on the dot, this was advertised. No reception desk of sorts. Had to ring on the door bell or knock on a closed office door. Another guest let us in which seemed odd. Paying premium rate yet seemed to be very little interaction with guests in our experience. Given verbal direction to room, asked question and reply was a bit curt in my opinion. Didn't feel warm and friendly.
Great hospitality and a wonderful welcome. Beautiful location, felt like staying for. Long time
Just excellent in every way.
Nothing
This is a beautiful property which has been renovated to an exceptionally high standard. The gardens are beautifully maintained with views across to Ely Cathedral. The internal rooms are very welcoming and there are several enticing areas to sit outside. Staff were excellent and the food was of a very high quality at a reasonable price. Our room was very clean and the beds were comfy. We absolutely loved this hotel
Loved it all!
Lovely gardens and beautiful facilities. Stunning bathroom. And the staff were brilliant.
The BBQ meal (cooked indoors as it was raining) was very nice, but the chicken was quite dry. We also didn’t realise we had to request a kettle for the room until we were in our pjs!
Beautiful place with very friendly staff
Extremely comfortable!
The non existing reception desk. We were left standing in the hall and the door closed behind your receptionist. Not a friendly feeling!
Warm welcome, lavish room and elegant surrounds
Great location with beautiful views of the magnificent cathedral. The grounds are a delight
The romantic setting, the diner, the breakfast, the spacious room. We were treated very well!
The rain but that is nothing typical in the UK I guess
The room was beautifully decorated and we had a balcony and a view of the landscaped gardens and the cathedral. The hotel has been extended sympathetically with the original property. We had breakfast on one of the mornings in the dinning room, which was excellent. There are plenty of secluded places to sit and relax in the surrounding gardens. It is also possible to walk into Ely from the hotel which we did on two occasions.
The only negative is the busy road nearby, but the ambiance of hotel and it's surroundings surpass this minor issue.
Beautiful old buildings sensitively modernised with lovely gardens and views.
Continuous traffic noise.
Fabulous refurbished Manor House accommodation. Superb quality both inside and out. Very close to Ely and the Cathedral. Very pleasant and professional staff. Food is superb and reasonably priced.
Only one problem is the busy roadside location. This makes leaving window open in bedrooms restrictive. They do however provide cooling fans to combat this. It would not stop us staying again. Weekday stay avoids weekend wedding parties.
fabulous period property in stunning grounds. An amazing view too !
Nothing
Absolutely stunning, meticulously clean. Great freshly cooked breakfast.
Beautiful clean spacious room. Amazing gardens and Lewis, in particular, was really friendly and helpful
Nothing, everything was great. Would have been nice if the restaurant was serving more than cheese/chacuterie in the evening
Everything … clean welcoming and beautiful Magnificent gardens and the room we stopped in was bigger than the whole of my house downstairs 😁
Nothing
The hotel exuded comfort and cosiness whilst being grand, welcoming and well appointed.
Apart from the bar not being open till 11 rather than 10 and there being no food available on the evening we were there, the overall experience with a lovely breakfast made up for this. Difficult to find anything else as a negative in this fairytale building set in beautiful grounds.
The room was really nice, large windows and super clean. The view over part of the garden was nice. The owner was very friendly & professional at checkout.
It was primarily a wedding hotel and I think there was only another couple staying on the night we stayed. This is not a negative as such but meant the hotel was extremely quiet with not much atmosphere. Again this isn't a big negative, just that we didn't read the info about the hotel properly. There was no dinner menu except a grazing board and we chose not to have this.
After many years staying in Ely for business I found this hotel. Which is the best around. Excellent stay.
All good
The hotel gardens were a delight with great views of Ely Cathedral. Inside the hotel was beautiful with no attention to detail spared. Our room was so pretty and comfortable. The staff were so welcoming and very keen to make our stay as good as they could .
Nothing it was perfect.
Location, grounds.
For the price, breakfast could be included.
This is such a stunning venue (indoors and outdoors), and it was a treat to stay here. The staff were so lovely, kind and helpful. The food and drink were delicious. I hope to return again some time.

Sehr schöne Lage (auch wenn hinter dem Hotel hörbar die Schnellstrasse vorbei führt). Sehr schöne Lokation mit tollem Aussenbereich.
Keine Minibar, keine Klimaanlage, kein Zimmersafe. Während unserem längeren Aufenthalt kein Restaurant abends und dürftiges Frühstück. Kein Hotel, sondern B&B. Hochzeitslokation.
Location, staff, room, ambiance, food

Everything. Location. Style. Comfort.
Not one thing.
Stunning views
Wonderful family owned and run establishment. Sensitive rebuilding of an old structure. Extravagant landscaping and a glorious view of Ely cathedral, especially at sunset.
Nothing
Beautiful building beautifully decorated lovely gardens
not being able to get into our room till 4.30 no full length mirror in room
I love this place! Beautiful interiors, friendly staff, tasty food!
For one hour later check out you have to pay additionally.
Calm open space with beautiful gardens too. Perfect for short stay
Nothing. It was perfect
Delightful staff, wonderful gardens and fabulous carrot cake. Such a shame the restaurant wasn’t open on the evening we stayed. Excellent.
Beautiful hotel with fantastic scenery and beautiful grounds
Breakfast was not what I expected for the price paid
Wow factor /very luxurious
Everything. It was just wonderful
Nothing
Staff - awesome Rooms - huge and immaculate Reception rooms - amazing Grounds - just brilliant Food perfect
That nothing was too much trouble to the staff!
Two flights of stairs! We should have asked for a first floor room! Old legs!
This is a beautiful old house with good staff. There are excellent views of Ely cathedral from higher floors. We would stay again.
There is no lift. For older or disabled people this may be a limitation. The busy road outside may cause noise in some rooms. It didn’t bother us.
Fantastic
