Homewood Suites by Hilton Grand Rapids Downtown

The only downside was how expensive it was.

It was conveniently located to our concert venue!

Location

Parking expensive and no valet.

Our two bedroom suite was spacious and had everything we needed for four people. There was great water pressure in the shower. The bedrooms were so incredibly quiet, and the beds were extremely comfortable. The sitting area was a relaxing, pleasant space for us all to meet up Even though we did not use the kitchen, it had everything that anyone would need to prepare a meal. The staff were very helpful, and the location was excellent to explore the city.

The coffee seemed like someone had forgotten to put in new grounds before brewing it. It had no taste, and there was no one around to ask if there may be a stronger pot elsewhere. (It WAS at the end of breakfast, so it's understandable that the breakfast team were possibly cleaning up in the back). Luckily, there were at least three great coffee shops within a five minute walk.

Excellent ammenities in this hotel! The room was clean, breakfast was a nice bonus, staff were very friendly! The location was perfect walking distance to the Acrisure Ampetheater, coffee shops, and restaurants. We walked everywhere! I highly recommend this hotel!

Paying for parking😪😪😪

The room had amenities I wasnt aware of. Excellent!

It would be great if there was a shuttle to locations close but to far to walk if your handicapped.

Rooms were so cozy and spacious. The area where the hotel is has so many fun spots super close by making it easy to find something to do without having to pay extra for transportation

Location and cleanliness

Breakfast staff was rude

I loved the overall feel of the hotel. The old charm of the building was restored while adding modern touches. It was so clean and inviting from the lobby/breakfast area, the room itself and the rooftop. Location was great as well!

I have nothing bad to say regarding this hotel and our stay there.

Everything!

Parking garage was very small

Rooftop was closed bc of smoke, the smoke wasn't that bad. Protesters very close to hotel made us feel uncomfortable. Wish we had a better view. Staff was amazing. Room was huge snd had everything we needed.

Very clean! So unique! Great location.

The location was great. Easy to walk to the Gerald Ford Museum and restaurants, and easy to access I-196. The staff was very friendly.

The ice machine on the 6th floor was very noisy.

Close to everything. Parking attached

Very elegant!

It was all good.

Good location; convenient parking; friendly & helpful staff; good extras: breakfast, water 24/7, umbrella, body lotion, good shower, very nice rooftop

Price of beer too inflated!! Extending breakfast until 10 would have been nice 😊

Everything was good

The television service was unreliable in that certain channels did disappear

Was in town for my Indian Tribe Gathering for Missing and Murdered Indigenous People and this hotel treated us like royalty. They were so interested in the MMIP 2026 March for Awareness we were doing. Asked about our Ribbon skirts we were wearing , great people. We will be back to stay next year as well. Thank you for the hospitality!!!

location was great. Staff were helpful. It was attached to the testing center where I was taking my exam.

It would have been nice if there were stores that were open a little later around the hotel. Everything was closed at 9 pm.

The breakfast was wonderful with great options. Loved the pool time we had. Parking was perfect! Easy in and out.

The only issue was squeaky floors but no biggie. .l

Location and the breakfast.

The fact that after paying for a room, I had to pay $40.00 a night for parking. Your hotel is not a resort!! Also, please invest in some decent pillows. My neck hurt every morning that I woke. The blower for the AC was loud and there was no way to shut it off!! I even asked management and they couldn’t help!! I was exhausted from lack of sleep!! I understood that the building was older and that’s one of the reasons that I chose it, but please do something about the noise in the HVAC

Great place to stay while visiting Grand Rapids for any events.

PRICE

Location

Difficult to gain access , poor updates . Tiny pool

Great location. Very clean, comfortable beds. Breakfast offerings were excellent too. Will definitely stay again if we are in the area.

Beautiful property

Exposed brick s d gorgeous floors . Best breakfast ever

Location. Clean. Friendly staff.

Walking through corridor to elevator to where check in desk is located.

Suite was spacious and comfortable. Great location downtown. Walking distance to lots of restaurants.

Very clean and nice rooms

Location

The room we got had a window that looked into a hallway and not the outside world. It was weird, I felt like I couldn’t have it open because someone on the other side of the hallway was looking. I wish I would have known that before booking.

The front desk person was amazing..friendly and helpful!

Clean, excellent staff

It was beautifully kept, clean, smelled amazing, and the staff was over the top friendly!

Nothing

The polite and attentive staff ,the ease to check in, the room was huge

Staff was great room was huge and clean

Extra 50 dollar charge upon arrival

could not connect to wifi

Nice cozy room

They had complementary water but never offered it until we asked.

This is my absolute favorite place to stay in GR! So easy to get to anywhere downtown and be within walking distance! The rooms are always amazing! The staff is always friendly and accommodating!

Bar wasn't open because staff called in

Breakfast was a nice variety, location was very convenient

Didn’t like having to pay for parking, or not at least getting some sort of discount

Clean and friendly workers

Staff was awesome. Room was great.

They aren't able to validate parking

Very cool atmosphere here. Good breakfast and exceptional staff. Terrific location within walking distance to Devos. Will stay again!

Nothing!

Ease of parking access, comfortable and spacious bedroom.

The kitchen area needs a garbage can and there was no bottle opener in the kitchen.

Great downtown location, parking ramp accessible without going outside. Lots of original wood floors, exposed brick walls. Staff was exceptional as was the breakfast, which was far beyond the typical hotel buffet!

The hotel itself was great! The gentleman at the front desk when we arrived was phenomenal. He went out of his way to upgrade us to a room with a nice view of downtown. The only amenities we took advantage of were the pool and complementary breakfast, both of which were great. The location of hotel was phenomenal. Nestled right downtown it was just a short walk to Van Andel Arena which was our nights destination. Definitely would recommend to anyone wanted to stay in downtown Grand Rapids!

The only downside of this hotel was that you had to pay for parking. It was $38 for a single day of parking, that seems outrageous for a $200 single night room.

The Staff was Very Friendly and Super helpful. The Room was Clean and Very modern!

The "View" was a Hallway lol....

Good location. Huge 2 bedroom suite. Very comfortable. Very quiet.

I love their facilities, and I love that they are functioning 24 hours, so you can check in anytime and have a snack at the snack bar at any time.

The room was large, very comfortable and very clean! The staff were very nice and helpful. The breakfast was included and delicious!

Nothing all was good!

Room ,location all fantastic ! I had repeatedly messaged about my late Checkin (around midnight) and no one replied ,guy on reception when I got in said it’s not booking.com(who I booked with) but all other properties reply ? I would’ve been more content having received reply .the hotel overall is excellent !

Reply ahead of Checkin ,that said Checkin guy v pleasant . Breakfast could be bit better -again lady on breakfast Monday morning could’ve have been nicer /more helpful,

Great amenities, clean, building has character, nice decor, good breakfast, helpful staff, sizeable vaulted ceilings, blackout curtains

Uncomfortably stiff/hard mattress, unsupportive pillows, creaky floors, poor soundproofing, rubbery couch

Friendly staff. Clean, modern facility. Convenient location.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The facility was very clean. Breakfast was fantastic! A bonus is the happy hour time and the beautiful rooftop!

great stay nice room

Lovely and well-designed quiet room in a perfect location! Walkable to lots of downtown locations like the GRAM, DeVos Place, the Public Museum— with many good restraints nearby. Kind and helpful staff. Would stay here again!

This is in an historic building thats been remodeled into mixed use space. We reserved a two bedroom suite (339) and it was very spacious however there were no exterior windows in bedrooms and the living room window looked out into a carpeted atrium. At first we thought it was a meeting space but never saw anyone using it but it did not feel very private so we kept the curtains shut. The beds were very comfortable and we appreciated there were ceiling fans in the bedrooms. The a/c unit whistled very loudly when turned on. The original wood floors were left in the rooms and they added alot of charm, however they were very creaky! The breakfast was pretty good and had a different selection of meats each morning w/eggs, muffins, cereals and fresh fruits. The location is very good with lots of resturants within a short walk and museums and sotes a short uber ride away. If in Grand Rapids we would stay here again but would request a higher floor.

Staff were amazing. Very clean and cozy atmosphere. Perfect location for exploring the city. The room has exposed brick which is beautiful.

Rooftop bar, Websters market open until 2am, location

The accessibility for disabled. My husband was on crutches and had to go up and down a lot of stairs to get into main parts of the hotel. Also a lot of the doors didn’t have the handicap button which would have helped.

Good breakfast and good location.

Noisy, beds hard and pillows hard.

This hotel had some charm . When we got there late , the front desk gave us a nicer room with a better view . I loved the exposed brick in the room . It has everything you need. Fridge , stove , microwave.. the room was mostly clean. There was some pink mold in the shower . The breakfast was cold , but I was happy they had overnight oats with oak milk and that oat milk was provided for cereal .. but had the same breakfast every day . Eggs and potatoes were cold . Was surprised there was no waffle iron or pancakes .. we stayed here mainly because it was Hilton and it was 3 min walking distance to the DeVos center where we were seeing a show. Everything is in walking distance. I didn’t know there would be a $38 parking fee every day … the bed wasn’t the comfiest but I have yet to experience that in my lifetime at a hotel . I love the welcome bag .. we got two waters and a chocolate bar that was really good . The floors are squeaky in the hallways but that I guess goes with the old charm . All in all we’d stay again .

Room was very large with a kitchenette.

The room had the faint smell of cigar smoke. Also there was only one window to the inside court. Being a bit claustrophobic, this was not perfect. The breakfast wasn't bad. The staff, however, was eating while bringing the food out which made it less appetizing. Parking wasn't included in the price of the hotel, and was super expensive - ~$30 for the night - a bit excessive for Grand Rapids.

Excellent location and staff. New.

Property was nice. Only issue was with TVs throughout. Had problems with service which meant opening college football was affected.

We only had one night in Grand Rapids but our stay at Homewood made us wish we planned for longer. Check in was great, Prentiss was very welcoming and helpful. Our room was clean and had everything we needed. The pool area was also very clean and saltwater pool was comfortably warm. Breakfast had great options- breakfast burritos, overnight oats and chia pudding were standouts that made this better that typical free breakfast. The building retained some of the historic details like exposed brick and hardwood floors, but everything felt modern and clean. We’ll definitely be back.

The rooms are very spacious and clean.

The location, the rooftop bar, the room and the front desk staff all top notch!

All they have is breakfast tacos for breakfast. Not conducive to families.

Breakfast left a lot to be desired. Also downtown Grand Rapids seems plagued with loud noisy cars late at night. This isn't the hotel's problem. I'm sure the other hotels have the same problem.

It was fantastic! We love this hotel since it’s clean comfortable and in walking distance of everything!

The complimentary breakfast was mentioned but the compimentery beer and wine on the roof and soup and salad in the breakfast area was an unexpected delight. After beeing on the road most of the day it was nice not to have to go out.

Amazing staff. All so kind and informative. Bed was extremely comfortable. Room AC was perfect over the extreme heat this past weekend. The ceiling fan was clutch!!! Great to have full size fridge, microwave and dishwasher as well as dishes if needed. Great location for downtown, as you are within walking distance of tons of shops, restaurants and bars.

Room was spacious and comfortable. I really enjoyed the breakfast! Fresh and hot with different options each day. Front desk , Anwar, was a great host and very friendly. Thanks for a great stay.

Good breakfast, great location, staff was kind and accommodating

Paid for a city view and the view was of a parking lot.

The place is beautiful and convenient with it being close to everything. Rooftop bar was great too

Nothing

The breakfast was interesting as it featured breakfast burritos. I was disappointed it did not have biscuits and gravy and the eggs were powdered

My room view was a wall and did not look out at the city.

I was most impressed with the parking situation. I was concerned before arriving that parking and loading and unloading over 300# of luggage and gear would be a problem, but that was not the case at all. The area reserved for use in the parking ramp was on the same level as our room, so rolling our cart from the car to the room every day was quite a simple chore. Other than that, the room was clean, comfortable, roomy, and well furnished. And the staff was friendly and very helpful.

The whole staff was exceptionally professional and accommodating, especially James at the front desk. Our stay was mostly pleasant at Homewood Suites: the room was spacious and clean, the hotel typically quiet, and the free Thurs. eve "apps and drinks reception" was a nice touch.

The only sub-par thing, I'd have to say, was the breakfast. For a hotel this "upmarket," this expensive; there was too little to choose from and the hot items that were available were largely unpalatable.

Perfect

Lovely stay and lovely property!

The staff was great, and we loved the location. We walked to several businesses. The room was awesome. The Sundance Grill was also great so you don't even need to leave the building to get good food.

Beautiful property in a great location of Grand Rapids.

Awesome experience, plenty of parking, secure and safe facility. Staff was nice and helpful

NICE

At first I was put off that the hotel lobby was on the 2nd floor of the building but after I realized the history of the building, I understood why.
