Calm House Hotel Hoi An 1

The accommodation has a beautiful setting, we stayed in a room on the second floor with a balcony and a view to the river. The room is comfortable with lovely wooden furniture. AC and a fan provide for an incredibly comfortable stay. But the best thing of all was the lovely hospitality from Sarah and Flowers herself (the owner), their English is great and they looked after us with such care, provided many options for activities to do within the day, liaised and organised taxis/ trips/ and anything we would request. We only ate one meal at the restaurant on site - it was affordable and very tasty, and as a vegetarian (who many times in Vietnam have accidentally ordered meat) it was lovely to have a full vegetarian traditional Vietnamese hoi an menu to choose from. A wonderful stay - we would highly recommend!

Nous avons séjourné moi et ma copine 5 nuits dans ce charmant hôtel. Les dames de l’accueil sont très à l’écoute et souriante. Nous nous somme sentie très bien accueilli dès notre arrivée. Elles prennent le temps de répondre à nos demandes et se soucient du bien être de leur client. L’établissement est très propre et dispose d’une grande piscine ouverte 24/24h avec un service restaurant. De plus, en quittant l’hôtel moi et mon amie avions oublié des affaires dans la chambre. Nous étions déjà partie pour Ho Chi Min quand elles nous l’on signalé. Le lendemain matin, elles ont fait parvenir un colis contenant nos affaires à la réception de notre nouvelle hôtel, sans rien réclamer en retour. Je recommande très fortement cet hôtel et suis vraiment heureuse d’avoir choisis et séjourner la bas !

We stayed at The Calm House in Hoi An for four weeks, and by the time we left, it truly felt like we were saying goodbye to a second home. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and always beautifully clean, with the most peaceful view over the river. We loved looking outside and watching the fishing boats pass by and the water buffalo in the distance. It was such a special way to experience a quieter, more authentic side of Hoi An. The location was perfect for us. It is away from the busy crowds and tourist areas, so you can really relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings, while still having easy access to everything Hoi An has to offer. But what made our stay truly unforgettable was Flower, the manager, and her wonderful staff. From the beginning, they welcomed us with so much warmth and kindness that we quickly felt like part of their family. Flower helped us with all of our bookings, answered our questions, and was always there whenever we needed anything. After four weeks, it didn't feel like we were simply leaving a hotel — it felt like we were leaving people we had genuinely grown close to. We were truly sad to say goodbye. We have such wonderful memories of our time at The Calm House and would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting Hoi An. Especially if you are planning a longer stay, this is a wonderful place to slow down, feel at home, and experience a different side of Hoi An. Thank you, Flower and everyone at The Calm House, for making our four weeks so special. ❤️ We hope we can come back one day!

Tout! L’emplacement est parfait car il est à la fois proche du centre historique mais assez éloigné pour être au calme. La vue sur le fleuve est magnifique. Les gérantes sont adorables et hyper compétentes! Le lit est confortable et propre. La maison est très jolie dans l’esprit familial vietnamien <3 ça a été un très beau séjour. Merci!

Great little hotel on the edge of Hoi an so quiet and away from the chaos of the old town but still only a 15 minute walk. The pool is small but refreshing and service is a standout. All the staff went extra mile to be helpful and make our stay as pleasant as possible. I would stay again if in Hoi An

I had a lovely stay at Calm House - the staff were so accommodating and kind, and made me feel like part of the family while I was there! They helped with everything from moving my room so I could have a better view to organizing my transportation to help me save money. Incredibly kind and warm place!

El día que llegamos fue un poco caótico, la piscina no estaba llena y todo el patio en construcción, en nuestra habitación (3er piso) había dos murciélagos. Al avisar en la recepción otro huésped dijo que sacó 7 de su habitación y 5 el día anterior. Nos cambiaron a otra y estuvo bien. La piscina no la pudimos usar porque estaba en obras y cuando se llenó, estaba la familia de la dueña y era incómodo estar ahí ya que eran muchísimos

Construction work really early in the morning without warning. Pool couldn’t be used, it was very hot and the AC was only running from 9:30-8. When asked whether they could turn on the ac earlier they said “no, 9:30” even though it was not a timer but had to be turned on manually. Lights on the bed were not working, one bed had no curtain, another had no working fan. The bathroom was rarely cleaned and the bin not emptied. Only two lockers for 8 beds. One person of the staff was sleeping in the dorm and was really annoyed by the noise of the guests.

Le personnel était adorable. Les chambres spacieuses, confortables avec la climatisation. Le petit déjeuner était très bon et la piscine était appréciable avec cette chaleur. Le personnel nous a fait de bonnes recommandations pour nos sorties. Tout est à proximité de l’hôtel. Ils proposent un service pour laver le linge et des scooter à louer.

The hotel was nice, room was large and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful upon arrival and during stay.

The reason for the lower score is because, although the staff were lovely and helpful whilst we were there, nobody let us know upon booking that the entire pool and restaurant area was closed for renovation for our entire stay. This was disappointing as I booked specifically somewhere with a pool. They did agree to refund minus one night if we found somewhere else but at such short notice I couldn’t find anywhere suitable. So it’s worth calling to check the status of the construction before if you’re visiting soon!

The staff at Calm House 1 are very lovely people. Very helpful and friendly in all ways. I was suffering from the heat in HoiAn city and decided to cut short my stay and move to a nearby beachside. Rosy and Lee the managers were very understanding and helpful. I highly recommend Calm house.

Clean and comfortable rooms with a great location — easy to get to and leave from. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and gave us great recommendations, including the coconut forest which was a highlight of our trip!

Had a great time here. Room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Great location. Away from all the hustle and bustle but close enough to walk into the main hub. Staff were fantastic, very helpful and friendly. Breakfast so good and lots of it. Highly recommend staying here. Lots of great tips for places to go and great restaurants to eat at.

- Home yêu cầu trẻ em bơi ở bể phải có người lớn ngồi canh, trong khi con mình học lớp 7 cao 1m7 rồi vẫn phải cần người lớn ngồi canh nếu không sẽ đuổi không cho bơi. Rong ruổi cả ngày trên đường đến Home tưởng được nghỉ thì phải xuống ngồi canh con bơi vì có vấn đề gì Home không chịu trách nhiệm, nghĩa là Home cũng nghĩ cái bể bơi này không an toàn. Vấn đề này gia đình nào con nhỏ nên cân nhắc. - Không có ấm đun nước trong phòng, cần nước nóng thì xuống lễ tân đun giúp. - Mình để quên dây sạc ở Home và nhân viên trả lời ko có hỗ trợ gửi bưu cục để gửi về nhà được, không hề có thái độ hỗ trợ khách mà hỏi ngược khách luôn phải làm thế nào. Nếu book ship giao ra bưu cục thì phí là 100k.

Le ragazze sono super disponibili, sorridenti e gentili, pronte ad aiutare in tutto e a consigliarti le migliori opzioni in città. Personalmente trovo la location perfetta per stare fuori dal caos del centro e godere del silenzio per riposare bene. 2 minuti con le bici siete nel vivo del paese e con un grab la spiaggia è facilmente raggiungibile. Consigliatissimo

La agua de la ducha no tenía mucha presión. En el momento de la salida, nos pidieron que pagáramos el agua embotellada que había en la habitación encima de la mesa - no en la nevera. Esto no nos lo habían mencionado a nuestra llegada, y en muchos otros alojamientos, el agua embotellada que suele estar en la mesa junto con sobres de té y café suelen ser un gesto de bienvenida. Esto nos pilló por sorpresa.

Very nice people and interior. Comfortable beds and a little balcony that we enjoyed a lot. For the price a precious homestay. Calm area since you have to walk about 10min to the main area - supermarket and restaurants right infront your door.

The aircon works well but turning it off/ on lead to drops on the bed. But I‘m pretty sure it can be fixed. You have to walk over a bridge to get into the center which is a little bit inconvenient but nothing that had a big impact on our stay.

Perfect location, not far from the city centre but very calm and quiet. Rooms are very spacious and the staff is really nice and ready to accommodate all your requests

Ruhige Lage auf der Insel und sehr schöne Aufenthaltsmöglichkeiten im Eingangsbereich. Sehr bequeme Betten im Dorm, der nach hinten zum Garten ist daher kein Straßenlärm. Ich war die gesamte Zeit fast alleine im Zimmer. Zur Innenstadt benötigt man 15 min zu Fuß. Das Bad ist ans Zimmer angrenzend und es gibt eine Duschkabine, was ungewöhnlich ist. Man hat einen eigenen kleinen Ventilator überm Bett. Es gibt ein Bügelgerät, daher konnte ich tatsächlich mal das zerknitterte Kleid aus dem Rucksack anziehen.

Die Freundlichkeit des Personals, die Lage der Unterkunft, die Größe des Zimmers.

Leider hat das Zimmer 31 ein Schimmel(geruch)problem. Sobald ich die Klimaanlage anmachte strömte der Schimmelgeruch in das Zimmer und füllte den Raum. Ich war zwei Nächte dort und die Kleidung die ich während des Schlafens an hatte roch auch noch Tage danach muffig nach diesem Geruch. Bei Ankunft im Zimmer hat das Personal ein Duft- Gerät aus der Steckdose entfernt, sodass ich vetmute, dass dieses Problem auch den Gastgebern bekannt ist. Das Inventar ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen, was per se nicht schlimm ist. Hinte dem Kopfteil vom Bett ist ein sichtbares Loch in der Wand. Die Straße ist abends viel ruhiger als im Oldtown von Hoi An, wenn man gegenüber Straßenlärm empfindlich ist, ist der Schlaf jedoch nicht erholsam. Die Fenster sind leider gar nicht schalldämmend. Tut mir leid für diese schlechte Bewertung aber ich möchte ehrlich sein.

Etwas ruhiger gelegen, nicht ganz im Trubel. 10 bis 15 min bis in die Altstad zu Fuß. Fahrrad- und Scooterverleihe in der Nähe Restaurants und Minimärkte in der Nähe Frühstück auswählbar von der Karte. Kleine Auswahl aber völlig ausreichend. Restaurant und Zimmer hübsch eingerichtet. Lädt zum Verweilen ein.

Der Poolbereich ist etwas vernachlässigt. Bislang nicht sehr einladend, aber ich hoffe daran wird gearbeitet

Room was ideal with a great view of the river. Good location a short distance away from the craziness of the centre of Hoi An. Staff were amazing. Lee and Rosy made us feel at home & we especially loved the giant pizza night & the egg coffee lesson.

We really enjoyed our stay at Calm House. The staff were extremely attentive, helpful, and consistently friendly, which made us feel very welcome throughout our visit. The house itself truly lives up to its name and has a unique charm. Overall, everything was fine, and we had a pleasant stay mainly thanks to the excellent staff and the unique character of the property.

We had booked the suite under the roof, as it appeared more spacious and high-quality in the photos. However, in reality, this was not entirely the case. Due to the sloped ceilings, the room actually felt no larger than the others—possibly even smaller. Additionally, the room showed some signs of wear and tear. It was quite humid, and there were stains and small patches of mold visible on the walls. Overall, the photos on Booking no longer fully reflect the current condition of this particular room, which seems to have seen better days. At checkout, we were asked to pay for the bottled water provided in the room. This had not been mentioned to us upon arrival, and in many other homestays bottled water is usually included in the price as a complimentary welcome gesture. This came as a small surprise at the end, even if it may not have been intended that way.

Les chambres sur la rue sont bruyantes. Nous aurions probablement dû demander celle qui donne sur l’arrière de la bâtisse. Le petit déjeuné est rudimentaire, des fruits seraient les bienvenus. La piscine est pas très avenante

Quand je réserve une suite je ne m'attends à avoir une chambre quelconque sans rapport avec les photos. Me demander de sortir de mon lit à 22h pour venir payer en cash car ils ont oublié de demander lors du checkin.

Beautiful building, the staff are amazing and very welcoming. We were given some really helpful advice to make our 4 days in Hoi. The location is great, just a 15 minute stroll to the centre of the old town but far enough away to feel relaxed and peaceful. Breakfast here is fantastic, especially when I compare it to other places I’ve stayed in Vietnam.

Die Altstadt ist fußläufig erreichbar und auf dem Weg dahin befinden sich viele Restaurants. Im Haus selber sind keine Straßenschuhe erlaubt, was dem ganzen ein ganz warmes Gefühl gibt. Uns wurde zuverlässig mit buchen von Taxis geholfen.

Für das Frühstück kann man auf einer Karte wählen. Leider war jeden Tag ein Teil des Angebotes nicht verfügbar.

Sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis und sehr gute Lage zu der Altstadt.

Wir waren fünf Tage hier. Sehr freundliche, liebe und sehr zuvorkommende Beschäftigte (Man sagte uns zum Beispiel auch einmal umsorgend, wir würden zu viel Kaffee trinken <3 ). Wunderschöne Atmosphäre, Inneneinrichtung und Bauelemente aus dunklem Holz im traditionellen Stil, schöne Musik, tolles Frühstück (Das Cao Lầu hat uns hier besser geschmeckt, als in unserem Lieblingsrestaurant in der Stadt) Recht ruhige Straße und vor allem sind für Zimmer nach Hinten raus sehr ruhig, dort gibt es nur Flusslandschaft, sehr schön. Sehr schöne, zentrale Lage (und gleichzeitig nicht mittendrin im totalen Gewusel). Sehr bequeme Betten. Das Hotel hat auch Dorms. Toller Gemeinschaftsbereich unten. Wir reisen immer preisbewusst, wollen aber saubere Zimmer und gute Atmosphäre. Da geben wir sehr selten einmal eine 10 Punkte Bewertung. Hier hat es uns allerdings so gut gefallen, dass es nicht leicht fällt, überhaupt genügend angemessene Worte zu finden für diesen schönen Ort.
