Mango Garden Hoi An Homestay

They sent me an email telling me they were fixing the place and I should find somewhere else. They then told Booking.com my card didn't work, which was a lie. I'm not certain, but I've got a feeling they didn't want me, because I used a Ugandan phone number and they assumed I was black!

Everything could have been better.

Es con entrada a parte y eso te da una libertad genial , la chica es súper simpática y muy relajada . Se pueden estacionar motos y bicicletas. Pieza amplia , en la noche si habían un poquito de insectos pero nada en comparación a otros lugares , el lugar tiene mucho verde y árboles , por ende es normal encontrar bichitos .

No es tan céntrico , pero aún así hay varias opciones de comida y tiendas alrededor .

Lovely stay at Mango. The family are so sweet and the room was comfortable, very clean and had great natural light. The laneway is quiet but there are ample coffee places, restaurants and shops around. We loved that it wasn't in the Old Quarter but still close enough to walk. They hire scooters for $120K vnd/ day and have knowledge of local buses and activities. The air-conditioning wasn't super strong but was definitely sufficient.

No water offered but you can purchase bottles for very cheap, and can buy 5L bottles at the little shop at the end of the lane. They provide room service (changing your towel everyday, cleaning etc) which is OK but it's not optional, so maybe offering a "please clean/ do not disturb" sign to hang on the door would be good. Very minimal issues overall though!

Super nice host, really smiley and helpful with everything we needed. Rooms were big and the bed was comfortable and the air con worked great. Only ten minutes walk to the fabric market and old town, would definitely stay again!

The staff were very kind and the location was convenient. It was a wonderful hotel that I would like to use again.

The location is great, very close to the market and the historic center. The staff is incredible, very friendly and accommodating. Always willing to help with information, booking of services, etc. Rooms are clean and big enough, same goes for the bathroom. If again in Vietnam, I will certainly return.

The air conditioner was not so good

We stayed at Mango Garden Homestay for 5 nights and would recommend it to anyone visiting Hoi An. It’s within walking distance of the Ancient Town, offers tours & shuttle services. Our room was clean & comfortable, we were given free toiletries and fresh towels every other day. It was basic but great value for money.

The bathroom is shared, this wasn’t an issue for us and there was never a “queue”, but just something to be aware of. Although we didn’t do any tours or shuttles, I think the prices quoted were a bit higher than some we saw round town

Lovely place, good location, short walk to both the old town centre & rice paddy fields. Staff were so lovely, they let us check in early😊 room was big and bed was so comfortable. Nice and quiet so got excellent sleep. They also cleaned the rooms every second day which was excellent. Would highly recommend ! We also rented bikes for 30k VND

I liked it all

It was a nice property around 10-15 minutes walk from the famous river front of Hoi An and the walk was very nice through the old town. The host of the homestay was absolutely lovely and let us leave our bags there after we had a very early night bus to arrive and then let us leave bags until we left on a late night bus a few days later! Would highly recommend this homestay as it's great for travellers on a budget! Thank you ☺️

The cleaning of the rooms wasn't amazing, there was a huge clump of hair stuck on the bathroom wall and some dead bugs around the room and a dirty toothbrush behind the toilet, the aircon also made a dripping noise through the night. Nothing major and we can't really complain for the price we paid! Thank you ☺️

Friendly hostfamily. Big room. Good cleaning in the room every day including clean towels. Nice and peaceful location, walking distance to the old town and many restaurants and shops nearby. Cheap bicycle rental, only 30 000 VND/day. Cheap and good laundry service, only 30 000 VND/kg.

The pressure from the shower was quite bad. The air in the room was little bit humid and we couldn’t get our wet towels dry.

親切で良い距離感を持ってくれるスタッフと、寝心地の良いベッドで良い滞在になりました。北側の通りに出て左に行ったところにある売店が便利で、飲み物やシャンプーなどひととおり揃います。毎日行きました。朝ご飯には通りを右に行ったところにあるMe ga屋台が美味しかったです。old cityから少し離れているので比較的静かですが、近くにレストランもたくさんあります。old cityとは違った雰囲気の街歩きを楽しみました。

Nice and simple, has everything you need for a short stay. The room was clean and the personnel is nice and helpful. Can arrange for early check-in and late check-out if needed, just ask in advance

The owner of this property was so helpful. She organised bus trips and tours for us. We were able to do everything we wanted in the short time frame that we had. She also gave lots of good recommendations. The location of the property was great, it was far enough away from the hustle and bustle so it was quiet but it was easy walking distance to everything.

The property is beautiful, the front garden is great to sit in. Some days and evenings I would sit and read my book and enjoy the view. It has a very peaceful atmosphere. The lady who works at the front (Kieu) is so kind and lovely, she helped me with anything I had to ask. If I ever come back to Hoi an, I will be staying here.

The location was good, cleaned and spacious room.

We went out for the sightsee we realise that they enter to the room to clean but nobody told us anything. We were not comfortable by someone entering our room without asking on our absence. Also, we had to do early check in, I was very sick and they charge us more than the half price of the room. We found this not nice.

Location, lady at the front was very kind. Towels were changed everyday. Beds comfy, good wifi. Lots of coffees and restaurant close by.

Needs lots of housekeeping throughout the room and maintenaince. Room service was only making the bed and changing the towels. The bathroom was forgotten. Many of the photos don't really match what the homestay actually was.

Very close to the ancient town, lovely and quite. Great air conditioning which was needed!

Mattress was comfortable.

For a budget backpacker, this will fit your basic needs for 1-2 days. I wouldn’t recommend this place for a longer stay. Everything can use an upgrade (I.e. stained sheets, thread barren towels, soap options). All basic hospitality items are available - laundry, breakfast, bicycles, and motorbikes but everything comes with a cost. The only reason I ended up staying more than 2 days was because of food poisoning. Had I not gotten sick I would have checked out early for a stay that was more upgraded.

One of the best homestay we had the chance to stay in Vietnam. The owner is very helpful, always smiling and ready to help. Breakfast is delicious. The room is clean. We also did laundry here and clothes smelled really good afterwards. Recommended!

The rented bikes and scooter are not in the best conditions

In a quiet side lane close to the river for walks into town. Peaceful with nice outdoor space. Very nice cotton sheets and towels. Very big room. Staff are lovely.

The host organised a bus to take us to Da Nang airport. Our laundry was done for very cheap. The host showed us how to get to the Hoi An Memories Show using the map she gave us. The location of this homestay is great, not too far from the Old town, and close to the Hoi An Memories show, with lots of cafes and restaurants nearby.

This was the first homestay that they didn't offer a bottle of water for free, however it is available for very cheap in the fridge. There were a few mosquitoes in the room but that's hard to help.

The family is wonderful and so helpful. They cleaned our room everyday, it’s close to the city centre and they helped us with everything we needed. Would 100% recomend staying there 10/10.

The lovely hostess, very warm en feeling like having my own Vietnamese Mother. She was looking after you and taking good care. Im really gonna miss her! Want to learn her secret of making excellent egg bahn mi! Hihi

The owner is super lovely and helpful. You can rent a bike or make a laundry here as well. She recommended us really good tailor as well. The location was pretty good, short walk from city center, there is cafe with good coffee nearby as well.

Ms Q was wonderful and very accommodating. When we needed help even for things that were not her problem, she helped a lot. Great Vietnamese coffee and much cheaper than anywhere else. She got us breakfast at normal prices even though she went out to get it. The day trip she arranged to Marble Mountain was amazing. I thought for the price we paid the room was very good.

The only thing wrong (not really her fault) was the bus trip from Hoi An to Hue. Ms Q uses the Travel Camel Bus, and that company is terrible!!!

Value for money. This is a cheap and good option for travelers who want to explore Hoi An and not just stay and relax at the room. Everything was clean and of decent quality.

Rooms were not exactly as we saw in the pictures but it was clean so no issues. The coconut boat trip is one thing which was a waste of time. It was boring and the boat just went one round around the lake and came back.

This is such an incredibly friendly and helpful place. The lady in charge helped me a lot, booking a bamboo boat trip and arranging shared transport to My Son. It all worked out perfectly. Spacious clean room. Everything works here. Plenty of hot water, powerful aircon and excellent WiFi. Location seemed a bit off the track at first look, but the touristy area of Hoi An has expanded over the years, so it's not.

The cozy outdoor covered sitting area with tables, chairs and lanterns, which I saw on the photos, is gone. There are however some tables and chairs.

A super comfortable bed! The room was a spacious size and well presented. The Guesthouse is in a good quite location that is still in walking distance to the centre of the town. The staff are lovely and always willing to assist people. I will definitely be re-booking if I come back to Hoi An.

The lady at the Homestay was the sweetest and gave us a lot of tips, offered to help us out when we needed it (for example with booking things like the coconut boats), cleaned our room and gave us new towels every day! In general, she was so nice and I can’t recommend this homestay enough! It was also very close to the city and the central- and night market, which was nice!

Spacious room, daily cleaning, extremely helpful and polite lady on reception (probably owner). Quiet and great location

Nice hot water. Only cotton sheets so it did get cold in the night. We rented bikes from the home stay which was cheap and a brilliant way to get around. They also booked us our coconut village boat very cheaply so we didn’t have to do a big expensive tour.

Not as in the picture of the white tables and chairs. Bedroom needed a lick of paint.

We stayed here a week and it has been our favorite stay so far. The room was extremely clean, the shower was not like a typical wet room since it was a long room with the shower in the corner. The host came in everyday to change our sheets, towels and take out the trash if needed. She greeted us with a big smile every time she saw us and was always helpful. She also offers laundry serviced as well as a lift to the airport that beats all the other prices around. 10/10 recommend!

Room smell humedity. Window was inside the corridor. Internet didn’t work well. They have a small kid and it was shouting and crying really early in the morning. We were for relax a little in the afternoon because we were sick, and he didn’t stop crying.

This place was a little gem. Really close to the centre, super clean, had air conditioning and hot water and the owner was lovely!

The shower pressure was slightly low but that’s me being picky!

Our host was great with providing us with lots of information on where to go and places to eat. The room was as expected and very comfortable. I would recommend and stay here again

Really cute and nice. The host is so friendly and wanted to help us with anything. The location is good because you aren’t too far from everything, but out of the busy part. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Only one strange thing was they serviced our room everyday but didn’t empty the bins or take any rubbish.

Clean, quiet and comfortable rooms. Good location near the old town. Staff was pleasant and helpful. We arrived before our check in time and were able to go to our rooms early. The owner was lovely, spoke great English, did our laundry and arranged our onward travel to Hue. I would definitely stay again!

The host was nice and the whole place was very clean.

Forget about the common areas, hammocks and dinning tables. There were only for Booking pictures. The room was just OK.

Super lovely place, felt like a cute home. The location is REALLY nice! It’s a walking distance for the Centre, but this road has many nice coffee shops, a nice park and cheap family-run restaurants. I preferred this area to the Old Town - would highly reccomend! The owner is so so lovely! She is kind and very helpful. She helped us book our bus to Da Lat and we could rent bikes at the property whenever we wanted. I loved cycling to the beach and we always came back to a super clean room.

Wish we had a window with a view, and wish that the bathroom had a fan to make it less moist!
