So far so good
Even though the room is spacious, there are some roaches roaming around when you’re out of the room. The staff are accommodative. I really appreciate one staff that helped me to roam Saigon. I’ve tried some of the Vietnamese foods through her. The thing is you need to have Google Translate to communicate to the staff.
Servces need improve ,room need clean every day
I stayed 15 evenings so had a thorough experience of this hotel. Even though this place is right by Benh Thanh Market (which is a very busy area) my room was quiet. Understand though that I was facing the back of the building. I like the staff here, they were all very friendly and helpful and attentive. You might see some comments in other reviews about the conditions of the building (rooms/hallway need a coat of paint, elevator maintenance, bugs sometimes--which is common anywhere in SE Asia even at the Hilton--etc..) but for the price you pay for the convenience you get and the friendliness of the staff I'd say this is a good value hotel. I will stay again in the future.
The hotel is in need of serious updates. Especially the mattresses, they’re very firm, and basically feel like concrete. The night staff is friendly and helpful, as is the day staff. I really liked Dat and Kim Chi. The hotel staff is very professional.
Location was great. Several great places to eat in District 1 within walking distance. Clean and friendly service. Quiet. Very competitive rate. Highly recommend.
The total bathroom needs upgrade. Molded shower is heath issue.
Staff are helpful. Good location. The facility is ok. Breakfasts are not in-house.
They charge missing items while we never use or see them.
Room was meant to be luxury as i paid for. Paint off walls, cables for tv hanging out everywhere. Ants on walls. They have a flask but no kettle. If you want hot water for a tea call reception they bring it to your room for your flask. Breakfast ansolutely shocking. A sandwhich with no drinks. We asked if we could have at least a tea. They said at extra cost wow. The only plus on this hotel is location. Fantastic location. About 30 other hotels on the same street. Use them id suggest.
So many poor words to describe this place. It needs a whole new renovation
Location
great location, friendly staff
Great location near Ben Than Market, Reunification Palace and walking distance to the War Remnants Museum. Vietnam Adventure Tours office across the street is very convenient if you’re looking for day trips outside the city. Overall the hotel was ok. Lobby and hallways always smelled of smoke. The property looked nicer in the pictures online. Probably would choose a different hotel for our next visit.
Good service & very helpful
Room is big but, There is no hot water in the sink, no kettle, no tea, no Kleenex, mattress is to old , it hurts our back. Breakfast is not buffet,…
Great location and proximity to many street activities
Stayed here for 6 days and I don't recommend it. If you need place to stay for a day or two its good but not any longer. My room smelled, little dirty, and had small bugs (ants) running around. There was also some on my bed. But I guess you get what you pay for...
The hotel needs to be renovated. Staff is very good 5 star for this. Location 5 star Only thing needs renovation in hotel rooms and bathrooms, Specially bathrooms.
Property was mostly okay. Not clean though. Found condom rapper between the mattress and bed frame
It's the city so expect a lot of beeping horns during business hours and up until 10 at night. Everything in the room was clean and functional. It's not brand new, but great deal for $26/nt.
My room needs some upgrade. Not to clean
Everything is good except for the mattress, it's hard.
No window, no hot water, the pillow was terrible. To expansive for what we get.
Excellent. Very charming. I would stay here again. Decent price.
Convenient around that it is
The vent and floor were quite dusty. Everything in the room except for the bed frames need to be fixed or updated.
Two night stay in District 1. Central location. Great value. Confusing charges for room water. Bed is very hard. Nice breakfast and very functional room.
It was in a great location
After traveling 24 hrs and arriving at 1am super tired, all i could wait for was to be able to go to sleep. Unfortunatley, once i got into my room, i was disgusted...it smelled like mold, i could t breathe, could t sleep, got soar throat from tryingv to sleep, never slept..dirty all the way around, bed lumpy, filthy...dont waste your time..spend few more dollars and go somewhere else
Our 5th stay in the last 2 years as the location is near everything without having any noise issues. Friendly and efficient staff and the room has everything you need with plenty of space to unpack. Will be back next time we're in VN/HCMC.
Everything
It was ok
The bedsheets were not very clean and there was hair on the bedsheets! There was next no hot water in the shower, it was cool water not even warm. Finish on the sink was awful, needed a new sink a long time ago. Staff was very nice and cooperative.
Hotel is in terrible condition. Everything is old and dilapidated. There is a smell in the room and the bathroom is full of dead ants. The staff has attitude and included breakfast is terrible. They serve only 4 options and 3 out of 4 are not available. DO NOT RECCOMEND
Need to be clean
Room and bathroom is old. Good location
Staffs is very nice and friendly, like family
Very friendly staffs
Friendly staffs
Great location only a minute from Ben Thanh market area. The room is very clean, decent size, and comfortable. The reception staff were friendly and organised our bus to the Mekong. We previously stayed here in June and will be back.
The Place is great and the staffs are very accommodating and friendly.
The staff were friendly, check-in was easy, location is close to everything but not loud. We stayed in 803 (mid-size room of their 3 options), nice size, bed reasonably soft for Vietnam, A/C, wifi, and shower good. We left some of our bags with the reception for a few days whilst in Hue and returned for 2 more nights before we returned home. Will be staying again later in the year when we're in HCMC.
Thank you, very good services and nice place to buy something and eat.
the happy land hotel is located at a very convenient spot, walking distance to all the sightseeing places. The staff are polite and nice but speaks limited English. Travellers like me who don’t want to give taxi scam a chance could choose this hotel, it’s very easy to reach from the airport by public transport.
Staffs are very professional, great location and friendly service
Friendly staff, clean room and excellent location. Over all, I’m 😃
Staffs were not good service. Mattress is a bad. I wont be come back this hotel any more ahead.
It was a pleasure staying at HappyLand. Good location & Great Staff.
It was a pleasure staying at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. Good location
Its Instructions for all the switches are amazing.
Location is at central of everything. Convenient for shopping
So far, so good! Just checked in 4/17, moved in and out through 3 rooms already ( my bad, not theirs because my plan changes), so I have learned that all rooms are in very good condition. Will come back here again for sure!
The room is big, aircond is cold enough and the toilet shower water is strong. However, the bed was too hard and noisy sound when have movement on bed. The room was a bit old and my room toilet water stuck and need to request hotel to service.
Good stay and very nice service from staff.
Very congested room though we booked so called luxury room. Breakfast was a big disaster. The staff was very cooperative and friendly. Breakfast area is tiny.
It is good but sometimes the wifi keeps disconnecting.
Great hotel close to everything. Clean and comfortable with great staffs, breakfast is just typical just to get by nothing special. But value for the money!
No have free water to drink... the breakfast is very bad
Breakfast needs to improve (nothing good to eat). Service is great from the clerks. The main lobby is so dark due to the owner saving electricity.
The location was perfect and price was fair. Our flight was delayed and didn’t get to the hotel until 1:30 am and they were nice to make sure they kept the door open for us. The breakfast choices were terrible and some of the food was stale. It’s a nice place to get a quick stay for shopping or waiting to catch a flight.
They not allowed to stay more than 2 person in the room even though the bed is big enough. Need to pay extra i. e. USD15 for another person per night for extra bed. So be careful when u book the room. Please consider head count.
its good
We stayed 3 nights here before heading home from 3 weeks in Vietnam. The location was the best part - it's down the street from the Ben Thanh Market and food market and it was less than 10 minutes walk to two different craft beer breweries. (East West is down the street and Pasteur is not far) The room was tidy with ornate white furniture. The bed was somewhat comfortable. The air con worked but sometimes smelled like cigarette smoke so we had to open the window. Our room was at the back so relatively quiet. We could hear everything in the hall though, very loudly. Breakfast was fine. There were always a few options with fruit. We didn't interact with staff very much but they were pleasant when we did. They let us store our bags for our late flight. Overall, it was ok but we wouldn't likely return. Probably decent value for money (but we didn't see other hotels nearby to compare.) (If you stay, do not go to the spa next door - terrible. The girl was on her phone during the foot massage and even stopped the massage to type stuff into her phone several times...)
Great and excellent location clean and helpful staff
I checked-in in the afternoon with my family and several large suitcases. There was no one to help us with the cases up the stairway entry to the hotel except the tiny girl that was working the front desk. She was the only person working the front of the hotel and was required to handle all the ins and out. She did provide good service to us but she was also handling a few other guests at the time and just seemed to have too much in her plate. The room we stayed in was a large family room with 3 King beds. It was fine but the bed linens were not the best and the white bathroom towels were grey. Definitely not as nice as the photos. The breakfast buffet was horrible, there was hardly any food and it was poorly made. We just went out to eat instead. I would not recommend this hotel because it seems poorly managed, having very little staff and not week kept.
This hotel is a Big problem. Most room no Windows even you book with Windows, towel smells off smoke, wifi only working in reception, breakfast finish already 9 am and the room mostly not have any Wiev. Room very small and no hot water in many room.
A Japanese managed 'mini' hotel in the centre. Quiet and carefully cleaned room.
Nice, clean and very comfortable hotel. free breakfast. Hotel locates in center of city, it is surrounded by restaurants, bars, and entertainment. I was really enjoyed my time there.
While the Hotel scores high every level, I am very disappointed to find that the Hotel has asked to charge &15.00 additional fees for a Visitor!
Excellent location. The hotel is just next to Ben Thanh market and market foods. Walking short distance to Saigon Square 1
Love it. Great location, great room, great service. Everything is awesome!
I was really happy with my stay. very comfortable bed, large room. location was perfect.
Overall experience is very good. Like most other hotels, the location of this hotel is great and accessible to many tourist sites by walking (walked to ben thanh market, food street, independence palace, post office, cathedral, bitexco tower, saigon square etc) so as to avoid being trapped in the traffic by cab. Plus point for this hotel: + the reception staffs are beautiful and courteous to talk to with decent English proficiency, also helpful + the interior are well-decorated with european style furniture, effort made to remove any bad odour + breakfast are quite plentiful to eat (I saw other reviews write about lack of variety but what I see is actually quite decent) + just beside the hotel, there is a small massage shop nearby. Quite skillful (note that they may force you to tip at least usd$5, but overall price is quite decent) Note point for this hotel: - Not all the rooms have windows (some traveller would be mindful but I am fine since I am out most of the time) - Hot water are not always available - Door is not card security (the old key lock), always remember to lock door before going out
Great hotel to stay in Ben Thanh area, beautiful renovated bedroom and bathroom. Buffet style breakfast. 50 meters walk to Ben Thanh market. Down side is the stairs walking up to the reception, no porter to assist with luggage. Definitely will be back again. Room 701.
I stay at the Happy Inn every time I am in HCM, it is quite central and the staff are pleasant. The breakfast has only a small selection but is fine for its purpose. Gets a bit boring if you are staying for some days. The rooms are acceptable. some times I am given a room with no window although this is not stipulated in the hotel information. I jump up and down a little and they move me. In a nut shell the beds are good, the rooms clean, hotel reasonably new and price is good value. I would let my family stay there.
Staffs are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very old, not well maintained. The lighting of the room is fantastic. It's the 1st time I stay in a hotel whereby there isn't any free drinking water provided. So I have to buy drinking water outside.
Nice stay for our first few nights in Saigon. Close to the markets, travel and tourists info, generally a good location. Staff were pleasant but beds were hard
Room clean and good location. Breakfast terrible.
Good location. Best hotels near Ben thanh market.
The hotel located at a convenient location, about 1 minute walk to Ben Thanh market, restaurants are everywhere. If you stay further away from main tourist area, you will ended up paying for taxi. The staff were friendly. They have safety box, security cameras on hallways, laundry service, 2 elevators. It would be a fantastic experience if there were no bugs in the room. However, what I didn't like was there were ants and mosquitos in my room that bite me. Ants were everywhere.. on bed, countertops, restroom. This was very unpleasant. Other than that, it would had been a better experience.
Good location...2min walk to benh thanh market...lots of thing to eat..but hotel room is abit small...mattress no good as it put 4pieces of thin mattress to big it a as a thick mattress....hot water still must wait for 2 to 3mins...no good...
Walking distance to all landmarks, shopping close by in any direction, never gonna go hungry with the Saigon food court across the road
The hotel had 1st year anniversary. Staff are friendly and the room are clean and comfortable. Breakfast was simple and location was good 5 mins walking to Ben thanh market
Good location, good service, improved breakfast from previous visits. However the only complain for me in 4-5 visits is the bath towel condition, they are so aged and don't feel good.
I have stayed here on regular basis in the month of March. Room size is quite big... Extremely friendly staff. Negatives: Breakfast should have more varieties. Towels in room are clean, but look dirty due to stains. I would love to stay here again with or without any improvements. Thanks everyone there for making my stay pleasant ... Davie
Overall a great stay. Staff was outstanding and all spoke english at some level. Bed ma ttress was very hard. Great for my back, but may not be for others. This was a standard room. I will definitely stay there again.
The only 2 complaints I have: poor breakfast choices and dirty looking towels - off white color due to stains... Everything else is perfect!!!
Given the standards set by other hotels in the area, Happyland was distinctly lacking. The staff were as helpful as possible and cleanliness was never an issue, BUT . . . . . . the TV in a top-priced room didn't have English channels and had unwatchable reception . . . the breakfasts were abysmal. Pre-cooked eggs, "plastic" bread, and commercial noodles were pretty-much the only options. On one day, only pho was available (nothing else)!! Given the availability (and minimal cost) of fresh fruit, freshly-baked bread and authentic noodle dishes throughout this area, there can be no excuses. It should not be possible for an old lady at the side of the road outside the hotel to provide an infinitely better breakfast than the hotel kitchen. Get your act together, management!
Wow... I was impressive with all the decors and the size of the room. Service was excellent. Honestly, I felt like a king in my castle staying here ... Breakfast is nothing to die for ... that is the only negative thing. I would stay here again ... David
Very nice room and locations is great in District 1. Just a cold shower in the morning...shower had warm water in the afternoon. Western breakfast was much. Overall nice place to stay.
It's a very good hotel for the price but just don't expect much for breakfast. In fact I would recommend getting cheap and good breakfast everywhere. There is 24hr Pho nearby.
I was very happy with my stay here. Location was just perfect. Room was nice, especially the bathroom. Only thing negative was the bed was a bit uncomfortable and hard. Free breakfast was ok.
the staff are nice but I wouldn't stay there again..it was convenient for location, right across from the river and night market.. next to the bus lines.. but was very noisy...bathroom had a bad sewer odor. .we had to cover all the drain holes...windows did not open.
The location was awesome. The hotel was pretty well maintenanced, but the bed was so hard that it was difficult to sleep. The breakfast could've been improved. The portions were too small.
If you want to see the buzzing street with real action and people. This is the place to be. Hotel is run quietly by Japanese boss with Japanese breakfast-minimalist! You can forget it. I prefer 1 USD Pho at Pho24 30yards away. It's walking distance to the whole city to see how people live and you will see real Vietnam on your door step 24 hours a day yet the hotel is the Oasis in that. Rooms are good if go for ensuit and luxury. There is free PC with internet in the room but all set up in Japanese. Staff are very friendly esp those 2 beautiful girls in the reception.
I booked two rooms for my family. For the price I paid comparing with similar hotels nearby, I am quite happy with this hotel. The staffs are friendly and helpful. Only complaint is the bed is rather hard which is one of the common complaints by most of their guests. It would be more comfortable if they use a softer bed or add a layer of bed padding. The room is pretty clean and the condition is good. The buffet breakfast is just ok. It will be nice if they have more varieties. This hotel is just one block away from Bến Thành market so it is great for those who want to shop. There are also plenty of restaurants within short walking distance. I also managed to arrange for some tour packages with tour companies nearby.
Room was very good but recently painted and still some smell Hot water takes some time to come through For a 3 star in ben thanh area it is one of the betters
Location is ok. Breakfast not so good. Not many choice, simple breakfast. Room is comfortable, the TV channel is having poor reception, practically can't watch the show. Just the price you pay for.
