I asked for a double when I booked 4 weeks in advance, but was give a twin. A twin is useless to a solo traveller. The staff were unhelpful when I raised my issue. It felt like they did not like customers who booked through bookings.com. The bar felt a bit more like a travel lodge than a holiday inn.

Parkeren. Op de site werd ons een parkeergarage aangeraden die we bij de receptie konden afrekenen met korting. Bij aankomst werd ons door de receptie vermeld dat zij sinds 2 weken geen contract meer hadden met de parkeergarage. Aangezien wij vooraf naar parkeergelegenheid hadden gevraagd en zij deze parkeergarage ook nog via email hadden aanbevolen. Was dit een onprettige verrassing.

Reviewed Sep 7, 2026Ich war leider nur kurz für ein Konzertevent in der Stadt. Das Holiday Inn Manchester - City Centre by IHG hat sich als perfekte Wahl für meinen Aufenthalt erwiesen. Die Lage konnte besser nicht sein. Service war hervorragend. Als ich ca. 2,5 Stunden vor der eigentlichen Check-In-Zeit auf der Matte stand, war das gar kein Problem und ich hab spontan sofort mein Zimmer beziehen können. "Leider" war die Aftershowparty nach dem Konzert so gut, dass ich das Zimmer nur wenige Stunden genießen konnte. Wenn ich wieder mal nach Manchester komme, ist dieses Hotel meine erste Wahl!

Reviewed Aug 29, 2026Great location, staff are always pleasant each time we've stayed here and they do try to accommodate requests i.e room on a high floor, one with a bath etc. Lovely deep bath tubs. Rooms spacious and clean.
Some rooms could do with updating a bit/some touch-ups but otherwise no complaints.

My colleague and i travelled from Scotland to attend some important meetings but i had a terrible night as our room was above the tram line and we heard every single one that went passed which didnt allow me to sleep properly . The floor tiles in my bathroom were moving.

Reviewed Aug 26, 2026Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral zwischen Innenstadt und Bahnhof. Von hier aus ist es möglich das moderne Stadtzentrum von Manchester zu Fuß sehr gut zu erkunden und auch die 3min Fußweg zur nächsten Tram-Haltestelle ermöglichen es, in der Stadt sich schnell zu bewegen. Das Zimmer war äußerst geräumig, das große Bett sehr bequem und es war für ein Hotel dieser Größe sehr leise! Das Frühstück war gut, ich hätte mir mehr glutenfreie Alternativen gewünscht (zumindest glutenfreie Haferflocken wären kein Problem bereit zu stellen). Ansonsten ist alles frisch und immer in ausreichenden Mengen vorhanden. Das Personal ist freundlich und aufmerksam.
Wie beschrieben, hätte ich mir beim Frühstück glutenfreie Alternativen gewünscht. In meinem Zimmer war die Dusche schon etwas "abgenutzt", aber ist Meckern auf hohem Niveau.

I arrived at 9:30 pm on 23 August, the man at the reception must have been angry with something, not pleasant experience as an introduction to the hotel. First encounter with guests should not be rough. This guy needs retraining in hospitality services

Reviewed Aug 24, 2026Ein unerwartetes Upgrade in eine Junior Suite. Tolle Aussicht, Zimmer sehr sauber. Perfekt Lage, Nähe zur Innenstadt aber auch zum Bahnhof Piccadilly.
Es gab einen Feueralarm, der offenbar ein Fehlalarm war, fälschlicherweise in der Küche ausgelöst. Ich glaube, im evakuierten Stockwerk hat zwar jemand kontrolliert, ob wir alle die Zimmer verlassen, aber unten wußten wit nicht, wo ein Sammelpunkt wäre. Niemand hat uns in Empfang genommen und wir mussten selbst an der Rezeption nachfragen, was los ist. Insgesamt aber beruhigend, dass der Alarm funktioniert.

Reviewed Aug 20, 2026Wij hadden een grote kamer geboekt. Bij aankomst bleek dat de airco op de kamer het niet deed, terwijl het erg warm was. Het personeel deed er alles aan om het ons naar de zin te maken. We kregen een andere kamer (met wel werkende airco) en een mooie compensatie, omdat we nu een kleinere kamer hadden. 100 punten voor het personeel, dat verder ook bijzonder vriendelijk was. Het hotel is comfortabel en de ligging is perfect bij Picadilly Station en het centrum van Manchester. De volgende keer boeken we hier weer.

Our bathroom was just a little damp smelling and had a broken floor tile. It only had one set of towels in the bathroom like they were expecting one person but we found a spare set in the wardrobe.

Staff wasn’t very straight forward, tried to make me pay for dinner when I already have that covered with my booking. Telling me that meal only cover was mine alone and kids only eat when an adult eats. Hence since I am with my 3 kids only one kid is covered. Only came around when I insisted that I paid for half board (dinner included ) and will not pay for my kids dinner as I specifically checked and ensured that dinner was covered in my booking before paying online. I really do not think will use holiday inn again.

Reviewed Aug 14, 2026La habitación tiene un tamaño excelente: amplia, cómoda y espaciosa, con todo lo necesario para una estancia agradable. El baño, además, es excelente, muy cuidado y perfectamente equipado.
El único aspecto mejorable sería el desayuno. Es cierto que la calidad de los productos fue excelente, pero para alcanzar la matrícula de honor creo que sería deseable una mayor variedad. En comparación con otros hoteles Holiday Inn en los que me he alojado, en este aspecto se queda ligeramente corto.

Reviewed Aug 10, 2026The hotel is clean, quiet, and lovely, with a convenient location and friendly, welcoming staff. Their breakfast is good and all the essentials. I think their location is the best because it's close to the train station, Piccadilly Gardens, and the city center, yet their location is characterized by its quietness.
They don't have anyone to carry luggage to the room.

Reviewed Aug 8, 2026Always a great stay in a Holiday Inn Really happy with everything Had a tiny issue which the manager sorted immediately All the staff were friendly, everywhere was clean, room was great. Loved the bathroom and shower. Quiet for a city centre hotel. Everything we wanted 20 mins walk or a short tram ride away. 2 mins from Piccadilly Will 100% stay here again when in Manchester.

Reviewed Aug 8, 2026Après un séjour d'une nuit, nous sommes retournés dans cet hôtel pour 3 nuits. Personnel et responsable (suzanna, si je ne me trompes pas) au petit soin. Mention spéciale pour José, notre coup de coeur.
Petit soucis avec la femme de chambre mais rien de grave. Je conseille vivement cet hôtel.

Reviewed Aug 3, 2026The location is amazing. 3 minute walk to the trams and 10 to the centre. Everything you need in walking distance. There are a diverse range of eateries and shops in the location. Ideal for getting to the Emirates. The hotel itself was fab. Clean, welcoming. The breakfast was amazing. Well cooked, presented and plenty of options for all. Also the pricing was extremely good for that weekend. We had tickets for Take That and comparative hotels in the district were at least £50 per night dearer.
Bed was collapsed on oneside so a little uncomfortable until i'd found a sleeping position that suited.

Reviewed Jul 20, 2026A very enjoyable stay. The hotel is modern, clean, and well maintained. The staff were friendly, professional, and always helpful. The location is excellent—right next to Manchester Piccadilly Station and within easy walking distance of the city centre, restaurants, shops, and other attractions. Everything was convenient and easy to reach. The room was comfortable, quiet, and had everything needed for a pleasant stay. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel.
