The front view from the hotel was majestic just as its name. Staffs were friendly and available all the time for guests.

Shower head was leaking despite of paying premium price. Bathroom is little congested.

Dear Hotel Management, I am writing to make a formal complaint regarding our extremely disappointing experience at your hotel and to request a full refund. From the moment we arrived, we were concerned about the standard of the hotel. While we were checking in at reception, another customer was complaining directly to the receptionist about how bad their night had been. Unfortunately, shortly afterwards, we understood exactly why. We were allocated rooms 212 and 312. As we walked upstairs, we immediately noticed the poor standard of cleanliness, including doors and communal areas that appeared extremely dirty. When I opened the door to our room, there were mosquitoes clearly visible inside. My girlfriend was exhausted after our flight and lay down on the bed to rest. Within only a couple of minutes, she had been bitten several times. At the same time, our friends in the other room messaged us reporting similar problems and sent us photographs showing what appeared to be bed bugs or other insects on the bed. I immediately went to reception to report the situation. However, no effective action was taken to resolve the problem. We went out for a coffee while deciding what to do. When we returned, we concluded that we simply could not stay in accommodation where we were being bitten and where we had serious concerns about the cleanliness and condition of the rooms. We therefore had no reasonable option but to leave the hotel. This was particularly upsetting for me because this trip was intended to be a special surprise for my girlfriend. Instead, the experience was completely ruined, and I then had to drive approximately three hours back home. There is also a separate unresolved issue regarding the booking. I previously contacted the hotel to change the booking dates from the 11th to the 12th. I was informed by a member of reception that one night's payment would be refunded.

Cleanliness was very bad. It was very loud, because of some wastewater pipes. Smelled bad as well. Didn’t have AC.

The foul smell in first room second had what I could make a condom under bed I was told in order to get refund I'd have to report on here. I would've thought once the poke t was cleared by staff they may of hoovered floor. The first room the room smell from bathroom was so bad I was close to being sick. This was sorted room changed to find as above there.

The bed was very firm which I like and the staff were polite and the room was soacious

The windows were broken, the whole building was run down, and the breakfast was awful. The scrambled eggs were crispy which I spat out and the beans were stuck to the plate like the plate and beans were from someones previous breakfast. This room was worth £50 at most.

Sea View and sound of the waves!! A comfortable bed and I slept without disturbance all night due to the nice thick walls and being on the top floor! The room and bedding was clean. It had hand wash and shower/hair wash in the shower. A good and functional TV and proximity to the bed! All of the staff I communicated with even briefly were respectful, helpful and professional in their approach. From, laundry staff to cleaning staff to reception staff. For these reasons I'll stay again. Proper temperature control and water flow in the shower.

I got the same room as last year. There are a few more coat hangers and the area around the door was sealed over yet still needs painting over! Attention to detail is needed!! The old toilet tissue box in the bathroom should be removed and a new toilet roll holder installed. The artex ceiling has been painted over in areas and not others and on entering the room there was a strong smell that made me sneeze. Possibly paint. Unfortunately the wallpaper is coming away from the wall in places. It needs attention to detail ! The old dining room chair in the bedroom needs replacing maybe with a new, simple modern and comfortable tub chair or arm chair. This would be ideal in the sea view room. The drawers should be replaced with new, simple and modern matching drawers. Some chips and marks make it look shabby. The visible material under the bed should be repaired so it isn't visible as it looks shabby and untidy. The photo online of the room looks much nicer than the room I stayed in. A small hairdryer in the room would have been appreciated or at least to be told that hairdryers, iron and ironing board are available should they be needed. Overall the hotel needs a lot of work! Thick carpets are difficult to maintain and keep clean..The lifts were temperamental (same as my last stay in 2025!) so the staff have put up notices for guests to avoid using them due to risk of guests getting stuck inside while moving. I think the hotel should put up a clear notice on their booking page giving an explanation about why the lifts are out of order or not in use because there may be guests with a variety of mobility issues, disability or with children and buggies. A hotel is expected to have functional lifts even if it's a one star hotel..!! This is essential!

The room was to hot and suffercating, could not open any windows for ventilation. Non of the lifts worked so negotiating the stairs was difficult as my wife is disabled. The bed was very lumpy and not conformable. If we could have got our money back we would have gone elsewhere.

A beautiful, spacious room with a fantastic sea view—the most comfortable mattress I’ve ever slept on—highly recommended. The bathroom with a shower was flawless. 💪

Beautiful old building in great location but tired and in need of love

The location is fantastic right on the main beach front.

Arrived and even though it said it had parking it does not. The hotel looks okay from the outside but it is run down inside. The staff were helpful and friendly but the hotel is in an awful state. Holes in walls, lifts not working, terrible decoration, the outside of the window in our room was absolutely covered in seagull excrement. No WiFi. Shower/bathroom was awful.

Great location

It was dirty and smelly plus a strong smell of cigarette smoke.

The location was perfect, right next to the beach and not far from the pier and restaurants.

The rooms were extremely small, and not clean. They were definitely way overdue for some refreshing and deep cleaning. And the lift was not working so we had to take the stairs to the third floor.

die lage ist toll, direkt an der promenade und am strand!:) die zimmer sind wohl zu unterschiedlichen zeiten renoviert, 1 zimmer mit meerblick war sehr schön, das andere ohne meerblick etwas heruntergekommen, für die kids ok, die nehmen das mit humor. das personal ist zwar schwer zu verstehen (indisches englisch mit starkem akzent und wenig wortschatz), aber bemüht und nett

das frühstück im alten restaurant im keller ist enttäuschend, denn das hotel verfügt über tolle räume mit meerblick, die aber nicht genutzt werden :( natürlich kann man für wenig gäste, bei denen man auch nicht weiß ob sie frühstücken wollen, kein großartiges frühstück in großen mengen vorbereiten, das wäre schlimme verschwendung, aber man könnte es ja fix buchen lassen und dann etwas mehr mühe aufwenden! und v.a. im erdgeschoss servieren! schade dass so wenige gäste da waren, das wurde die schönen räume um die lobby beleben, vielleicht kommen wieder bessere zeiten, wir würden es dem hotel wünschen!

The room was clean and tidy apart from the dead flies in the light fixture.

One out of two lifts working on the first night then none! A water leak we weren't warned about and had to step onto bed sheets mopping it up before we got to our room. The bar wasn't open apparently because of a technical issue so there was no live entertainment as promised.

I checked out 20 mins after checking in. This honestly looked like a half way house for offenders!! It was that filthy my room I'd say a bio hazard!! I was disgusted. The pics are clearly old! I still can't believe it's allowed to trade. I took pics of my shower....and the rooms tea tray....it speaks volumes!

The room was clean, the breakfast was basic but fine, and the staff were kind and helpful. The location was very convenient, with free parking on the side streets (the hotel does not have a car park).

The property is quite run-down overall. The en-suite bathroom had a mouldy smell and toiletries were missing (hand wash and shower gel bottles hadn't been refilled). The carpets were stained both in the room and throughout the hotel.

Needs an update, lift didn’t work,room shabby,bathroom needs a full update shower needs replacing,the curtain was shabby, breakfast had 2 hot options full English and scrambled eggs on toast when requested scrambled eggs informed no scrambled eggs left but could have fried egg a bit confusing, as an added extra not a great value for the money.

Only positive was the location.

The room was filthy, carpets especially. There were bugs on the bed. No soap in the bathroom dispenser. Pillows weren’t hypoallergenic as advertised and caused an asthma episode. The hotel looked abandoned, no other guests or staff in sight, bar was closed despite being a Friday night. No one was present at the desk for checkout so no comments about the stay could be mentioned. £70 for this stay and I can’t say it was worth it.

No staff at reception when arrived, room too hot as one window screwed shut and the other tethered and held ajar with a rolled up towel (no sash cords on a sash window), shower had long hair stuck on sides.

I was not happy with the reviews i read so did not stay there

I arrived and was told I had not paid and no booking for me. I showed the reception my receipt of payment. I waited over half an hour for a room. It seemed as they were not expecting me they did not have a room for me. I booked this a year ago. I was put in room 4, a dull bottom room with a window overlooking the bins and at 6am each morning from the sounds of the bins being emptied. I am 82 years old and was treated with ageism. I wanted a shandy but there was no lager available. The hotel was awful. My room was appauling and I felt for the money I was just given the worst room. My stay was £680.00. The hotel did not know what they were doing. Would never stay there again.

The location is beachfront, near local shops and not far from town centre just walking distance. Hotel lounge area is very big and airy.

The family room i entered was on the 1st floor, the stairway was small and narrow, no lift to 1st floor so taking suitcase up was annoying, the room door was behind a big door at end of the stairway which made it awkward to first push the door and let the kids enter the room while I stood on the stairway after they entered I proceeded to enter the room 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️. The family room size was big enough but its was scorching hot as we entered, the fan didn't reach the bed so was sweating all night long, the window was on a latch which u couldn't pull off to get any air from outside in. There was no telephone so had to use my mobile to call the reception desk cuz the fire alarms went off 2 or 3 times, was unsure if me and the kids have to leave the hotel or not, we didn't need to leave apparently it was "ok" and "not to worry" this is what the receptionist said to me. The bathroom was boiling hot, toilet needed a scrub and sink was cracked and dirty stains all over the sink, the tiles on the bathtub had a blue stain which didn't come off and the door of the the bathroom has dried up water marks which turned black. Very disappointing to see this as I always thought hotel rooms should look the best for guests, there was no housekeeping that came to clean my room or change my bedsheets or took the bin in the 3nights I stayed there with my kids. The bin was so small I had to keep a few plastic bags and filled them with takeaway rubbish up with it. One of the bed was ripped at the bottom and moved as they had wheels underneath the bed, kids found that funny but to me I wasn't amused as no one wants to sleep in a bed which started near the wall and end up in the middle of the room like I was in a ship or a go-cart 😅. The TV remote had this disgusting tape around it as the battery cover was missing and the TV didn't even work or had any channels so kids was not happy they had to be on thier mobiles to watch online cartoons.

This was the most disgusting hotel I've ever stayed in. Looks like it was used by the Government for reasons. In the heat I was genuinely concerned about a fire risk and even planned my exit if needed. We were there only for the Air show. Even that was a let down due to no facilities for hydration and over priced absolute rubbish food. Goodbye Eastbourne.
