Wilderness Manor

This is an incredibly lovely place to stay when visiting Wilderness. Our spacious suite overlooked the river and was situated close to the village restaurants and shops. Our hosts Gerald and JD were absolutely amazing hosts, very attentive, knowledgeable and provided a first class service. Breakfast is first class, so fresh and plentiful. We absolutely loved the Manor, faultless.

Leaving it!

Usually don't leave a comment. But this place and its hosts are absolutely expectionall. Sometimes you are just lucky and pick a gem like this on Booking. Also loved Wilderness. Small village vibe but has everything you need (couple of restaurants, supermarket, petrol station, etc.). Great beach as well.

That I only booked 2 nights.

Superb breakfast, not to be missed. Perfect location, easy to walk to restaurants. Our hosts gave us plenty of information and suggestions on where to go in the area around.

Leaving we miss them already, two great guys.

We loved the large spacious room, that was clean, well maintained and well equipped. The personal touches from Gerald and JD made us feel right at home.

Sehr zuvorkommende Eigentümer. Alles sehr gepflegt.

From the moment you arrive you feel relaxed. Gerald and JD are the perfect hosts. Wonderful rooms with great views and a fabulous breakfast. Attention to detail is second to none. Also full of ideas and tips to help you make the most of your stay. Lovely restaurants within walking distance. Our tip - book for longer as once you arrive you will wish you had!

Nothing. It was perfect.

Gerald and JD were the perfect hosts who did everything to make our stay perfect. This was one of the best places we have stayed in South Africa. The breakfast was delicious with everything you could possibly want. We just want to go back. Thank you guys.

Wonderful stay with attentive hosts!

Extraordinary location & wonderful hosts.

We really liked everything about this property with fantastic hosts! They were very pleasant and sharing a lot of excellent knowledge. Good location on the river, yet not too far from shopping and restaurants. Could do a lot of sightseeing without having to cross the busy N2 highway. The room we stayed in was nice and big and had everything needed with a little, very special private garden. A superb breakfast was served every morning!

I really cannot think of anything that was missing during our stay.

Magnificent accommodation Beautiful Peaceful area

Nothing to not like.

The property was so beautiful and eclectic. I loved it so much. Breakfast was great and there was good choice. Our hosts were attentive, sometimes a little too much, but willing to go above and beyond to ensure an enjoyable stay.

Nothing to complain about at all.

Everything ... room was most comfortable, spacious and catered for all one's needs. Breakfast was superduper, really top-notch. Wilderness manor is a wonderful property, with a great view of the river. Gerald goes out of his way to make sure that your stay is most pleasant.

Amazing hotel. Impeccable service. Excellent breakfast. Highly recommend and will book again.

After long drive received by JD offering a cup of tea and great friendliness & local knowledge. Breakfests were generous and the rooms were lovely, one of the best B& B experiences anywhere.

Nada

A wonderful, relaxing place to stay. Superb breakfasts. Great guidance on local walks, and where to eat & drink.

Very caring hosts, big and comfortable rooms, walking distance to restaurants, safe environment

The accommodation was superb, unfortunately we had the garden facing room so nowhere to sit or relax in our room. The breakfasts were fantastic! Better than any restaurant. Our hosts were amazing and so informative about restaurants, places of interest etc. D6

We loved our stay

It was large and comfortable with lovely views

The breakfast was superb, a choice of cereals and fresh fruit with yogurts, selection of cold meats and cheese and fresh pastries and bread, followed by a freshly well cooked and presented hot breakfast. We had to be out by 8am one morning for a trip and they prepared an early breakfast for us that was the same as normal. The ground floor room was large and gave out to a delightful shaded garden, the bathroom with all the normal amenities was massive with large shower and bath. The hosts were attentive and had information to hand. The public rooms on the 1st Floor opened onto balconies that gave lovely views over the lagoon. A nice walk along the lagoon into Wilderness of 1km led to numerous places to eat and the other way to several walks into the park. Parking was off road and ample.

Where do I start to tell people how wonderful it is at Wilderness Manor …Gerald and JD are amazing hosts nothing was too much trouble ..they gave us so much info on the surrounding areas ..the house is immaculately clean ..the breakfast is plentiful tasty and so well presented .we would of loved to extend our stay if we could have ..loved Wilderness and would certainly stay at the Manor again .

The room was fantastic, very large and spacious and finished with everything we needed. The hosts were extremely friendly, informative and helpful offering us a lot of insight into the area and ensuring we felt at home.

There was nothing which we felt required any improving, our stay was great and we were extremely happy with everything.

Wilderness Manor is a 5+ star B+B. Gerald and JD are truly amazing hosts. The property has been remodeled and the en-suite rooms are huge with elevated views of the intercoastal lagoon. The interior has been immaculately decorated and offers 2 large lounges for relaxing whilst enjoying the expansive views. The breakfast was simply amazing with a combination buffet style and a la carte full English breakfast cooked to your personal choice. When traveling to the George/Wilderness area, this is definitely the place to stay. It is located in Wilderness only 20 mins from George.

Nothing. This is a 5+ star gem!

We had the perfect stay at Wilderness Manor! Gerald and JD are wonderful hosts, their hospitality is exceptional, and they did their best to help us with useful recommendations. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a beautiful view over the river. The breakfast was just perfect.

Everything exceeded our expectations and the hosts were incredibly kind and attentive. Location, breakfast and service was better than anyone could wish for. Even special requests were immediately fulfilled. Rooms were perfectly clean, extremely spacious and comfortable with beautiful views.

Cannot think of anything at all. Any requests for change were immediately looked into. Breakfast was also adjusted and extra Bircher was made for us. Fantastic service I've never experienced anywhere else before.

JD and Gerald are excellent hosts and made us feel very welcome. They had a ton of information and recommendations on what to do or where to eat in the area and they were very helpful. The garden room was very spacious and has a good connection to the garden, the bathroom is spacious, very clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely and as they said.. you will not starve 😀

Spacious bedroom, bathroom and lounge area. Spotless and luxurious. Great view of the lagoon from our lounge area. Modern bathroom. Excellent service from the hosts who helped us with advice on excursions and updates on available routes (there had been heavy rain falls so some routes were closed). Tasty breakfast with good variety.

Amazing , feel at home type of a place with a very high standards. The owners JD and Gerald make sure all is delivered to guests satisfaction. Place has great location with beautiful view and short distance to hiking trail and town. The place scores super high of cleanest and the rooms are spaces and fully equipped . Love the chat with the owners - make the whole experience unforgettable.

Fantastic guest house in a gorgeous location. A quality place which is maintained immaculately and is operated so well by the attentive owners Gerald and JD. They are so helpful and friendly. The lagoon facing room was large, well presented and maintained impeccably clean. It also had a large balcony with lovely views. The breakfast is lovely too with good choices and food cooked to order.

Hosts Gerald and JD paid an exquisite level of detail to ensuring every second of our stay in Wilderness was well spent. The know everything there is to know about the area and restaurants and things to do. The property is impeccably clean and although not self-catering is very well equipped. Our room was very spacious with a stunning view over the Touws River from the balcony.

The breakfast was exceptional. The room was spacious and very comfortable. An all over wonderful stay.

Outstanding and friendly personal service received from owners JD and Gerald.Superb location and very well appointed and comfortable accomodation. Most delicious breakfast served.

Very kind and supportive hosts. Apartment in very clean condition and newly renovated. The facilities are high class. The best was the fantastic breakfast.

The two guys running the place are sometimes a bit too supportive for my view. You have to get used to it. Once you arrive with your car, someone is opening the entrance door of the house to let you in. If you leave your room someone is entering to arrange your things. People who want more privacy are probably at the wrong place.

The easiest 10/10 we ranked in booking! Gerald and JD are by far the most amazing hosts we encountered. They take care of every single aspect of hospitality. You feel spoiled. The breakfast is very good and served with a lot of love. Advices and tips regarding where to go and what to see are given in depth and details. The house itself is simply magnificent, the room is beautiful, big, and the bathroom is modern and top notch. Also- probably the cleanest place I’ve ever been to.

Fabulous from the hospitality received from the hosts to the silver service breakfast.

Unfortunately in this day and age something like a UPS is required for load shedding

the rooms are so spacious, well kept and updated. the hospitality from JD and Gerald is carried out with so much grace and love.

the hosts were very warm friendly and helpful really went above and beyond for us

Wilderness Manor was beautiful - our room was very spacious, nicely decorated and with a lovely view and lots of natural light. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. Our hosts were exceptional - very friendly, welcoming and full of helpful advice!

N/A - it was excellent!

JD and Gerald were exceptional hosts. They are very intent on making your stay as comfortable as possible. We enjoyed our time in the area and had everything we needed at the Manor.

Great service, great breakfast. Extremely clear.

Right from the Manor, to our room, Location, breakfast and especially our amazing hosts JD and Gerald everything was just excellent. The room which we had booked was not only very comfortable but also luxuriously designed and decorated. Bathroom was huge and very modern. Breakfast was great as well. I could go on and on reviewing our pleasant stay but would just mention that wilderness is the place to be in South Africa and Wilderness manor is absolutely a must place to stay in. Our hosts JD and Gerald were very friendly and welcoming and made our stay extra memorable. The information which was given by Gerald on places to visit was very helpful and JD's advise about the places to have lunch/dinner was indeed great. Thank you JD and Gerald for the memorable experience.

Everything was perfect.

Both gentlemen who run the guesthouse are “perfectionists” in all details of service for their guests. We really enjoid our stay in this beautiful guesthouse. Is was A-OK!!

Rekommenderas starkt!

JD and Gerald make sure you enjoy your stay. The breakfasts are outstanding. We loved it. If you are going to Willderness you could do no better than Willderness Manor. We would highly recommend it to anyone.

This is an amazing guest house run by two dedicated people who have the highest standards. It is a place that I would really like to keep a secret as I love it so much. The house is walkable distance to Wilderness village where there are lots of beautiful shops and excellent restaurants. The people who run Wilderness Manor make time with guests and go the extra mile to ensure comfort.

Super b&b, sehr grosses Zimmer, super netter Service.

Absolutely fabulous every aspect of this lodge is amazing from the brilliant welcome to the service, food and such wonderful people who have the highest standards

One of the finest B&B's we have ever stayed in

Everything was beyond perfect. They had even made a dinner reservation in the towns most popular restaurant before our arrival because it would have been too late to make a reservation upon our arrival.

Fantastic room with view of the Lagoon. Excellent hosts who could not be more helpful. Breakfast just sublime! Wish we could have stayed longer.

Wilderness Manor is a beautiful property with a wonderful staff. I wish we stayed longer than one night. The Garden Room is beautiful with a giant bathtub and beautiful bathroom. The breakfast was to die for and the location was perfect. We walked to The Girls restaurant, a wonderful rec from JD and his partner. They went above and beyond to help us plan the rest of our trip. We can't wait to return!

Wonderful feel. Clean, beautifully presented with supreme service.
