Went to bar for drinks and had Ann Would recommend her she had great personality and was lot fun Ty Ann
Robyn & Anne were great and very nice.
Robyn and Anne are the best. The graduate bar is the best in Ann Arbor. Check them out!
Stopped by the Allen Rumsey cocktail for some drinks before dinner. Robyn is an amazing bartender, she went above and beyond being an amazing mixologist. Highly recommend
Enjoyed a beer out on the patio. Thanks, Robyn and Jasper!
Robyn and Jasper hold it down. The bar is the right mix of college bar nostalgia any idyllic university reading room.
Robyn and Jasper are phenomenal!
Robyn and Jasper were great at the bar
I just wanted to take a minute to say Leon and Nathan great service and it was welcome there for a full stressful day of business!
Absolutely love our bartender Robyn. She was so attentive, her food recommendations were perfect and we loved the drinks of course.
Our bartender was fantastic! Friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience so enjoyable. The drinks were great, and the service was even better. You can tell they genuinely care about their guests. We’ll definitely be back!
The bartenders Leon and Nathan were great! They greeted members of our party by name and provided excellent service.
Anne, beven, Leon at the restaurant bar are the absolute best! Took great care of us, and are reals pros!
Anne and Leon were great. Very helpful and kind. Will be back!
Leon is phenomenal, 10/10 would come back again just for him
Leon was very nice and accommodating after a long work trip and drive. He gave great recommendations for restaurants and bars and things to do in the town. He also made a great old fashioned. The Graduate has been a regular stop for me for the last few business trips and is always a great stay.
Leon and Nathan were great! The atmosphere and service was awesome.
Parking fee
Leon and nathan made our experience so incredible we can not wait to come back! i’ll remember them forever I hope they remember us! 😋
This is the hotel that we always stay at when we can when visiting Ann Arbor. We visited our son to help him move into his new place and enjoyed staying here. We also enjoy having drinks at the bar. Our waitress/bartender Robyn went out of her way to make our stay extra special. She was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure that we had everything we needed. The drinks were really good and service was exceptional. I hope Hilton realizes what a great staff member Robyn is and compensates accordingly in this day and age where good employees are hard to find. Will come back again!
What an awesome experience, super friendly staff! Anne, Jasper and Nathan were super chill!. Will definitely return.
Anne (the bartender) is so fkn awesome!!
Restaurant and bar staff were excellent and professional
Leon and Robyn were awesome at the bar!
Leon, Robyn, Nathan and Anne are the bartenders at Allen Rumsey and I have to say elevate this establishment more than I could have imagined. The experience they provide can not be matched. Will continue to look forward to coming back year after year.
First time here amazing place even better bartenders Robyn, Ann,Leon and Nathan are the best can't wait for next year
Robyn and Leon took great care of us with food and drink. Perfect place to catch up with colleagues after traveling.
Leon is the man!!! Super friendly!
My 10th floor corner room was dark (walls are covered with dark fabric, furniture is dark toned), but with a decent view. Problem is, everything is a bit run down, and a bit dirty. Crumbs, dust rabbits along the bottom of the bed; chips and marks in furniture and paint, scratches in the desk blotter (not having one would have been better!), etc. Hot water kettle and instant coffee stuff was on a tray, stashed in a low cabinet—but one of the tray’s two rope handles was not fully attached. Had I not seen this and just reached in grabbing both handles, the whole thing would have crashed to the ground. Plus, the room smelled musty, and almost as if someone had smoked in it. Then, there is no parking, so forced-valet is $40.00 a night. I won’t be back. For the price, absolutely ridiculous. The only reason this place got any stars at all was for the frontdesk staff, especially Brayden, Abe and another gent whose name I don’t remember. They and the valet guy were the best.
Stay Away! This hotel accepted a free night certificate from me and then charged my credit card the following day saying they “changed their minds”. The valet also lost my keys to my vehicle. Ben, one of the “managers” was extremely disrespectful and unwilling to own up to their mistakes. He was also unwilling to give information to contact any upper management for me to discuss the incident further. Terrible for a hotel charging $500/night. I’m a disabled veteran on disability income and have been a Hilton Honors member for over 15 years.
It has been a long time since I've had such a horrible experience at a hotel. It's as if we were in a Third World country.. First morning we woke up at 7 AM and asked for coffee. They said the hotel was out of coffee completely out of coffee on a Tuesday.. We came back from breakfast in our room. Door was wide open because the maids forgot to close it leaving exposed to anything being stolen. We tried to get our car and it took 45 minutes for them to get us our car. My wife went to the bathroom and the toilet broke. The electricity in our room and only our room went out. It took them two days to clean our room. When they came to clean the room, they forgot to leave towels. It took another day for them to get us the towels. This is a horrific place. The valet is overpriced and under deliveries. The only bright spot is one of the front desk, workers named Zeb. He bent over backwards, trying to fix them any problems, but they deeper than anything he could fix. It seems like a fancy place to stay, but it's horrible. It's costly it's uncomfortable. It's loud and you have to wait for everything. Stay away.
Did not have breakfast here.
I left a nightdress; called the hotel; was referred to a third party iloststuff.com and never heard from third-party. I called the hotel a week later; they said they would call back after checking, but I never heard from them again.
I stayed at this hotel for two nights during a business trip, and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The property felt dark and uncomfortably cold throughout my stay. When I arrived, my room was only 63°F, and despite contacting the front desk, the temperature never rose above 66°F. The bathroom also needed attention. There was visible mildew or mold where the shower floor and wall tiles met, and it appeared to be in need of a thorough cleaning. The most frustrating issue was the toilet, which ran continuously. After I reported it, maintenance responded quickly and replaced the flapper and diaphragm, but the problem persisted. I informed the front desk again, yet the issue was never fully resolved. I had to shut off the water valve each night just to avoid the constant noise while trying to sleep. While I appreciate the prompt initial response from maintenance, this property falls short of the standard I typically expect from a Hilton. The hotel would benefit from some much-needed improvements and better attention to maintenance issues.
Charging a service fee for Valet Parking tip is Unconscionable. I was not even allowed the option to by pass this function. My car was taken hostage and I had to pay the fee for the tip before I conclude the online car retrieval process . For this reason alone I will never use this hotel or any other hotels that forces me to pay a fee for tipping the valet. I rather pay this fee to the staff and not a corporation.
Forcing customers to pay a fee for valet tip. I understand charges for parking and I am very happy to tip the valet. Yet feel it is a highway rubbery to force clients to pay a fee for online tipping. The process doesn't allow one to bypass the fee process. In other words I was forced to pay a fee that I never agreed upon when I checked into the hotel. I feel this illegal and immoral practice.
Check in was fast and the front desk agent was very nice. We stayed on the 14th floor. Room and bathroom was very clean. The bed was very comfortable. The only thing we didn’t like was the horrible valet service. It’s $40 per night and it takes 30 minutes to get your vehicle. Location was great.
Room was clean, roomy and mostly well-furnished; bathroom has been updated.
Desk chair was uncomfortable and below the quality of the rest of the furniture. (I have back pain, and desk chair quality may matter more to me than to others.) Room temp seemed to be uninfluenced by the thermostat setting.
THE HOTEL & PROXIMITY TO MICH. UNIV. LAW SCHOOL.
WE COULD HAVE RECEIVED A BETTER $ RATE BY SIMPLY BOOKING DIRECTLY WITH HOTEL. VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH BOOKING. COM $ RATE !!!
My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary with a quick over night getaway at the Graduate in Ann Arbor. Braydon was very attentive and his hospitality was amazing. We appreciated everything he did to make our night special.
The staff is amazing! Brayden was the best! So friendly and helpful! He also made it possible to give my parents a little surprise for their anniversary
We used the Graduate for housing while I was in need of surgery at a U of M hospital. We were more than 2 hours from home, so my husband needed a hotel for the stay. While Michigan Medicine does have their own Med Inn, it’s very basic, small, and was full, for the week we needed a place to stay. My husband was able to walk each day from the Graduate to the Kahn Pavillion hospital on the medical campus where I was housed, with ease. It was a 12 minute walk and he enjoyed the exercise from sitting all day in hospital. Another tip: parking is actually cheaper to leave your car overnight at hospital ramp and walk back and forth than it is to pay for Graduate’s valet only parking. While we were there, there was significant road construction near the new hospital so parking in P5 for the Pavillion hospital was actually free. Your timing for that may not work and the other hospital parking structures were charging, but still less expensive to keep car parked at hospital for 24 hour periods. Husband had a great bed, and loved his dinners there nightly in the restaurant bar when he’d leave me for the evening. If you aren’t aware, Michigan Medical Accommodations, can make the reservation for you, at a significant discount, and there was no penalty for checking out earlier than we had originally planned for, when I was released earlier than expected. It’s a wonderfully quirky decor all designed to look like school decor. Our two bedroom Queen room also housed a mini fridge in the card catalogue styled dresser- perfect for staying a longer visit. Walking distance within a block to Target, CVS, multiple restaurants and ice cream shops.
Great location. Very friendly staff. Clean.
Nothing
We stayed at the Graduate Hotel in Ann Arbor for 3 nights during our daughter’s graduation from the University of Michigan. The location was excellent and truly hard to beat for commencement weekend. The decor was charming and very much in the spirit of Ann Arbor and university life, and the staff’s enthusiasm for the graduates was genuinely touching. The hotel even provided a shuttle bus to the stadium for the first commencement ceremony, and upon returning, staff welcomed graduates with cheering and pom-poms, which created a very festive and memorable atmosphere. However, there were several disappointing aspects to our stay. While I understand that hotel rates increase during graduation weekend, the pricing felt excessive, with rates seemingly several times higher than normal dates before and after graduation. Unfortunately, the overall quality and service did not justify such extreme pricing. The rooms and common areas felt quite basic, and housekeeping was inconsistent. On some days, even the trash bins were not emptied. Communication through the Expedia platform was also very poor. I had sent messages in advance regarding our stay and never received a reply. Additionally, because we were arriving on a long international flight from Europe, I had requested an earlier check-in. Not only was early check-in unavailable, but our room was not even ready at the official check-in time of 4:00 PM. We eventually left the hotel around 5:15 PM while still waiting for the room and only returned around 7:30 PM to finally check in. Given the circumstances and the nature of graduation weekend, I believe the hotel could have handled guest communication and room prioritization more thoughtfully, especially for international travelers. Overall, the experience was mixed: an outstanding location and warm graduation atmosphere, but disappointing service and poor value for the price paid.
I love this hotel. I will recommend it to everyone. I have no idea why there were poor reviews, my room was super clean and the staff is very attentive and friendly. My view is stunning. The temperature was perfect with my own thermostat. This hotel is close to everything and I felt very safe galavanting all over solo for the past two days. This hotel is what a hotel is supposed to be like. Timeless, elegant, attentive staff, beautiful decor, restaurant and coffee in the building, valet parking—- all the yes.
Location and staff
Room was awful - I booked a year ago - paid top dollar - and a Hilton diamond - and yet they put me in a tiny room with a king bed (I requested 2 queens) on a floor where there were nightly parties right next to the elevator so we could not sleep because people were going up and down elevator all night!
Dean and the whole parking team was awesome.
Amazing Zach is the best and beyond helpful
We had a great weekend stay. Quaint feel but with modern amenities. Location could not be better in downtown AA. Dean and Zach were the best valets! ❤️
The Graduate hotel in Ann Arbor is in an excellent location, making it a very convenient place to stay. The staff were consistently kind, attentive, and friendly throughout my visit. While the rooms could benefit from some updates, they were clean and featured charming, nostalgic touches that reflect the university’s character. Overall, it was a pleasant and comfortable stay. I even had the chance to speak with the general manager while getting coffee one morning, which added a nice personal touch. Every staff member I interacted with was welcoming and professional.
Loved the U Mich pride, the kitchsy interior design, the student vibe, the location, the breakfast at the restaurant, and the ease of check-in and check-out. Did not love the dark, not entirely clean room with the tiny bathroom.
No volveré.
This hotel is one of the “nicer” hotel options in Ann Arbor. The location and onsite coffee/restaurant are all great perks BUT it is INSANELY hot in this hotel. If you are heat intolerant or are a warm sleeper you will die here. I’m from Texas and was extremely uncomfortable here. I ran the AC the entire time I was there and was able to drop the temp to 75 degrees but I woke up in the middle of the night and it rose back up to 81. The windows only open a crack so i couldn’t get a breeze. It was so hot I almost left in the middle of the night. I messaged the front desk and she told me the entire hotel is hot as a result of the outside temperature (it was 68 degrees for a high that day). I can not imagine this hotel in the summertime. If you run hot this is not the place for you.
A nice hotel. Nothing special. The staff doesn’t go out of their way. They are ok.
Did not have any - had to leave
N/A
The the hotel is beautiful, the vibe is cool and the staff are exceptional
They were tons of high school kids staying at the hotel for prospective student weekend and so it at times felt a little bit like being in a college dorm just because of the energy and the excitement the kids had but it was fine in the end. The brunch was not the greatest and so I would not recommend having breakfast at the hotel.
I just had a wonderful, uplifting conversation with a Graduate Ann Arbor employee named Eric. He was both professional and kind, personable and very helpful. When I come across team members like Eric, I wonder what shaped their lives or what training they've had to make them such natural customer service people. He struck me as a great listener and sought to make our stay as positive as possible. He's ... terrific. Just thought I would share. We will be visiting next month!
I’ve never complained about a hotel before but the price we paid for one night, this place is a total rip off. It felt like a holiday Inn. Run down and grubby hotel. The bathroom was in dire need of a refresh, the rooms were dirty and stuffy and the amenities were a joke. The front desk were pleasant but totally inept. They just kept making mistakes - wrong loyalty program inputted, never followed up when they said they would. For a $700 a night hotel I’d expect room service (traveling with social needs and it just makes life easier) and a clean room.
Staying here now. There are some positives to the hotel but the biggest downside is the sleep quality. It’s so hot in the rooms and there is no way to turn down the temperature. 74 degrees and I’m staring at the ceiling at 1am. Never again. No lotion or coffee in the rooms, at least not in mine (there is a coffee maker). Common spaces are pleasant, Décor in rooms is tasteful but walls in dire need of repainting. Texting the hotel is quick and easy and friendly. Sleep quality is important though and it’s a fail. Restaurant- nice space, really poor food. Can’t believe I went twice.
Very friendly service and good quality food/drinks at the restaurant.
Our king room wasnt ready when we got there at 4:30, which was a little disappointing, but they did give us a high level room to make up for it which was cool.
Location was excellent. The food at the hotel was mediocre. Many coffee shops are within walking distance.
The hotel cleanliness was so-so. I noticed debris and worn furniture in most public spaces. We stayed there a few years ago and it was better-maintained at that time. I had problems connecting to the WiFi. The hotel tech person (working remotely) did not have good customer service skills.
Lage, Lobby, Bar waren sehr nett
Great location for a show at the Michigan Theater
When we checked in they put us in a room next to a room being renovated (?). Extremely loud conversations between workers, loud drilling noise and simple construction noise. Hard to ignore, impossible to rest before the show. We expected more especially for the price we paid. Have stayed at other Graduate hotels without these issues. Should have informed us about this construction or simply not put us in that room. Probably should have asked to be moved, thought they would stop, had to get ready for the show.
The hotel is charming and the downstairs space is really great.
It was so difficult getting a change to my reservation because it was booked through booking.com. If you do not respect those reservations do not accept them.
The building itself and everything that’s in. It is amazing. I think in our floor those and it’s like to Pia from late 1800s.. but the best thing is the staff. You know we had to drive almost 4 hours to get there and when my wife got in the car, it was amazing to see ballet, make her feel comfortable and less than a second. The front desk was awesome. I gotta say Ben is absolutely amazing. I’m definitely a unique person, and he was able to relate to me instantly, and I noticed that he could relate to everybody instantly incredible human.
I wish I could focus on something besides how poorly we have been treated by the management of this property, but I can’t. We stayed at the hotel for a few nights and had to leave because of a family matter. I was told by the hotel, quite graciously, that I would be refunded for the night we didn’t use. After I realized the night wasn’t refunded, I began a four month effort to receive the refund I was promised. I called Hilton, I was told multiple times it would be taken care of, and finally four months later was told by the hotel that I would not be receiving a refund—for no particular reason. A dozen phone calls, countless emails, and then abruptly told—-after being assured by both the Ann Arbor property and the Hilton that I would receive a refund—that they had decided capriciously that they were keeping my money. I really can’t share the level of frustration; it’s fine if there’s a policy, but to be told numerous times by various individuals that it would be taken care of, only to be told the opposite months later, is ridiculous. A massive waste of time and energy. Myopic customer service. There are plenty of other options in Ann Arbor. I suggest you choose one of them.
Very nice weekend visit staying at this ideally located hotel. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel was bustling - students study in the lobby regularly. The decor is fun. Our bathroom could’ve been a bit nicer - it was worn. But overall a wonderful stay.
Very stylish
Quirky hotel (in a good way) in the middle of Univ of Michigan main campus. Walking distance to restaurants and shops. Friendly staff
location was good.
I stayed here 3 nights for a conference. Nice check in staff and friendly valet guys. Lobby has a cool vibe and good coffee. But that’s all for the positives. Room was dirty, bed lumpy, walls are PAPER THIN. I could literally hear everything from the rooms on either side of me, conversations, phone alarms. One night I was forced to listen to an hour long zoom call with some folks in Germany I think. Bathroom is small. A/C did not work, it just blew hot smelly air constantly. The mini fridge was 1000 years old and made whining and croaking sounds all night. No peace or quiet, no good night sleep. Room had a dingy odor. Last time I was in Ann Arbor I stayed at the residence inn and that will be my choice next time also. Never again Graduate Ann Arbor.
The people at the front desk were easy and great to us. Loved our breakfast at the Cafe.
Great location walking distance to most U of M events. Beds really comfortable.
Bathroom was pretty small.
Friendly staff.
Loved the room and atmosphere- so convenient to university and Main Street. Super kind staff.
Staff was awesome room for very cool nice place
Ice machine on the 14th floor was turned off no ice bucket in the room. Went down for dinner ordered an absolute and cranberry didn't carry absolute order a Captain Morgan's in diet Coke didn't carry Captain Morgan's very odd. No coffee maker in the room and no free coffee.
Great hotel right in the middle of Ann Arbor.
We were here for two nights. The Graduate is a Hilton property which has one major asset that's key to its relevance---it's the only major hotel located adjacent to the Michigan campus. It's just a 5 minute walk to the Quad and State Street shopping. It's a 10-15 minute walk to downtown Ann Arbor. There are many good restaurants in the area. Most of the guests here seem to be there for U of M business/activities, and are on the young side. The lobby area seems always to be frenetic with students, people on their laptops, etc.---not a relaxing environment. But the location is so important that negative factors noted below are not such a big deal. Location is what you're paying for. The hotel shows its age, but is in generally good condition. Our King Room had dark gray (rather depressing) walls. Why this color?? The bathroom was quite small, but did have a nice shower. The TV was small compared to the large ones most chains now have. Overall decor in the room was nothing special. There is a restaurant here, but the breakfast and dinner menu is pretty limited. However, there is a grab 'n go area that does have a very good selection (and the food here was good). Also, we did have breakfast in the restaurant one day---we were the only ones there. And it was actually very good. The bar area is pretty small. Valet parking ($40/day) was fine. Overall, it was a decent stay. We wanted to do some walking around the campus, and you just can't beat the location. Surprisingly for such a busy hotel, the staff here were very friendly and helpful. Everybody we interacted with had a positive attitude.
Great property
.
Staff is wonderful but rooms need full Reno. Rooms also very small w few amenities. No bathroom door for privacy. Mattresses old. No full time coffee in lobby. Waitresses in pub are nice but unrefined. One said she “had a brain fart.” Odd.
Staff at the front desk was amazing
Did not have room ready at 5:00 pm
Love it!
The staff were so kind, we loved talking with Eric, and the staff at the bar. We felt safe while we stayed here for the Zach Bryan concert, it had just been a tad disappointing that our room wasn’t ready at 4 instead after 4:30, but they gave us tickets for the bar and that helped while we wait. Overall great experience, we’ll be back.
Comfortable beds and breathable bedding, very convenient location and valet parking makes this a good spot for staying and exploring Ann Arbor. Hotel is about a 45-min walk to the Big House.
The hotel was clean and close to everything.
Lovely hotel a few block off the main drag in Ann Arbor and a 10-15 min walk from Kerrytown.
Valet makes no sense. The lot is connected to the building. If they just gave us a numbered spot that would be easier. Also the room walls are paper thin. Listening to someone cough all night is obnoxious.
Had a great visit to Ann Arbor. Hotel was clean, bed was comfy, hall was quiet. Perfect location to walk to downtown and have dinner and see a show at The Ark!
Great location and clean and well trained staff
Bathroom could use a fan instead of just a vent.
Great experience at the hotel. The parking attendant didn’t know where I could park but I think its ok.
Very friendly sfaff
